OUR NEIGHBORHOODS HAVE BECOME SATINS BATTLEFIELD

DEEP INTO THE FOREST (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

DEEP INTO THE FOREST (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Have you ever stopped to observe what was around you?  For most of us we are so busy trying to earn a living to support our families and life style, it makes it very hard for us to see the forest because we are always looking straight ahead into the trees.  Nevertheless, if we ever took the time to observe what was around us, we would then realize that the battlefield is wherever we are.  It does not matter if we are at our homes, school, job, library, concert hall or church, the battlefield will always be where we are.  Satan is and will always be an enemy of God.  His job is to recruit, recruit and recruit, and believe me; he does his job very well.  Satan does not discriminate on the basics of race, creed, color or national origin.  He is out to destroy God’s kingdom, and that means anyone who is a believer of God is a target of Satan.

Therefore, when we understand our purpose and mission in life, we then know that the enemy we are fighting is a very smart, cunning and truly an elusive devil.  His territory is very large and continues to expand every day.  So finding the battlefield for us should not be very hard as long as we are committed to staying the course and following in the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ.  The battlefield for us will always be close by.  Our neighborhoods are filled with gangs, drugs, prostitution and all sorts of petty crimes.  In some major cities, people are prisons in their own homes.  They have still bars on their windows and doors.  Their homes are like a fort.  In order for them to enter in or come out, they have to struggle to unlock the bars they are locked behind.  Some people have even died in their homes from fires because they could not get out from behind the steel bars they had locked themselves behind.

Our schools from all over the country, which are located in almost every neighborhood in America, has become one of the most potent battlefields in America today.  Each day more than 250,000 kids carry some type of weapon into our schools to either defend themselves or threaten someone else with them in order to show how big and bad they themselves really are.  Kids are shooting and killing other kids because the evil that the old devil has been able to penetrate into our perimeter around the battlefield we have established for ourselves.  When we stop and consider for a moment that our children are our futures, we cannot but to conclude that the enemy has brought the fight to us.

This to me is unacceptable in the 21st century. We must not continue to allow evil to dedicate our destiny.  We have a King that roars like a might lion who is our protector.  He does not know or accept defeat.  We must believe that we as a chosen disciple of the one living God has been given the power to change the course of our destiny by changing the way we view the people that are committing the evil crimes within our communities.  We should never forget that evil survives because we choose to let it rule over us.  We must resist it on every hand, using the power that God gives us, and believe me, we do have the power to stand up and take the fight to the enemy.  God has given us that power if we choose to use it.  All we have to do is call on him.  He said that he would never leave us or forsake us.  He will always be right there with us even until the end of time.

Standing up to the enemy may not be the way you would view your mission in this world, but if you don’t, who will?  Sometimes we have to just say no to the enemy, and do what is unpopular at the time even if our life depends on it.  This world is not our home; we are just passing through on our way to our eternal home.  We must be prepared to face the enemy with all our strength and might.  Then and only then will the enemy have a sense of who we are.

The enemy will always feel that he is the biggest and baldest bully in town as long as we allow him to back us down.  There comes a time in our lives when we must say no backing away or running away from a situation that I can no longer tolerate.  This enemy is threaten my family, my community, my way of life, and if I don’t do something about it right now, I will no longer have a family or community to live in, because he is taken it all away.  It is up to me to end this right here and now.  It is time to take the battle to the enemy, no more turning my back and saying it’s not my problem.  I am the child of a King, and the King gave me power over the enemy.  I will take a stand and do my part.  I will do it NOW!  Together, we can bring a change into our Communities.

PASTOR DAVIS SPEAKS BEFORE THE THRONE OF GRACE

Good Morning Children of God, if it’s Sunday, it is time to enter into our Virtual Church for our Prayer, Praise and Worship Service.  Are you ready to give God your heart, worship Him and Praise Him this Morning?

LET US PRAY!  Eternal God, our most precious and Holy Father, the Father of all life in the Universe, we enter into your present this morning, seeking your blessings over our Nation and all its inhabitants. Father, there is much trouble in the land, your children are suffering from fears of their safety been invaded, and lack of the basic substances of not enough food to feed their families, clean fresh water in short supply and being able to find jobs that will help them provide  shelter for their families.  Our government leaders seem to be paralyzed when it comes to making the correct decisions that will help the least among us to lift them out of poverty and bring this nation together as one people.  Father I pray for divine intervention into the lives of all your Children this day.  I speak healing into their physical bodies, I speak revelation over all that they desire to have changed in their lives.  I speak restoration for our Nations and its leaders to be lifted up into the light that they may see the suffering and harm that they are bring into the lives of your children and this great nation of ours.  And in seeing, they will be transformed by the renewing of their minds and they will become Spirit filled in ways that would be unimaginable in other times.  Let the power of your divine Spirit invade our Nations as it provides all your children with peace and joy for another day.  It is in the name of Jesus that we seek these blessings this day, as we lift you up Heavenly Father, in Prayer, Praise and Worship.  Amen, Amen, Amen!

Now it is time to lift up our Holy Hands and Praise God.  Join me with my favorite Praise Team leader, Brother Ron Kenoly as he lifts us up higher on the SOLID ROCK.

Now it is time for our Message for today, delivered by God’s Messenger, Pastor Davis speaking to you on the subject, “STOP LIVING IN FEAR-LACK AND LIMITATION!”

LET US PRAY:

Most Holy God, our heavenly Father, open our hearts and minds that the lesson you have for us today will penetrate deep into our souls and heal the wounds that have been inflicted upon us. Bind up our broken hearts in order that our Spiritual Eyes and Ears may be open to the truth of your teaching this day, in Jesus name I pray, Amen!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

In today’s lesson, this is what the Scriptures teach us, it says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7 KGV)  Do you believe this truth of God’s Holy Word?  If you believe,  I encourage you to hold onto that thought and listen to the message God wants you to partake of as you study his word today and the rest of this week.  Click on this video clip and be blessed.

LET US PRAY:  Heavenly Father, we thank you for opening the windows of Heaven and pouring out a blessing upon your Children that took the time to be a part of this Sunday Prayer Praise and Worship Service.  Now may the Holy Spirit watch over them, guide them and teach them your ways as they walk out their purpose in this life, in Jesus name, AMEN!

Let me remind you that beginning Monday Morning, we will begin a week long celebration service honoring our dear Mothers from around the globe.  Please join with us each day and share your thoughts and prayers with one of our most precious resources and that is our Mothers.  For the Bible teaches us to honor our Mothers that our days will be long upon this earth.  Each one of you can be a part of this celebration by returning here daily and sharing a word with out tens of thousand readers from all over the world.

