SITTING AT THE DINING TABLE WITH JESUS

SITTING AT THE DINING TABLE WITH JESUS

CHILDREN OF GOD, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHRISTIANS AND FRIENDS; I set before you this morning a very personal question for you to ponder if you have never pondered it before.  What would it be like to sit down at the dining table with Jesus and enjoy both a physical and spiritual meal with Jesus?  What are your thoughts?

THE LORD’S SUPPER (Photo by Pastor Davis)

Today, you have entered into the upper room where I am your waiter and Jesus has given me instructions to serve up all who enters in and sits down at the table to sup with Him.  On the menu today are three very special spiritual dishes.  They are REGENERATION, SANCTIFICATION and GLORIFICATION

Now let us begin with REGENERATION; this is where the Spirit of God indwells a repentant sinner and imparts eternal life to his or her spiritually dead soul. (Eph. 2:1-5). People who are spiritually dead have no communication with God.  These people are physically alive, but their sins have rendered them spiritually unresponsive, alienated from God, and thus incapable of experiencing the full life that God could give them.

Listen clearly to what I have to say, because your soul needs regeneration.  It wasn’t so long ago that you

Entering the tunnel of life after death

were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. You let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It’s a wonder God didn’t lose his temper and do away with the whole lot of us. Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, he embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He did all this on his own, with no help from us! Then he picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah.  He revived us, and now He wants us to live, love and enjoy our spiritual meal and share it with all others.

Now let us serve you with the spiritual meal of SANCTIFICATION; It is the process in which God develops the new life of the believer and gradually brings it to perfection. (Eph. 6:11, Phil. 1:6).

In your new spiritual life you are going to come face to face with evil spirits.  God wants you to be prepared to fight and win.  Therefore, please understand the reason you are sitting at the dining table with Jesus.  His goal is to prepare you, then empower you before sending you into battle with the evil forces of darkness.  Know that God’s strength and power are part of the Kingdom blessings available to all God’s people.  You need to put on all God’s armor, the divine and complete outfit that God gives believers in order to provide all we need to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil.  The Devil rules the world of darkness, the kingdom opposed to God.

And that about wraps it up; God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.  Our ability to stand firm depends on our use of the armor.

Now our final meal for the day is GLORIFICATION; It is the ultimate salvation of the whole person. (Phil. 3:21). God wants to make us whole, are you ready to sit at this table and enjoy the fruits of peace?

When Christ returns, he will conquer everything, everywhere.  There will be no more sin, no more evil rulers, and no more persecution of believers.  Christ will be King of Kings and Lord of lords, ruler over all.  (Revelation 19:11-16).  With that same power, he will transform all believers’ weak mortal bodies into glorious bodies like Christ’s resurrected body.  Our identities will not change, but our bodies will be like Jesus glorified body.  This won’t be an external resemblance, but we will share his nature and life.

In conclusion, I ask, what did you receive from “SITTING AT THE DINING TABLE WITH JESUS?”

THE DEVIL IS WALKING ABOUT LIKE A ROARING LION

THE DEVIL IS WALKING ABOUT LIKE A ROARING LION

IN THE JUNGLE OF OUR MINDS THE OLD DEVIL IS ROAMING SEEKING WHOM HE CAN DEVOUR (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Children of God, the Lord is calling you to be very careful in your daily walk, because at every corner the old devil is seeking who he can devour.  With our Government shut down, and many more people are beginning to face some hard times, the gateway into our minds have just been opened a little wider for the devil  to enter in and take us down.

Our minds are susceptible to greater evil when we are put at risk such as our government leaders have now done.  This allows the old devil to roam and seek his victims out one by one.  The Bible tells us this, it says, “Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.” (1 Peter 5:8 AMP)

Know that if you are not careful in your walk with God you will be his next victim.  You must learn to grow in GOD’S grace.  Know that a believer’s growth sometimes may be hindered or halted by three distinct enemies: the Devil, the world, and the flesh.

We are warned how the Devil walks or roams about like a lion.  When lions hunt, they look for weak, young, isolated, unguarded animals.  They are the ones marked for attack.  The Devil’s ultimate agenda is to destroy us, not merely to hurt, maim, or discourage, but to devour and destroy us.  He does that when he gets us to bow to circumstances, pressures, or forces of his evil design, hoping thereby to make us yield to him.

