LIVING IN THE EXPEDIENCE OF THE MOMENT (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

CHILDREN OF GOD, we have entered into a very important time of the year.  It is a time for all of us to be filled with love, joy, peace, and compassion in our hearts towards our fellowman.  Knowing in our hearts that Jesus is the real reason for this SEASON, our desires must not be about the material things of this world, but about the SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS that we can give and will receive.

However, there are those that are living among us that will take this time to turn it into chaos, a time to steal and kill, and taking advantage of the least among us.  Where do you think all these appalling wars and quarrels come from? Do you think they just happen? Think again. They come about because you want your own way, and fight for it deep inside yourselves. You lust for what you don’t have and are willing to kill to get it. You want what isn’t yours and will risk violence to get your hands on it.

This isn’t the spirit that God gives to HIS CHILDREN, it is the spirit that comes from the devil, who is always trying to destroy the Kingdom of God.  You wouldn’t think of just asking God for it, would you? And why not? Because you know you’d be asking for what you have no right to. You’re spoiled children, each wanting your own way. (James 4:1-3 MSG)

There is a right way and a wrong way to ask for anything.  When we approach God, we must do so with a Humble Spirit, asking for the desires of our heart which must be in line with God’s Character.  God says, Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7 ESV)

“Don’t bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This isn’t a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we’re in. If your child asks for bread, do you trick him with sawdust? If he asks for fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? As bad as you are, you wouldn’t think of such a thing. You’re at least decent to your own children. So don’t you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better? (Matthew 7:7-11 MSG)

Let us understand this simple fact, and that is we can receive the desires of our hearts by taking them directly to God in prayer.  Listen to what the Apostle Paul tells us to do, he says, “The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.”     (1Timothy 2:1-3 MSG)

Our prayers avails much, God has provided us with the Holy Spirit to intercede for us, so know that you have a direct prayer line to God and He will answer your prayer request.  Think not that you do not know how are what to pray for but think on these words of wisdom as they speak directly to your heart and say:  “The moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter, He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.  (Romans 8:26-28 MSG)  Now CHILDREN OF GOD, pray, “AND BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN HAVE THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART!”

BE THANKFUL ANYWAY

BE THANKFUL FOR ALL THINGS (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

BE THANKFUL FOR ALL THINGS (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1Thessalonians 5:18 ESV)

As we enter into our thanksgiving holiday celebration, I offered up this verse for you to ponder during your moments of celebration with family and friends.  It is a very important verse because it speaks to the heart and soul of who we are as believers.  Some of you will say I am thankful for my many blessings this year, while others will say I have nothing to be thankful for because I am facing shut off notices, eviction notices, mortgages, school loans, car notes and insurance payments are pass due my health is failing me, the children are in need of shoes and clothes, and we don’t even have food to feed our family with this thanksgiving.  The list of our trials and tribulations can be endless.  In your very next breath you ask the question, “So Pastor, tell me, what do I have to be thankful for?”

First of all let us understand that evil things will happen to all believers.  The devil is going to and fro in the earth seeing who he can devour.  When we are facing hard and difficult times, it is the wrong time for us to lose our faith and become like the motions of the oceans, always going back and forth.  It is more important than ever to be thankful for God’s presents in our lives and for the good He can accomplish through the distress that is put upon us at these difficult time.  It is at this very moment that God can use what is happening to strengthen our faith and help us to refocus our minds on the possibilities rather than on the lack we seem to be experiencing.

I know and do understand just how easy it is for us to give thanks when we have all things set before us and seen to be experiencing no difficulties at this very moment.  But it is harder to give thanks when we are facing all sorts of trials.  But the most difficult task is to give thanks no matter what the situation may be.  Even when it makes no sense, and we are unable to see the blessings that lie ahead of us, we must remember to let go and let God, it is His will that we are to be obedient too.   Learning how to give thanks in everything, means that we as believers are trusting God completely, and when we can give thanks so willingly, we have trusted that God is in complete control of all situations in our lives and He is working His will through us and for us.  At this point, there is no need to worry about anything.  Just be thankful for all things.