Thank each one of you for been a part of another Sunday Prayer and Praise Service. If this service has blessed you, why not share it with others as your blessing over their lives this day.  For this is truly the first day of the rest of your life.  Be Blessed My Friends!

BE PATIENCE IN THE MIDST OF TRAGEDY

BE PATIENCE IN THE MIDST OF TRAGEDY

PATIENCE IS LOVE (PHOTO BY SHIRLEY RHODES)

PATIENCE IS LOVE (PHOTO BY SHIRLEY RHODES)

Today we encourage the people from all around the world, to be patience in the midst of tragedy, in all you do and how you feel in regards to the tragedy that has unfolded in Boston, Mass in the past few days. The people of Boston and the World all have been struck by the Enemy of terror.  This Enemy had a dark and evil Spirit to set off a bomb in the middle of innocence people that would kill and injury so many people.  But let there be no mistake, our President and all the leaders that are involved in the mystery of solving this problem has promised us that the Enemy of Terror would feel the full weight of the American Justice System.

We can take comfort in the fact that our first responders, and the many heroes that rushed into chaos to help those that were injured, and now our hospitals, nurses and Doctors from around the world are still responding with courage and a Spirit that has shown the World the strength of the people of Boston and the American Spirit of all its Citizen.

Let us not forget this very important fact, and that is this enemy was truly a thief, and his aim was to take the lives of as many people as he possibly could.  In John 10:10, we see that Jesus warned us of this thief.  Jesus said, “A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.”

Therefore, I encourage all of you, in all that you do, “BE PATIENCE!” Allow the authorities the time an opportunity to do their jobs.  Be informed by the facts and allow the WORD OF GOD to guide your hearts and minds in all things.

Finally, listen to how the word of God informs us to act, it says, “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath!”
Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil, for the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land. (Psalm 37:7-9 ESV)  “BE PATIENCE IN THE MIDST OF TRAGEDY!”

Now let us continue to pray for the victims and their families in the Boston Tragedy.  When prayers go up, blessings come down.

WELCOME TO OUR SUNDAY MORNING VIRTUAL CHURCH PRAYER, PRAISE AND WORSHIP SERVICE

JESUS SAID, "UPON THIS ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH" (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

JESUS SAID, “UPON THIS ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH” (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Good Morning Children of God, it is Sunday Morning and that could mean only one thing and that it is time to lift our Holy Hands and Praise God and then Worship Him with all our Body, Soul and Mind.  It is time to get your Praise on.  No more fooling around, for God is good all the time, and all the time He is good and truly worthy of all our praises.

Let us begin this Sunday Morning Service by praying this prayer together:  Most Holy God, our Heavenly Father, we humble ourselves before you this morning with a song of praise and thanksgiving in our hearts. We seek your blessings over our life and the lives of our family, friends, relatives, our leaders and our Nation. We thank you for all that you have done that has brought us to this point in time. More importantly we thank you for what you are going to do as we journey forward this day. We ask that you give us our daily bread, and forgive us of our sins, and help us to have a humble heart as we forgive others who have sin against us.  We ask this in the name of your son Jesus, AMEN!

Now click on this first video clip and be blessed by the Prayer of Jabez as it is performed by Donald Lawrence Choir.

Now let us read this powerful Scripture together;

“TITLE” IT IS TIME FOR US TO WORSHIP IN THE SPLENDOR OF HOLINESS.  (PSALMS 96 ESV)

Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day.  Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods.  For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength! Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts! Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth!

Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns! Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved;
he will judge the peoples with equity.” Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord, for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth.

He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness. AMEN, AMEN, AMEN.  Don’t you feel the spirit of God moving through your body and mind, I thank God for you, I thank Him for the power of the Holy Spirit and how He is moving and lifting each of you up to that high place that He desires for us all to be.

Now pause for a moment and get your Bible out with your pen and paper and we are going to study the word from the Book of John chapter 14:1-8.  Click on this next video clip to begin our Sunday Morning Bible Study Worship Service.  This part is only nine minutes, so please watch it and be blessed.

The subject for our Bible Study is; “KNOWING!”  Do you know who God is, who you are and who you are in God?

It has truly been a great honor indeed for me to share the word of God with you this morning. Thank you for opening your hearts and mind to receive what God had planned for you this Sunday Morning.  Now take this message into the World and bless someone else this day and throughout this week.  Now let us continue to get our praise on as we close this Service for this moment with, “OH HAPPY DAY!”

Now let your day and week be one of joy and happiness.  Do not allow the devil to still your joy.  Remember, he is going to and fro in the earth and seeing who and what he can take down into the pits of hell with him.  We encourage you to stay focus and remain strong.  The race is not to the swift but to those who have the patience to endure.  May God’s Blessings be with you now and always, in Jesus name, AMEN! Remember, you can always go to our youtube video teaching channel, and on the left side of the page, click on playlist and you can watch all the videos that we feature here daily and a lot more that is never seen here.  We encourage you to click on the link below and discover a great blessing waiting just for you.

POVERTY IN AMERICA IS NO JOKE

POVERTY IN AMERICA IS NO JOKE

DID YOU KNOW THAT THE POOR ARE GOD’S CHOSEN PEOPLE

We live in the riches country in the WORLD, the most powerful nation on the face of the universe, but here we are in the 21st century daily awaken to headlines reading; half of our high school seniors are dropping out and not graduating, 28 million people are now receiving food stamps, our soldiers are returning from the war zone and not able to receive proper medical treatment, some are living on the streets, seniors are having to go without their daily doses of medication because of the high cost, over 40 million AMERICANS do not have health insurance, and the headlines continue to broadcast more doom and gloom.  Where will it all end, and is there a way for a new beginning?  The real deal is this, “POVERTY IN AMERICA IS NO JOKE!”

I personally believe there is, if we are willing to set aside our own selfish pride and seek the one who can change the condition of this world as well as our own personal circumstances.

Our government seems to be paralyzed when it comes to helping the poor among us.  JESUS told us that the poor will always be with us.  Therefore, I ask you this one simple question, “DID YOU KNOW THAT THE POOR ARE GOD’S CHOSEN PEOPLE?

THE POVERTY OF POOR IN AMERICA (PHOTO BY FANPOP.COM)

THE POVERTY OF POOR IN AMERICA (PHOTO BY FANPOP.COM)

When Jesus preached his SERMON ON THE MOUNT, he spoke these words, BLESSED are the poor, for yours is the KINGDOM OF GOD.  BLESSED are you who hunger now, for you shall be filled.  BLESSED are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.  BLESSED are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you, and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, for the SON OF MAN’S sake.  Rejoice in that day and leap for joy!  For indeed your reward is great in heaven.

