APPLY GODLY TEACHING IN ALL SITUATIONS

Today let us focus our attention on what the Word of God is teaching us, and take the time to learn how to apply Godly teachings in all situations. Non of us are in a struggle or battle alone, but if we make the  choice to eliminate the way God has planned our lives, we may never come into the knowledge and understanding of our purpose. The bible teaches us this way: Let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God…taking the form of a bondservant…being found in appearance as a man, humbled himself and became obedient to death…(Philippians 2: 5-11; NKJV)

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed…shun profane and idle babblings…for their message will spread like cancer (2 Timothy 2: 15-17)

Know this, in the last days perilous times will come: men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power (2 Timothy 3:1-4)

Finally: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God that he may exalt you in due time…be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may destroy…resist him…(1 Peter 5:5-9)

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil…depart from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it (Psalm: 34: 14-16)

We pray that these scriptures have encouraged you in some small way, and if they have please take the time to share them with others so that they to may be encouraged and received the blessings of the Lord.

Memorial Day Blessing for the Men and Women of our Armed forces

Armed and ready for battle (Photo by Pastor Davis)

Armed and ready for battle (Photo by Pastor Davis)

“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1; NKJV) A time of war and a time of peace (verse 8).

In remembrance of our arm forces, today is set aside to say we appreciate how you give of yourself unselfishly in your efforts to secure freedom and peace around the world. You accept your calling with dignity, courage and strength and move without hesitation when called. It is with utmost respect we say thank-you. We say thank you to your spouses, families and communities for sharing your gifts and talents in time of war and peace.

So we offer this prayer:

Most Holy and all wise God, we approach your throne (presence) with thanksgiving on the tip of our tongue and praise in our hearts. We know that war shatters many lives as our soldiers go into battle. We thank you for giving them courage and respect for the career which they have chosen in the name of freedom. Father we know that there are many battle scares to be dealt with, we ask that you touch each and every-one of them in a special way so that they’re able to live whole and productive lives. Give families strength and a sense of duty in time of need and encouragement. We pray that those whom have given their lives for the cause of freedom will always be remembered in the hearts and minds of our people.  This day set aside to pay respect is an honor and our way of saying thank you for the freedom we have because of so many sacrifices.

Amen, Amen.

As families gather, parades represent is grand stand, and the American Flag waves freely, let us lift up our eyes toward glory and thank God for being free. We are most thankful for all who have freely given of themselves with hearts of courage and sacrifice. Thank all of you for a job well done, and GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Sunday Prayer Praise and Worship Service 126 (Trust in the Lord)

Trust in the Word of God

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV)

LET US PRAY:

Eternal God our Heavenly Father, I thank you for allowing me to take refuge in your

Prayer and Obedience

Prayer and Obedience

Holy place, for you are my strength, my song,  and my salvation; I will lean, depend and trust in you, and I will not be afraid. For I know that under your wings I will find refuge; your faithfulness is a shield and buckler, and I will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, I will always trust in the Lord, Amen!

OUR SONG OF PRAISE

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever!

 Let Israel say,
    “His steadfast love endures forever.”
Let the house of Aaron say,
    “His steadfast love endures forever.”
Let those who fear the Lord say,
    “His steadfast love endures forever.”

 Out of my distress I called on the Lord;
the Lord answered me and set me free.
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
What can man do to me?
The Lord is on my side as my helper;
I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord
    than to trust in man.

(Psalms 118:1-8 ESV

TIME FOR ALTER CALL

So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,  and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:10-11 ESV)

prayer alter 02

HOW YOU CAN RECEIVE THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE

What must I do to be saved? This question was first asked by a jailer at Ephesus, who witnessed an earthquake that freed Paul and Silas. Paul and Silas were the Church’s first official evangelists, who had been falsely arrested and beaten and left in his charge. The earthquake came as the climax to a midnight prison cell prayer and praise meeting and it spurred the jailer to consider the condition of his soul.  What must I do to be saved, you asked?  If you truly want to be saved, listen to what the Lord says you must do, “you should first go to God in prayer.  When praying to Him you should tell Him you are sorry for the sinful things that you have done against Him and how you want to do the right thing from now on (1 John 1:9Acts 20:21). Next you should ask Him to forgive your sins through His death payment on the cross (Colossians 2:10-14). Last, make a commitment to God that you will wholly follow His commandments and believe on Him and His Word, with the help of His Holy Spirit (John 14:15).  Congratulations, you are SAVED (John 8:32)! You have become a new person, and you will be able to live a life that is pleasing to God (2 Corinthians 5:14-17 ). Now, God will come into your heart and live with you (Revelation 3:20). This is so you can be close to Him, receive His power, and understand His Word (1 John 3:16Acts1:8John14:26).

