Be Encouraged by the Word of God

PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD

THE CROSS IS THE HEART OF GOD (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Good Morning to all God’s people where ever you may be, it is Monday Morning, the beginning of a brand new week.  As you leave your homes and families and begin your journey to execute the task that you have been given, we want you to be encouraged by the word of God, with His entire blessings of love, peace and power, to overcome the many trials and tribulations that will come upon you this day. “PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD!”

We encourage you, in all that you may do, too know the truth, know the word and use it as your weapon to fight evil wherever it may exist.  For this is truly a brand new day that God has made for you and I to rejoice and be glad in it.  He has chosen each one of you for a very specific task this week and he has given you a purpose for carrying it out, and pointed you in the right direction that will enable you to be successful on your all important assignment.

Now finally, the people of God, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of Godpraying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.

To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.  (Ephesians 6:10-20 ESV)

Now have no doubts that the devil is waiting to take you down, and keep you from receiving your crown, but the choice is yours, obey the word of God and the devil can never be in charge. PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD.  We bless this word to you this morning that you will receive it in the manner that it is given and share it with all those that you love as a word of encouragement and protection of their souls, in Jesus name, AMEN!

Now may the peace of the Lord rest and resize with you throughout your journey through space and time this week.  Live, love and enjoy all that has been set before you at the table of blessings, for it is truly yours given in love by the abundant hands of the one who holds all things in the palm of His ever loving hands.

FATHERS ROLE AS LEADERS IN THE AMERICAN FAMILY

FATHERS ROLE AS LEADERS IN THE AMERICAN FAMILY

WHY ARE FAMILIES BREAKING DOWN?

TRAVIS CHAPEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH CLEVELAND, GA. (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

TRAVIS CHAPEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH CLEVELAND, GA. (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

WRITTEN BY PASTOR TERRY COOMER                                                                                                 Elwood Bible Baptist Church, Elwood, Indiana 46036

THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR IN THE BREAKDOWN OF THE HOME IS FATHERS NOT FULFILLING THEIR BIBLICAL ROLE OF LEADERSHIP IN THE HOME. This is the most important reason for unhappy families.

God says, worship is to be led by the father. “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him and they shall keep the way of the Lord to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him” (Genesis 18:9).

Most fathers I know could care less. This is a wicked thing. There is more to being a father than just producing children. The lack of leadership by the father today in every area is the most important factor in the breakdown of the American home. I pray the Lord will give us more men like Joshua.

Joshua 24:14-15, “Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.”

There has to be a consecration by dad. There is more to a marriage than just living together in a physical relationship.

Lack of godly male leadership brings about the disastrous consequences of rebellion, delinquency, and sexual promiscuity. Divorce is usually caused by a father not taking his Biblical responsibilities and is something God hates, (See Malachi 2:12-17. Matthew 19:5-6.)

The most important cause of divorce in America is the lack of proper, godly leadership by the father and husband. It is also the most frequent cause of children’s feelings of rejection, behavioral problems, and anxieties.  Ephesians 6:1-4. Notice in verse 4, “And ye fathers provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” The word “wrath” means a strong desire to avenge. How does a father provoke a child to wrath? By not bringing him up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord; Nurture means training with structure. Most fathers have no desire for the Word of God and they are raising angry vengeful children because they are not committed to training their children in spiritual principles as God commands. Of course, they cannot train the child if they are ignorant of God’s principles themselves. That is a picture of the American father.

David Blankenhorn in his 1995 book, Fatherless America,” says “the culture change from a stable, two parent home to the father’s abandonment of his responsibilities of marriage and parenting is America’s most urgent social problem. The father’s absence is the main reason for unhappy homes, many current social problems, and is a national crisis of our time.”

According to the National Fatherhood Institute, 40% of the children in the United States have not seen their father for a year! In the last 15 years “fatherless” children jumped from 10.2 million to 15.6 million. 70% of juveniles in detention centers and reformatories are children of fatherless homes. Statistics indicate that “violent criminals” are overwhelmingly males who grew up without a father’s leadership. This includes 60% of America’s rapists, 72% of adolescent murders, and 70% of long-term prison inmates. One out of every four high school seniors graduate functionally illiterate. It is more than a physical presence. There are many homes where a father is there, but that is all. They want all their needs fulfilled, but do not want to take the spiritual, godly, or normal leadership that God intended. Instead children grow up listening to their parents fight, cuss, yell, scream, spend money on all kinds of entertainment and material possessions trying to be happy.

The father’s failure to take responsibility and leadership in the home has created a valueless, unhappy, fractured home and society. This failure has had a devastating effect on our children and has spawned a multitude of wicked societal problems including delinquency, sexual promiscuity, drug use, and violence.