We see here that at face value, it appears that JESUS was making a blanket promise of salvation and blessing to anyone below the POVERTY line.  In this view, the poor are seen as GOD’S CHOSEN PEOPLE.  Though they suffer now, they can expect glorious blessing in the WORLD TO COME.  And the adherents of this view believe that while in this world the people of GOD should do everything possible to alleviate the suffering of the poor.  In this way the kingdom of God is extended.

However, when we don’t offer ourselves up as servants of CHRIST or our brother’s keeper, listen to what Jesus issues out as His Woes in the same sermon.  He says, “But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation.  Woe to you who are full, for you shall hunger.  Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.  Woe to you when all men speak well of you.”

Jesus wanted us to know, that we have the opportunity to change the conditions and circumstance in which we find ourselves living in.  If we don’t step up to the plate now there will be a price to pay latter, this is His warnings in the Woes.

Jesus wants us all to experience the hope and joy that he freely offers to those of us who recognize our spiritual poverty before God.  When a person rejects worldly value and embraces the godly teachings of Jesus, then that individual begins to experience the reign of Christ in his or her life.  This is how we enjoy the kingdom of God now in this fallen world.  One day we will experience the joys of this kingdom in a fuller, more glorious way.

To summarize, anyone, rich or poor (and in a spiritual sense we all are poor), can taste the deep joy of God’s rule and blessing of His kingdom.  But doing so requires that we renounce the ways of the world and humbly submit our ways to God.  This kind of poverty, an emptying of ourselves of our self-centered desires, is what God expects from everyone.

Let us live with the blessed assurance that God will never leave us are forsake us.  Those who believe can rest on God’s promises and enjoy the fruits of our labor knowing that we are truly a child of THE KING who can do all things but fail.  In our knowing and understanding of the WORLD, let us be mindful that, “POVERTY IN AMERICA IS NO JOKE!”

HONORNING THE HISTORY AND LEGACY OF BLACK HISTORY IN AMERICA

HONORNING THE HISTORY AND LEGACY OF BLACK HISTORY IN AMERICA

WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES

SHIRLEY RHODES

SHIRLEY RHODES

Today, we continue to honor the History and Legacy of the AFRICAN AMERICAN PEOPLE as a building block that has been a total part of the fabric of America.  African American’s have been a part of these building blocks for over 200 years.

This is a tribute in honor of Black History Month, honoring people of all races, gender, and culture who faced difficult periods in history as well as today because of a desire to be free and treated as equal. Let’s not forget the generations gone on before us who’ve paved the way and now we have an opportunity to embrace greater freedom of choice and decision.   The struggles continue but we must not forget the battle is not ours, we keep striving, moving forth with our eyes centered on the prize and that prize is that “we all” are given the opportunity to taste real freedom.

Celebration of Black History Month encourages us to reflect on the hopes, dreams and achievements of African- Americans –those who survived persecution, beatings, discrimination, and slavery and yet somehow triumphed in the mist of the struggles. It is a time not just for African-Americans but for those who walked and worked side by side with our black brothers and sisters risking their lives all for equality.

Among the moments of reflection on what has been accomplished, let’s remember that the struggle is not finished. Those who have paved the way gave us insight into their struggles and we are reminded that nothing is gained if we become so comfortable we no longer feel the need to reach higher goals.

With-out pride in ourselves how can we reach back and lift someone else up? The very people who fought in the struggle relied on each other for support, yet many today will not even visit a soup kitchen, or willingly share the gospel of Jesus Christ, are we too comfortable?  Jesus taught us to love and until we are able to comprehend the full meaning of those words, we’ll cease to move forward united. The choice is ours and what we do with it is each one’s responsibility to another.

From a biblical point there are constant reminders of struggles, endurance, strength and overcoming the odds through Victory in Jesus Christ. What we see today is a people without hope due to circumstance, but we have the power within ourselves (spirit within) to overcome any obstacle set before us. We must move in faith instead of being faithless, seek God in all we do because he is the Shepard of our lives.

We’ve managed to lose the importance of those very values of the people we reflect on during Black History Month in so many ways; therefore, we now find ourselves on the verge of losing an entire “privileged” generation of youth. A generation that has access to all the material “things” their hearts desire and yet know little about the struggle or its purpose. The question we must ask ourselves as a Nation, as a People, “How do we grasp the torch and pass it on in such a way that the meaning to Black History isn’t lost forever?” God has a pattern and a plan for all people but we must be obedient and in reverence of the Source which supplies all that we need to endure the struggles and win the Victory.

Now let us not forget who we are as a people, just because we are celebrating Black History Month.  In Christ Jesus, we are all one people.  Not Black People, White People are any other color.  We are a people that belong to Christ and we all are AMERICAN’S.  Do not leave without watching this very important video clip.

May God’s blessings be upon each and every person as we celebrate this Black History Month together as Children of the KING!  Let us do this in Jesus name.

The pictures you are viewing here were taken while I was traveling from the East Coast to the West Coast during the heart of the winter storms a few years ago.  What I was able to see and capture through the lens of my camera is breath taking.  The Rocky Mountains are so utterly beautiful during the winter as well as summer.  But to view the white caps of the mountain tops in the winter as they disappear into the clouds in the sky is truly an amazing site to behold.  So I share with you this day what God shared with me. He is truly an amazing God and He has created an amazing Universe for us to live in and to explore.

The Eisenhower Tunnel, officially the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnel, is a dual bore, four lane vehicular tunnel approximately 50 miles west of Denver, Colorado.  It is the highest vehicular tunnel in the world and it lies entirely within the Arapaho National Forest. The elevation of this great tunnel is 14,439 feet, and a total length of 8,957 feet.

TRAGEDY IN CONNECTICUT HAS RENEWED OUR SPIRITS AT CHRISTMAS

TRAGEDY IN CONNECTICUT HAS RENEWED OUR SPIRITS AT CHRISTMAS

LIFE’S CIRCUMSTANCES HAS CONNECTED US THROUGH CHANCE AND CHOICE

CHRISTMAS AT BABY LAND WITH THE CABBAGE PATCH KIDS (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Jesus is the reason for the season, and as we approach the day of great joy and celebration our hearts have been filled with sorry, grief and disbelief.  But we know that this too will past, as we lift up our heads, hold onto God’s unchanging hands, we can truly say without a doubt, which is, this too will past.  Because we are truly leaning and depending on God to bring us through, it is the choice that we make.

