The Bible describes the origin of the sexes as a creative act of GodEvolution has never been able to explain how the sexes beganHumanity was commanded to be fruitful and multiply. Now watch this short video clip and we will meet on the other side.

God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.

So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.

The crown of God’s work was the creation of man in His image and according to His likeness.  This means that man was placed on earth as God’s representative, and that He resembles God in certain ways.  Just as God is a Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), so man is a tripartite being (spirit, soul, and body).  Like God, man has intellect, a moral nature, the power to communicate with others, and an emotional nature that transcends instinct.  There is no thought of physical likeness here.  In contrast to animals, man is a worshiper, an articulate communicator, and a creator.

From the beginning God’s heart to build a dwelling place for Himself in the Earth is seen in His creation of man and woman—together, the foundation of the house of the Lord.  Through the two of them together, He intended to live and reveal Himself in the world.  Through them God intended to manifest His character and authority (image), express His dominion over the Earth, display His indisputable power over the works of darkness, and subdue His archenemy, Satan.  The first man and woman were a microcosm of the church, signaling that God’s glory would forever be seen in the Earth through the combined expression of male and female.  Now, as then, God’s blessing—His promise of success—is upon our unity.

These verses also reveal to us just how God meant for man’s intrinsic value to be, his human worth and divine destiny.  God made sure that man was distinct from the rest of His creation.  The Divine Triune Counsel determined that man was to have God’s image and likeness.  Man is a spiritual being who is not only body, but also soul and spirit.  He is a moral being whose intelligence, perception, and self-determination far exceed that of any other earthly being.

These properties or traits possessed by mankind and his prominence in the order of creation imply the intrinsic worth, not only of the family of mankind, but also of each human individual.

Capacity and ability constitute accountability and responsibility.  We should never be pleased to dwell on a level of existence lower than that on which God has made it possible for us to dwell.  We should strive to be the best we can be and to reach the highest levels we can reach.  To do less is to be unfaithful stewards of the life entrusted to us.

Now let us understand, after having been made out of the dust of the ground, a human begins as any other creature—a biological entity.  The creaturely existence, however, is insufficient to describe the human being, for man becomes the crowning act of creation and is distinguished as being different—God literally breathes life into man.

Unlike the rest of creation, a human being has been created in a covenant relationship to God and has an exceptionally high and distinct value and destiny.  The likeness of man to the Creator is in the form and function of personal unity.  God designed the human personality to consist of self-consciousness and self-determination, with both the freedom and the awareness to respond to God, to other human beings, and to the environmentHe also designed a destiny for man far higher and nobler than that of any other creature.  When God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness,” He had planned from the foundation of the world a glorious future for those who would choose the redeeming grace of Jesus Christ (Eph. 1:4-6).

To God the father, the creator of all there is, to Him be the glory.  In the name of Jesus, we have ministered to you from a position of peace, power, purpose and prosperity.  I remain your brother in Christ, Pastor Davis/Master Teacher.

“Oh yes, glory Halleluiah, thank you Heavenly Father; you shaped me first inside, then out; YOU FORMED ME IN MY MOTHER’S WOMB. I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am MARVELOUSLY MADE! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; you know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, the days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.” Psalm 139:13-14 (MSG)

All that I am and all that I will ever be, God is. God created me in his own image, and likeness. Everything about me God knew before I was even formed in my mother’s womb. I know, without a shadow of doubt, that I am MARVELOUSLY MADE.

Now when we look in our Bibles, we see a picture of just how God begin the process in Genesis chapter 1 verse 2. In the (a) verse the Bible says this “let us make man in our own image, according to our likeness.” This is a very important statement, because God spoke with His team before we were created in our mother’s womb, how he would design His most important creature, and then bring them into the physical realm of life.  How awesome, a God this is, that we now serve.

When I think about how MARVELOUSLY MADE you and I really are, I see a picture of a newborn baby, in my mind’s eye. This baby is in his mother’s womb. In a speck of watery material smaller than that over the dot of this i, all the future characteristics of this child are programmed, the color of his skin, eyes and hair, the shape of his facial features, the natural abilities he will have. All that the child will be physically and mentally is contained the in germ form in that fertilized egg. From it will develop: …60 trillion cells, 100,000 miles of nerve fiber, 60,000 miles of vessels carrying blood around the body, 250 bones, to say nothing of joints, ligaments and muscles.

Lord I thank you because you formed my inward parts; you covered me while I was still in my mother’s womb. Today Lord I give you the praise, the glory, and the entire honor, because without you there will be no me. All glory belongs to you and you alone, thank you Lord, thank you, thank you, thank you, for you deserve all the praise and glory that my mind can muster up. I am just a small part of this great universe.

Today, as I look towards the heels, from which all my blessings flow, a think of the marvelous creation that you accomplished in my mother’s womb. While I was in my mother’s womb, you formed my inward parts; each one a marvel of divine engineering. I think of my brain, for instance, with its capacity for recording facts, sounds, odors, sites, touch, pain; with its ability to recall; with its power to make computations; with its seemingly endless flair for making decisions and solving problems.

When I think of who I am and what I am in this vast universal, I know without a shadow of doubt that I am a marvelous created man. Sometimes I stop and think of God’s careful planning in the creation of my spirit, my soul, and body. How precious, are his thoughts, his attention to the minutest detail. Each cell almost without exception knows its role in carrying out design a purpose for which the welfare of the body as a whole is so marvelous made.

Now in conclusion, I refer you to Psalms 66 verses one through five, which reads as follow. Make a joyful shout to God, all the Earth! Sing out the honor of his name; make His praise glorious. Say to God, how awesome is your works! Through the greatness of your power, your enemies shall submit themselves to you. All the Earth shall worship you and sing praises to you; they shall sing praises to your name. And see the works of God; he is awesome in his doing towards the sons of man.

Truly I say to you, these powerful words that keep rolling around in my head; what an AWESOME GOD we serve, thank you Heavenly Father for I know that I AM MARVELOUSLY MADE!

Let us not dwell upon the sins and mistakes of yesterday so exclusively as to have no energy and mind left for LIVING RIGHTLY IN THE BEGINNING AND BLESSNESS OF THIS DAY,   and do not think that the sins of yesterday can prevent you from living aright today.  Begin today by getting right with the world, and aided by the accumulated experiences of all your past days, learn to live it better than any of your previous days; but you cannot possibly live it better unless you begin it better.  The character of the whole day depends upon the way it is begun.

Another beginning of great importance is the beginning of any particular and responsible undertaking.  How

Mind creates life

does a man begin the building of a house?  He secures a plan of the proposed edifice, and proceeds to build according to the plan, scrupulously following it in every detail, from the foundation up.  Should he neglect the beginning, the obtaining of an architectural plan, his labor would be wasted, and his building, should it reach completion without tumbling to pieces, would be insecure and worthless.  The same law holds well in any important work: the right beginning and first essential is a definite mental plan on which to build.  Nature will have no slip-shod work, no slovenliness, and she annihilates confusion, or rather, confusion is in itself annihilation.  Order, definiteness, purpose, eternally and universally prevail; and he who in his operations ignores these elements of precision at once deprives himself of substantiality, completeness, and the opportunity for success.