Finally my friends, I do realize that during our Holiday Celebrations and sometimes depressed and stressful moments, we have a tendency to drink too much wine to soothe the pain that seems to be bringing us down, while others will drink too much wine to celebrate their many victories are just to enjoy the festivities of the moment.  But listen to what the Bible commands us to do, it says, “Don’t drink wine excessively. The drunken path is a reckless path. It leads nowhere. Instead, let God fill you with the Holy Spirit. When you are filled with the Spirit, you are empowered to speak to each other in the soulful words of pious songs, hymns, and spiritual songs; to sing and make music with your hearts attuned to God; and to give thanks to God the Father every day through the name of our Lord Jesus the Anointed for all He has done.”  (Ephesians 5:18-20 THE VOICE)

Good Morning Children of God, if it’s Sunday Morning it is time to Rise Up, Stand up and get your Praise on.  For this is truly the first day of the rest of your life, and God has created it for PRAYER, PRAISE and WORSHIP; While you were stumbling around this week in darkness, unable to focus clearly on what He had set out in front of you; He picked you up, stood you up, put clothes on your back, shoes on your feet, food on your table, gasoline in your ride, He put a brand new strut in your stride and filled your heart with joy and laughter.  What an awesome God we serve?  Is there anything to hard for God?  Let us Praise Him this Sunday Morning, like we never praised Him before, because He is truly worthy to be Praised.

LET US PRAY:  Father we thank you for showering us with your blessings of love, peace and joy.  We honor you Heavenly Father, and today, we have come to lift you up in PRAISE and WORSHIP, to give you the glory for saving us from our sins and bringing salvation into the world. In Jesus Name, Amen!

OUR SONG OF PRAISE:  Our God is an Awesome God!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE READING

THE LIGHT HAS COME INTO THE WORLD (John 3:17-21 ESV)

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him, whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.  For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.  But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

LET US WORSHIP THE LORD IN OUR STUDY OF HIS HOLY WORD

Pastor Davis teaches a very profound lesson today on the light that exposes all evil deeds.  Listen how the scriptures describes this light, it says, “In him was life, and the life was the light of men.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not over come it.  (John 1:4-5 ESV)”

Now I say to you who claim to love the Lord, yet you are living in darkness and carrying out the evil deeds of the devil.  The life that we live today reflect the light that shines within us, which telegraphs to the world the condition of our spirit.  It will say that our spirit is either good or it is evil.  For those people who hate the light are those who want to sin in the darkness.  Evil deeds are revealed by the light, so people who want to do evil must do it in the dark so they cannot be exposed and caught in the act.

Light means understanding and moral insight, spiritual vision.  But more than just shinning or reflecting, the light of Jesus penetrates and enlightens our hearts and minds.  Everyone who comes into contact with Christ can be enlightened.  When Christ’s light shines, we see our sin and his glory, Therefore, we can refuse to see the light and remain in darkness.  But whoever responds will be enlightened by Christ.  He will fill our minds with God’s thoughts.  He will guide our path, give us God’s perspective, and drive out the darkness of sin.

Now as you read and listen to the truth, know that the timeless light has invaded our time, and we can see it in our darkness.  As the light shines, it drives away the darkness, for the unsaved world is blinded by the prince of this world.  Christ’s light shined to a hardened, darkened humanity and he continues to shine.  But the darkness can never extinguish it.  This statement indicates the struggle between the darkness and the light.  Unregenerate humanity under the influence of Satan, the prince of darkness, has not accepted the light and even resists the light.  Thus, “darkness” indicated ignorance and sin, active rejection of God’s will.  Those in darkness reject Christ, his light, and his followers.  But no matter how deep the darkness, even a small light can drive it back.  The power of Christ’s light overcomes any darkness in the world.

Therefore, brothers and sisters we encourage you to live in the light as the light that shines and reflects your true spirit that will help bring salvation to the world.  We leave you with our peace that you will become a disciple of Jesus and carry his message into darkness of this world.  I remain your brother in Jesus Christ, Pastor Davis/Master Teacher!