The tragedy that took place in Newtown, Connecticut with a deranged gunman forcing his way into an elementary school than shooting and killing innocent children and teachers has done more to connect us together as a country and against gun violence than anything I can remember in my life time.  It all was done through chance and by choice, the choice by a deranged gunman to do harm to the innocent.

God gave us from the beginning of time the opportunity to make choices in our life’s journey.  He did not

DADDY'S PRINCESS (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

DADDY’S PRINCESS (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

promise us that the choices we make would always be the correct ones; nevertheless, it is we ourselves who will make the choices that will guide our life journey.  Therefore, when it comes to guns and the gun culture that is ripping our lives and the lives of our children apart, we now have to make a choice concerning guns and the violence that they are heaping upon society.

The choices we make will determine how we live out the rest of our lives here on this earth.  The devil has already made his choice, and the bible tells us in John 10:10 that the choice he made was to steal kill and destroys.  What he did in Newtown, Connecticut is clear evidence of just how well he makes his choices know to us.  Now we must make our choice know to him.  Will we take a stand against gun violence in all areas of society?

Human nature is an important part of something special created by God himself.  Our “life’s connection through circumstances, chances and choice” challenges each of us at some point in this earthly existence to take chances and make a choice.  Our choices may not always be the right one, or the wrong one, but the fact that circumstances cause us to take a chance and make the choice puts us into the flow of life where God can guide us into the path of righteousness.

Did it ever occur to you, that the problems that are challenging our very existence, may very well be one called self-pride, or lack of will to surrender right where you are, in the very moment?

With-out knowledge or sense of direction, strong willed without guidance of the Holy Spirit the battles we struggle with may actually be a part of the process (or calling) God has purposed for our lives. Our “life’s connection through circumstances, chances and choice are all part of a plan to consider as to whom we choose to follow in order to look to for guidance and direction.

As we find our place in life we often fail to realize or see far enough ahead to know that there is a greater force watching and waiting; he knows our actions and why we do and say the things we do, nothing is hidden to the invisible eye; he watches and cares for our very souls.

Therefore, let us understand that God is watching and waiting for each of us to do what’s right and pleasing in His sight.  These little children lives that were taken in Newtown, Connecticut must not be in vain.  God has a divine plan for all of our lives, and he waits for each one of us to make a choice as to how we are going to live our lives according to His divine plan.

When confronted with life’s circumstances, choices and chance, work at developing the art of gratitude and thanksgiving in all things. Embrace life with vigor and a heart filled with love and joy.  Know that this Christmas may be our last, but it is the one that we are going to make last for all eternity.  Jesus is the reason for the season.

PROCLAMATION OF THANKSGIVING BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Following is the 1863 Lincoln Presidential Proclamation – celebrated shortly after Lincoln committed his life to Christ and celebrated while America was still in the midst of its Civil War. It was this proclamation which eventually led to the establishment of our national Thanksgiving holiday.

The year that is drawing toward its close has been filled with the blessings of fruitful years and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the Source from which they come, others have been added which are of so extraordinary a nature that they can not fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever-watchful providence of Almighty God.

In the midst of a civil war of unequaled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign states to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere, except in the theater of military conflict, while that theater has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union.

Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the field of peaceful industry to the national defense have not arrested the plow, the shuttle, or the ship; the ax has enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than theretofore. Population has steadily increased notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege, and the battlefield, and the country, rejoicing in the consciousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years with large increase of freedom.

No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy.

It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently, and gratefully acknowledged, as with one heart and one voice, by the whole American people. I do therefore invite my fellow-citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next as a day of thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to His tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners, or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it, as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes, to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquility, and union.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed.

[Signed]
A. Lincoln

Today, we begin our week long celebration of our THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY.  It is truly a joyful time of the year to be blessed and bless others as God has purposed us to do.  So come on in and share with us each day as we share with you God’s word for His Blessings over your life and the lives of all His Children of the World.  The World is in turmoil and it needs all of us to do our part in helping our brothers and sisters to be lifted up and stand tall in the world that we share as one in Jesus.

Counting our Blessings (Photo by Pastor Davis)

Together we will celebrate this thanksgiving in a special way, seeking God‘s blessing for all he has done to allow us this opportunity to share with each other our abundance from the feast of the harvest.  Remember, we are our brothers keeper, therefore we must reach out to those that are in need of food and shelter, offer them a helping hand and then watch how God will add to our blessings.

LISTED BELOW ARE SOME WAYS FOR YOU TO THANK AND PRAISE GOD

The Bible is filled with ways for you to give thanks and praise God from cover to cover.  The choice is yours to take the time to study and understand, the many reason why you should always be giving thanks. The Psalms provide us with a rich history of how we can do it.  Take some time and study these Psalms and use them this thanksgiving with your family and friends as you share a thanksgiving meal with them.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LEADERSHIP AND GROWTH OF GODLY FAMILIES (PART 3)

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LEADERSHIP AND GROWTH OF GODLY FAMILIES (PART 3)

WILL FATHERS STAND UP AND BECOME GODLY LEADERS?

Fathers, do not irritate and provoke your children to anger [do not exasperate them to resentment], but rear them [tenderly] in the training and discipline and the counsel and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4 AMP)

MY SON NAPOLEON–A GODLY FATHER–LEADER OF HIS FAMILY (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Most fathers have no desire for the Word of God and they are raising angry vengeful children because they are not committed to training their children in spiritual principles as God commands. Of course, they cannot train the child if they are ignorant of God’s principles themselves. That is a picture of the American father as I see it today.

We know that sometimes fathers fail to accept the responsibility God has given them toward their wives and children. Many fathers pursue their own selfish interests thus abandoning the role God has given them.

A Father and Son Moment with Pastor Davis and Son Max

Whenever parents fails to fulfill their role of godly leadership, the responsibility for leading their children will wrongly pass to a child’s peer group, a school or even the television. When an absent parent’s egoistic barked orders are met with resistance and rebellion, out of frustration and impatience a worldly parent might then even further discourage his or her children by cursing them. Instead, every parent needs to accept the leadership roles God has given us. This will require us to possess a heart devoted to God, to show our children how to live and to model serving others through love.

The principle of accepting our God given responsibility is within the grasp of each person. It is a decision. It does require work as well as death to Self.