Now let us understand that the most important beginning of all, is upon the affliction or blessedness which it inevitably depends, yet the one most neglected and least understood, is the inception of thought that is in the hidden, but causal, region of the mind.  Your whole life is a series of effects, having their cause in thought, in your own thought.  All conduct is made and molded by thought; all deeds, good or bad, are thoughts made visible.  A seed put into the ground is the beginning of a plant or tree; the seed germinates, the plant or tree comes forth into the light and evolves.  A thought put into the mind is the beginning of a line of conduct: the thought first sends down its roots into the mind, thence to push forth into the light in the form of actions or conduct, which evolves into character and destiny.

Loving, gentle, kind, unselfish, and pure thoughts are right beginnings, leading to blissful results.  This is so simple, so plain, so absolutely true; and yet how neglected, how evaded, and how little understood!

The gardener who most carefully studies how, when, and where to put in his seeds gains the greater horticultural knowledge and obtains the best results; the best crops gladden the soul of him who makes the best beginning.  The man, who most patiently studies how to put into his mind the seeds of strong, wholesome, and charitable thoughts, will obtain the best results in life, and gain the greater knowledge of truth.  The greatest blessedness comes to him who infuses into his mind the purest and noble’s thoughts.

None but right acts can follow right thoughts; none but a right life can follow right acts, and by living a right life all blessedness is achieved.

He who considers the nature and import of his thoughts, who strives daily to eliminate bad thoughts and supplant them with good, comes at last to see that thoughts are the beginnings of results which affect every fiber of his being, which potently influence every event and circumstance of his life.  And when he thus sees, he thinks only right thoughts, chooses to make only those mental beginnings which lead to peace and blessedness.

Wrong thoughts are painful in their inception, painful in their growth, and painful in their fruitage.  Right thoughts are blissful in their inception, blissful in their growth, and blissful in their fruitage.

Many are the right beginnings which a man must discover and adopt on his way to wisdom; but that which is first and last, most important and all-embracing, which is the source and fountain of all abiding happiness, is the right beginning of the mental operations, this implies the steady development of self-control, willpower, steadfastness, strength, purity, gentleness, insight, and comprehension.  It leads to the perfecting of life, for he who thinks perfectly has abolished all unhappiness, his every moment is peaceful, his years are rounded with bliss, he has attained to the complete and perfect blessedness.

O my soul, bless God! God, my God, how great you are!
beautifully, gloriously robed,
Dressed up in sunshine,
and all heaven stretched out for your tent.
You built your palace on the ocean deeps,
made a chariot out of clouds and took off on wind-wings.
You commandeered winds as messengers,
appointed fire and flame as ambassadors.
You set earth on a firm foundation
so that nothing can shake it, ever.
You blanketed earth with ocean,
covered the mountains with deep waters;
Then you roared and the water ran away—
your thunder crash put it to flight.
Mountains pushed up, valleys spread out
in the places you assigned them.
You set boundaries between earth and sea;
never again will earth be flooded.
You started the springs and rivers,
sent them flowing among the hills.
All the wild animals now drink their fill,
wild donkeys quench their thirst.
Along the riverbanks the birds build nests,
ravens make their voices heard.
You water the mountains from your heavenly cisterns;
earth is supplied with plenty of water.
You make grass grow for the livestock,
hay for the animals that plow the ground.

Oh yes, God brings grain from the land,
wine to make people happy,
Their faces glowing with health,
a people well-fed and hearty.
God’s trees are well-watered—
the Lebanon cedars he planted.
Birds build their nests in those trees;
look—the stork at home in the treetop.
Mountain goats climb about the cliffs;
badgers burrow among the rocks.
The moon keeps track of the seasons,
the sun is in charge of each day.
When it’s dark and night takes over,
all the forest creatures come out.
The young lions roar for their prey,
clamoring to God for their supper.
When the sun comes up, they vanish,
lazily stretched out in their dens.
Meanwhile, men and women go out to work,
busy at their jobs until evening.

What a wildly wonderful world, God!
You made it all, with Wisdom at your side,
made earth overflow with your wonderful creations.
Oh, look—the deep, wide sea,
brimming with fish past counting,
sardines and sharks and salmon.
Ships plow those waters,
and Leviathan, your pet dragon, romps in them.
All the creatures look expectantly to you
to give them their meals on time.
You come, and they gather around;
you open your hand and they eat from it.
If you turned your back,
they’d die in a minute—
Take back your Spirit and they die,
revert to original mud;
Send out your Spirit and they spring to life—
the whole countryside in bloom and blossom.

The glory of God—let it last forever!
Let God enjoy his creation!
He takes one look at earth and triggers an earthquake,
points a finger at the mountains, and volcanoes erupt.

Oh, let me sing to God all my life long,
sing hymns to my God as long as I live!
Oh, let my song please him;
I’m so pleased to be singing to God.
But clear the ground of sinners—
no more godless men and women!

O my soul, bless God

How we live in both the Spiritual and Physical World simultaneously

We have become more and more aware that we are part of a spirit world that is present around us.  We also understand that we are more than just this physical presence we have, but that we are composed of a spirit, a soul and a body;  in essence a triune being.

Because we are spirit, we have our existence both here in the physical, but as well, we have our existence based in a spirit world that we have become more acutely aware of.  We are, in essence, energetic beings, existing in both a spiritual and natural world, simultaneously.

Translated in English, what does it mean?  It means that we co-exist in 3 worlds simultaneously, and as we have become more and more conscious of that existence, we are more and more aware of our abiding and our interaction within that realm.

Imagine with me if you will a vast ocean.  Moreover, there you stand, immersed in this vast ocean, at one with it.  You sense it, you feel it, and it flows through you.  This ocean is the world of spirit that you have your existence in.  You are a part of it, and every aspect of this ocean affects you and is a part of you.  We live in this world of spirit, 24/7, but most have no awareness of this reality.  Never the less, this ocean, this world of spirit, is reality, and affects all things.  You may think you are a physical being, but you are more spirit than you have ever realized.

Living in this world is analogous to experiencing on-the-job training. We come here to attain growth as a soul (an individualized aspect of spirit). As a spirit, we are already perfectly one with God. But with every human body and life we experienced on Earth over the millennia, we create a different soul body to be the vehicle for our spirit as it experiences the world in the vehicle of a human body. At the physical level, our body is conscious. At the soul level, our mind is subconscious. At the spirit level, we are super conscious. We are multi-dimensional and exist in three different worlds at the same time. There are many abodes and many dimensions. We are working our way back up “Jacob’s ladder” of success toward the goal of perfected individuality as a soul to go along with our already perfect Wholeness as a spirit. We are evolving into an individualized version of the Whole which is “God” consciousness.