To overcome this evil spirit we must adopt a reverse strategy: B.O.W. TO JESUS, the One you BELIEVE, OBEY and WORSHIP.  He overcame, refusing to bow to Satan’s devices (Matt. 4:8-10), and our growth in Him will bring the same ability to resist or stand against the Devil (1 Peter 5:9). We must be clothed in the full armor of God: be armed with the Word of God (Eph. 6:10-14), believe Him (Heb. 11:6), obey Him (1 John 3:24), and worship Him (John 4:23).  Receive Christ’s overcoming victory!

We as citizens of America have been put at risk, and the most vulnerable among us are been pushed into the direct path of the old devil.  But let us remember this, God has promised us that he would never leave us or forsake us.  He calls us to cast all our cares, our anxieties, our worries and concerns upon Him, because He cares for us affectionately and cares about us watchfully.

And finally my brothers and sisters, He reminds us to Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset—rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world. (1 Peter 5:9 AMP)

Now may the grace of our Lord and Savior cover you and keep you out off the clutches of the old devil and his evil spirits.  Be encouraged, stay focus, and stay strong as you keep your eyes on the prize which is Jesus Christ.

BE ENCOURAGED IN THE STRENGTH AND POWER OF GOD

BE ENCOURAGED IN THE STRENGTH AND POWER OF GOD

SERENITY (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

SERENITY (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Today CHRISTIANS from all around the world are being targeted and murdered.  This is a shameful act by a few cowards who seem to have no understanding are appreciation for human life.  Their moral values rest and abide in the gutter of mud.  The devil has so captivated them, wrap them up in the garment of evil, that they no longer can see the good and mercies of God, but can only see and believe in the evil and destructive ways of Satan.  This is truly a very sad commentary for some of the Children of God who have allowed Satan to still their joy and turn them into evil doers.

But make no mistake, God will have the last word, His divine power is at work right now, bringing order out of chaos.   We want CHRISTIANS everywhere to know that we here at Vine and Branch World Ministries, with our army of Disciples alone with all the people of this Nation and the Nations of the World, are standing shoulder to shoulder with you, to fight against evil where ever it may exist.  Therefore, we say to you, “BE ENCOURAGED IN THE STRENGTH AND POWER OF GOD,” “For God did not give you a spirit of fear, but he gave you a spirit of power, and a Spirit of love, and a Spirit of Self-Control(2 Timothy 6:7)

Therefore, God wants you as well as all of us as a Universal Nation, to rise up, do not be overcome by fears of the devil, but embrace each other with love, and ENCOURAGE each other in the LORD, and this is how He challenges us to do it, He says, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.  Evil cannot stand when God’s people are strong. For the Lord assures us that in our weakness, His strength is made strong.  The evil workers of the devil can target, bomb, shoot and kill incent people, but God will have the last word.

Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.

In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of Godpraying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.

To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. (Ephesians 6:10-20 ESP).

Now to all of God’s people, this is the WORD of our Lord, as He has spoken it plainly to you.  We have ministered it to you from a position of PEACE, PURPOSE, POWER and PROSPERITY, and finally, we say to you, “BE ENCOURAGED IN THE STRENGTH AND POWER OF GOD!”  I remain your brother in CHRIST JESUS, Pastor Davis/Master Teacher!

GROWING UP IN GOD'S GRACE ENCOURAGING EACH OTHER (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

GROWING UP IN GOD’S GRACE ENCOURAGING EACH OTHER (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

We are all CHILDREN OF GOD, weather we are Believers are Non-Believers. God allows the Sun to rise and shine its face on all of us.  We are all neighbors, relatives, friends and co-workers regardless of what part of the world we may live in; we live together in this world under the authority of God, and God tells us to judge not, less you be judged.  So I ask, “Why is it so difficult for us to live in peace and harmony with one another without always JUDGING AND CONDEMING ONE ANOTHER?”

Please understand this one truth, and that is, there is always a right way and a wrong way of doing anything.  When we lift a brother are sister up and provide them with a word of encouragement instead of sticking a knife into them, God will bless you abundantly.  God has given you the power to make the choice, how you use that power will determine your destiny in this world.  Now listen to what God commands you to do.