God has provided a number of biblical principles for effective leadership. Any parent who abandons these principles will find their leadership ability in God’s service severely damaged. As parents seeking to serve God, let’s focus on being those whom God wants us to be. Let’s provide the godly leadership that our families need and which God has described for us. May our families be shining beacons of godly love, hope, values and all sorts of godly behavior in a world torn by the fruits of idolatry. And when we have finished the course, may we hear “well done good and faithful servant, you have been faithful in a few things. Enter into your Master’s   glory.”

WHAT IS EFFECTIVE PARENTING, HERE ARE THE FACTS

Involved fathers provide practical support in raising children and serve as models for their development. Children with involved, loving fathers are significantly more likely to do well in school, have healthy self-esteem, exhibit empathy and pro-social behavior compared to children who have uninvolved fathers.  Committed and responsible fathering during infancy and early childhood contributes emotional security, curiosity, and math and verbal skills.

INCARCERATION:

The Department of Justice has estimated that over 7.3 million children under age 18 have a parent who is in prison, jail, on probation, or on parole. Given these numbers, it is important to understand how children and their caregivers are affected by the criminal activity of a parent and their subsequent arrest, incarceration, and release.  Additionally, it is important to know which services and assistance might be available to those under criminal justice supervision to help them be better parents and to return successfully to the community.

THE FATHER FACTOR

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 24 million children in America — one out of three — live in biological father-absent homes. Consequently, there is a “father factor” in nearly all of the social issues facing America today.

Father Factor in Poverty

Children in father-absent homes are five times more likely to be poor. In 2002, 7.8 percent of children in married-couple families were living in poverty, compared to 38.4 percent of children in female-householder families.

During the year before their babies were born, 43% of unmarried mothers received welfare or food stamps, 21% received some type of housing subsidy, and 9% received another type of government transfer (unemployment insurance etc.). For women who have another child, the proportion who receive welfare or food stamps rises to 54%.

Father Factor in Maternal and Infant Health

Infant mortality rates are 1.8 times higher for infants of unmarried mothers than for married mothers.

Based on birth and death data for 217,798 children born in Georgia in 1989 and 1990, infants without a father’s name on their birth certificate (17.9 percent of the total) were 2.3 times more likely to die in the first year of life compared to infants with a father’s name on their birth certificate.

Children who live apart from their fathers are more likely to be diagnosed with asthma and experience an asthma-related emergency even after taking into account demographic and socioeconomic conditions. Unmarried, cohabiting parents and unmarried parents living apart are 1.76 and 2.61 times, respectively, more likely to have their child diagnosed with asthma. Marital disruption after birth is associated with a 6-fold increase in the likelihood a children will require an emergency room visit and 5-fold increase of an asthma-related emergency.

Father Factor in Teen Pregnancy

Being raised by a single mother raises the risk of teen pregnancy, marrying with less than a high school degree, and forming a marriage where both partners have less than a high school degree.

Separation or frequent changes increase a woman’s risk of early menarche, sexual activity and pregnancy. Women whose parents separated between birth and six years old experienced twice the risk of early menstruation, more than four times the risk of early sexual intercourse, and two and a half times higher risk of early pregnancy when compared to women in intact families. The longer a woman lived with both parents, the lower her risk of early reproductive development. Women who experienced three or more changes in her family environment exhibited similar risks but were five times more likely to have an early pregnancy.

An analysis of child abuse cases in a nationally representative sample of 42 counties found that children from single-parent families are more likely to be victims of physical and sexual abuse than children who live with both biological parents. Compared to their peers living with both parents, children in single parent homes had:

a 77% greater risk of being physically abused

an 87% greater risk of being harmed by physical neglect

a 165% greater risk of experiencing notable physical neglect

a 74% greater risk of suffering from emotional neglect

an 80% greater risk of suffering serious injury as a result of abuse

overall, a 120% greater risk of being endangered by some type of child abuse.

Father Factor in Drug and Alcohol Abuse

Researchers at Columbia University found that children living in two-parent household with a poor relationship with their father are 68% more likely to smoke, drink, or use drugs compared to all teens in two-parent households. Teens in single mother households are at a 30% higher risk than those in two-parent households.

The Numbers

According to 2009 U.S. Census Bureau data, over 24 million children live apart from their biological fathers. That is 1 out of every 3 (33%) children in America. Nearly 2 in 3 (64%) African American children live in father-absent homes. One in three (34%) Hispanic children, and 1 in 4 (25%) white children live in father-absent homes.

In 1960, only 11% of children lived in father-absent homes.

The Consequences

Children who live absent their biological fathers are, on average, at least two to three times more than their peers who live with their married, biological (or adoptive) parents to:

Be poor

Use drugs

Experience educational problems

Experience health problems

Experience emotional problems

Experience behavioral problems

Be victims of child abuse

Engage in criminal behavior

THE MAGIC OF BELIEVING IN YOUR VOTE

Are you a person of faith?  Do you believe in miracles?  Do you believe in the bible, when the word says, “all things are possible if you believe?”  Do you believe in anything?  For the rest of this day and tomorrow, you now have the opportunity to test your belief system.  God created each one of us in His own image and likes.  He gave us His Character, and He allowed us to live in the greatest country on earth.  What a great joy this is to be given the opportunity to participate in the democracy of the country that God has placed each one of us in.  Our democracy means freedom for all people, and each one of us now have the opportunity to decide on just how we are going to continue to live free and make decisions about our lives that will keep us free and moving forward as a nation.

Over the next 48 hours each one of us will have to look into the mirror and face our other self.  When we do, we will be facing reality of just who we are.  The mirror will not lie, but we can lie to ourselves and deny our real self.  Who is that person that I am looking at in the mirror, and how is that person going to vote?  Not if that person is going to vote, because the choice is crystal clear, that person must vote if that person wants to continue to live free and have the freedom to make his own choices over the next decade.  The choice that this person that I am looking at in this mirror, must make the right choice for the future of himself, his family’s future and the future of his country.  No one else can vote for the person in the mirror, he must get out and vote for himself.

I am a believer, I believe in the magic and integrity of my vote.  Therefore, I am going to step out on faith and make my vote count.  Because all that I have seen and heard, teaches me to trust in God for all that I have not seen.  Nothing or anyone can turn me away from doing what is right for this country.  I believe that God is still in control of all things and the things that I believe in, God will make them possible.

ARE YOU A PERSON WITHOUT SELF CONTROL

ARE YOU A PERSON WITHOUT SELF CONTROL

WOMAN EATING CHOCOLATE

When you’re given a box of candy, don’t gulp it all down;
eat too much chocolate and you’ll make yourself sick;
And when you find a friend, don’t outwear your welcome;
show up at all hours and he’ll soon get fed up.