As a human being, we seem like such a small creation in an infinite universe, but this is only an illusion. As individuals, we are the human and soul part of God. We are extensions of thought in the Mind of God (the collective Whole). We are bringing this higher universal consciousness into this tiny world called Earth while at the same time we are developing individual consciousness. We are the Mind of God becoming human. We are the body, mind and spirit of God evolving into a perfect individual-divine unity. We have examples of this human-divine unity in the life of Jesus. The goal in human evolution is for us to attain a human-divine consciousness, which can overcome the limitations of the body, walk on water if we choose, or even live-forever on this planet as a human if we choose to. We are powerful spiritual beings with a oneness of the Whole and the wholeness of the One. On a higher level, we are gods just as Jesus said. This is another way of saying we are “godlings” or “children.” We are growing up to be like our Parents. The core of our being, our spirit, is perfect love and perfect “God consciousness.” We travel this River of Life to bring the “kingdom of God” to this world.

You have all knowledge

Within this realm of spirit exists the presence of God, the Father, and Christ, and a host of innumerable angels and spirits of just men made perfect (Hebrews 12).  As well, within this realm of spirit was all knowledge?

And knowledge – all knowledge – exists almost in a state of fluidity, in the spirit realm.  Available to all, however, few really access it.

Seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness…2Pe 1:3

When the Lord spoke that, He gave us all things pertaining to life and godliness; there was a hitch, they exist and have their reality in the spirit; and must be appropriated or “drawn down” by Children.  Yes we have all things.  Yes we are rich.  Yes, we have all knowledge.  But it must be taken.  It must be appropriated.  This means, you need to know that it is here, and that you can do this.

Let’s look for a moment at a couple of scriptures…

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. John 14:26

As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him. 1Jn 2:27

None of you really has need for a teacher, for in truth; this knowledge is at your disposal, if you only realized it.

The Word says….you have not because you ask amiss, or ask not; ask that your joy may be made full.  (James 4:2) (Jn 16:24)

The problem is we have not known how to ask, and we have not known what to ask.  That is why we wait upon the Lord that is why we travail and are driven to stay in His presence.

And what’s more; knowledge is being released, as we speak, into the spirit realm; knowledge which becomes available for the taking.

“And those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.  But as for you,

Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase.”
Dan 12:3-4

Knowledge is increasing.  We are in a heightened time of release.  You could call it an outpouring of His spirit, of His presence, and of His knowledge…..knowledge Of the Lord …. That will literally fill all the earth.

(One side note addendum….when the word speaks of many shall go back and forth…it has been vertically interpreted as an acceleration of travel on the physical plane, indicative of the time we walk – but there is a higher meaning….  It really speaks of an access and flow between dimensions, or if you prefer, through the veil.  This is what is unfolding, this is really what Daniel 12 refers to).

As the words of spirit continue to come forth, more and more knowledge is being released and being made available to the sons.  You may find inspiration coming to you, dreams in the night, or impressions, unaware perhaps that their origins are emanating from this release in the spirit of a flow of knowledge to God’s people, because the time is now for all to be in the flow.

David Goines’ NDE:  Humans have a mental and spirit body. Before going through the veil, we chose our own physical body. We must forget these memories because in order to experience a physical life, we must experience the physical things, be physically challenged, make choices of free will, and make mistakes so that we can learn from them in ways that only a physical life could impart.

If we retained all of our prior knowledge, we might not bother to experience the physical life for its fulfillment – we might decide to skip the pain and thus miss the pleasure. We promised God that upon accepting the opportunity, challenges and responsibility of a physical life, we would make the most of this opportunity for ourselves and God, return to God with the knowledge and experience gained so that God will be enhanced by our experience.

The reason we need to experience a separation of our total reality when we took on a physical body is because in order for us to appreciate, benefit, and learn all we can from our physical life, we must re-discover what we knew before – in physical ways.

Through our physical life we must discover how to return to God. By the good that we do to each other here, by the ways we improve our minds, and by the ways that we learn to cope with a physical body and physical life, we earn our right of safe passage back to God; and in doing so we honor God. It is God’s love that sends us on the journey and it is our love for God that will allow us to return to God’s loving arms. (David Goines)

Now let me begin by stating it to you in this manner. You are the Presence and the Power of The Creator.  In you, all life exists.  There is only one conscious in the universe, and you are a reflection of that one conscious. There are people who go through life without realizing the answers to the most important questions about what their existence in this world is. In order to live a conscious and meaningful life, you need to know the secret of what life is about. You want to know the three most important things which are the answers to what is the meaning of life, what you are here for and who you really are. Because when you know these, everything opens up for you and the world becomes yours for the taking.

The meaning of life is that life is for you to fulfill your purpose and to experience who you really are. You can achieve anything you truly desire. You were created with a dream. No one exist without a dream. Your dream is your purpose. You are here to fulfill your purpose by following your heart and achieving your dream. What makes you truly happy is not all the external things such as money, material things, fame and acclamation. What makes you truly happy is doing what brings you joy and fulfillment.

You originally exist in a higher plane of spirit where you are everything, can do anything and have everything. In that dimension, you can create anything you want simply by thinking it into existence. You created this physical dimension to live life in a world of limitation and to transcend it by connecting with the unlimited power that comes from the higher plane where you exist in. You now exist simultaneously in two dimensions although you might not be aware of this state of being in the physical dimension.

Who you really are is the presence and the power of the creator. You as God created a smaller you to live out your purpose in this lower plane of existence. You created a chessboard with chess pieces. Each of the chess pieces are a smaller version of you, and you as God are controlling the smaller human you on the chess board. All that exist is one consciousness and therefore you are not separated from your God self or higher consciousness. The whole universe is your entire self and you are a part of it.

The reason why you forgot who you really are and where you came from when you are born on Earth is that you chose to. You can go through life rediscovering whom you really are and what you are here to do this way. You may have caused yourself to forget everything but still made a way for you to know what you are here for. The way by which you are led by the directions of your higher self is through your heart. Spirit talks to you from within therefore you are never lost if you listen to your heart.

You programmed your purpose within you, which already existed, in your heart when you were born. Your heart’s desire is how you know where you are directed to move towards for the fulfillment of what you came here to do. Every one of us is created for a purpose which is directed by our heart’s desire. That is why we do not all desire to do the same things or have the same things. Your heart’s desire is uniquely yours. That is why you can only be happy by following the desire that is placed in your heart.

Everything that seems to be stopping you and making it seem that you cannot achieve your dream is only an illusion. Life is a test created by you to see if you would have the faith to follow your heart all the way. It is a test to see if you would believe in yourself, in the essence within, which is who you really are as the power and presence of God. You never need to figure out a way because the directions and ideas will arise naturally when you need them. All you have to do is to watch for them and follow them.