The family is in trouble in America because men fail to be the leaders God wants them to be. We desperately need to pray for the men of this country to do as God has commanded. The results of the men not obeying God have been disastrous. The great need is for men to repent of their sins, to really come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and then to be obedient to the commands of God from His Word. Men must be the leaders God desires them to be. May God help us to pray for the men of America.

WEDNESDAY INSPIRATIONAL AND MOTIVATIONAL SERVICE (BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED 004)

WEDNESDAY INSPIRATIONAL AND MOTIVATIONAL SERVICE (BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED 004)

Greetings my brothers and sisters, today in our WEDNESDAY EMPOWERMENT SESSION,  I can stand before you and testify that, “I AM TRULY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED!” “ARE YOU?   If not, you should be, for the Lord our God has chosen his elect to shower His favor upon them.  God’s blessings and favor are for those who are willing to be obedient to his Word, do his will, and keep his Commandments. When the Lord Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit, he said three times that the blessing was for the obedient.” If ye love me, ye will keep my Commandments: and I will pray the father, and he shall send you the comforter that he may abide with you forever.” (John 14:15 – 16 KJV)

YOU ARE BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED

It is my strong belief that God has given you a testimony when he picked you up and took you out of the hands of the enemy, and delivered you from the many trials and tribulations of this life, put food on your table, clothes on your back, provided you with shelter from the storms, and allowed you to walk through the valley of the shadow of death, when your enemies had their sights set on destroying you and all that God had provided for you. He gave you HOPE and a brand new life, then he  prepared a table for you in the presence of your enemies, he placed a hedge around you that no weapon that is formed against you will ever prosper. God did all of this in the presence of the enemy because he favored you over your enemies. Therefore my brothers and sisters, you should be able to stand in the presence of your enemies and say with a loud voice of authority, “I AM BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED!”

For truly when God blesses you, he wants you to use your blessing and bless others.  This is what the Lord says about a blessed person, he says, “Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.”

But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.

And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].  (Psalm 1:1-3 AMP)

Now let there be no doubt, the person who live according to these precepts is truly, “BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED!” Therefore this kind of person shall prosper in everything he undertakes. The reason, of course, is that he lives in fellowship with the Lord, and all of his service is therefore guided by the Holy Spirit. The only way to be efficient and successful in the Christian life is to be led by the Holy Spirit of God. The Lord knows the way of the righteous. He is not only aware of their lives, but he approves them, he blesses them and he lifts them high in his favor.  “TODAY I AM BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED OF THE LORD!”

CHALLENGE YOUR SELF THIS DAY TO BE JOYFUL

CHALLENGE YOUR SELF THIS DAY TO BE JOYFUL

For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers, and as a garden cascades with blossoms, So the Master, GOD, brings righteousness into full bloom and puts praise on display before the nations.” Isaiah 61:11 MSG (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers, and as a garden cascades with blossoms, So the Master, GOD, brings righteousness into full bloom and puts praise on display before the nations.” Isaiah 61:11 MSG (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Sing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth; break forth, O mountains, into singing! For the Lord has comforted his people and will have compassion on his afflicted. Isaiah 49:13

My question to you this day in offering up this challenge is very simple:  Is there anything too hard for God?  And if you said NO, my Challenge for you is:  “CHALLENGE YOURSELF THIS DAY TO BE JOYFUL.”  Now here is what you must do, “Take the very worst situation that you may face this day and look old Satan in the face, and say, “despite your efforts to turn me around, knock me down to the ground, still my peace and happiness, I will not succumb to your evil ways, I will face you down and rejoice in the joy that my God is providing me with.

Those of us who have learned to trust in God ought to exhibit a dramatically different, positive response to the difficult events of life.  Our attitude is to be one of genuine rejoicing.  This is not joyful anticipation for trials; instead, it is joy during trials.  The joy is based on confidence in the outcome of the trial.  It is the starting realization that trials represent the possibility of growth.

Rejoice and be Happy; BELIEVERS, it’s time to stop pretending to be happy.  It is time to put on your shouting shoes, get up out of your comfortable seats and rejoice in the goodness of the Lord.  Rejoicing goes beyond happiness.  Happiness centers on earthly circumstances and how well things are going here.  Joy centers on God and His presents in our experience.  Now listen careful to this very important message from Isaiah.  He says, “I will sing for joy in God, explode in praise from deep in my soul! He dressed me up in a suit of salvation; he outfitted me in a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom who puts on a tuxedo and a bride a jeweled tiara. For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers, and as a garden cascades with blossoms, So the Master, God, brings righteousness into full bloom and puts praise on display before the nations.” Isaiah 61:10-11 MSG

NOW REJOICE and  CHALLENGE YOUR SELF THIS DAY TO BE JOYFUL!

