Thursday Scriptures of Encouragement (Don’t take it personal)

by Shirley Rhodes

Life is a journey in which many obstacles or illusions are part of the process, don’t take it personal.

Don’t take it personal when you’re questioned about your faith, because Jesus endured the same but was always ready to respond in a way to get his message across to non-believers.

Don’t take it personal when others ridicule you because it says a lot about their own character, words are mere words.

Don’t take it personal when the very people you thought were your friends turn their backs on you and walk away, Jesus endured the same. For everything there is a reason, it’s how you evaluate and respond that really matters.

Don’t take it personal when you are confronted with hostility, hate and bigotry, remember what Jesus endured  prior to being wrongly sentenced and nailed to the cross. The men, who held Jesus mocked him, beat him and blindfolded him; they struck him on the face saying “Prophesy! Who is the one who struck you?” Many other things they blasphemously spoke against him (Luke 22: 63-63). He said to them, “If I tell you (I am the Christ), you will by no means believe me…you rightly say that I am” (Luke 22:67-70).

Each day brings new beginnings and that means opportunity for choice, so, choose wisely. As you journey through life, friend and foe can be what helps you to grow and be productive in what you have to accomplish. It has been said that people come into your life for a reason, some may choose to stay and some may choose to move on. What-ever happens; ask your-self, how has this experience helped to make me a better person. Each individual is on his or her own journey and in that journey allow it to be a time of learning and growth in a positive direction.

The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, and adds learning to his lips (Proverbs 16:23).

Wednesday Inspirational and Motivational Service (Be Persistent)

persistence 01

In today’s message I want to take this opportunity to encourage you in your walk with God to be persistent.  Read, study and use the gifts God has provided to you to accomplish your desired goals in this life.  Never give up and never give in, know that God has a blessing with your name on it and He waiting on you to be persistent in reaching out and claiming it.  The devil will put up many road blocks to keep you from obtaining what God has already provided for you, but if you do not be persistent in reaching out to get it, there will be no one to blame but yourself.

Relationship Strategies (True Love)

TRUE LOVE (Photo by Pastor Davis)

TRUE LOVE (Photo by Pastor Davis)

When you feel true love for another person, the love you have is not your own, but it is God expressing through you. You may feel anger, hurt and resentment because of your expectation of how that person should treat you. But when all those expectations and requirements are gone, what is left is the pure unconditional love that is always present beneath it all. Everything else is just meant for you to discover where you are being conditional and limited in your heart. But when you let go, you can love totally.

You don’t need to end the friendship or relationship in the literal sense, but you just need to imagine what’s it like being a true friend or being loved when the friendship or relationship isn’t required. True love is free without needing anything in return. To truly love is to love unconditionally, without judgment of that which you love. There is no fear in perfect love. Whoever that fears is not yet made perfect in love. When you love perfectly, you do not judge yourself or the other because you accept both completely.

Monday’s Word of Encouragement (You have the Power)

Why are you always saying I don’t have the power to do this are to do that?  I’M just a no body; I am not going to get promoted to that position, they are not going to let me become the choir leader, I can’t write a new blog every day, I can’t write a book, I can’t get up every day and exercise, I can’t speak in front of that many people, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I just don’t have the power nor the energy to get up and do those things.

I ask you why you don’t.  All you have done is told yourself what you can’t do. Then you work diligently every day to convince yourself why you can’t do them.  You always put other people in front of you, pointing out the great job they are doing while waking up every morning looking in the mirror, putting yourself down and making excuses of why it is so difficult for you to do what God has given you the power to do.

God has provided you with a very special and unique gift.  Your job is to discover that gift that is waiting on the inside of you to be birth.  He has also equipped you with the POWERS to do great and mighty things.  (Jeremiah 33:3)  Power is truly what you have when you begin to truly BELIEVE on the Word of God.  Why?  Because there is POWER in the WORD, but only when you BELIEVE!  The WORD will never fail you when you BELIEVE in it.  The WORD is truth, the Bible says, “Know the truth and the truth will set you FREE.”  (John 8:32)

Now if you truly want to gain control of self, discover your real gift and activate the powers that God has already provided to you, the first thing you need to do is change your thinking from what you can’t do and begin by believing that you can do it by saying over and over to yourself these words, “I can do all things I choose to do through God who strengthen me.  (Philippians 4:13)

Believe that you can overcome your fears of not being able to accomplish the goals that you have set in the past for yourself, rise above the negative thinking that has surrounded you and move into that place that the Lord has called you to be.  It is never to late to make a change, you are never to young nor to old to begin.  You have to start from right where you are this very moment and begin to move forward.  For God never assigns His Servants a task without first fully equipping this with all the necessary tools to succeed at the assigned task.  He has provided the Holy Spirit to teach you, guide you and help you in every way possible.

Now listen to how the Lord’s supports you as you make the changes in your life to become successful in choosing to obey the Word of God, step out on your faith and stir up the gift that God has placed on the inside of you.  He says, “fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

You have the power, now activate it and receive your blessings!