Some people live a life where they had given up on their dreams and desires thinking they could never achieve them. They end up living a miserable life and die unfulfilled. Those who chose to follow their dreams all the way and achieve them end up in a place of happiness, satisfaction and completeness. This is the joyful experience we are all meant to have and the state we were supposed to arrive at when we chose to go through the experience of life in this dimension. It’s one of the ways to enjoy existence.

You as God also created the resources and possibilities that will show up along the way if you as your human self in this dimension would follow your heart and move in the direction of your dreams. You will find whatever you really need will show up at the right time always. What seems to be impossible becomes possible. You might not know the how but all you need is to know the truth and to keep acting from it. The most important thing is to find your calling and follow it, and everything else goes with it.

If you were to die right now, you would return to the higher dimension you truly exist in where you are everything, can do anything and have everything. You would realize what your life on earth was about and would laugh about the whole matter. If you had given up on following your heart and realizing your dreams, you would know it does not matter now because it was just for fun. But if you had followed your heart and lived the life you truly desired, you would feel how fun it was and be glad with the experience.

Those who realize this truth and this secret of life now, have awaken and are now living as conscious beings. They are living a life of transcendence and operating at a plane above everyone else in the world, because they know who they really are and what this whole thing about life is all about. They possess the awareness of angels and higher dimensional beings and living life with an enlightened state of mind. We are all here to express who we really are, and that is the most beautiful thing we can do.

17th century representation of the "third...

Everything in the universe is consciousness. Space and time in all planes of reality are only projections within universal consciousness.

There really is no here or there for everything is at one place where our Mind is. Our Mind does not move at all. It simply is. When we think about it, our Mind is everywhere yet nowhere.  Our Mind is nowhere but Here, Now. We all exist together as a singularity in one place and time. Everything is one everything is here and now.

Now consider several events in different places that are moving in synchronization may actually be the movements of the same event. Pause for a moment and use your imagination, imagine a fighter jet flying in the sky, with several video cameras recording its movements from different angles. Each recording is displayed on different screens. When the fighter jet displayed on one screen turns or moves in a different directions, all other fighter jets in the other screens simultaneously move in a correlated manner.

Every day experience is a projected reality where things only appear, to be separated in time and space. In a deeper reality, we are all members of the same body. When one part of the body moves, every other part is instantly affected. Separation is an illusion. There is a dimension of reality where we are all inseparably one. When we feel love in any form, it has the effect of beginning to shatter that illusion.

When two electrons collide, they exchange energy and information with each other. From then onwards, no matter where one electron is, you will be able to tell the location and momentum of the other. When a change occurs in one electron, it will immediately, be reflected in the other. You are always able to know in one, what is going on in the other. When you cause change in one, you cause change in the other. We exchange portions of our energy fields with each other when we come into contact; therefore, we remain inseparably connected at all times.

Imagine the universe is an ocean and each of us is a wave in that ocean. The wave and the ocean are the same. We are the universe localized in a single point in space-time. The soul has two parts. It is both local and nonlocal. Part of you, is localized, and part of you is nonlocal, and connected to everything. You are the universe, located in your body. Not all your thoughts, wishes and desires are actually your thoughts, wishes and desires. Part of them is the very intentions of the universe.

The spirit in me is the same as the spirit in you, and the spirit in all beings.

Now look at Enlightenment as being the realization that you are the universal spirit observing from a particular point of view. Each of us is the universal spirit projecting a particular point of view. I am inseparable from all that exists, just as you are inseparable from all that exists. You are an aspect of infinite intelligence, and infinite intelligence is the source of all that exist. Therefore, you are the source of all that exist and you create your own experience. Everything is possible because everything exists within you. The same unbounded potential of the infinite spirit also resides in every one of us.  Listen to what Jesus tells us, “He said, Because of the littleness of your faith [that is, your lack of firmly relying trust]. For truly I say to you, if you have faith [that is living] like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. (Matthew 17:19-21 AMP)

Your soul is the reflection of all souls. You are the other. Without the other, you would not exist.  You must believe, in order to conceive and then you will receive the truth of knowing who you are, because of the reflection of all souls.

You are defined by your relationships with others. You need to describe the whole universe in order to define a single person. Therefore, every single person is the whole universe. Your soul is both personal and universal at the same time. Everyone is a reflection of you. You are in a hall of mirrors where every reflection of yourself appears different. Others you admire reflect the qualities you most cherish in yourself. Others you detest reflect the qualities you most deny in yourself. Each person you see is a different version of you.

All the cells in your body start from just one cell. That one cell in the womb is fertilized, grows and divides into two. The two cells grow and divide into four. This process happens fifty times until there are one hundred thousand billion cells in your body. That is where the replication stops. Just as a single cell in the womb differentiates into brain cells, nerve cells and retinal cells, and through them give us experience of the world, so does the single spirit differentiates into all observers and observations, inner world and outer world.

The outer world is a mirror of you at any place and time. If you want to know the state of your Personal consciousness, just look around and see what is happening to you. If you want to know the state of the collective consciousness, just look around at what is happening in the world. Your personal reality is synchronistic ally orchestrated by your sense of self at all times. If a critical mass of people expressed their higher selves, they would cause a transformation in collective consciousness and the world reality.

Every time a person rises in personal consciousness, he moves the state of the world towards a higher one than before.

The whole universe is one reality, which is pure consciousness. Pure consciousness is absolute existence.

God makes things through the direct act of becoming the things, which He creates.

In the beginning, the One differentiated into the many. The One entered into the many and became the Self of each. The being within everything is the One. When you merge with this nonlocal self, you become one with the Self of all that exist. The One is the Higher Self of all. You are the One.

WHO ARE THE SONS OF GOD? (Genesis 6:1-2)

WHO ARE THE SONS OF GOD? (Genesis 6:1-2)

Today’s message is a direct response to one of our readers who posted a comment and asked the above question after reading our message last week title, “GAINING KNOWLEDGE OF THE TWO ASPECTS OF GOD.” You can read his entire comments and question by clicking on this message. We thank the reader for this very important question, and we welcome all questions and comments from our members and readers.

Now here is the answer to this very important question from Genesis 6:1-2. When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years.”

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days – and also afterward – when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

Genesis 7:23

Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; men and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds of the air were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.

Numbers 13:33

“We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”

First, who are the “sons of God” and the “Nephilim”? There are three proposed interpretations:

  1. “Sons of God” refers to fallen angels who lived on earth and married human women. The Nephilim are giants of extra-human strength who were the offspring of these marriages.
  2. “Sons of God” refers to descendents of Seth, who were godly men who sinned by marrying descendents of Cain, who would have been pagans. The Nephilim were simply “heroes”, not giants, and may or may not have been the offspring of the mixed marriages.
  3. “Sons of God” is better translated as “kings” or “sons of nobles” and “Nephilim” is best translated as “princes” or “great men.” That is, the “sons of God” were royalty or aristocrats who were generally immoral and married common women, possibly against their will or despite their already being married.