Anyone who tells lies against the neighbors
in court or on the street is a loose cannon.

Trusting a double-crosser when you’re in trouble
is like biting down on an abscessed tooth.

Singing light songs to the heavyhearted
is like pouring salt in their wounds.

If you see your enemy hungry, go buy him lunch;
if he’s thirsty, bring him a drink.
Your generosity will surprise him with goodness,
and God will look after you.

A north wind brings stormy weather,
and a gossipy tongue stormy looks.

Better to live alone in a tumbledown shack
than share a mansion with a nagging spouse.

Like a cool drink of water when you’re worn out and weary
is a letter from a long-lost friend.

A good person who gives in to a bad person
is a muddied spring, a polluted well.

It’s not smart to stuff yourself with sweets,
nor is glory piled on glory good for you.

A person without self-control
is like a house with its doors and windows knocked out.

GOD’S GIFT TO THE INDIANS

GOD’S GIFT TO THE INDIANS

I took these photos while traveling north from Denver, Colorado to Cheyenne, Wyoming.  I discovered this fort off interstate 25 near Fort Collins, Colorado.  The rocks were a Nature Created Rock Formation which resembled a fort.  The first photo explains the rest of the story.  These beautiful rocks have been chiseled out and written upon by Souvenir Hunters.  However, as they still stand and you move around in the center of them you can sense the fighting taking place.

FEAR-ANGER AND DIVINENESS IS HARMING OUR NATION

Fear, Stress & Anger

FEAR-ANGER AND DIVINENESS IS HARMING OUR NATION

WE MUST OVERCOME OUR FEARS IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS

This is one of the most fearful times in our nation’s recent history. How we respond to it, both individually and collectively, may determine the outcome of our success as a NATION.

However we view it, we must overcome our fears in order that we achieve the success GOD has already provided for us. He told us that He would never put on us more than we can bear.  God’s word is truth, and we as a NATION must learn to stand on His word.  He further told us that His people will perish from a lack of knowledge.  Knowledge is power, and God will provide us with  all the power we need to overcome our fears.  He assured us that He was the VINE and we are the BRANCHES, and if we abide in Him, He would abide in us and we will bear much fruit.  In other words, we can achieve the SUCCESS as a NATION by abiding in JESUS.

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.  (2 Timothy 1:7 AMP)

The coping behaviors we are seeing – avoidance, denial, being reactive, staying busy – are somewhat predictable, as are the feelings produced – anxiety, anger. What are causing such reactions, to a large degree, are unanswered questions such as these: Are we in this together, or is it everyone for themselves? Will we ever find our way out of this, and if so, how long will it take?

Among the unfortunate psychological side effects of a crisis like this is (1). People feeling isolated and believing that they are having to work out their own financial issues on their own, because everyone else is preoccupied; (2) a loss of confidence in our economic and political institutions, and leadership of all kinds, and finally (3). A resulting loss of self-confidence and even depression as people cope with the crisis in different ways.

We can feel powerlessness and hopeless, which produces a cycle of futility that can spiral downward. People bring all of this baggage to work, where it can show up in a lot of ways – cheerful denial, tense conversations, angry conflicts, misperceptions and miscommunication, and even distrust.

However, we do have a choice? The choice is at home or at work and it is very simple: Let the fear control our reactions, or embrace the fear. At a time like this, we could easily go negative or reactive, with predictable results. We could go naively positive and be viewed as out of touch. We could bury our heads in the sands of busyness in the hopes the crisis will go away. But one thing is clear, this is one set of crises from which we can run but definitely not hide.

If we are not going to run and hide but embrace this fear, what do you need to do?

Stay grounded: Find your own ground first, where you are your true, authentic self – what truly matters to you, your core values, your mission in your work. Find a quiet place to reflect on what is true vs. what is perceived. From reflection comes discernment, and with discernment come perspective and a more positive attitude.

Lead with compassion: This is a time to lead from the heart rather than the head. The WORK FORCE needs reassurance, information, perspective and a chance to be heard. Over-communicate. Create opportunities for people to talk about their concerns. The worst thing that can happen is that we act like nothing is going on – and then we get what we get.

Maintain a realistic optimism: Practicing optimism in the face of the daily reports of Armageddon is not exactly easy. But optimism creates its own energy. It’s easier if we’re grounded daily, which gives us perspective. And with a positive attitude, we can avoid overreacting and actually create an environment in which we are looking for creative solutions.

Support each other: It’s about relationships. Everyone at work is going through the same stuff. Most people do not want to feel isolated or alone during times like these. Create opportunities for people to talk about their concerns and how they are problem-solving. In mutual support and communication, the work force will discover a new sense of community.

Go with the energy: What you resist persists. The more we resist engaging our fears, the worse they become. Go with the energy that is generated when people can have an honest conversation about the realities of how this economy is impacting work life. Once the dialogue is opened up, people will move from their concerns to solutions – and support for each other. This is the energy of true collaboration.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt famously said in his inauguration address in 1933 that “we have nothing to fear, but fear itself.” His words were meant to reassure a struggling people at the height of the GREAT DEPRESSION – the most difficult economic times this nation has faced in at least 100 years. It is a time for us to be authentic and truthful about our workplace challenges. It is a time to engage each other. It is a time to move beyond our fears to achieve success – together.

Now let me close with this final thought for each one of you who have taken the time to read this entire lesson and the many lessons we teach here daily, “Think globally, and work locally.  Looking beyond ourselves in the real and on line world, to reach out to others who might be in need, for we all are truly our Brothers Keeper, may the grace of God abide in you now and forever, in JESUS name, AMEN!

THE WISCONSIN AND COLORADO TRAGEDY REMINDS US THE NEED FOR PRAYER

THE WISCONSIN AND COLORADO TRAGEDY REMINDS US THE NEED FOR PRAYER

WISCONSIN-TEMPLE-SHOOTING

There is no time greater than this day that we all must kneel before God and pray.  When one of God’s Children is hurting, all of His Children feel the pain.  Although many of us are far removed from the actual scene of the crime, we are connected to all the victims through our spiritual minds.  Therefore, let us all take some time and focus our minds upon them as we seek God to bring comfort and healing into their physical bodies, spiritual minds and communities.  For God knows our needs and He is prepared to meet all of them providing we seek him out, be obedient to His commands, then lean and depend on Him to bring peace and comfort to all who believe.

Now listen to what He said we must do, “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14ESV).”

