This question may seem strange to some; Do You Have What it takes to Stand Firm with Power? In all actuality it is a defining question if your goal is to live out your created purpose. The Christian journey is an opportunity to share life’s teachings, so don’t waste time needlessly because your journey is God given, your destination is where you’ll spend eternity.

When you make the decision to follow Jesus your life takes on a different meaning, there will be life changes that often seem unbearable, you lose many “friends” and often members of your own family may withdraw because they have not yet been able to grasp the entire picture.

A servant, a follower of Jesus can expect hard times, tough times, hard work and dedication, but learn to take it all in joy knowing the purpose of their calling.  The servant or follower is encouraged to reach out to the lost and those seeking to know more about this wonderful relationship so graciously offered.

Remember the Great Commission as Jesus instructed: “Go into the entire world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15) We are to familiarize ourselves with this thought; “to every creature” so that everyone may know their freedom has been brought and paid for in full by a resurrected Savior.

Once you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit the question, Do You Have What it takes to Stand Firm with Power should become a part of who you are in Christ.  Remember when Jesus called the Twelve together, how he gave them power and authority and to proclaim the kingdom of God? (Luke 9:1-7 NIV) that same power lives today in true believers because it is God given.

In order to work under the anointing of the Holy Spirit your character must be that of clear thinking, gentleness, holiness, and honest love. We are called to work, as believers we become one body in Christ and all power was given to Jesus by God for Jesus so stated: “His Father have given him power over all flesh “(John 17:2) through his sacrifice we are able to share in that gift. Through him we are encouraged to use our gifts as instruments of peace sharing his gospel with others. Do you have what it takes to stand firm with power?

Stand Firm

Stand Firm (Photo credit: WELS.net)

For we are many members in one body, and all members have not the same office (Romans 12:4), knowing this gives each of us the opportunity to develop and enhance whatever that gift is to draw the lost, it may be a gift of  prophecy, ministry, or  teaching, whatever your calling is prepare your hearts and spirit for opposition. Always remember God has created and assigned you with purpose; therefore, as long as you’re in Christ Jesus nothing or no one can tear you down, but the attempt will be made. In your weakest moments, trials and struggles, do you have what it takes to stand firm with power?

Jesus is your Master, salvation comes through him, in obedience and faith embrace his teachings, follow his pattern for life and you’ll never regret one moment because your destination is not earthly but heavenly (eternal). Dedicate your entire being before God, and watch how he changes you from inside out, how he is able to bring the very best in you to the surface. Put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:11-18),  when you’re confronted with discouragement and find yourself wondering, do you have what it takes to stand firm with power, you’ll know the answer at the appointed time.

Today My Brothers and Sisters, I thank God for each of you who take the time to visit with us, read and study and share the important lessons with your followers, families and friends. May the Lord bless you and your ministries abundantly in Jesus name, Amen!

The people chooses a murder over the Messiah

THE PEOPLE CHOOSES A MURDER OVER THE MESSIAH

PILATE WASHED HIS HANDS OF THE SITUATION (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Today as we  think on all the good things Jesus has done for each one of us, and if you were one of those people in the crowd more than 2000 years ago would you make the same choice as they did.  How can you be certain that you would or would not?  On what basics are you making your decision?

Now let us look at how scripture records that event.  We know from our studies that the Jewish leaders clamored for Jesus’ death, while a Gentile woman believed that Jesus was truly innocent.

People of these times placed a great deal of importance on dreams.  God was sending a warning to Pilate through his wife, but he did not heed it.  Pilate’ fear of losing his very prestige job made him not listen to his wife with the warning God had given to her to give to her husband.  Listen to the message she sent to her husband, 19Also, while he was seated on the judgment bench, his wife sent him a message, saying, Have nothing to do with that just and upright Man, for I have had a painful experience today in a dream because of Him.”  (Matthew 27:19 AMP).