Arguments for view 1:

  • The phrase “sons of God” is used in Job 1:6 and 2:1 to describe angels, and apparently early Jewish writers interpreted this passage as referring to angels.
  • In support of the idea that angels came to live on earth and married human women, Jude 6 refers to “angels who…abandoned their own home,” and other passages describe angels as being able to assume human form (Heb 13:2Gen 19:1-3).
  • In Numbers 13:33, the Nephilim are described as giants.

Arguments against view 1:

  • “Sons of God” in the Job passages refers to “good” angels, and distinguishes them from Satan, the fallen angel. Since only fallen angels would be marrying humans, they wouldn’t be referred to as “sons of God.”
  • Mark 12:25 and Matthew 22:30 state that angels don’t marry. (Supporters of this view respond that these passages say that angels don’t marry in heaven, not that they can’t marry on earth.)
  • Num 13:33 could be an exaggeration of the faithless spies.
  • God seems to condemn mankind for the intermarrying in Gen 6:3, but says nothing about the angels, though they were at least as responsible for it as the humans.

Arguments for view 2:

  • Humans are referred to as children of God elsewhere in the Bible (Deut 14:1Is 43:6, etc.)
  • Genesis 5 describes godly descendents of Seth (Enoch, Noah), while Lamech, one of Cain’s descendents, was also a murderer (Gen 4:23).
  • To support the “Nephilim weren’t offspring of the marriages” view: Gen 6:4 doesn’t explicitly say the Nephilim were offspring, only that they showed up at the same time the intermarriage was happening.

Arguments against view 2:

  • The Sethites don’t sound very godly, since only Noah and his family were spared from the flood. (However, “sons of God” may refer to generations previous to those whose sin brought about the flood.)
  • This interpretation requires that the phrases “men” and “daughters of men” have two different meanings within the same sentence. “Men” and “daughters of men” in v.1 would refer to all mankind and their daughters, but “daughters of men” in v. 2 would refer to Cainite women.

Arguments for view 3:

  • Contemporary rulers referred to themselves as sons of God – the Egyptian king was called “son of Re.”
  • The Hebrew word in the phrase “sons of God” is Elohim, which is elsewhere in the Bible translated as “judge” or other human authority (Ex 21:6Ps 82:1)
  • Early translations of “sons of Elohim” rendered it as it as “sons of nobles” or “sons of kings”
  • The word “Nephilim” is associated in Gen 6:4 with “gibborim”, which means “mighty man of valor, strength, wealth, or power.”

Arguments against view 3:

  • While pagans referred to royalty as sons of God, Israelites did not, and nobles were not referred to as “sons of God.”
  • This interpretation seems “forced” – a stretching of the meaning of the text.
  1. It seems unlikely to me, especially considering the last argument against it. In addition, it seems clear that “sons of God” does not have to refer to angels, fallen or not.
  2. It further seems the most natural, but the arguments against it do present legitimate problems.
  3. It does seem rather strange, but the arguments against it are not very strong.

Regardless of which interpretation one accepts, there is no contradiction in the Nephilim appearing both before and after the Flood. Genesis 6:4 does say, “The Nephilim were on the earth in those days – and also afterward.” If the Nephilim were giant offspring of humans and fallen angels, the fallen angels could have come back after the Flood and had more offspring. If the Nephilim were heroes or nobles, society after the Flood could produce heroes and nobles just as well as society before the Flood.

In today’s market place when so many people have lost their jobs and inability to earn a proper living for their families and losing their homes and all their worldly goods it is time for Pastors and church leaders to carefully study the types of messages they delivery to their congregation. The bible gives us a road map for us to follow, how we present that road map to our followers at a time such as this is the most important thing that we can do in the name of Jesus.

I do realize that I am going to get a lot of negative feedback from my fellow brethren in the ministry, but I also feel that it is important to get this message out.  Now I ask you to read and study the entire message before you make up your mind, and let us begin a dialog that can be beneficial to all believers.

Throughout most of the Church History the spiritual current, especially of the Catholic and Orthodox churches has been that the most spiritual possible lifestyle is to be poor.

The preaching and teaching of these Pastors have done more harm to the poor than they have given them the keys to living a prospers life style because they use Scriptures like “Blessed are the poor…” and “Sell everything you have and come follow me,”  the mindset has been that in order to truly follow Christ you must impoverish yourself.

Now, of course, at any given time, only a few are willing to do this at one time, and so they are considered the most spiritual.   This promotes a general sense of guilt among the middle class and of pride among the self-impoverished.   Moreover, it creates a universal rejection of Earthly wealth for Christians, leaving it to be pursued by either those of other faiths (such as the medieval Jews) or by Christians who do not really believe the Gospel.

It is my opinion this promotes a general place of powerlessness for the church, and of “scraping by” for the average person.   Ironically, which teaching its people to be poor, the church itself held greater riches than most kings, building incredible edifices to promote itself.   The outcome of promoting poverty then, was to have a rich clergy and a poor laity.

In the wake of the great healing revival of the 1940’s and 50’s two things happened.  First, the healing crusaders like Oral Roberts and Jack Coe and others had built huge and very costly ministry empires which required a remarkable amount of money was needed.    Secondly, the anointing waned on many of these men, depriving them of the power which would both draw people to their services and money to feed the ministry empire.   Largely because of these two factors, the doctrine of “Faith” which they had developed with regard to getting people healed began to grow into a doctrine of Wealth.

Slowly the ability to get out of a wheelchair was replaced with the promise to get material goods.   Instead of “if you have faith, you can be made whole” it was “if you have faith, you can get out of debt.”  Now at the time, I believe the shift was subtle, but a generation later, what had happened became clear — the power of God had been traded for money.     We live under a system of “prosperity” now, where ministers promise that giving (to them) is the way to wealth, and implicitly that if you do so you will become rich like them.   These rich ministers are the ones who had “faith” to get wealth, and by “sowing in” to their ministries you can get the same thing.    The great irony again is that this has not produced a race of billionaire Christians, what it has primarily produced is the same exact thing that the Old Catholic “poverty mentality” did — rich ministers and poor laymen.

Does this mean that God does not want his children to prosper?  By no means, I believe that God desires to give His children great wealth so that they can “make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, and then “they may receive you into the eternal dwellings.” (Luke 16:9)   In other words, we are given the financial resources to advance His Gospel and reach every living creature.   If that is your heart and practice with your wealth, God wants to give you the increase.    What these “prosperity” preachers are doing is just the opposite, however.   They are taking huge sums of money which otherwise would be putting others into ministry to spread the Gospel and helping those in need and spending it on lives of difficult to imagine luxury.  And they feel no pangs of conscience about it because in their system being rich is a sign of being blessed.

