DEEP IN THE FOREST (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Have you ever stopped to observe what was around you?  For most of us we are so busy trying to earn a living to support our families and life style, it makes it very hard for us to see the forest because we are always looking straight ahead into the trees.  Nevertheless, if we ever took the time to observe what was around us, we would then realize that the battlefield is wherever we are.  It does not matter if we are at our homes, school, job, library, concert hall or church, the battlefield will always be where we are.  Satan is and will always be an enemy of God.  His job is to recruit, recruit and recruit, and believe me; he does his job very well.  Satan does not discriminate on the basics of race, creed, color or national origin.  He is out to destroy God’s kingdom, and that means anyone who is a believer of God is a target of Satan.

Now let us here the word of truth how we can over come this great evil that surrounds us by Pastor Davis…

Thank you my brothers and sisters for listening, reading and studying the word of truth with us, and may the Lord our God bless and multiply your blessings many times over as you walk out your purpose doing the will of the Lord…

LET US PRAY:  Most Holy and all wise God our Heavenly Father, it is in the name of Jesus that we humbly enter into your presence this morning and seek your blessings over this service and the lives of all your children who have come in to worship you this day.  Father, open the eyes of those that are blind from spiritual insight and the ears of those who have not heard the truth of your word that they may receive a divine blessing this day. May the truth of what is said and done here in this service today reach out into all corners of the world and the lost souls in Jesus Christ will be prompted to change their ways and except the divine blessing of eternal life being offered up to them this day.  Let your will be done this day in the name of Jesus, who said if I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me.  In Jesus name we pray, AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!

A BETRAYER AT THE DINNER TABLE

A BETRAYER AT THE DINNER TABLE (MARK 14:17-20 AMP)

THE PLACE OF THE LAST SUPPER (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

THE PLACE OF THE LAST SUPPER (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

My brothers and sisters, this week allows us to go deep within ourselves and reflect upon that awesome moment in history that Jesus took upon His shoulders the agony of being beaten, humiliated in every way possible, suffering while being nailed and hanged upon a cross for all of our sins in order that we may have the opportunity to enjoy eternal life that God the father promised and sent His Son Jesus to die for.

Now use your imagination and image yourselves sitting down at the dinner table with family and friends and eating a well prepared meal as you discuss the family problems and current events which are suppose to be a very enjoyable moment.  Then image yourself not having the benefit of spiritual insight to know that one of your family members have been plotting behind your back to kill the head of your family, what would be your immediate reaction?  In the case of Jesus and His twelve disciples this is exactly what happen.

On that evening (Wednesday or Thursday), Jesus arrived in Jerusalem with the twelve disciples.  The meal was not to be eaten until after sunset and was supposed to be finished by midnight.

However, as Jesus and His Disciples were eating, Jesus spoke the stunning words, that quickly got the attention of everyone sitting around the dinner table that evening.  Jesus said, “One of you will betray me.”  The betrayer was one of his own chosen twelve disciples, a member of his own family, one with whom the meal was being shared.  Jesus words caused quite a stir among the disciples.  They had heard Jesus tell them three different times that he would soon die, but that one of them would actually betray Jesus saddened them greatly.

Although the other disciples were confused by Jesus words, Judas knew what he meant.  Apparently, Judas was not the obvious betrayer.  After all, he was the one the disciples trusted to keep the money.  Therefore, the disciples asked Jesus who the betrayer was; “I’m not the one, am I?” each one asked in turn.  Matthew records that even Judas asked the same question (Matthew 26:25).  Jesus knew that Judas was going to betray him, and he also knew that Judas would not repent.

In our studies we find that Luke wrote this about Satan, he said Satan entered into Judas Iscariot before he went to the religious leaders.  However, Satan’s part in the betrayal of Jesus does not remove any of the responsibility from Judas.  In God’s sovereign will and according  to his timetable, he uses sinful men.  But that doesn’t excuse their sin.  All people will be held accountable for their choices and actions.  Whatever Judas thought, Satan assumed that Jesus death would end Jesus mission and thwart God’s plan.  Like Judas, Satan did not know that Jesus death and resurrection were the most important parts of God’s plan all along.

All I can say in conclusion, is that this had to be one hellish feeling in the gut of each family member sitting around the dinner table that night knowing that one of them would betray the head of their family in such an evil way.

THE CROSS WAS THE WAY BACK TO THE KINGDOM

THE CROSS WAS THE WAY BACK TO THE KINGDOM (MARK 15:25-27)

The King of the Jews Crucifixion (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

And it was the third hour (about nine o’clock in the morning) when they crucified Him.  And the inscription of the accusation against Him was written above,

The King of the Jews.

