Satan is taking control of America’s Neighborhoods

OUR NEIGHBORHOODS HAVE BECOME SATINS BATTLEFIELD

DEEP INTO THE FOREST (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

DEEP INTO THE FOREST (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Have you ever stopped to observe what was around you?  For most of us we are so busy trying to earn a living to support our families and life style, it makes it very hard for us to see the forest because we are always looking straight ahead into the trees.  Nevertheless, if we ever took the time to observe what was around us, we would then realize that the battlefield is wherever we are.  It does not matter if we are at our homes, school, job, library, concert hall or church, the battlefield will always be where we are.  Satan is and will always be an enemy of God.  His job is to recruit, recruit and recruit, and believe me; he does his job very well.  Satan does not discriminate on the basics of race, creed, color or national origin.  He is out to destroy God’s kingdom, and that means anyone who is a believer of God is a target of Satan.

Therefore, when we understand our purpose and mission in life, we then know that the enemy we are fighting is a very smart, cunning and truly an elusive devil.  His territory is very large and continues to expand every day.  So finding the battlefield for us should not be very hard as long as we are committed to staying the course and following in the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ.  The battlefield for us will always be close by.  Our neighborhoods are filled with gangs, drugs, prostitution and all sorts of petty crimes.  In some major cities, people are prisons in their own homes.  They have still bars on their windows and doors.  Their homes are like a fort.  In order for them to enter in or come out, they have to struggle to unlock the bars they are locked behind.  Some people have even died in their homes from fires because they could not get out from behind the steel bars they had locked themselves behind.

Our schools from all over the country, which are located in almost every neighborhood in America, has become one of the most potent battlefields in America today.  Each day more than 250,000 kids carry some type of weapon into our schools to either defend themselves or threaten someone else with them in order to show how big and bad they themselves really are.  Kids are shooting and killing other kids because the evil that the old devil has been able to penetrate into our perimeter around the battlefield we have established for ourselves.  When we stop and consider for a moment that our children are our futures, we cannot but to conclude that the enemy has brought the fight to us.

This to me is unacceptable in the 21st century. We must not continue to allow evil to dedicate our destiny.  We have a King that roars like a might lion who is our protector.  He does not know or accept defeat.  We must believe that we as a chosen disciple of the one living God has been given the power to change the course of our destiny by changing the way we view the people that are committing the evil crimes within our communities.  We should never forget that evil survives because we choose to let it rule over us.  We must resist it on every hand, using the power that God gives us, and believe me, we do have the power to stand up and take the fight to the enemy.  God has given us that power if we choose to use it.  All we have to do is call on him.  He said that he would never leave us or forsake us.  He will always be right there with us even until the end of time.

Standing up to the enemy may not be the way you would view your mission in this world, but if you don’t, who will?  Sometimes we have to just say no to the enemy, and do what is unpopular at the time even if our life depends on it.  This world is not our home; we are just passing through on our way to our eternal home.  We must be prepared to face the enemy with all our strength and might.  Then and only then will the enemy have a sense of who we are.

The enemy will always feel that he is the biggest and baldest bully in town as long as we allow him to back us down.  There comes a time in our lives when we must say no backing away or running away from a situation that I can no longer tolerate.  This enemy is threaten my family, my community, my way of life, and if I don’t do something about it right now, I will no longer have a family or community to live in, because he is taken it all away.  It is up to me to end this right here and now.  It is time to take the battle to the enemy, no more turning my back and saying it’s not my problem.  I am the child of a King, and the King gave me power over the enemy.  I will take a stand and do my part.  I will do it NOW!  Together, we can bring a change into our Communities.

Who is the betrayer at the dinner table?

 (MARK 14:17-20 AMP)

THE PLACE OF THE LAST SUPPER (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

THE PLACE OF THE LAST SUPPER (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

My brothers and sisters, this week allows us to go deep within ourselves and reflect upon that awesome moment in history that Jesus took upon His shoulders the agony of being beaten, humiliated in every way possible, suffering while being nailed and hanged upon a cross for all of our sins in order that we may have the opportunity to enjoy eternal life that God the father promised and sent His Son Jesus to die for.

Now use your imagination and image yourselves sitting down at the dinner table with family and friends and eating a well prepared meal as you discuss the family problems and current events which are suppose to be a very enjoyable moment.  Then image yourself not having the benefit of spiritual insight to know that one of your family members have been plotting behind your back to kill the head of your family, what would be your immediate reaction?  In the case of Jesus and His twelve disciples this is exactly what happen.