Anyone can get rich by telling you that by giving him or her money, you will get rich.   That is what they call a “pyramid scheme” and rightly so.  It is the devil’s method.  Take from the many to enrich the few. Real prosperity then is the businessperson who uses his God-given talents to bring wealth into the Kingdom.   God does not tell such a man he must live on nothing.   He tells him that if his heart is in the right place, he’ll want to give greatly to the cause of the Gospel.   If you have a business or hold a job, God wants to give you the increase, but it’s not going to come by giving more money to a “prosperity” preacher.  It’s going to come by your God given talent, the favor of God on your life, and by giving to reach the ends of the Earth with His message.

We have come to a place where we think that having a private jet is a sign of the anointing.   It may be a sign of the anointing, but a sign that the anointing has been misused.   We need to fear the Lord, because he does not take use of positions in His house for personal gain lightly. This is not unlike the sin of Gehazi.  He saw that he could get a couple of talents of silver and some robes from Elisha’s anointing and look where it took him.  He became a leper.  The sons of Eli thought their spiritual inheritance was best used to gain better portions of meat from the people’s sacrifices.  God killed them.  It’s amazing how in every reformation of the church from Jesus, to Luther, to our time, that one of the great issues is the abuse of money.     I believe the Lord has winked at many in our time because they legitimately believed they were helping the people, but a time is soon coming when He is going to reform the church again.

Get ready for the Lord is going to make it all right.  The leaders of the church have prospered while the rest of its members have remained poor.

25And it was the third hour (about nine o’clock in the morning) when they crucified Him.(A) 26And the inscription of the accusation against Him was written above,

The King of the Jews.

27And with Him they crucified two robbers, one on [His] right hand and one on His left. 28[a]And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, He was counted among the transgressors.

Jesus was placed on the cross at nine o’clock in the morning.  A signboard stating as a warning.  Because Jesus was never found guilty, the only accusation placed on his sign was the “crime” of calling himself King of the Jews.  This sign was meant to be ironic.  A king, stripped and executed in public view, had obviously lost his kingdom forever.  But Jesus, who turns the world’s wisdom upside down, was just coming into his kingdom.  His death and resurrection would strike the deathblow to Satan’s rule and would establish Christ’s eternal authority over the earth.  Few people reading the sign that bleak day understood its real meaning but the sign was absolutely true.  Jesus is king of the Jews, and the Gentiles, and the whole universe.

When James and John had asked Jesus for the places of honor next to him in his kingdom, Jesus had told them that they did not know what they were asking (Mark 10:35-39).  Here, as Jesus was preparing to inaugurate his kingdom through his death, the places on his right and on his left were taken by two criminals.

A person who wants to be close to Jesus must be prepared to suffer and die as he himself was doing.  The way to the kingdom is the way of the cross.  If we want the glory of the kingdom, we must be willing to be united with the crucified Christ.

PREPARING FOR THE PASSOVER MEAL (Mark 14:12-26 Amplified Bible)

12On the first day [of the Feast] of Unleavened Bread, when [as was customary] they killed the Passover lamb, [Jesus'] disciples said to Him, Where do You wish us to go [and] prepare the Passover [supper] for You to eat?

13And He sent two of His disciples and said to them, Go into the city, and a man carrying an [earthen] jar or pitcher of water will meet you; follow him.

14And whatever [house] he enters, say to the master of the house, The Teacher says: Where is My guest room, where I may eat the Passover [supper] with My disciples?

15And he will [himself] show you a large upper room, furnished [with carpets and with dining couches properly spread] and ready; there prepare for us.

16Then the disciples set out and came to the city and found [everything] just as He had told them; and they prepared the Passover.

17And when it was evening, He came with the Twelve [apostles].

18And while they were at the table eating, Jesus said, Surely I say to you, one of you will betray Me, [one] who is eating [here] with Me.(A)

19And they began to show that they were sad and hurt, and to say to Him one after another, Is it I? or, It is not I, is it?

20He replied to them, It is one of the Twelve [apostles], one who is dipping [bread] into the [same deep] dish with Me.

21For the Son of Man is going as it stands written concerning Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good (profitable and wholesome) for that man if he had never been born.(B)

22And while they were eating, He took a loaf [of bread], praised God and gave thanks and asked Him to bless it to their use. [Then] He broke [it] and gave to them and said, Take. Eat. This is My body.

23He also took a cup [of the juice of grapes], and when He had given thanks, He gave [it] to them, and they all drank of it.

24And He said to them, This is My blood [which ratifies] the new covenant, [the blood] which is being poured out for (on account of) many.(C)

25Solemnly and surely I tell you, I shall not again drink of the fruit of the vine till that day when I drink it[a]of a new and a higher quality in God’s kingdom.

26And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

A GRAIN OF WHEAT MUST DIE (John 12:20-33) (Amplified Bible)

20Now among those who went up to worship at the Feast were some Greeks.

21These came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and they made this request, Sir, we desire to see Jesus.

22Philip came and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip together [went] and told Jesus.

23And Jesus answered them, The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified and exalted.

24I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains [just one grain; it never becomes more but lives] by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others and yields a rich harvest.

25Anyone who loves his life loses it, but anyone who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal. [Whoever has no love for, no concern for, no regard for his life here on earth, but despises it, preserves his life forever and ever.]

26If anyone serves Me, he must continue to follow Me [[a]to cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying] and wherever I am, there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

27Now My soul is troubled and distressed, and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour [of trial and agony]? But it was for this very purpose that I have come to this hour [that I might undergo it].

28[Rather, I will say,] Father, glorify (honor and extol) Your [own] name! Then there came a voice out of heaven saying, I have already glorified it, and I will glorify it again.

29The crowd of bystanders heard the sound and said that it had thundered; others said, An angel has spoken to Him!

30Jesus answered, This voice has not come for My sake, but for your sake.

31Now the judgment (crisis) of this world is coming on [sentence is now being passed on this world]. Now the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world shall be cast out (expelled).

32And I, if and when I am lifted up from the earth [on the cross], will draw and attract all men [Gentiles as well as Jews] to Myself.

33He said this to signify in what manner He would die.

When Jesus took His disciples into the mountains, he taught them that they must become the salt of the Earth.  He likened His disciples to salt.  They were to the world what salt is in everyday life: salt season’s food; it hinders the spread of corruption; it creates thirst; it brings out the flavor.  Therefore, His followers add piquancy to human society, serve as a preservative, and make others long for the righteousness.

Before we continue this part of the discussion, allow me to give you a brief history of salt, in order that it may add some additional favor to this study.

Salt has been a precious commodity since ancient times.  It was often traded ounce for ounce for gold.  The early Chinese used coins made of salt for currency.  In many areas around the Mediterranean Sea, salt cakes were used as currency.  Several ancient cultures also levied taxes on salt.