He says, “Don’t bad-mouth each other, friends. It’s God’s Word, his Message, and his Royal Rule, which takes a beating in that kind of talk. You’re supposed to be honoring the Message, not writing graffiti all over it. God is in charge of deciding human destiny. Who do you think you are to meddle in the destiny of others?” (James 4:11-12 MSG)

While a man is involved in sin he will condemn others who are likewise involved and the deeper and greater his sin the more severe will be his condemnation of others.  It is only when a man begins to sorrow for his sin, and so to rise above it into the clearer light of purity and understanding, that he ceases from condemning others and learns to sympathies with them.

The truly good and wise man condemns no one; having put away all blind passion and selfishness he lives in the calm regions of love and peace, and understands all modes of sin, with their consequent sufferings and sorrows.  Enlightened and awakened, freed from all selfish bias, and seeing men as they are, his heart responds in holy sympathy with all.  Should any condemn, abuse, or slander him he throws around them the kindly protection of his sympathy, seeing the ignorance which prompts them so to act, and knowing that they alone will suffer for their wrong acts.

Now in closing, I will leave you with God’s final word in hopes that it will lift you up out of your sinful nature of Judging and Condemning your fellowman.  Here is what God has to say to you, “So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet.”  (James 4:7-10 MSG)

Now I say to you “ENCOURAGE SOMEONE IN THE LORD TODAY.”   Think globally as you work locally in your church and community to help bring about a change in someone’s life this day.  We minister to you from a position of peace, purpose, power and prosperity.

THIS IS YOUR YEAR TO ACHIEVE THE VICTORY

THIS IS YOUR YEAR TO ACHIEVE THE VICTORY

PASTOR DAVIS MASTER TEACHER, TEACHES BIBLE STUDY LESSONS ON ACHIEVING THE VICTORY

PASTOR DAVIS MASTER TEACHER, TEACHES BIBLE STUDY LESSONS ON ACHIEVING THE VICTORY

Let me begin this discussion by assuring you that nothing is beyond your reach.  All that you have not achieved in this past year is waiting for you in this New Year.  Stay focus on the prize, you have set very high and achievable goals for this brand new year.  Now we will teach you how to achieve them.

The very first thing you must know, and that is, “you are the master of your destination.”  Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.  Therefore, we ask you to clear out all negative thinking, and fill your mind with beautiful thoughts of the possibilities that lie ahead.

Remember, just as a good tree bears good fruit and a diseased tree bears inedible fruit, so the fruits of a person’s life will show the quality of his or her character.

THE GRAPEVINE

THE GRAPEVINE

Fruit is a comprehensive word, referring to teaching, character, and action.  Our character is revealed by our conduct.  Our thoughts become that which we choose to be.

The journey will not be easy, but as we stated in the beginning, “it is achievable.”  Every step you take, the devil will be waiting to take you down.   He will be walking about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, and if you are not careful in your walk with God you will be his next victim.  You must learn to grow in God’s grace.  Why, Because God has already provided the victory just for you.  Placing your faith in God and not in the world is the beginning of all knowledge that will transform your life and put you on the right track to achieving your desired goals.  Know that a believer’s growth sometimes may be hindered or halted by three distinct enemies: the Devil, the world, and the flesh.

We are warned how the Devil walks or roams about like a lion.  When lions hunt, they look for weak, young,

isolated, unguarded animals. To overcome this evil spirit we must adopt a reverse strategy: I will call this strategy, “B.O.W. TO JESUS,” the One you BELIEVE, OBEY and WORSHIP.

When our minds are filled with the word, our strategies for achieving our desired goals are assured.  Nothing can stop us now, although the devil will continue to lay stumbling blocks in our path way, however, because our minds are centered on God and we are filled with the word, these stumbling blocks are opportunities to continue to move forward at great speed.

The first step in this process is to “WRITE THE VISION,”  (we will present this strategy in complete details in our next lesson.)   Now I encourage you to study this step very carefully and comply with its instructions.

The next step in the process is for you to study your written plan and focus all your attention on it like a laser beam.  Know that all that you do is part of the process; each step you take is placing you in the flow towards achieving the greatest victory that you have ever imaged.  The process will never be easy, but it is achievable.