Now Pilate is caught up in a situation is regardless to how he truly feels about it and the fact that his wife is pressing upon him not to go through with it, if he wants to keep his job and prevent a riot from taking place, he must complete the task.  All the religious leaders went among the crowd, persuading the people to call for Barabbas to be released.  This is how the Bible describes the situation; 20But the chief priests and the elders prevailed on the people to ask for Barabbas, and put Jesus to death.  21Again the governor said to them, which of the two do you wish me to release for you? And they said, Barabbas!  Matthew 27:20-21)

The people knew that Barabbas was a revolutionary and a murderer, yet they still chose him over the Son of God, one who had done so much for them.  Faced with the same choice today, people are still choosing “Barabbas.”  They would rather have the tangible force of human power than the salvation offered by the Son of God.  Now think on this for a moment and look at your own life.

The crowd has really been wiped into frenzy and Pilate is caught in one big mess, so he says this to the crowd, “Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?  23They all replied, Let Him be crucified! And he said, Why? What has He done that is evil? But they shouted all the louder, Let Him be crucified!”

24So when Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but rather that a riot was about to break out, he took water and washed his hands in the presence of the crowd, saying, I am not guilty of nor responsible for this righteous Man’s blood; see to it yourselves. (Matthew 27:22-23 AMP)

This hand washing was performed as a gesture of innocence to show that one had nothing to do with a murder, was a Jewish custom, not a Roman one (Deuteronomy 21:6-9).  In trying to excuse himself and place the responsibility for an innocent man’s death on them, he followed the path already taken by the religious leaders as they dealt with Judas in 27:4, saying, “The responsibility is yours!”  In making no decision, Pilate made the decision to let the crowds crucify Jesus.  Although he washed his hands, the guilt remained.  How do you feel after you physically wash your hands, of a situation that you have been heavily involved in that you know was wrong?

CHOOSE WELL YOUR WORDS

Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth President of th...

ABRAHAM LINCOLN THE 16th PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

The dictionary is full of words.  It is how words are used that makes the big difference.  Words can lift us into heaven or lower us into hell…  “Good words anoint a man, ill words kill a man,” wrote John Florio.

Words sung in a lullaby can put a babe to sleep; words of hatred and passion can arouse a mob to violence.

Words have both the explosive power of a nuclear bomb and the soothing effect of oil on troubled waters.  They can start a war or they can keep the peace.

Your knowledge of words is to use them creatively; to select and arrange them to inspire the mind, stir the heart, lift the spirit…

Words of encouragement fan the spark of genius into the flame of achievement.  Legend tells us that Lincoln’s dying mother called her small son to her bedside and whispered, “Be somebody, Abe!”

Words are magnets that draw back to us the thoughts they express.  “Beware, beware!” warned the Hindu mystic.  “What goes forth from you will come back to you.”

Words are the pegs on which we hang creative ideas.  We must put our dreams into eloquent words that others may be persuaded to help us build them into realities.  This proverb of Solomon says it well:  “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.”

Words of faith, hope and courage lift men upward.  Negative words drag men downward.  “Nerve us up with incessant affirmatives,” counseled Emerson; “don’t waste yourself in rejection, nor bark against the bad, but chant the beauty of the good.  When that is spoken which has a right to be spoken, the chatter and the criticism will stop.”

Words are symbols of man’s finest qualities.  Words such as valiant, radiant, triumphant, vibrant, heroic… These are words to live by!

Words are a dynamic force for changing men and nations.  Words of power burst in man’s mind with a great light, to illuminate his thoughts and show him the way.

Choose well your words!  They will go marching down the years in the lives you touch!

Thank you for studying this lesson with us today, may it be a blessing to your soul.

How to harvest the power to heal your physical body Lesson 2

Obtaining Knowledge to power the healing in your physical body

Knowledge

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6)

by Pastor Davis Byars

Today let us begin this lesson with the word, “knowledge,” which is of priceless value, because by applying knowledge we can make our future what we wish it to be.  When we realize that our present character, our present environment, our present ability, our present physical condition are all the result of past methods of thinking, we shall begin to have some conception of the value of knowledge.

The question then becomes, what is knowledge?  The dictionary tells us that Knowledge is facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.”a thirst for knowledge

The Bible says in Hosea 4:6 “That my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”  Let us understand this simple truth and that is Knowledge is knowledge 03everywhere and it is available to us at all times, but when we do not avail ourselves to the truth of things that pertain to the Word of God on living our lives in wellness at all times, we as Children of God will surely perish.  That is why the Bible says, “that my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”

If the state of our health is not all that could be desired, let us examine our method of thinking, let us remember that every thought produces an impression on the mind; every impression is a seed which will sink into the subconscious and form a tendency. The tendency will be to attract other similar thoughts and before we know it we shall have a crop which must be harvested.