CHILDREN OF GOD, we have come to the end of the year 2013, and set to enter into a brand new year with great expectations, with great hopes, joy and thanksgiving for all that God has blessed us to have and what He is offering us for this coming year.  With all the many wonderful blessings we have been given, our hearts should be full of nothing but praises.  So let us lift Him up on this last Sunday of 2013 with songs of praises and a heart that has been made for worship, For He is truly worthy of all our praises.  Prayer and Praises is what I do, so humbly ask you to join in with me this day and let us lift His Holy name up in Prayer, Praise and Worship this day in a very special way.  Be Bold in your Praises this day and let the world know that you are a prayer warrior and you will not allow nothing to come before your prayer and praises for what God has done for you.  Let it begin NOW! TODAY’S SCRIPTURE IS:     (James 4:13-17 NIV)

Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.”Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.

TODAY’S MESSAGE:

LIFE PROCEEDS FROM YOUR MIND

Let us understand that our brand new life proceeds from the thoughts we entertain in our minds.  Therefore, I ask this question to see how many of you have thought about it and answered it honestly for yourselves.  Knowing that it was truly a day of celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, how did you center your thoughts upon this fact as you shared your moments with your children, family and friends?  Now think deeply upon it because the memories will help you live, enjoy and appreciate all there is to come from this day forward.  Remember, everything begins from the inside, your thoughts, your actions and who you are all begins in your mind with whatever your thoughts are.

When a person realizes that life in its totality proceeds from the mind, and to the way of blessedness is opened to him or her; they will then discover that they possess the power to rule their own mind, and to fashion it in accordance with their own thoughts and ideals.  At this point you will elect to strongly and steadfastly walk those path ways of thought and action which are altogether excellent; your life will become beautiful and sacred; and, sooner or later, you will put to flight all evil, confusion, and suffering; for it is impossible for a person to fall short of liberation, enlightenment, and peace who guards with unwearyingly diligence the gateway of their mind.

This year has truly been a profound blessing for those whose thoughts have been centered upon the Lord and have allowed the Lord to use them for the greater good of all mankind.  Now that the old year is coming to an end, and a brand new year is about to begin, let us change the way we see the world and all the people the Lord brings us in contact with.  Let us use our mind’s to sow good seeds so that in 2014 the manifestation of what we sow will be great rewards that will lift us to higher places than ever before.

OUR SONG OF PRAISE IS FROM OUR MUSICAL VIDEO SILENT NIGHT:

Mary is the type of woman who puts her faith into action.  She not only says :Lord your will be done, but she also hurries to see God at work in the life of her relative Elizabeth.  The journey to Judea that Mary took was not a simple drive to the next town.  It was a difficult journey that would have taken at least three days at that time.  Mary did not let that stop her from going to Elizabeth rejoicing with her, and praising the Lord for fulfilling His promises.  Click on this short video clip and let’s watch together.

Good Morning CHILDREN OF GOD, we have entered into the Lord’s class room of higher learning this morning to continue our Christmas Service and the Spirit of Christmas in lifting up our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the highest praises and thanksgiving for our deliverances, as we celebrate His magnificent birth more than 2000 years ago.  We are truly blessed to be in His Holy presence this morning as one people to praise and honor God for sending us a Savior.  Therefore, let us together share in what God has set before us this day with this short video clip of Silent Night.

SONG OF PRAISE SILENT NIGHT:

Mary is the type of woman who puts her faith into action.  She not only says :Lord your will be done, but she also hurries to see God at work in the life of her relative Elizabeth.  The journey to Judea that Mary took was not a simple drive to the next town.  It was a difficult journey that would have taken at least three days at that time.  Mary did not let that stop her from going to Elizabeth rejoicing with her, and praising the Lord for fulfilling His promises.  Click on this short video clip and let’s watch together.

LET US PRAY FOR PEACE:

Father in Heaven, we honor you and we praise you this day for sending us a divine savior to bring joy into our hearts and peace on earth to all mankind.  We know that there is much work to be done to change the harden hearts and unbelieving minds; that we as a people can live together as one people serving one God and have complete peace without wars and fighting among each other.  But we as believers know that you are God and God all by yourself, therefore Father, we pray for divine intervention in this world, in this season that the hearts and minds of mankind everywhere will be changed in such a way that peace and goodwill towards all people will break out all over the world.  We seek this peace in the name of Jesus, AMEN!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE THE BIRTH OF JESUS FORETOLD  (LUKE 1:26-30 ESV)

In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”  Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God.