On that evening (Wednesday or Thursday), Jesus arrived in Jerusalem with the twelve disciples.  The meal was not to be eaten until after sunset and was supposed to be finished by midnight.

However, as Jesus and His Disciples were eating, Jesus spoke the stunning words, that quickly got the attention of everyone sitting around the dinner table that evening.  Jesus said, “One of you will betray me.”  The betrayer was one of his own chosen twelve disciples, a member of his own family, one with whom the meal was being shared.  Jesus words caused quite a stir among the disciples.  They had heard Jesus tell them three different times that he would soon die, but that one of them would actually betray Jesus saddened them greatly.

Although the other disciples were confused by Jesus words, Judas knew what he meant.  Apparently, Judas was not the obvious betrayer.  After all, he was the one the disciples trusted to keep the money.  Therefore, the disciples asked Jesus who the betrayer was; “I’m not the one, am I?” each one asked in turn.  Matthew records that even Judas asked the same question (Matthew 26:25).  Jesus knew that Judas was going to betray him, and he also knew that Judas would not repent.

In our studies we find that Luke wrote this about Satan, he said Satan entered into Judas Iscariot before he went to the religious leaders.  However, Satan’s part in the betrayal of Jesus does not remove any of the responsibility from Judas.  In God’s sovereign will and according  to his timetable, he uses sinful men.  But that doesn’t excuse their sin.  All people will be held accountable for their choices and actions.  Whatever Judas thought, Satan assumed that Jesus death would end Jesus mission and thwart God’s plan.  Like Judas, Satan did not know that Jesus death and resurrection were the most important parts of God’s plan all along.

All I can say in conclusion, is that this had to be one hellish feeling in the gut of each family member sitting around the dinner table that night knowing that one of them would betray the head of their family in such an evil way.

CHALLENGE YOUR SELF THIS DAY TO BE JOYFUL

CHALLENGE YOUR SELF THIS DAY TO BE JOYFUL

Experience the Beauty of fall in the North East Ga. Mountains (Photo by Pastor Davis)

Experience the Beauty of fall in the North East Ga. Mountains (Photo by Pastor Davis)

Sing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth; break forth, O mountains, into singing! For the Lord has comforted his people and will have compassion on his afflicted. Isaiah 49:13

My question to you this day in offering up this challenge is very simple:  Is there anything too hard for God?  And if you said NO, my Challenge for you is:  “CHALLENGE YOURSELF THIS DAY TO BE JOYFUL.”  Now here is what you must do, “Take the very worst situation that you may face this day and look old Satan in the face, and say, “despite your efforts to turn me around, knock me down to the ground, still my peace and happiness, I will not succumb to your evil ways, I will face you down and rejoice in the joy that my God is providing me with.

Those of us who have learned to trust in God ought to exhibit a dramatically different, positive response to the difficult events of life.  Our attitude is to be one of genuine rejoicing.  This is not joyful anticipation for trials; instead, it is joy during trials.  The joy is based on confidence in the outcome of the trial.  It is the starting realization that trials represent the possibility of growth.

Rejoice and be Happy; BELIEVERS, it’s time to stop pretending to be happy.  It is time to put on your shouting shoes, get up out of your comfortable seats and rejoice in the goodness of the Lord.  Rejoicing goes beyond happiness.  Happiness centers on earthly circumstances and how well things are going here.  Joy centers on God and His presents in our experience.  Now listen careful to this very important message from Isaiah.  He says, “I will sing for joy in God, explode in praise from deep in my soul! He dressed me up in a suit of salvation; he outfitted me in a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom who puts on a tuxedo and a bride a jeweled tiara. For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers, and as a garden cascades with blossoms, So the Master, God, brings righteousness into full bloom and puts praise on display before the nations.” Isaiah 61:10-11 MSG

NOW REJOICE and  CHALLENGE YOUR SELF THIS DAY TO BE JOYFUL!

Preparing for Spiritual Warfare (Lesson 3 of 4) Continues

Preparing for Spiritual Warfare (Lesson 3 of 4) Continues

 SPIRITUAL WARFARE 006

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE TEACHER OF ALL TRUTH (JOHN 16:13) AMP

The Bible tells us in John 8:32 know the truth and the truth will set us free.  Freedom is what we all seek.  Freedom to determine our own destiny, and in doing so, we know that we are assured by the word of God that by holding onto His unchanging hands our victory in this race is a fore gone conclusion.