The main sources of salt in ancient times were dry coastal areas, particularly those surrounding the Mediterranean Sea.  The earlier trade routes centered on Spain, Italy, Greece, and Egypt, and many of the first roads and caravan routes were established for the purpose of transporting salt.  A number of cities, including Genoa, Pisa, and Venice, developed as centers for the salt trade.

In the 1300’s, people near the coast of the North Sea in northern Europe began trading for salt, which they needed to preserve fish for shipping to inland markets.  Later, salt was obtained by boiling the brine from salt springs, and many cities and towns grew up near such springs throughout Europe.

The process of boiling brine to obtain salt required large supplies of wood for fuel, but this problem was partly solved in the 1700’s after coal began to be widely used.  England became the largest producer of salt in the world at that time, partly because of its abundant supply of coal.

Colonial America received most of its salt from England.  After the Revolutionary War in America (1775-1783), salt works were established along the Atlantic Coast for boiling seawater.  A salt industry also grew up near where the city of Syracuse, N.Y., now stands, after salt springs were discovered there.  The need to transport salt from Syracuse was one of the main reasons for the construction of the Erie Canal, completed in 1825.

Deep-drilling technology was introduced into salt production in the early 1800’s.  Most early wells were drilled to improve the quality of salt springs that were already being used in salt production and to locate new ones.  Production of salt from underground mines began in the mid-1800’s.

Drilling helped revolutionize knowledge of the earth’s layers.  This new knowledge led to increased exploration for salt, potash, and petroleum and salt exploration indirectly gave rise to such industries as the potash industry and the petroleum industry.

Today, the U.S. government is investigating the possibility of storing radioactive wastes in underground salt mines.  Salt mines have several characteristics that make them good sites for radioactive wastes.  For example, they have remained stable and dry for millions of years, and most salt mines occur in areas where earthquakes are extremely rare.  Salt also is capable of absorbing heat from surrounding objects, and it flows to seal up fractures that form in the walls.

This is a principle Jesus clearly understood and He wanted to make sure that His disciples understood it also in order that they too could teach it to the rest of the world.  Jesus told them that if the salt loses its flavor, how can its saltiness be restored.  There is no way to restore the true, natural taste.  Once it has lost its flavor, salt is good for nothing.  As salt preserves and brings out the best flavor of food, so believers should be the salt of the earth and affect others positively.  Jesus told his disciples that if they wanted to make a difference in the world, they would have to be different from the world.  God would hold them accountable to maintain their saltiness (that is, their usefulness).  We must be different if we want to make a difference.  We must be the salt of the earth.

Matthew 5: 13-16
13You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men.

14You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

15Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.

16Let your light so shine before men that they may see your [g]moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and [h]recognize and honor and praise and glorify
your Father Who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:13-16) AMP

As we begin this study of Living in the light as light, we begin with two precepts.  First we begin with light as the substance that illuminates the world.  Second we come into the knowledge and understanding as to whom and what the substance that illuminates the world is.

Let me give you a working definition of the word light; it is something that makes things visible are affords illuminations.  In Physics it is also called, luminous energy, radiant energy. electromagnetic radiation to which the organs of sight react, ranging in wavelength from about 400 to 700 nm and propagated at a speed of 186,282 mi./sec (299,972 km/sec), considered variously as a wave, corpuscular, or quantum phenomenon.

The state of being visible, exposed to view, or revealed to public notice or knowledge; limelight: Stardom has placed her in the light. A person who is an outstanding leader, celebrity, or example; luminary: He became one of the leading lights of Restoration drama. A gleam or sparkle, as in the eyes.  A measure or supply of light; illumination:  The wall cuts off our light, Spiritual illumination or awareness; enlightenment.

Now let us look at just how this light came into its existence.  In order to do so let’s begin with Genesis 1:1-5 (Amplified Bible) 1IN THE beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth.(A)

2The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters.

3And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.  This had to be one of the most profound moments in the history of the universe.  God spoke the word, “LET” and let went into action.  It did not waste any time.  It obeys the master’s command.  Did just what it was told to do and lit up the entire universe.

This was the very moment in time that any form of light existed upon the earth.  Do not allow your mind to become confused with the establishment of the sun, moon, and stars on the fourth day.  You see it was not until the fourth day that the Lord set the sun, moon, and stars in the heavens as light bearers and as means for establishing a calendar.

4And God saw that the light was good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it; and God separated the light from the darkness.(B)

5And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

Now the entire universe has experienced the awesome power and beauty of this light that shines forever to provide us with the light of a loving God who allows His marvelous light to light up the entire universe.

Now we can stand and tell the world that we are living in that light and that same light is reflecting from us to all that see us.  We are truly that marvelous light and in us that believe, there exist no darkness.

In our second precept, we stated that we would come into the knowledge and full understanding as to whom and what the substance that illuminates the world is.  In order for us to do that, let us take a compelling look at the life of Jesus, the son of God who became the living light.

5And this is the message [the message of [a]promise] which we have heard from Him and now are reporting to you: God is Light, and there is no darkness in Him at all [[b]no, not in any way].

6[So] if we say we are partakers together and enjoy fellowship with Him when we live and move and are walking about in darkness, we are [both] speaking falsely and do not live and practice the Truth [which the Gospel presents]. (1 John 1:5-6) (AMP)

When Jesus was on earth, his divine life illuminated the inner lives of his followers.  Everywhere he was present, he gave light.  This light penetrated people, exposing their sin and revealing divine truth.  No one could come into contact with Jesus without being enlightened.

God is light; He is the light of the world.  For so many of us, we have taken this light for granted.  When we awaken each day, we believe that this light will always be there without ever giving it a second thought of how it got there and how it remains there for our lives to exist from.

Let us reflect upon this thought for a moment; Light enables people to do their work.  It produces growth in crops; it reveals beauty and provides safety.  Light represents what is good, pure, true, holy, and reliable.  Light reveals; light shines.  God is so completely “light” that there is no darkness in him at all.  “Darkness” represents what is sinful and evil.  God is untainted by any evil or sin.  Thus “God is light” means that God is perfectly holy and true and that he alone can guide people out of the darkness of sin.

While “light” have many connotations, this reference points specifically to God’s purity.  Therefore, those who claim to have fellowship with God are living in God’s light, trying to live holy and pure lives for him.  To claim to belong to God but then to go on living in spiritual darkness is hypocritical.  Christ will expose and judge such deceit.

Now let’s for a moment take a close look at how John confronted the first of three claims of the false teachers.  When you open your bibles to (1 John 1:8 then to 1 John 1:10), you will see that John was exposing the false teachers who said that people can have fellowship with God and still walk in sin.  False teachers who thought that the physical body was evil or worthless taught one of two approaches to behavior; either they insisted on denying bodily desires through rigid discipline, or they approved of gratifying every physical lust because the body was going to be destroyed anyway.  Here John was stating that no one can claim to be a Christian and still live in evil and immorality.

