How do we repair a major breach in our lives, when that breach is the glue that binds us together?  Jesuscommanded us to love one another.  Love our neighbor as ourselves.  The very first thing we need to do is to get Jesus into our homes, schools, communities, workplace and everywhere we work and playJesus is love; he is alpha and omega, the beginning and the end.  He is the author and finisher of ourfaith.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’  But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. (Matthew 5:43-48 ESV).

When you commit yourself to love as Jesus did, you bind up the wounds of hate, sickness, and all sort of diseases that enter into your physical body and destroys your quality of life.  In order for you to HEAL and be made whole you must learn and practice the art of FORGIVENESS.

FORGIVENESS works two ways.  You must forgive to be forgiven.  For every person has the need to be forgiven.

Forgiveness should become a habit.  When Peter ask Jesus how often should I forgive a person for the crimes that they have committed against me, Jesus answered and said, “Until seventy times seven.”  He who forgives to infinity will never hate.

Forgiveness should start now.  Putting off forgiving only deepens the wound.  Clinging to bitterness postpones happiness.  Life is short, time is fleeting.  Today is the day to forgive.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE READING (LOVE YOUR ENEMIES)

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE READING (LOVE YOUR ENEMIES)

“You’re familiar with the old written law, ‘Love your friend,’ and its unwritten companion, ‘Hate your enemy.’ I’m challenging that. I’m telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best—the sun to warm and the rain to nourish—to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty. If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that. If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that.” Matthew 5:43-45 MSG