LET US PRAY:  Eternal God our Heavenly Father, we thank you for the message and we thank you for the messenger.  We thank you for sending your light into the world in order that we may be brought into it from the darkness.  We pray that those who have heard the message and received the message will comprehend the brightness of the light and their light will shine in all places where evil spirits are larking, and those that are hiding in the dark might be exposed to the light, and be enlighten by the light, their minds will be filled with God’s thoughts and with God’s perspective, it will then drive out the darkness of sin.  In Jesus name we pray, AMEN!

LET US GET OUR PRAISE ON:  Lift Him up can’t stop praising His name, with Ron Kenoly

We thank you for joining us this day to lift up the Lord in Praise and Worship.  We came in to Worship, now let us go out and serve.  May God bless you abundantly in all you do.  In Jesus name, Amen!

WE ARE PROCLAIMING THE I AM THAT LIVES IN EACH ONE OF US

“I AM WHO I AM.  These simple words have been an enigma to man for centuries.  He has reasoned that there must be a great mystical significance in them, and has meditated at length in hope that the enigma might be resolved.  At the risk of oversimplification let us alter the tempo, the emphasis we put on the words.  In doing so, they may well give depth of insight to us.  “I AM WHO I AM.” Perhaps the infinite wisdom of our one transcendent God is saying to us that the “I AM” in you has arrived at some degree of self-awareness.  Could it be that He is saying, ”I Am not something apart; I am that something in you that has perceived of identity”?

The Lord has spoken to us, and He has proclaimed, that He is, the, “I AM!” He said, “I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness (Isaiah 42:6a ESV)

I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. (John 10:9 ESV)

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 ESV)

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.” (John 11:25c,d ESV)

“I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. (John 6:35 ESV).

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.  He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. (John 10:11-13 ESV)

I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.  (John 10:14 ESV).

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.  Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.  (John 15:1-4 ESV)

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bear much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

I am the Vine and you are the Branches.  When you learn the truth of who the “I AM,” that lives in you and come into the full and complete knowledge and understanding that, “In him was life, and the life was the light of men (John 1:4a ESV,”) then you will know the truth of these final words spoken by Jesus when he said, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my DISCIPLES. (John 15:7-8 ESV).

We bless this word to you that it may stir up the Holy Spirit that is alive inside of you and seeking the release of its full and unlimited powers that will propel you to any place or heights that you may desire.  The choice is yours, what do you believe?

FAITH AND DOUBT CANNOT LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSE

FAITH AND DOUBT CANNOT LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSE

Faith and Doubt 02

Faith and Doubt the optimist and the pessimist

Faith and Doubt the optimist and the pessimist

My Brothers and Sisters, I encourage you this day to learn how to live and walk in faith.  Stop allowing faith to be a word that you use to try and convince others about your faith when your actions speaks with a different mindset, because truly I say to you this day, “FAITH AND DOUBT CANNOT LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSE!”

Now click on this short video clip and allow me to speak to you mind some words of wisdom that will further help clarify what this all really means to you.

Here is what James, the brother of Jesus tells us about Faith and Doubt; he says, “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts, is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (James 1:2-8 ESV)

BE PATIENCE IN THE MIDST OF TRAGEDY

BE PATIENCE IN THE MIDST OF TRAGEDY

PATIENCE IS LOVE (PHOTO BY SHIRLEY RHODES)

PATIENCE IS LOVE (PHOTO BY SHIRLEY RHODES)

Today we encourage the people from all around the world, to be patience in the midst of tragedy, in all you do and how you feel in regards to the tragedy that has unfolded in Boston, Mass in the past few days. The people of Boston and the World all have been struck by the Enemy of terror.  This Enemy had a dark and evil Spirit to set off a bomb in the middle of innocence people that would kill and injury so many people.  But let there be no mistake, our President and all the leaders that are involved in the mystery of solving this problem has promised us that the Enemy of Terror would feel the full weight of the American Justice System.

We can take comfort in the fact that our first responders, and the many heroes that rushed into chaos to help those that were injured, and now our hospitals, nurses and Doctors from around the world are still responding with courage and a Spirit that has shown the World the strength of the people of Boston and the American Spirit of all its Citizen.

Let us not forget this very important fact, and that is this enemy was truly a thief, and his aim was to take the lives of as many people as he possibly could.  In John 10:10, we see that Jesus warned us of this thief.  Jesus said, “A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.”