There is trouble in our land and in the hearts of some of our people.  Through the lack of knowledge and the ignorance of a few disturbed and deranged minds, these people feel they have a God given right to take out a gun walk into a place where God’s children have gather and open fire on totally innocence people, shoot and kill them.  This is troubling and not acceptable in the sight of God.

He is not pleased with these types of crimes being raged upon his children.  Nor is he please with us so called Christians and Politicians who are hiding behind our second amendment rights to bear arms and just allow these deranged minded people the right to obtain weapons and carry out these violent crimes.  Now don’t get me wrong, I am not against owning guns because I own a few guns myself.  It is not the guns that kill people, but it is the guns that destroy the lives of many.  The people that are allowed to buy these guns with complete easy and little to no accountability are the ones that are doing the shooting and killing, along with the laws and restrictions that allow them to obtain these weapons with such ease.

The two recent massive shooting, the one in Aurora, Colorado and now this one in Wisconsin, the gunman were able to purchase their guns and ammunition legally.  There are three very important points to consider here; (1) is we need to re-examine our own thinking and convictions on the gun laws we now have in place. (2) We need to establish and enact some sensible gun laws that will effect, and eliminate people such as the two that just committed mass murder of God’s children, and (3) we are in great need of strong leadership from our politicians. It is time for the people’s voices to not only be heard but listen too.  Our current crop of politicians is beholden to the all mighty dollar and the special interest. The people they serve and this great country of ours that they are sworn to represent is no longer their primary concern.  Yet we all are suffering from their lack of concern, and it is now time to make a change.

People of God, think deeply on what is happening in your own communities on a daily basis with gun violence.  Have things gotten so bad that each one of us need to arm ourselves with AK47 to protect our homes and families?  At what point do we all become so angry that we take our weapons, step out into the streets and start shooting and murdering each others?  God created us better than this, He created us out of love and He placed in us a loving heart.  One that says we are to love each other. Love our neighbor as ourselves.  Children of God need to take responsibility for what is happening, and say to our elected officials, enough is enough.

God gave us the power to make a change.  Now is the time for each one of us to use our power at the ballot box this November.  Stop being a one issue voter.  Look at the big picture and make your vote count according to the needs of the majority.  No matter how we look at it, God is still in control of our lives, and He is taking note on how we take care of what He has put us in charge of.  The time is now for each one of us to do what is right and pleasing in God’s sight.

Prayer is the order of the day, you pray for me and I will pray for you.  Today we can use our powers to pray for these victims that they will find comfort in knowing that their love ones are in the present of God.  Their grief is real and their pain is our pain.  But joy will come in the morning.  We are all one people in the sight of God, let us walk by faith and not by sight and know in our hearts that God will hear our cries and He will answer our prayers, in the name of Jesus, AMEN!

DEADLY SHOOTING AT THE SIKH TEMPLE IN WISCONSIN

DEADLY SHOOTING AT THE SIKH TEMPLE IN WISCONSIN

A TIME FOR PRAYER and REFLECTION

Here are some excerpts from an article posted in the USA Today and written by Judy Keen: OAK CREEK, Wis. – Authorities were trying to determine a motive Monday for a bloody attack on a Sikh temple outside Milwaukee by an ex-Army soldier who killed six people and critically injured three others.

Wade Michael Page, 40, was shot dead by police at the scene. At a news conference Monday, Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards said Page “was the only shooter” and verified earlier reports that he was in the military from 1992 until 1998 when he received a general discharge.

Bernard Zapor of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives• said the shooter’s 9 mm handgun with multiple magazines was purchased legally. He said authorities know how he got the gun, but did not give any details.

Carlson said other weapons and ammunition was found in Page’s apartment.

Other people reactions outside the Sikh Temple

The Southern Poverty Law Center, a group that has studied hate crimes for decades, said that Page was a frustrated neo-Nazi who had been the leader of a racist white-power band known as End Apathy.

Heidi Beirich, director of the center’s intelligence project, said her group had been tracking Page since 2000, when he tried to purchase goods from the National Alliance, a well-known hate group.

Carlson said Monday the FBI is “looking at ties to white supremacy groups.”

This is yet another violent gun tragedy that is taking its toll on the Children of God.  So I say to you this day, People of God, I urge you to listen up and tune your minds into the mind of God.  Listen to God speak to you this day.  Know that His ways are not our ways, but He wants us to listen and obey His Word.  Now listen to what He said we must do, “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14ESV).”

Today, as we reflect upon this tragedy, let us all remember the victims and their families, and obey the word of God and pray for them.  When we seek God in honest for those that are among us who are in the greatest need and pause our thoughts about our own concerns and troubles, God will answer our prayers and bless them as we request and at the same time, He will also send down many blessings for us.

Remember, PAUSE, PRAY, MEDITATE, seek FORGIVENESS, and UNDERSTANDING!  Do this in the name of Jesus, AMEN!

LIVING IN THE BEGINNING AND BLESSNESS OF THIS DAY

LIVING IN THE BEGINNING AND BLESSNESS OF THIS DAY

CONTINUED FROM:  “HOW DO WE DETERMINE THE BEGINNING”

Let us not dwell upon the sins and mistakes of yesterday so exclusively as to have no energy and mind left for LIVING RIGHTLY IN THE BEGINNING AND BLESSNESS OF THIS DAY,   and do not think that the sins of yesterday can prevent you from living aright today.  Begin today by getting right with the world, and aided by the accumulated experiences of all your past days, learn to live it better than any of your previous days; but you cannot possibly live it better unless you begin it better.  The character of the whole day depends upon the way it is begun.

Another beginning of great importance is the beginning of any particular and responsible undertaking.  How

Mind creates life

Mind creates life (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

does a man begin the building of a house?  He secures a plan of the proposed edifice, and proceeds to build according to the plan, scrupulously following it in every detail, from the foundation up.  Should he neglect the beginning, the obtaining of an architectural plan, his labor would be wasted, and his building, should it reach completion without tumbling to pieces, would be insecure and worthless.  The same law holds well in any important work: the right beginning and first essential is a definite mental plan on which to build.  Nature will have no slip-shod work, no slovenliness, and she annihilates confusion, or rather, confusion is in itself annihilation.  Order, definiteness, purpose, eternally and universally prevail; and he who in his operations ignores these elements of precision at once deprives himself of substantiality, completeness, and the opportunity for success.