Sunday Worship Service 135 (Meditate on the Word)

Meditate on the Word

Today we have entered into God’s class room of higher learning to lift Him up in prayer, praise and worship.  Let us be thankful and praisie His Holy name.

Father we thank you in the name of Jesus that we have this opportunity to come together before you, worship and praise you. Open our hearts and minds that we may receive the truth of your word. Bless your messenger and allow the Holy Spirit to use Him for your glory in Jesus name, Amen!

HOW TO RECEIVE THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE What must I do to be saved? This question was first asked by a jailer at Ephesus, who witnessed an earthquake that freed Paul and Silas. Paul and Silas were the Church’s first official evangelists, who had been falsely arrested and beaten and left in his charge. The earthquake came as the climax to a midnight prison cell prayer and praise meeting and it spurred the jailer to consider the condition of his soul.

What must I do to be saved, you asked?  If you truly want to be saved, listen to what the Lord says you must do, “you should first go to God in prayer.  When praying to Him you should tell Him you are sorry for the sinful things that you have done against Him and how you want to do the right thing from now on (1 John 1:9Acts 20:21).

Next you should ask Him to forgive your sins through His death payment on the cross (Colossians 2:10-14). Last, make a commitment to God that you will wholly follow His commandments and believe on Him and His Word, with the help of His Holy Spirit (John 14:15).

Congratulations, you are SAVED (John 8:32)! You have become a new person, and you will be able to live a life that is pleasing to God (2 Corinthians 5:14-17 ). Now, God will come into your heart and live with you (Revelation 3:20). This is so you can be close to Him, receive His power, and understand His Word (1 John 3:16Acts1:8John14:26).

Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and topresent you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Be glory majesty,, Dominion, and authority, before all the time and now and forever, amen.

Saturday Morning Devotional Prayer and Praise Service (Pray and Meditate)

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the heart of the cross

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the heart of the cross

Father in the name of Jesus we seek deliverance for all your children from the four corners of the world.  Open the windows of heaven and pour of a blessing that those who are in the greatest need will receive and be delivered from the jaws of the evil spirits that are keeping them from your presence and the many blessings that are waiting for them. Use the prayers of your saints to manifest healing and restoration in the bodies and minds that are suffering and in need of your healing powers today. In Jesus name we seek these blessings, Amen!

On this day the Lord our God is calling all His Children to come before the throne of grace and begin to pray and meditate on the truth of His Word that the evil that is taking place in this world will be bound up and peace and love will become the norm for all people where ever they may be.  We are truly the body of Christ, let us live our lives accordingly that God may use us for His glory…

Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and topresent you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Be glory majesty,, Dominion, and authority, before all the time and now and forever, amen.

If this lesson has been a blessing to you, share it with others that they too may receive the blessings of the Lord.

Please return in a few hours for our Sunday Worship Service where Pastor Davis will be teaching on the subject: Meditate on the Word!

Forgiveness Friday (True love does not withhold forgiveness)

Have you ever been around people from your family, friends, and even business associates and the conversation always centered on criticism of others?

On the other hand, do you yourself make it a habit of criticizing others? Why do you feel it necessary to criticize your fellowman?

Have you been in church sitting with other believers and another person walked in not dress the way most of the people that are in the congregation are dressed and all eyes focused in on that person, and people start whispering?

Why do you find us always wanting to judge other people? Jesus’ teaching was about teaching us how to love each other. Jesus commanded his disciples to be loving and compassionate; He explained to them what true love entails.

First, he emphasized that true love does not judge others or withhold forgiveness.  He said, “Judge not [neither pronouncing judgment nor subjecting to censure], and you will not be judged; do not condemn and pronounce guilty, and you will not be condemned and pronounced guilty; acquit and forgive and release (give up resentment, let it drop), and you will be acquitted and forgiven and released.” (Luke 6:37 AMP)

While the word “judge” can mean to evaluate are analyze, Jesus did not mean that his people should refuse to think critically or make decisions, nor was he attempting to abolish the legal system or disciplinary measures.

Believers must be discerning and make certain judgments. Jesus was referring to the judgmental attitude that focuses on those faults, criticizing and tearing them down. This is something we must stop doing.  We now have our very young children growing up in the school system criticizing and being judgmental of other children.  Some of them are being murdered right in front of our own eyes, and others are committing suicide.  This is so wrong and Jesus is speaking to this matter in this lesson.  Now let all of us take heed.

The believer’s special position with Christ does not give them license to take God‘s place as judge and jury. Those who judge in that manner will find themselves judged by God. Neither should they criticize are they will face their own criticism. The practice of forgiveness leads also to forgiveness by God. Those who refuse to forgive show that they do not understand what God has done for them. God’s children must be ready and willing to forgive, just as God has forgiven them.

Now listen to these words very carefully, memorialize them, repeat them often, and watch your blessings overflow your storehouse.

My name is Good Measure; Good Measure is truly my name, pressed down, shaken together and running over.”  Jesus said, “Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you.” (Luke 6:38 AMP)