And with Him they crucified two robbers, one on [His] right hand and one on His left.  And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, He was counted among the transgressors.

Jesus was placed on the cross at nine o’clock in the morning.  A signboard stating as a warning.  Because Jesus was never found guilty, the only accusation placed on his sign was the “crime” of calling himself King of the Jews.  This sign was meant to be ironic.  A king, stripped and executed in public view, had obviously lost his kingdom forever.  But Jesus, who turns the world’s wisdom upside down, was just coming into his kingdom.  His death and resurrection would strike the deathblow to Satan’s rule and would establish Christ’s eternal authority over the earth.  Few people reading the sign that bleak day understood its real meaning but the sign was absolutely true.  Jesus is king of the Jews, and the Gentiles, and the whole universe.

When James and John had asked Jesus for the places of honor next to him in his kingdom, Jesus had told them that they did not know what they were asking (Mark 10:35-39).  Here, as Jesus was preparing to inaugurate his kingdom through his death, the places on his right and on his left were taken by two criminals.

A person who wants to be close to Jesus must be prepared to suffer and die as he himself was doing.  The way to the kingdom is the way of the cross.  If we want the glory of the kingdom, we must be willing to be united with the crucified Christ.

CHALLENGE YOUR SELF THIS DAY TO BE JOYFUL

CHALLENGE YOUR SELF THIS DAY TO BE JOYFUL

For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers, and as a garden cascades with blossoms, So the Master, GOD, brings righteousness into full bloom and puts praise on display before the nations.” Isaiah 61:11 MSG (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers, and as a garden cascades with blossoms, So the Master, GOD, brings righteousness into full bloom and puts praise on display before the nations.” Isaiah 61:11 MSG (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Sing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth; break forth, O mountains, into singing! For the Lord has comforted his people and will have compassion on his afflicted. Isaiah 49:13

My question to you this day in offering up this challenge is very simple:  Is there anything too hard for God?  And if you said NO, my Challenge for you is:  “CHALLENGE YOURSELF THIS DAY TO BE JOYFUL.”  Now here is what you must do, “Take the very worst situation that you may face this day and look old Satan in the face, and say, “despite your efforts to turn me around, knock me down to the ground, still my peace and happiness, I will not succumb to your evil ways, I will face you down and rejoice in the joy that my God is providing me with.

Those of us who have learned to trust in God ought to exhibit a dramatically different, positive response to the difficult events of life.  Our attitude is to be one of genuine rejoicing.  This is not joyful anticipation for trials; instead, it is joy during trials.  The joy is based on confidence in the outcome of the trial.  It is the starting realization that trials represent the possibility of growth.

Rejoice and be Happy; BELIEVERS, it’s time to stop pretending to be happy.  It is time to put on your shouting shoes, get up out of your comfortable seats and rejoice in the goodness of the Lord.  Rejoicing goes beyond happiness.  Happiness centers on earthly circumstances and how well things are going here.  Joy centers on God and His presents in our experience.  Now listen careful to this very important message from Isaiah.  He says, “I will sing for joy in God, explode in praise from deep in my soul! He dressed me up in a suit of salvation; he outfitted me in a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom who puts on a tuxedo and a bride a jeweled tiara. For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers, and as a garden cascades with blossoms, So the Master, God, brings righteousness into full bloom and puts praise on display before the nations.” Isaiah 61:10-11 MSG

NOW REJOICE and  CHALLENGE YOUR SELF THIS DAY TO BE JOYFUL!

BEAT THE DEVIL AT HIS OWN GAME

BEAT THE DEVIL AT HIS OWN GAME

THE EARLY MORNING SUNRISE (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

THE EARLY MORNING SUNRISE (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

CHILDREN OF GOD, I declare to you that it is time for you to begin to fight the good fight and win.  You have been summed to come forward and BEAT THE DEVIL AT HIS OWN GAME, if you would stop being a couch potato, learn to walk by the Spirit, step outside and rediscover the beauty that God has blessed you to be able to see and observe.  Begin by taking a daily walk 30 minutes to an hour daily.  You will soon discover your physical strength returning to you, your spiritual mind has taken control and now you are beginning to walk by the true spirit of God.  You see your body is an electrical and mechanically flesh and blood piece of machinery.  It responds to the signals given to it by the minds energy field.