THE GOOD NEWS WORSHIP MESSAGE:

An Angel promises the birth of Jesus to Mary.  Six months after Gabriel delivered God’s message to Zechariah, God sent the angel with another message, this time to a virgin named Mary.  The angel Gabriel had also appeared to the prophet Daniel more than five hundred years earlier.  Each time Gabriel appeared he brought important messages from God, this time was no exception, he was bringing THE GOOD NEWS to a virgin named Mary.  Let’s watch and see her reaction.

Our God is truly an awesome God, and His message and gift to us is a powerful one.  Now let us conclude our Praise and Worship Service with our final video of Silent Night.

Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings have been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith—to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH OUR WEDNESDAY PRAYER AND PRAISE SERVICE

LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH OUR WEDNESDAY PRAYER AND PRAISE SERVICE

CHRISTMAS THE SIGN OF PEACE (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

CHRISTMAS THE SIGN OF PEACE (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Written by Shirley Rhodes

CHILDREN OF GOD, let us begin our WEDNESDAY PRAYER AND PRAISE SERVICE by uniting our minds together as one in the Body of Christ, as we pray for PEACE to break out all over the world. Let us pray for one another as we lay aside our difference and allow our light to shine so that others will see the love of God shinning forth from deep inside our hearts.

During this same period last year the world was in mourning for the families and victims of the Newtown, Connecticut tragedy.  Let us continue to keep these families lifted up in our prayers.  Today, the world is mourning the lost of President Nelson Mandela,  one of the World’s greatest leaders who was the living embodiment of Peace. Let us continue in Prayer for His family and His Country as one people, united in the Body of Christ for Peace and Goodwill towards all men.

LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH AND LET IT BEGIN WITH ME!  The question we should ask ourselves is this, “Is peace possible (personal or worldwide)?” Now I ask you to take a moment and examine that question or thought and consider this; that in order to live in a world where peace exists we have to get it right or else there will be no peace.  Now as you think deeply on this very important question, remember the season that we are living in and know that Jesus is the reason for the season.  Click on this video clip and allow the calmness of the moment to come over you, then complete the reading of this important lesson.

Jesus came and preached peace to those who had never heard of God and to those who had heard of him, so we all stand the same ground, and share in an offer of hope and promise. For he is our peace (Ephesians 2:14 KJV); The Lord will give strength to his people; and will bless his people with peace (Psalm 29:11).  Christ brought us together through his death on the cross; through him we share the same Spirit and have equal access to the Father. We all belong here, we are part of Gods’ plan, and it is through him we find peace by surrendering our lives to his will and being obedient to his call. We are able to reach others when we allow our lives to demonstrate working of the Holy Spirit within and around us as we share the gift of love.

Scripture reminds us that the one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us (1 John 3:24 NIV)).

Peace keeper:

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, and The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end (Isaiah 9:6-7 KJV).  With our mind set on pleasing God, (total surrender), peace will come.

Scripture reminds us that: He will keep us in perfect peace when our mind is centered on him and we put all our trust in him.  So we must learn to trust In the Lord forever; for the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength (Isaiah 26: 3-4).  Paul reminds us to: Be strong in the Lord, take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. Put them to use so you will be able to stand up to every-thing the Devil throws your way.

Be prepared;  truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words, learn how to apply them, pray hard and long, pray for each other and keep your eyes open. (Ephesians 6: 10-18 MGS).

So in the midst this holiday season let us remain focused in all we do and think while remembering to keep Jesus at the center of our activities. Praise the Lord our God and worship at his footstool for he is holy. Praise the Lord our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the Lord our God is holy.

Let this be a time of celebration so much that people every-where will honor our Savior with thanksgiving and praise.  May our hearts be at peace, and let us remember to take a moment out of our day and pray for peace around the world, remembering that there is power in prayer. Jesus is our open door for the peace we seek.

Lift up your eyes toward heaven and thank God for his Son; let this be a time of sharing and giving love to others out of the depth of our hearts, love that is genuine. May peace be yours!

NOW LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH, GOOD WILL TOWARDS ALL MEN, AND LET IT BEGIN WITH ME!  In Jesus name we pray, AMEN!

SERMON ON THE MOUNT Photo taken near Salt Lake City, Utah Photo by Pastor Davis

CHILDREN OF GOD, it is truly the SEASON to be filled with joy, for the Lord our God has bestowed upon each one of us many great and wonderful BLESSINGS throughout this year.  As the year begin to come to a close and the birth of our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST, is near, the Spirit of the Lord prompted me to remind each of you just how BLESSED you readily are because He spoke these words as a reminder from HIS SERMON ON THE MOUNT.

When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. Arriving at a quiet place, he sat down and taught his climbing companions. This is what he said:

“You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.

“You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.

“You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.

“You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.

“You’re blessed when you care. At the moment of being ‘care-full,’ you find yourselves cared for.

“You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.

“You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.

“You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.