Now listen up, to the word of God as spoken by Peter in the book of (1 Peter 5:5-8).  Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elder.  Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”  Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.  Be sober; be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

RIVER OF LIFE (Photo by Pastor Davis)

RIVER OF LIFE (Photo by Pastor Davis)

Therefore, remain in the flow where all streams will lead you towards the lake, from there the flow of the lake will lead you into deeper and wider streams of fishing called the rivers of life.  As you navigate from the river, the flow will take you into the ocean where you shall conquer your greatest victory of all.  Stay with us and we will help to get you there.  Remember, keep your eyes focus on Jesus, because he is your navigator, we are just the instrument that he has placed in your hands to help you day by day.

Today, we have ministered to you from a position of PEACE, PURPOSE, POWER and PROSPERITY.  Always think globally as you work locally to achieve your dreams, because they are truly only a thought away.  I remain your brother in JESUS CHRIST, PASTOR DAVIS/MASTER TEACHER!

HOW JESUS DEFEATED SATAN IN OPEN COMBAT

HOW JESUS DEFEATED SATAN IN OPEN COMBAT

We all will face temptation of some sort in our lives.  How we deal with it will be a test of our faith and determination to always be obedient to the word of God.  In today’s market place with so many people facing poverty, and their faith being tested by the devil daily from lack of the basic necessities of life, such as not enough food to eat, unable to pay their mortgages and car notes, not being able to find a job, the prices of everything continues to rise and the income of so many people remain unchanged.

TEMPTATION (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

In our quest to rise from the jaws of defeat and grow in God’s grace by living a righteous life and not subsuming to Satan’s temptation, we will do well to learn how Jesus took Satin on in open combat and defeated him.  After Jesus baptism, he left the Jordan River to go out into the wildernessJesus then took the offensive against his enemy, the Devil, by going into the wilderness to face temptation.  Now I ask you, would you put yourself in the same situation, knowing today how cunning the Devil is?

Now let us be under no false elusion concerning the Devil.  He is a real being, a created yet rebellious fallen angel, and not a symbol or an idea.  He constantly fights against God and those who follow and obey GodSatan is not omnipresent, nor is he all powerful.   Through the evil spirits under his dominion, Satan works everywhere attempting to draw people away from God and into his own darkness.

It was the Holy Spirit that compelled Jesus into the wilderness where God put Jesusto the test not to

THE BEAUTY OF BEING AND EXISTENCE IN THE WILDERNESS (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

see if Jesus was ready, but to show that he was ready for his missionSatan, however, had other plans; he hoped to thwart Jesus mission by tempting him to do evil.  Why was it necessary for Jesus to be tempted?  Temptation is part of the human experience.  For Jesus to be fully human, he had to face temptationJesus had to undo Adam’s workAdam, though created perfect, gave in to temptation and passed sin on to the whole human race.  Jesus, by contrast, resisted Satan.  His victory offers salvation to Adam’s descendants.

We can assume from our studies that during those forty days, Jesus ate nothing; therefore at the end he was very hungryJesus status as God’s Son did not make this fast any easier; his physical body suffered the severe hunger and pain of going without sustenance.  The three temptations recorded in the scriptures which we will now discuss here was at his most a physically weakened state.

Now let us look at the first temptation, what was said and how Jesus handled it.  The Devil, playing on his hunger, gave the first test: “Since you’re God’s Son, command this stone to turn into a loaf of bread. “Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy: “It takes more than bread to really live.”  (Luke 4:3-4 AMP)  On the surface, this might seem to be a fairly harmless act, even a compassionate suggestion.  Jesus was very hungry, so why not use the resources at his command and change a stone into a loaf of bread?  In this case, however, the sin was not in the act but in the reason behind it.  The Devil was trying to get Jesus to take a shortcut, to solve his immediate problem at the expense of his long range goals, to seek comfort at the sacrifice of his disciplineSatan often works that way—persuading people to take action, even right action, for the wrong reason or at the wrong time.  The fact that something is not wrong in itself does not mean that it is good for someone at a given time.  Many people sin by attempting to fulfill legitimate desires outside of God’s will or ahead of his timetable.