OUR CLOSING PRAYER:

We thank each of you for reading and studying with us this day; Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope, in Jesus name, Amen!

GRACE EPISCOPAL CHURCH TRENTON, N.C. (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Good morning children of God, and indeed what a great morning this really is. For the Lord our God has awaken us and provided us with a brand-new opportunity to lift him up in high praises. For this reason, we ought to lift up holy hands where ever we are and just begin to praise his holy name. For he is worthy to be praised and today’s Devotional Service is designed to concentrate our minds on praising the Lord, after a very long week of being in the secular world.  Now join with me and let us together focus our attention away from the world and upon God and the things of Heaven.

OUR SCRIPTURE READING IS PSALM 136 by Pastor Davis

Today my brothers and sisters, we are a blessed people. We are a free people we can lift up the name of Jesus, praise and worship him without fear of persecution, and when we do not take advantage of this blessed opportunity and shower him with praising and serving him in his holiness, we are cursing our blessing and we are not deserving of the Lords grace that he has showered upon us. Let us at this very moment, not cut off our blessing, but lift up the Lord our God in high praises and Thanksgiving.

THE PRAYER OF JABEZ by Donald Lawrence

TODAY’S ALTER CALL:

If you are a person studying this lesson with us today and have not received the saving grace of the Lord and would like to join the Lord’s family of BELIEVERS and receive ETERNAL LIFE, we simply ask you to, “BELIEVE!”

Now repeat this short prayer with me:  “Lord I am a sinner, I have sinned against you, I BELIEVE that Jesus died for my sins, and on the third day you raised him from the grave and today He lives.  I ask you to forgive me of my sins, and come into my heart and cleanse me of my sins.  If you have prayed this prayer with me, you now are saved and have ETERNAL LIFE  in glory.”

We encourage you to find a local Bible Teaching Church and begin to study and fellowship with other believers.  You can also return back here daily and study God’s word with us.  We share the truth of the scriptures daily, and you will find over 1000 topics for study and discussions.  May the saving grace of our Lord and Savior be with you now and forever, in Jesus name, AMEN!

Thursday Scriptures of Encouragement (Sweet Perfumes of Penitence)

BEAUTY OF LOVE (Photo by Pastor Davis)

BEAUTY OF LOVE (Photo by Pastor Davis)

My dear brothers and sisters as we enter into this day of celebrations, I encourage you to pay close attention to our scripture reading for this day.  It is one designed to encourage you in your walk with the Lord and move you away from the evils of sin and allow you to smell the Sweet Perfumes of Penitence.

In this Psalms Alexander Maclaren once said, “The alchemy of divine love can extract sweet perfumes of penitence and praise out of the filth of sin.”  We have an illustration of this in Psalms 51. As the heading explains it was written by David, after Nathan the prophet had boldly exposed him for committing adultery with Bathsheba and for murdering Uriah her husband.  Utterly convicted of his sin David pours out this torrent of penitence from his broken and contrite heart.

Now click on this short video clip and listen carefully to this very important scripture reading of our word of encouragement for this Thursday…

We pray that this scripture lesson today has been a blessing to your soul and that you will now share it and bless someone else on this very beautiful day so that they too can smell the Sweet Perfumes of Penitence.

MIND REALITY THOUGHTS

PREPARE YOUR MIND FOR WARFARE

Every true child of God soon learns that the Christian life is warfare.  The hosts of Satan are committed to hinder and obstruct the work of Christ and to knock the individual solider out of combat.  The more effective a believer is for the Lord, the more he will experience the savage attacks of the enemy: the devil does not waste his ammunition on nominal Christians.  In our own strength we are no match for the devil.  So the first preparatory command is that we should be continually strengthened in the Lord and in the boundless resources of His might.