“Not only that—count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—give a cheer, even!—for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble. (Matthew 5:1-12 MSG)

Brothers and Sisters, the Lord has spoken these words to you.  I ENCOURAGE you to stay focus and keep your eye on the prize during this CHRISTMAS SEASON.  Never forget that JESUS is the reason for the SEASON.

BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN GROW UP IN THE GRACE OF JESUS CHRIST

BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN GROW UP IN THE GRACE OF JESUS CHRIST

THE SON OF RIGHTEOUSNESS (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

THE SON OF RIGHTEOUSNESS (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

CHILDREN OF GOD, as we stand before the throne of grace, in the awesome power of God who holds the entire UNIVERSE in the palm of His Hands, we are asking you to CONCEIVE and BELIEVE in your MINDS that we can, “GROW UP IN THE GRACE OF JESUS CHRIST.”

Therefore, as we enter into this CHRISTMAS SEASON, we ask you simply to BELIEVEBELIEVE that we were created in the image of God and given His Character that we may grow up in His grace.  We can do nothing of our own.  Our growth is totally depended upon the actions of God.  Everything in the Universe was created by God and for God that it may grow and flourish in the manner God has chosen it to be.  Therefore, as a newborn creature in this life, “our mission is to grow up in the grace of Jesus Christ.”

Now the question becomes, how do we accomplish our mission that God has given us?  As with all life, so it is with growth.  We must learn to lean and depend on the maker and giver of all life.  Know that it is only God, who brings the bud to bloom and the flower to fruit. It is by his power that the seed develops,” first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.” Mark 4:28.

The plants and flowers grow not by their own care, anxiety, or effort, but by receiving that which God has furnished to minister to their life. The child cannot by any anxiety or power of its own, add to its own stature. No more can you, by anxiety or effort of yourself, secure spiritual growth.  No, all life is the mystery and work of God provided to us through His power and grace.

The plant, as well as the child, grows by receiving from its surroundings that which ministers to its life – air, sunshine, and food. What these gifts of nature are to animal and plant, such is Christ to those who trust in him. He is there” everlasting light,”  “a sun and shield.”  Isaiah 60:19; Psalms 84:11, he shall be as” the dew unto Israel.” “He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass.” Hosea 14:5; Psalms 72:6. He is the living water,” the bread of God… Which cometh down from heaven, and gives life unto the world” John 6:33!

As the flower turns to the sun, that the bright beams of day aid in perfecting its beauty and symmetry, so should we turn to the Son of righteousness, that heavens light may shine upon us, that our character may be developed into the likeness of Christ.

Jesus teaches the same thing when he says, “abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abides in the vine; no more can ye, except he abide in me… Without me you can do nothing.” John 15:4-5. You are just as dependent upon Christ, in order to live a holy life, as is the branch upon the parent stock for growth and fruitfulness. Apart From Him, you have no life. You have no power to resist temptation or to grow in grace and holiness. Abiding in him, you may flourish. Drawing your life from him, you will not wither nor be fruitless. You will be like a tree, planted by the rivers of water.

Many have an idea that they must do some part of the work alone. They have trusted in Christ for the forgiveness of sin, but now they seek by their own efforts to live aright. However, every such effort must fail. Jesus says,” Without me ye can do nothing.” Our growth in grace, our joy, our usefulness, all depend upon our union with Christ. It is by communion with him, daily, hourly, by abiding in him, that we are to grow in grace. He is not only the author, but the finisher of our faith. It is Christ first, last, and always. He is to be with us, not only at the beginning and the end of our course, but at every step of the way.” I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” Psalms 16:8.

By faith, you became Christ’s, and by faith, you are to grow up in him through grace, by giving and taking. You are to give all, your heart, your will, your service, give yourself to him to obey all his requirements; and you must take all, Christ, the fullness of all blessings, to abide in your heart, to be your strength, your righteousness, your everlasting helper, to give you power to obey, and when you do all these things, your GROWING UP IN THE GRACE OF JESUS CHRIST is now under way.  Now you must stay focus and keep your eye on the prize.

SUNDAY PRAYER PRAISE AND WORSHIP SERVICE 47 REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS

Good  Morning Children of God, if it’s Sunday it is time to lift up Holy Hands, open our spiritual eyes wide so that we may see the glory of the Lord.  Put on our praise face, put on our praise garments, slip on our shouting shoes and begin to praise the name of the Lord.  For this is the day that He has made, it is now time for us to REJOICE and be glad in it.  Aren’t you glad you are among the living today.  Let us shout, glory, glory, glory, I thank you Jesus for bringing me up on the rough side of the mountain.  I would not have made it, if you had not been there, reaching down and simply saying come my child.  Oh, how thankful I am to know that my God can do all things but fail.  I once was lost, but now I’m found, was blind but now I see, I thank you Lord for saving a nobody like me.  Today, I am going to REJOICE and lift up your Holy Name.  For you are worthy to be PRAISED!