As we stated in the beginning of this lesson, “we will all face some sort of temptation at some point in our lives, how we deal with them at the moment we are confronted with it will be the test of whether we fail are if we endure to fight another day.  Jesus understood that obedience to the Father’s mission was more important than food.  Making himself bread would have shown that he had not quite set aside all his powers, had not humbled himself, and had not identified completely with the human race.  But Jesus refuse, showing that he would use his powers only in submission to God’s plan.

GOD’S VAST RESOURCES (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

For the second test he led him up and spread out all the kingdoms of the earth on display at once. Then the Devil said, “They’re yours in their entire splendor to serve your pleasure. I’m in charge of them all and can turn them over to whomever I wish. Worship me and they’re yours, the whole works.”  (Luke 4:5-7 AMP).  Now the Devil truly does have his game face on, and by offering Jesus all the kingdoms of the earth, he figures he has him right where he wants him and Jesus seeing that the Devil can offer him the world that was once his, Jesus will more than jump for this grand offer.

The Devil’s grand plan was to succeed in his rebellion against God by diverting Jesus from his mission and winning his worship.  Satan tempted Jesus to take the world as an earthly Kingdom right hen, without carrying out the plan to save the world from sin.  For Jesus, that meant obtaining his promised dominion over the world without experiencing the suffering and death of the crossSatan offered a painless shortcut.  But Satan didn’t understand that suffering, and death were a part of God’s plan that Jesus had chosen to obey.

The fact that Jesus could see all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time supports the view that this experience was visionary.  The focus is not on the mountain, but on those kingdoms that were (and are) under Satan’s dominion (John 12:3).  Satan offered to give dominion over the world to Jesus.  This challenged Jesus obedience to God’s timing and will.  Satan’s temptation was, in essence, “Why wait?  I can give this to you now!”  Of course, the offer had a catch:  “If you will bow down and worship me.”

We know Jesus was not about to do this, so what was he to do?  Jesus once again following scripture, backed  his refusal with Deuteronomy: “Worship the Lord your God and only the Lord your God. Serve him with absolute single-heartedness.”  For Jesus to gain rule over the world by worshiping Satan would not only be a contradiction (Satan would still be in control), but it would also break the first commandment, “You must worship the Lord your God; serve only him: (Deuteronomy 6:4-5, 13).  To accomplish his mission of bringing salvation to the world, Jesus would take the path of submission to God.

Now as we come into the home stretch of Satan trying to out for nest the master, scripture says this,

Upon this Rock Satan commands Jesus to Jump (Photo by Pastor Davis)

“For the third test the Devil took him to Jerusalem and put him on top of the Temple. He said, “If you are God’s Son, jump. It’s written, isn’t it, that ‘he has placed you in the care of angels to protect you; they will catch you; you won’t so much as stub your toe on a stone’?”  (Luke 4:9-11 AMP).

Whether the Devil physically took Jesus to Jerusalem, or whether this occurred in a vision is unclear.  In any case, Satan was setting the stage for his next temptationJesus had quoted Scripture in response to ‘Satan’s other temptations.  Here Satan tried the same tactic with Jesus: he used Scripture to try to convince Jesus to sinSatan was quoting from Psalm 91:11-12 to support his request.  The psalm describes God’s protection for those who trust him.  Obviously Satan was misinterpreting Scripture, making it sound as though God protests even through sin, removing the natural consequences of sinful acts. Jumping from the roof in order to test God’s protection for those who, while being in his will and serving him, find themselves in danger.  It does not promise protection for artificially created crises in which Christians call to God in order to test his love and care.

An artificially created crisis is what we as the people of America and the world find ourselves in today with our government leaders.  This is causing hardship on many people, providing Satan with powers to set us up for destruction and disobedient of God’s will, but Jesus would have none of this and we as faithful servant’s should study Jesus mode of face to face combat with this powerful enemy, and perhaps we could learn a thing or two in how we can face Satin down when he attacks us.

Remember, the Bible clearly teaches us, to study in order that we may gain the knowledge to activate the powers God has already provided to us in order that we may fight Satin with the same tools as Jesus did.