If these thoughts contain disease germs, the harvest will be sickness, decay, weakness, and failure; the question is, what are we thinking, what are we creating, what is the harvest to be?

We know that without the knowledge and understanding of how our own bodies function to keep us well we will sub-come to the elements that surrounds us in our everyday living.  It is the knowledge of the power that is within that lifts us out of the powerful forces that are outside of our bodies and minds.

When the winter months come upon us, we begin to here all the news flash about colds, flu epidemics spreading across the world.  Our minds immediately go to work thinking knowledge 01about when we are going to catch one of these flu bugs and some of the many germs that are spreading around us.  Why do we believe that just because colds and flu bugs are around us, we have to catch them and become sick?

For me, I don’t catch colds, I do not get sick; why?  Because I do not allow my mind to think sickness, I have knowledge of how my body operates to keep me in perfect health, the same knowledge that is available to each of you when you avail yourselves to it and allow the Holy Spirit to work on the inside of you.

You are not bound by any power outside your own wrong thoughts, and you can free yourself from your enslaving thoughts.  Here are some of the thoughts you need to be delivered from: “ I cannot rise up, I cannot break away from my bad habits, I cannot alter my nature, I cannot control or conquer myself, I cannot cease from the sins I am caught up in, All these cannot’s, should have no existence in any believer, or to the things to which they submit, they exist only in thought and because ones on lack of Knowledge.

All of these bad thoughts and habits need to be eradicated and replaced with the thoughts from the fruits of the “I can do spirit.”  I can do all things through God who lives in me, strengthens me and leads me in the path of righteousness for his name sake. By replacing the negative with the positive, the healing process that exists within us, our physical bodies can be transformed into a brand new instrument.  Our DNA was uniquely designed to provide us with all the necessary healing power that neither outside medication, nor Doctor can begin to match.

This concludes Lesson 2, we will continue with lesson 3 on Friday as we talk about “Reprogramming your Mind for total healing.”  Please do not miss any of these great lesson and please share them in your social media, reblog them in order that someone else you may or may not know can receive the healing they deserve…

Time to Free your Mind and Live Free (Part 3)

POWER OF FLIGHT (Photo by Pastor Davis)

POWER OF FLIGHT (Photo by Pastor Davis)

“NO MAN HOLDS POWER OVER YOU EXCEPT THE ONE YOU GIVE THE AUTHORITY TO DO SO!”

You are the ruler of your life, you are the head and not the tail; you have awesome power given to you by the maker and creator of this world.  “No man holds power over you but the one you give to hold such power” And when you are ready to make the change and your determination is so great that you are willing to do whatever is necessary to be the true ruler of your life, the new person in you will show up and provide you with unlimited power to take flight, and nothing nor no one can stop you from rising to take your place in this world of great abundance.

Remember, in the past you have allowed yourself to live in captivity, with your mind in bondage, you were drug down, step on, and the invisible yoke of bondage put around your neck, and the heavy bondage of life worries placed upon your back.  The thief came in the front door and stole all the love and joy away from you.

You were unable to hold onto your job, your husband or wife walked out on you, your children, family and friends all seem to give up on you.  You begin to live with misery and pain, the whole world seem to be caving in on you, and there seen to be nowhere to turn are no one to turn to and therefore all your earthly goods and everything that you had perceived as good was stolen away from you.

But there was one who was still waiting for you to call out His name, because He had promised you that He would never leave you nor forsake you, nor would He ever put on you more than you could bear.  His name is Jesus, He was still carrying you when everyone else had knocked you down, stepped on you and scandalized your name.

You must learn to thank Him and praise His Holy name during the good times and when trouble comes upon you, things will not seem quite so difficult.

This concludes part 3 of “TIME TO FREE YOUR MIND AND LIVE FREE!” We will continue this discussion in our Monday’s Word of Encouragement.  Please visit us tomorrow morning for our Saturday Morning Devotional Prayer and Praise Service, and again on Sunday for our Sunday Morning Prayer Praise and Worship Service 106