TODAY’S SONG OF PRAISE:  Psalm 149

Praise ye the Lord, Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.

LET US PRAY FOR THE POOR, SICK AND BROKEN HEARTED:  by Sister Shirley

Most holy and all wise God, it is with humble hearts and gratitude that we approach your throne of grace this moment in time. Holy Father we’ve come to place our partitions at your feet. We ask  that you reach your loving arms down and touch the sick and broken hearted; instill in them a spirit of hope for better days, comfort and strengthen them where they are weak, encourage their hearts in such a way that they may understand that all blessings come from you. We ask Father that you look down on the poor, administer to their needs and let them know that you are a God that never sleeps. Father we ask that you give us a heart, mind and spirit of understanding and patience as we move forward in the purpose for which we have been created. These and all other blessings we ask in your name; we are thankful and count it all joy.

BE ENCOURAGE THE STEPS OF A GOOD MAN ARE ORDERED BY THE LORD

BE ENCOURAGE THE STEPS OF A GOOD MAN ARE ORDERED BY THE LORD

THE STEPS OF A GOOD MAN (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

THE STEPS OF A GOOD MAN (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Good Morning CHILDREN OF GOD, on this day I encourage you to be strong and courageous.  Stand firm in your faith, do not doubt, do not wavier, do not fear the enemy who is trying to tear you down.  Know that “THE STEPS OF A GOOD MAN ARE ORDERED BY THE LORD.”

Bad guys have it in for the good guys, obsessed with doing them in. But God isn’t losing any sleep; to him they’re a joke with no punch line.  Bullies brandish their swords, pull back on their bows with a flourish. They’re out to beat up on the harmless, or mug that nice man out walking his dog.  A banana peel lands them flat on their faces—slapstick figures in a moral circus. (Psalm 37:12-15 MSG)

You are a child of God, a child of the King, and He is your Savior your Strength, your Salvation, your all and all.  Now put on the WHOLD ARMOR OF GOD, and know that no weapon that is formed against you shall ever prosper.  The Lord is the guardian of your soul, your protector, your provider and no harm will come to the righteous that stands and wait on the Lord.

Turn your back on evil, work for the good and don’t quit.  God loves this kind of thing, never turns away from his friends. Live this way and you’ve got it made, but bad eggs will be tossed out. The good get planted on good land and put down healthy roots.  Righteous chews on wisdom like a dog on a bone, rolls virtue around on his tongue. His heart pumps God’s Word likes blood through his veins; his feet are as sure as a cat’s. Wicked sets a watch for Righteous, he’s out for the kill.  God, alert, is also on watch—Wicked won’t hurt a hair of his head.  Wait passionately for God, don’t leave the path.  He’ll give you your place in the sun while you watch the wicked lose it. (Psalm 37:27-34 MSG)

Therefore, I say on this day to each one of you my friends, no matter what trials are tribulations you may be facing, the devil is a lie and he is your enemy; remain steadfast in your faith, rejoice in the Lord, for He will never leave you are forsake you, “BE ENCOURAGE THE STEPS OF A GOOD MAN ARE ORDERED BY THE LORD,” and he delighteth in his way. (Psalm 37:23 KJV)

OUR FEATURED CHURCH FOR THE WEEK IS THE EMMANUEL CHURCH IN ANDHRAPRADESH, INDIA WITH BROTHER BATHINA AS IT’S LEADER

Good Morning CHILDREN OF GOD, welcome to the worship service this morning. As we come together let’s forget about ourselves and draw our wondering minds to the throne of grace prepared for this moment in time. We are truly blessed and it is now time to draw from the fountain of learning, designed to encourage our hearts and equip us to bring wondering souls to Christ. This time has been set aside for edification, restoration and rebuilding of shattered lives and hearts, as well as healing and comfort for those who are sick and in need of a special blessing. As the man-servant of God humbles himself so he can be used as an instrument, let us pray that his message will enlighten, comfort and bring hope to those who are seeking, open and ready to receive. “It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praise to your name, O Most High” (Psalm 92:1 NKJV). May you be filled with great joy this day!!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE READING AND BACKGROUND SCRIPTURES FOR TODAY’S BIBLE STUDY SESSION

UNITY THROUGH HUMILITY (PHILIPPIANS 2:1-4 AMP) (MATTHEW 11:28-30) (MATTHEW 12:33) (COLOSSIANS 3:12)

So by whatever [appeal to you there is in our mutual dwelling in Christ, by whatever] strengthening and consoling and encouraging [our relationship] in Him [affords], by whatever persuasive [a]incentive there is in love, by whatever participation in the [Holy] Spirit [we share], and by whatever depth of affection and compassionate sympathy,

Fill up and complete my joy by living in harmony and being of the same mind and one in purpose, having the same love, being in full accord and of one harmonious mind and intention.

Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance. Instead, in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves].

Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others.

MATTHEW 11:28-30 AMP

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will [a]ease and relieve and [b]refresh [c]your souls.]

29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest ([d]relief and ease and refreshment and [e]recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.(A)

30 For My yoke is wholesome (useful, [f]good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.

MATTHEW 12:33 AMP

33 Either make the tree sound (healthy and good), and its fruit sound (healthy and good), or make the tree rotten (diseased and bad), and its fruit rotten (diseased and bad); for the tree is known and recognized and judged by its fruit.

COLOSSIANS 3:12

Clothe yourselves therefore, as God’s own chosen ones (His own picked representatives), [who are] purified and holy and well-beloved [by God Himself, by putting on behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper].

TODAY’S BIBLE STUDY SESSION TITLE:

EXPERIENCING UNITY THROUGH HUMILITY:

In today’s Bible Study Session, Pastor Davis takes us on a journey into the heart of the Church at Philippi as the Apostle Paul, its leader, was bound in chains in a prison in Rome.  He wrote one of his most important letters to his Church and His Beloved Brethren.  Now click on this video clip and lets begin our study and worship session for this day.

BY EXPRESSING HUMILITY DO PEOPLE PRECEIVE YOU TO BE A WEAK PERSON?

BY EXPRESSING HUMILITY DO PEOPLE PRECEIVE YOU TO BE A WEAK PERSON?

STRENGTH IN HUMILITY (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

STRENGTH IN HUMILITY (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

This is truly a profound question, one that I hope each person would pause their worldly thoughts and ponder the true answer to how they perceive themselves when people call them weak minded, cowards, and so many other things that we know that we are not, when we are attempting to live the life of Jesus Christ expressing our Humility towards our fellowman.

Now let us look at how the Apostle Paul teaches us by showing the example of Jesus as the Humble Servant.  He says, “Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]”

Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly graspedor retained, but stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.

And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!  (Philippians 2:5-8 AMP)

We as believers are to sit ourselves apart from the world.  In other words, we are to humble ourselves before God and resist the evil things that the devil will set before us.  We find that the bible dictionary meaning of Humility is, “the quality or condition of being humble, modest opinion or estimate of one’s own importance.”

Now let us take a look at what James tells us about this subject.  He says, “Submit yourselves’ therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.  Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. (James 4:7-10 ESV).

In this, we are given a choice, we can befriend God are we can befriend the world.  Some of us may say that we will befriend both God and the world, but in practice, we can only choose one way.  The more we give ourselves to the world, the stronger will be our allegiance to the world.  The more we give ourselves to God, the stronger will be our bond with him.  This is what Jesus says, “Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be. (Matthew 6:21)

We have to remember, that we can find strength in the Lord, although the world may consider us weak when we show humility.  This is because the world wants us to be filled with pride, and God sets himself against the proud because pride makes us self-centered and leads us to conclude that we deserve all we can see, touch, or imagine.  It creates greedy appetites for far more than we need.  Pride can subtly cause us to no longer see our sins or our need for forgiveness.

But remember this one great truth, humility opens the way for God’s grace to flow into our lives; thus, God shows favor to the humbleHumility is not weakness; instead, it is the only place that believers gain courage to face all their temptations and sins with God’s strength.  As God gives us more grace, we realize that this world’s seductive attractions are only cheap substitutes for what God has to offer.  It is our choice we can humble ourselves and receive God’s grace, or we can continue in our pride and self-sufficiency and experience his anger.

Now let me conclude this by leaving you with these two questions; (1).  How do we, so prone to pride at the very moment when we think we might be approaching humility, discover true humility?  (2). How do we become the kind of humble people who find the overflowing grace that God promises?

May the grace of God fill your lives with His overflowing blessings, and bring you much joy and peace now and forever, in Jesus name.  AMEN!

WHEN YOUR PRAISE IS DIRECTED TO THE LORD, you will find joy, contentment and peace.  Jesus assures us that he will never leave nor forsake us, it is therefore most urgent that we learn to trust his will for our life. Amidst the uncertainty of the path we often travel from day to day,  know that your steps are ordered by the Lord as scripture reminds us, “no weapon formed against you shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17 NKJV).  Peaceful assurance knows that God is always there in time of need; therefore, our praise is and shall always be directed to him, for he is worthy.

As Paul shared these words for growth and encouragement, “…be steadfast and immoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain…” (1 Corinthians 15:58). Always keep focused on why and where you are purposed to journey and the final goal; say to yourself, WHEN MY PRAISE IS DIRECTED TO YOU LORD, I’m empowered with joy, strength and peace.