Now this is how Jesus handles Satan’s third and final attach at this time.  He said, “ [The Scripture] says, You shall not tempt (try, test exceedingly) the Lord your God. (Luke 4:12 AMP).  Jesus used the Scripture with an understanding of the true meaning.  The facts were that while God promises to protect his people, he also requires that they not test him.  In the passage in Deuteronomy 6:16, Moses was referring to an incident during Israel’s wilderness wanderings, recorded in Exodus 17:1-7.  The people were thirsty and ready to commit mutiny against Moses and return to Egypt if he did not provide them with water.  Jesus knew that for him to jump from the pinnacle of the Temple, would have been a ridiculous test of God’s power, and it would have been out of God’s will.  Jesus knew that his Father could protect him; he also understood that all his actions were to be focused on fulfilling his Father’s mission.

Jesus remains to this day obedient to his Father’s will and not to Satin’s temptation.  Now my question is to each one of you again, how would you have handled Satin’s attempts to provide you with money, fame and power over the world in light of your present situation?

We encourage you, to be obedient to God, and do not allow Satin to take you out of God’s will.  It is the only will that can provide you with eternal life.  So please stop taking it for granted.  The choice is clearly yours to make.  No one forces you to do wrong.  So chose this day, whom you will serve.  We minister to you from a position of peace, purpose, power and prosperity.  I remain your brother in CHRIST, PASTOR DAVIS/MASTER TEACHER!

THE DEVIL IS A REAL BEING

Satan Is Real

Satan Is Real (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

THE DEVIL IS A REAL BEING

The devil is a real being and this is an undisputed fact.  He tempted Jesus and why would we not believe that he would not do the same to us.  A better question might be this, “why are we always accusing God of allowing the devil to temp us into doing wrong? In order words allowing us to get caught up in a sea of sin, the story of Jesus’ temptation is an important demonstration of his power and sinlessness.  He faced temptation and did not give in.  We as His followers should trust in him as we too face temptations that will test our faithfulness to God.  In the end, will we give into the devil’s temptation and suffer the agony of living in sin, whaling in it like hogs whaling in a pig pin.

The word “devil” in Greek means “accuser;” in Hebrew, the word Satan means the same.  The Devil, who tempted Adam and Eve in the garden, also tempted Jesus in the wildernessThe Devil is a real being, a created yet rebellious fallen angel, and not a symbol or an idea.  He constantly fights against God and those who follow and obey God.  Satan is not omnipresent, nor is he all-powerful.  Through the evil spirits under his dominion, Satan works everywhere attempting to draw people away from God and into his own darkness.

Since you now know that the devil and Satan are one and the same, and when you are always been accused of doing wrong, and you are speaking truth, you now know that it is Satan working his magic as the accuser attempting to destroy you with his lies.  The devil is a liar, know this as truth.  He is also known as the angel of light. The most beautiful angel God had ever created, and as such he is able to make himself as beautiful as need be in order to have his way with you. However, you must always resist the devil as the true liar that he really is, and always tell him to get the behind you.

Now when God compelled Jesus to go into the wilderness, this would become his greatest challenge.  God was putting Jesus to the test, not to see if Jesus was ready, but to show that he was ready for his mission.  Satin, however, had other plans, he hoped to thwart Jesus’ mission by tempting him to do evil. This is the same thing that Satan does to us, when God sends us on a mission.  Why was it necessary for Jesus to be tempted?  Because temptation is part of the human experience, For Jesus to be fully human, he had to face temptation.  Jesus had to undo Adam’s work.  Adam, though created perfect, gave in to temptation and passed sin on to the whole human race.  Jesus, by contrast, resisted Satan.  His victory offers salvation to Adam’s descendants.  We are those descendants and as such, we have victory over Satan. The choice is always ours.

Now listen to how the devil begin to execute his plan of attack upon Jesus, at the very moment when he thought Jesus was at his weakest point, which is the same thing that he does to us, as he seeks to find the weak spots in our armor. The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” And Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone.” (Luke 4:3-4 ESV).  Instead of Jesus giving in to Satan temptation, Jesus turns the table on him, and use the word of God to push Satan back away from him. Although at this very moment Jesus was very hungry, and Jesus being God himself could have used his awesome power to turn those stones into bread.

On the surface, this might seem to be a fairly harmless act, even a compassionate suggestion, so why not use the resources that he had at his command and change a stone into a loaf of bread?