Nevertheless, here is the one thing you must know concerning the truth.  Listen to what the word says, 13But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future]. (John 16:13) AMP).

SPIRITUAL WARFARE 007Jesus said the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”  The word guide means, “To show the way in unknown territory.”  God uses the Holy Spirit to grow and edify you, stretch and mature you, to build you up, and then take you to the next level of spiritual maturity.  It is a level that you have never, seen before it is unknown territory.  However, know without a doubt, that you are promised, a personal trainer who is the Spirit of truth.  He will come alongside you to guide you in the new place.

He knows what you need and He will never fail you.  A strange dynamic occurs between a trainer and trainee.  The trainee is always complaining to the trainer about what he cannot do.  The truth of the matter is that a good trainer knows more about the trainee than the trainee does.  He knows where he is weak and where he is SPIRITUAL WARFARE 005strong.  He knows how quickly his muscles will respond to certain kinds of training.  He knows when he is tired or just being lazy.  A really good trainer can look at you and tell you if you’ve been eating the right foods or if you’ve gotten enough sleep the night before.  The trainer knows the trainee’s past history.  He puts the trainee on an exercise program tailored for his needs to achieve the desired goal.  Always during exercise, the trainer is right there, next to the trainee.  He never goes on a coffee break.  He never turns his back.

He takes you to the next level.  Whenever the trainer puts the trainee into weight-lighting position, the trainer makes sure there is enough weight on the bar to help the trainee advance to the next level.  When the trainee gets in weight-lifting position, the trainer is right there, whispering into his ear, “You said you wanted to get stronger.  You said you wanted to grow.  You said you wanted to build endurance SPIRITUAL WARFARE 004and stamina.  Now, lift that weight.”  The Holy Spirit will encourage you by reminding you of the prize of God’s high calling.  He will remind you of times past when you thought you could not carry the weight of your problems, but He was right there showing you how.  Sometimes the trainee tries to negotiate with the trainer.  He will say his load is too heavy or that the trainer requires him to lift too much weight.  “Would you please, sir, take off some of this weight?”  However, the trainer knows what his pupil needs.  He tries to help the trainee get stronger.  He knows the trainee only gets stronger by lifting something heavy.  Likewise, the Holy Spirit knows you cannot exercise yourself unto godliness by doing what you are used to doing, what is easy to do.  He knows you have to go through pain sometimes.  He knows you have to be taken to new plateaus of faith, new levels of understanding in the Word, greater depths in meditation, and further intimacy in prayer.

He stands ready to help.  He will never turn his back on you, because He is also your spotter.  If He sees you straining, and sweating, and about to throw in the towel, He takes notice.  A good trainer always stands close enough to place one finger on the load you are trying to lift.  If it looks like the bar is about to fall, a good trainer will hold it for a spell to give you some rest.  He is there to make sure you do not collapse under too much weight.  After all, He has a promise to keep:”God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able” (1Cor. 10:13).  He will never let the bar fall on you and injure you.

Do you know what it is like to struggle with a heavy load only to have God step in to let you rest?  God puts His Holy Ghost finger underneath your load and lifts it for you.  In the midst of your struggle, you find yourself able to lift your burden.  Before you know it, you hear something in your ear.  Before you know it, you are getting stronger.  You are able to lift up your problems, discouragement, and heartache.  The power of the Holy Ghost helps you to run on in Jesus name.  If you keep working out with your Holy Ghost trainer, you will find after awhile that your burden feels a little bit lighter.  It is not really lighter; it is just you have gotten bigger spiritual muscles.  You have the joy of the Lord, which is your strength.  You have heaven in your view.

He gets results.  I go to the gym regularly.  I have noticed that people who leave the gym have a walk about them.  They have a little more glide in their stride.  They may not even have lost any weight, but they know that as long as they keep going to the gym, one day the pounds will come off.  If you are regularly exercising spiritually, you know your troubles will come off.  You know your trails will one day be outdated.  You know discouragement will not be with you always.  You might as well start thanking your Trainer right now, even if you have not lost a pound.  You know, if you are exercising spiritually, that He is the best Trainer there is.  Moreover, if you look around at some of His other clients, you know that those who stick with Him see miraculous results.