When you’re focused on what is most important develop a habit of patience, shed those things (thoughts, ways and attitudes) that tend to weigh you down.  Cast all your cares on the one who truly care for you, for scripture reminds us that we must “Trust in the Lord with all our heart, and lean not to our own understanding; …acknowledge him, and he shall direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).  Most Holy One, MY PRAISE IS DIRECTED TO YOU, you are the magnifier of my soul.

When we can look back at where God has brought us from, we must be careful not to revert back to the past. We must lift our heads; open our eyes and heart, thanking God for the struggles as well as blessings. No matter the circumstance, be joyful, be content, lift your voice and shout “LORD, MY PRAISE IS DIRECTED TO YOU. The journey may at times seem long and difficult, CELEBRATE ANY-WAY.

“THE ENEMY CANNOT TAKE AWAY YOUR POWER TO BE FREE, NOR YOUR WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING UNLESS YOU RELEASE THAT CONTROL TO HIM. LORD OUR PRAISE IS DIRECTED TO YOU.”

CHILDREN OF GOD, where ever you are, know that it is time to Rise and Shine.  For the Lord your God is smiling over you.  He has you on His mind this morning and all He wants is for you to give Him some praise.  No matter what your circumstances are this day, you ought to just praise Him, because He is worthy to be praised.  The very fact that you are alive is enough for you to raise your hands and just say, thank you Lord.  O what an awesome God we serve and there is nothing that should stand in your way of praising Him.  Now remain with us for the rest of this service and share in our praise of the one and only one who can do all things but fail. Who will never put on you more than you can bear.  Be Strong and Be Courageous.  Your Blessings have arrived.

TODAY’S SONG OF PRAISE LET US WORSHIP IN THE SPLENDOR OF HOLINESS:

Oh sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth!
 Sing to the Lord, bless his name;
tell of his salvation from day to day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous works among all the peoples!
For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
he is to be feared above all gods. (PSALM 96:1-4 ESV)

LET US PRAY FOR OUR FAMILIES AND OUR CHILDREN:

O Lord My God my heart is heavy and I am sadden for the many families and Children that are suffering today because of the great burdens and stress that is being put upon them from the poverty that this great country of ours are allowing its citizens to fall into, because of their inability and sometimes downright hostile attitudes towards the poor that live among us.  O Lord, you have said that your people will suffer from a lack of vision.  This has now fallen upon the poor throughout the world.  Our chosen leaders are suffering from a lack of vision of who you are and what you can do with little in your hands.  We seek your blessings over this world and its citizen that you will open the hearts and minds to those that are in power to provide jobs and opportunities that the people may be lifted up out of the poverty that has now beset them. O Lord, we know that you are a God that can do all things but fail.  Therefore, we pray for relief, strength and comfort for our families and children that are in need.  Lift them up and recreate in them a brand new heart, that they may know that you are God and God all by yourself.  Teach them O Lord how to learn to lean and depend on you for all their needs in this life.  We pray this prayer in Jesus name, AMEN!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

THE FIELDS ARE WHITE AND READY FOR HARVEST  JOHN 4:35-38

Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reapermay rejoice together. For here the saying holds true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’  I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.”

TODAY’S BIBLE STUDY WORSHIP SERVICE:

Today Pastor Davis concludes this week’s study session on JESUS MEETING THE WOMAN AT THE WELL with this final lesson title:  HARVESTING THE HARVEST.  Now get your writing pen and paper, then open your Bibles to the book of John 4:35-38, and prepare to receive your blessing as we study together.

TODAY’S ALTER CALL:

If you are a person studying this lesson with us today and have not received the saving grace of the Lord and would like to join the Lord’s family of believers and receive eternal life, repeat this short prayer with me:  “Lord I am a sinner, I have sinned against you, I believe that Jesus died for my sins, and on the third day you raised him from the grave and today He lives.  I ask you to forgive me of my sins, and come into my heart and cleanse me of my sins.  If you have prayed this prayer with me, you now are saved and have eternal life in glory.”

We encourage you to find a local Bible Teaching Church and begin to study and fellowship with other believers.  You can also return back here daily and study God’s word with us.  We share the truth of the scriptures daily, and you will find over 1000 topics for study and discussions.  May the saving grace of our Lord and Savior be with you now and forever, in Jesus name, AMEN!

CLOSING PRAYER:

Father, we thank you for directing our hearts and minds in this powerful service today.  Now as we go out to serve, strengthen each one of us in such a way that your presents will be felt by all that we come in contact with.  Now may the saving grace of our Lord and Savior rest and abide in each heart and mind.  In Jesus name, Amen!