Therefore, I encourage all of you, in all that you do, “BE PATIENCE!” Allow the authorities the time an opportunity to do their jobs.  Be informed by the facts and allow the WORD OF GOD to guide your hearts and minds in all things.

Finally, listen to how the word of God informs us to act, it says, “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath!”
Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil, for the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land. (Psalm 37:7-9 ESV)  “BE PATIENCE IN THE MIDST OF TRAGEDY!”

Now let us continue to pray for the victims and their families in the Boston Tragedy.  When prayers go up, blessings come down.

SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER PRAISE AND WORSHIP SERVICE 11

SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER PRAISE AND WORSHIP SERVICE 11

Good Morning to all our friends, we thank God for each of you taking the time to join us here each Sunday morning for our Prayer, Praise and Worship Service.  Today, our services will be ministered by two awesome women of the Gospel.  Dr. Naomi Dorsey, first lady of my home church in Mt. Airy, Ga. The Ebenezer Baptist Church will lead our prayer service, and our very own Shirley Rhodes will present the written word.  Our praise video is truly an awesome one which was given to me by one of our readers, Sister Francine Gassette. The title of this praise video is: Solid Rock, by Brother Ron Kenoly.

So enjoy the Service this morning and let us know what you think.  To God be the Glory!

GOD BUILT HIS KINGDOM ON A SOLID AND TRUE FOUNDATION

WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES

SHIRLEY RHODES

SHIRLEY RHODES

Today we begin our lesson with some of Life’s questions/curiosity. Where did we come from? Where are we going?  What about what we think and what we do?  How do we strive to get alone with one another?  How do we adjust to the troubles we sometimes find ourselves in? Yet blessings keep arriving upon our door steps day after day!

GOD built His Kingdom on a solid and true foundation, and He spoke these words of truth, he said, “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it!” (Matthew 16:18 ESV)

Now let us understand this, we are our thoughts, and they make a clear and convincing statement about our character, how we feel, our way of speaking, actions and the choices we make, and how we center our prayer life. Since the foundation is already given and firmly established, how we add to the process is a matter of choice that we all will make.

Consider the words of Jesus in this matter in Matthew 7:24-27 {Luke 6:47-49} {Acts 14:22} God’s firm foundation is as firm as ever, these sentences engraved on the stones: GOD KNOWS WHO BELONGS TO HIM. SPURN EVIL, ALL YOU WHO NAME GOD AS GOD. {2 Timothy 2:19}

The bible is about truth, teaching us how to have a right relationship with God.  To do so, the bible says this, “know the truth, and the truth will set you FREE.” (John 8:32).  Then the bible takes us one step further and commands us to do this, “it says, study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy: 2:15)

What we must realize is that God works with us where we are and just as he finds us, whether good or bad. No matter how desperately we may (at times) desire to fade into non-existence we can’t stop (give up) so what we must do is make the decision to take our place in this journey and run the race set before us, always with clear thinking and focus on the prize.

Part 2:

Repeat these basic essentials over and over to God’s people. Warn them before God against nitpicking, which chips away at the faith, it just wears every-one out. Concentrate on doing your best for God, work you won’t be ashamed of, laying out the truth plain and simple. Stay clear of pious talk, talk that is only talk. Words are not mere words, you know. If they’re not backed by a godly life, they accumulate as poison in the soul.

Run away from infantile indulgence; run after mature righteousness—faith, love, peace—join those who are in honest and serious prayer before God. Refuse to get involved in insane discussions; they always end up in fights, God’s servants must not be argumentative, but a gentle listener and a teacher who keeps cool, working firmly but patiently with those who refuse to obey. 2 Timothy 2:14-18, 22-26

Now we encourage you to stand your ground and speak truth to power, as the bible teaches us, when it says these final words of this lesson today.  It says, “Therefore take up the WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”  (Ephesians 6:13-18 ESV) Know without a doubt that, “GOD BUILT HIS KINGDOM ON A SOLID AND TRUE FOUNDATION!”

We encourage you to always stand on the word of God.  Let it grow inside of you, as it molds and shapes you, preparing you to do the work of God daily.  Click on the next video for some awesome praise.