Now let us look at just how we can obtain that goal:  You have heard the expression, he or she is just a couch potato.  There is no need for you to allow this to happen to you.  You can start by pushing the off button on that remote that lays beside you in the bed are on the couch.  You see the T.V. has become the devil’s greatest avenue of convincing you that he is in control of your life. He acts out your life for you; he carries on the conversation in your house for you.  He thinks for you.  Finally, when he has total control of your mind and body, he zaps your physical strength by keeping you in bondage as a couch potato where he can watch over you.  You never seen to have the strength are desire to do any type of physical exercise.

Your batteries need to be recharged regularly in order for you to function at your maximum capacity, and one of the ways to recharge those batteries is a daily walk.  Do not just stroll down the walkway in a hurry to return for more of the devil’s old games.  Make your walk meaningful by looking around, relaxing and becoming one with God, the universe is there waiting for you to re-discover.

God’s ideal for the believer is that we live our lives in the realm of the Holy SpiritWalking in the Spirit, the exercise we should strive for refers to one’s lifestyle.  In other words, we are to live a lifestyles characterized by the Person and work of the Spirit of God.  To be led by the Spirit suggests that same Spirit directs our lifestyle.  It means we allow Him to point the way, to navigate us through the turns and intersections of life.

SANCTUARY OF PRAYER (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

SANCTUARY OF PRAYER (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

When you are truly walking by the Spirit, in line with the Spirit, maintaining your cover and alignment, you cannot be seen; only He can be seen.  When people look at you, they see Him.  When you speak, He speaks.  Walking in the Spirit is not so much you becoming an extension of God the Holy Spirit, but the Spirit of God living in you, living through you, touching lives through you, and blessing others through you.

Walking by the Spirit means you stay in line with God.  It means you do not break the line.  It means you do not get out of line.  You do not move until it is your turn.   It means you live your life following the lead of the Holy Spirit.

Some of you are losing battles you should be winning because you are not in shape.  It is not just that Satan and his pimps are on your trail.  Some demons cannot be cancelled out.  They have to be cast out.  Jesus said some demons come out only by fasting and prayer.  Fasting and
prayer are essential exercises.  Some of you are holy but ungodly.  You come to church every Sunday, but you are not in shape.  You cannot work out once a week and expect to see results.  Walking through the gym once a week does not get you in shape.  God has called you to be a godly woman or a godly man.  He wants your relationship with Him to be manifested in your conduct and actions.  Godliness is not measured by your behavior in church or the way you conduct yourself in the spotlight.  God wants you to leave your church seat, walk out of the door back out into the world, and do what He has called you to do, the way He has called you to do it.

SERENITY (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

SERENITY (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

It is time to get in shape.  Sign up for a heavenly gym membership.  There is open enrollment.  And what a deal!  Jesus paid the price in full at Calvary.  But don’t be satisfied with just signing
up.  Go on and work out.  Stick with the program.  You will soon see the results you have been
looking for.  Remember, winners never quit and quitters never win.  Now is the time to get up off that couch, stop being called a couch potato and begin to fight to win.  Learn to walk by the
Spirit and be counted among the stars.

But I say walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God). (Galatians 5:16 AMP)

BEAT THE DEVIL AT HIS OWN GAME, and begin to live in the newness of this life been renewed by the Holy Spirit as He lifts you to heights unknown and unthinkable by you in this space and time.  “DO IT NOW!”

WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES:

FOLLOWING GOD’S PLAN SECURES OUR FREEDOM, our journey into the world comes with all sorts of human weakness but it is not the plan of God that any should be lost. In his word we are able to develop strength and courage to weather the storms of life if we are willing to accept him as our savior and walk in faith. We are not promised that the journey will be easy but we are encouraged by the words Jesus spoke when he said, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11: 29-30: NKJV)

FOLLOWING GOD’S PLAN SECURES OUR FREEDOM; therefore, we must “lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1-2)

FOLLOWING GOD’S PLAN SECURES OUR FREEDOM; as we journey we must remember that we are not beyond the desire of Satan’s attempt to cause us to detour from the course set before us. We must prepare for the battle of our very souls; therefore, we must gird ourselves in the “whole armor.” Scripture reminds us, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (the ruler of darkness). (Ephesians 6:11), your armor consist of truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, the Word of God and prayer. Clothed in this armor you will be able to repel the forces of evil.

We must learn to put our trust in God, rely on his Word as our compass among chaos and instability in the world; FOLLOWING GOD’S PLAN SECURES OUR FREEDON, because he lifts us to a level far beyond the elements of this world.