Those who claim to follow the Son must be living in the light of God’s presence.  They must be illumined by the truth of God’s character.  To “live in the light” requires constant contact with God and no tolerance for dishonesty, hypocrisy, or sin.  Living in the light comes from continuous effort to take on Christ’s qualities.  This involves complete transformation from within.

Living in the light leads to fellowship with each other.  This fellowship among believers results from each believer’s having fellowship with God.  True spirituality manifests itself in community fellowship.  One cannot say that he or she communes with God and then refuse to commune with God’s people.  Such was the case with some of the false teachers of John’s day, and this situation exists among false cults today.  Often their followers and leaders claim to have special relationships with God, but they don’t affiliate with other believers.  They stay isolated and withdraw from everyone else.  John’s point is that the natural result of living in the light (in fellowship with God) should be joyful relationships with other Christians.

Another result of living in the light is that the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from every sin.  John emphasized that the death of Christ saves people, not the false teachers’ knowledge.  The verb cleanses also means “purifies.”  Sin is not only forgiven, it is completely erased.

Now as we conclude this message, let us turn to (1 John 2:5-6) (AMP) and here we will close with a final thought on the word “Obedience.”

5But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him:

6Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as [a]a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.

When we talk about Obedience it is linked not merely with knowing God but with loving him.  Those who obey God’s word really do love him.  By this obedience and love, believers can know that they live in him.  They are living in the light.  Jesus portrayed in human terms absolute obedience to the Father.  Anyone who wonders how to obey God can look at Jesus.  Those who truly desire to live in God should live their lives as Christ did.  To “live as Christ did” doesn’t mean choosing twelve disciples, performing great miracles, and being crucified.  People cannot merely copy Christ’s life.  Much of what Jesus did had to do with his identity as God’s Son and his special role in dying for sin.  Anyone’s claim to live in Christ must be backed up by following his example of complete obedience to God and loving service to people.  Then you can truly say that you are living in the light and your life is reflecting that light.  Therefore, in you there is no darkness, no evil exist nowhere in your life.  You are a walking, talking living example of Christ.  In the name of Jesus, let me here you shout it out, JESUS, JESUS, JESUS, OH HOW I LOVE TO CALL YOUR SWEET NAME.  TODAY I AM THE LIGHT THAT REFLECTS YOUR BEAUTY AND LOVE.  THANK YOU JESUS.  AMEN, AMEN, AMEN.

The church, under Christ’s control, is a living body, a dwelling, a family of believers in Christ.  As a believer we have a place where we are accepted and welcomed, where you belong and that is the church.  We also have the responsibility to accept and welcome other believers, regardless of race, sex, occupation, nationality, ability, physical characteristics, social status, or personality type.

The church is Christ’s body to carry out the work he began on earth.  He is the head of his body, directing it and motivating it to complete his ministry on earth.  As such, the church is the continuation of Christ’s incarnation, in the sense that Christ, through another human body, still lives and works on earth among human beings in a tangible, palpable way.  But it takes all the members of the body working together in harmony to fulfill the designs and desires of the head.  The body must match the head so that Christ can be fully expressed!

We as believers are part of Christ’s body, which is the church.  As such, we must live in vital union with him.  Our conduct must be consistent with this living relationship.  People in the world should be able to see Christ by looking at Christians, seeing their values, lifestyle, and loving acts of service.

Now I leave you with these questions; what do people know about Jesus by watching how you relate to other Christians?  In what ways can you use your God-given abilities to equip believers for service?  How can you fulfill your role in the living church of today?

Successful gardeners know that pruning, cutting back the branches, increases fruit bearing.  Each spring vinedressers cut back each vine to its rootstock to enhance its fruitfulness.  Sincere believers, the fruitful branches, will be “pruned,” meaning that God must sometimes discipline us to strengthen our character and faith.  However, branches that do not bear fruit are “cut off” at the trunk and are completely discarded because they are worthless and often infect the rest of the plant.  People who will not bear fruit for God or who try to block the efforts of God’s followers will be cut off from his life-giving power.

The grapevine is a prolific plant; a single vine bears many grapes.  In the Old Testament, grapes symbolized Israel’s fruitfulness in doing God’s work on earth.  The prophets had written of Israel as God’s vine, carefully planted and cared for.  However, the vine was a disappointment because it yielded only rotten fruit; that is, they refused to give him love and obedience.

Jesus, with all believers “abiding” in him, is the true vine, the true fulfillment of God’s plan for his people.  The new society of God’s people, Christians – originates from Christ and is united to him as branches to a vine.  God is the gardener, the cultivator of the vine and the branches.  Believers, both sincere and false, are pictured here as the branches.

The fruitful branches are true believers who, by their living union with Christ, produce much fruit.  Nevertheless, this union can be broken.  The Father cuts off every branch that does not produce fruit.  Those who become unproductive – those who turn back from following Christ after making a superficial commitment – will be separated from the vine.  Unproductive followers are as good as dead and will be cut off and tossed aside.

Believers are to remain in Jesus, the vine, and he will remain in us.  A vine branch can survive and produce foliage for a while after it has been severed, but it cannot produce fruit unless it is connected to a rootstock.  As Jesus had a living dependence on the Father, so believers in Jesus need to have a living dependence on him.  “Remaining,” for the disciples and for all believers today, means to make a constant, moment-by-moment decision to follow Christ.  In addition, we must not be passive-believers, we must not just sit and “remain” until they die.  Instead, we must be active-we have a lot to do.  We have to learn how to be successful Gardeners’!

During the course of our lives, we all have had someone to pray for us.  Prayer is the key that unlocks the door to our blessings, and when we learn that our purpose in life is to serve others, and we can truly be effective as a servant by praying in the Spirit for our fellowman, we are then moved to pray without ceasing.

Paul’s prayer for spiritual empowerment for the Ephesians was that they be united by the Spirit, indwelt by Christ, and filled with all the fullness of God’s love.  We know that God made the Holy Spirit available to all who believed in Jesus Christ as Savior.  The Spirit provides power for our new lives.

The Prayer that Paul prayed for Spiritual Empowerment was a beautiful and powerful prayer.  Now listen to Paul words as he spoke them in Ephesians 3:14-21:

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height.

To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of
God.  Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.  Amen.

We find that in this text’s prayer, Paul asked that the Holy Spirit deepen His work in their lives in three ways:

1.   That Christ would dwell–more literally, “be at home” in their hearts by faith, that is, that He would move from being an acquaintance to being the center of their church family;

2.   That they would grasp God’s love at a spiritual level, beyond intellectual or theological knowledge.

3.   That they would be filled with God’s fullness, that is, that the Holy Spirit would reveal the things of Christ (John 16) more fully, achieving God’s fuller work in each life unhindered, unquenched, ungrieved.