Now let us understand that the most important beginning of all, is upon the affliction or blessedness which it inevitably depends, yet the one most neglected and least understood, is the inception of thought that is in the hidden, but causal, region of the mind.  Your whole life is a series of effects, having their cause in thought, in your own thought.  All conduct is made and molded by thought; all deeds, good or bad, are thoughts made visible.  A seed put into the ground is the beginning of a plant or tree; the seed germinates, the plant or tree comes forth into the light and evolves.  A thought put into the mind is the beginning of a line of conduct: the thought first sends down its roots into the mind, thence to push forth into the light in the form of actions or conduct, which evolves into character and destiny.

Loving, gentle, kind, unselfish, and pure thoughts are right beginnings, leading to blissful results.  This is so simple, so plain, so absolutely true; and yet how neglected, how evaded, and how little understood!

The gardener who most carefully studies how, when, and where to put in his seeds gains the greater horticultural knowledge and obtains the best results; the best crops gladden the soul of him who makes the best beginning.  The man, who most patiently studies how to put into his mind the seeds of strong, wholesome, and charitable thoughts, will obtain the best results in life, and gain the greater knowledge of truth.  The greatest blessedness comes to him who infuses into his mind the purest and noble’s thoughts.

None but right acts can follow right thoughts; none but a right life can follow right acts, and by living a right life all blessedness is achieved.

He who considers the nature and import of his thoughts, who strives daily to eliminate bad thoughts and supplant them with good, comes at last to see that thoughts are the beginnings of results which affect every fiber of his being, which potently influence every event and circumstance of his life.  And when he thus sees, he thinks only right thoughts, chooses to make only those mental beginnings which lead to peace and blessedness.

Wrong thoughts are painful in their inception, painful in their growth, and painful in their fruitage.  Right thoughts are blissful in their inception, blissful in their growth, and blissful in their fruitage.

Many are the right beginnings which a man must discover and adopt on his way to wisdom; but that which is first and last, most important and all-embracing, which is the source and fountain of all abiding happiness, is the right beginning of the mental operations, this implies the steady development of self-control, willpower, steadfastness, strength, purity, gentleness, insight, and comprehension.  It leads to the perfecting of life, for he who thinks perfectly has abolished all unhappiness, his every moment is peaceful, his years are rounded with bliss, he has attained to the complete and perfect blessedness.

A DAY OF REFLECTION IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAGEDY

A DAY OF REFLECTION IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAGEDY

James Holmes Colorado Movie Theater Shooter

12 DEAD AFTER GUNMAN OPENS FIRE IN MOVIE THEATER

Tragedy, Tragedy and more Tragedy, it’s happening everywhere and we all are affected by it.  When someone decides to pick up a weapon and walk out into the general public and begins shooting and killing their brothers and sisters for no good reason, that is a tragedy that we all need to reflect upon.

Anytime there is a loss of life in any manner it is a real tragedy.  When we send our children off to school or give them permission to go to a movie theatre, or to the mall, we do so today reluctantly because of the derange minds that now have such ease access to hand guns and other weapons that are designed to do nothing more than to kill people.

Let us all pause and reflect upon the tragedies that took place in Colorado this morning, in Detroit and Chicago yesterday.  Innocent lives were lost; serious injuries were inflicted upon innocent victims.  Families were destroyed, all because of some deranged minded person.  We all as a country are paying a heavy price for the tragedy that is taking place.  Which one of us will be the next victim of such gun violence?  I tell you this one truth, God is not pleased with what is going on, and the long arms of God are going to reach down and change this situation.

Our elected officials in Congress simply refuses to take a stand against the powerful gun lobby, because they themselves are bought and paid for by those that continue to push more and more guns into our communities and into the hands of those who really need them less.  When are we going to open our eyes and realize that this problem is our entire problem, and it is not going to go away until we make it go away?  We as a people must stand up for what is right and stop this non-sense.  We must tell our elected officials, enough is enough.  If they want listen, we have the power to make the change, vote them out and vote someone in that will listen to the people.  Your vote counts, if you make it count by activating  your God given powers and authority by registering and then voting for the person you feel is going to stand up and lead rather than being led by those with enough money to buy their vote.

Yes this is the day, the moment and time to reflect upon the tragedy that is occurring all around us and having a devastating effect on every one of us, and a Nation as a whole.  If we continue to sweep it under the rug, by ignoring it, or saying it wasn’t me or my family members, when will the next bullet from a gun have your name on it or a member of your family’s name on it?  None of us have an answer to that question, so will we just continue to turn on our television, radios and click onto the internet, watch the tragedies unfold and just discuss them among ourselves, are will we use this moment as a moment of reflections and then take the necessary action to change things?  May God’s Blessings cover all the victims of this tragedy as well as bring healing to this great nation of ours in Jesus name. Write me and tell me what you think!  I remain your brother in Chris Jesus, Pastor Davis/Master Teacher!

HOW TO USE THE CREATIVE POWER OF YOUR IMAGINATION IN MEDITATION (PART 2 of 3

CHOOSING A TIME AND PLACE

In meditation we should choose a time and place where we will not have the least likelihood of being disturbed, where there is a minimum of noise or light to distract us, and where we can be as comfortable as possible.  The body can be a great source of distraction if our thought has to keep returning to it to respond to discomfort or pain or stress.  We should develop techniques by which we can put aside our harried thoughts of concern for the conditions in life that are demanding our attention, then we can harness the power in learning, “HOW TO USE THE CREATIVE POWER OF YOUR IMAGINATION IN MEDITATION!”

Through the power of thought, now open an imaginary container on the floor beside you, and place in it each of the pressures, each of the concerns, each of the problems in your life.

Do so with the understanding that when you have finished your time of mediation, you can open the container again and find each of your problems safe and undisturbed.  You can, if you choose to, pick them up again and carry on with your concern about them.  Once you have placed all of your problems in the container on the floor, take another imaginary container and place it on your lap.

Now I encourage you to let this one, (through the power of your creative imagination), be the one in which you keep the precious dreams toward which you are working.  Perhaps in this container you will place the dream of the loving and harmonious relationship that you are working toward with your husband or wife or child, friend or neighbor.

With your imagination, you can hold that dream for a long enough period of time that the infinite Mind of which yours is but an expression can continue to reveal to you the sense of its existence as a reality now.  In understanding this concept the truth is now unfolding in your mind on, “HOW TO USE THE CREATIVE POWER OF YOUR IMAGINATION IN MEDITATION!  We encourage you to meditate deeply on this lesson and we will provide you with the third and final installment in the morning, which will be title, “EXPERIENCING THE THINGS THAT WE PRAY FOR!”  Please return and read all three over and until it becomes as natural to you as walking. We bless this word to you in the name of Jesus, AMEN!