In this case, however, the sin was not in the act but in the reason behind it.  The Devil was trying to get Jesus to take a shortcut, to solve his immediate problem at the expense of his long range goals, to seek comfort at the sacrifice of his discipline.  Satan often works that way, persuading people to take action, even right action, for the wrong reason or at the wrong time.  The fact that something is not wrong in itself does not mean that it is good for someone at a given time.  Many people sin by attempting to fulfill legitimate desires outside of God’s will or ahead of his time table.

Jesus understood that obedience to the Father’s mission was more important than food.  Making himself bread would have shown that he had not quite set aside all his powers, had not humbled himself, and had not identified completely with the human race.  But Jesus refused, showing that he would use his powers only in submission to God’s plan.

The Devil is always prowling around, seeking to turn us around and become just like him, but the bible commands us to, “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. (1 Peter 5:8-9 ESV).

In closing, just remember, “THE DEVIL IS A REAL BEING, and the father of lies, as such he is seeking to destroy you and tear down God’s Kingdom. Will you become his next victim?

ENCOURAGE SOMEONE IN THE LORD TODAY

ARE YOU ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE ALWAYS CONDEMING AND JUDGING OTHERS?

ENCOURAGEMENT

But this ceaseless condemnation of each other by those who are involved in the fierce play of the passions must needs be, for it is one of the modes of operation of the Great Law which universally and eternally obtains, and the unrighteous one who falls under the condemnation of his fellows will the more rapidly reach a higher and nobler condition of heart and life if he humbly accepts the censure of others as the effect of his own sin, and resolves henceforward to refrain from all condemnation of others.

Now I say to you, “ENCOURAGE SOMEONE IN THE LORD TODAY.”   Think globally as you work locally in your church and community to help bring about a change in someone’s life this day.  We minister to you from a position of peace, purpose, power and prosperity.

It was the Holy Spirit that compelled Jesus into the wilderness where God put Jesus to the test not to see if Jesus was ready, but to show that he was ready for his missionSatan, however, had other plans; he hoped to thwart Jesus mission by tempting him to do evil.

Now as we come into the home stretch of Satan trying to out for nest the master, scripture says this, “For the third test the Devil took him to Jerusalem and put him on top of the Temple.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE READING BE SOBER AND VIGILANT

King James Version of the Bible

 BE SOBER AND VIGILANT

1 Peter 5:8 KJV

8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

2 Peter 2:4-5 KJV

4For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

5And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

Jude 1:5-7  (KJV)

5I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

6And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

7Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Revelation 12:7-12  (MSG)

7-12War broke out in Heaven. Michael and his Angels fought the Dragon. The Dragon and his Angels fought back, but were no match for Michael. They were cleared out of Heaven, not a sign of them left. The great Dragon—ancient Serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, the one who led the whole earth astray—thrown out, and all his Angels thrown out with him, thrown down to earth. Then I heard a strong voice out of Heaven saying,

Salvation and power are established!
Kingdom of our God, authority of his Messiah!
The Accuser of our brothers and sisters thrown out,
who accused them day and night before God.
They defeated him through the blood of the Lamb
and the bold word of their witness.
They weren’t in love with themselves;
they were willing to die for Christ.
So rejoice, O Heavens, and all who live there,
but doom to earth and sea,
For the Devil’s come down on you with both feet;
he’s had a great fall;
He’s wild and raging with anger;
he hasn’t much time and he knows it.

May God add a blessing to the reader, the hearer and doer of His Holy Word?  If you have not accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, why not do it right NOW. Just say, Jesus I repent of my sins, I accept you as my Lord and Savior, come in to my heart and cleanse me this day, Amen. If you prayed this simple prayer you are now saved.  We encourage you to find yourself a local Bible Teaching Church and allow other believers to encourage you in the word, then return here and study with us daily.  We guarantee you will come to know the truth and by so doing, the truth will set you FREE.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE READING (JESUS FAITH IS TESTED)

The Temptation of Christ

Image by Thomas Hawk via Flickr

JESUS FAITH IS TESTED (ARE WE ANY DIFFERENT?) MATTHEW 4:1-11 MSG

Jesus was taken into the wild by the Spirit for the Test. The Devil was ready to give it. Jesus prepared for the Test by fasting forty days and forty nights. That left him, of course, in a state of extreme hunger, which the Devil took advantage of in the first test: “Since you are God‘s Son, speak the word that will turn these stones into loaves of bread.”

Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy: “It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth.”

For the second test the Devil took him to the Holy City. He sat him on top of the Temple and said, “Since you are God’s Son, jump.” The Devil goaded him by quoting Psalm 91: “He has placed you in the care of angels. They will catch you so that you won’t so much as stub your toe on a stone.”

Jesus countered with another citation from Deuteronomy: “Don’t you dare test the Lord your God.”

For the third test, the Devil took him to the peak of a huge mountain. He gestured expansively, pointing out all the earth’s kingdoms, how glorious they all were. Then he said, “They’re yours—lock, stock, and barrel. Just go down on your knees and worship me, and they’re yours.”

10Jesus’ refusal was curt: “Beat it, Satan!” He backed his rebuke with a third quotation from Deuteronomy: “Worship the Lord your God, and only him. Serve him with absolute single-heartedness.”

11The Test was over. The Devil left. And in his place, angels! Angels came and took care of Jesus’ needs.

May God add a blessing to the reader of His Holy Word, the hearer and the doer, in Jesus name.

SATAN HAS MOVED HIS BATTLEFIELD INTO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

Title page of first edition of Cases of Consci...

SATAN HAS MOVED HIS BATTLEFIELD INTO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

Ephesians 6:11-18

Have you ever stopped to observe what was around you?  For most of us we are so busy trying to earn a living to support our families and life style, it makes it very hard for us to see the forest because we are always looking straight ahead into the trees.  Nevertheless, if we ever took the time to observe what was around us, we would then realize that the battlefield is wherever we are.  It does not matter if we are at our homes, school, job, library, concert hall or church, the battlefield will always be where we are.  Satan is and will always be an enemy of God.  His job is to recruit, recruit and recruit, and believe me; he does his job very well.  Satan does not discriminate on the basics of race, creed, color or national origin.  He is out to destroy God’s kingdom, and that means anyone who is a believer of God is a target of Satan.

Therefore, when we understand our purpose and mission in life, we then know that the enemy we are fighting is a very smart, cunning and a elusive devil.  His territory is very large and continues to expand every day.  So finding the battlefield for us should not be very hard as long as we are committed to staying the course and following in the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ.  The battlefield for us will always be close by.  Our neighborhoods are filled with gangs, drugs, prostitution and all sorts of petty crimes.  In some major cities, people are prisons in their own homes.  They have still bars on their windows and doors.  Their homes are like a fort.  In order for them to enter in or come out, they have to struggle to unlock the bars they are locked behind.  Some people have even died in their homes from fires because they could not get out from behind the steel bars they had locked themselves behind.

Our school from all over the country, which is located in almost every neighborhood in America, has become one of the most potent battlefields in America today.  Each day more than 250,000 kids carry some type of weapon into our schools to either defend themselves or threaten someone else with them in order to show how big and bad they themselves really are.  Kids are shooting and killing other kids because the evil that the old devil has been able to penetrate into our perimeter around the battlefield we have established for ourselves.  When we stop and consider for a moment that our children are our futures, we cannot but to conclude that the enemy has brought the fight to us.

Even on our jobs, we have to worry about offending anyone, because so many people are stressed out, worrying about not making enough money to support their families. Whether or not they are going to lose their job because of out sourcing, whether or not a family member will become ill and they not have the proper medical insurance to meet their needs.  These are just a few of the many problems that we face in the work place that make people fill unstable and freak out and the next thing you know people are running to seek shelter because someone has lost it all and feel that they have to take revenge on anyone that happens to be in their way.  They come into the work place fully armed and just start to shooting at anyone that gets in their way.

It has now become harder to drive down the highway because someone feels they just do not like you, or they feel you just got in their way and you are holding them up from getting to where they are going.  Just a few months ago down in Atlanta, Ga., a driver in a small car for whatever reason got angry with a eighteen wheeler and decided to take his road rage out on the driver.  He took his gun out and shot into the sleeper of the driver’s eighteen-wheeler.  The bullet missed the driver, but hit the driver’s three-year-old son that was sleeping in the bunk at the time, killing the baby.

This to me is unacceptable in the 21st century. We must not continue to allow evil to dedicate our destiny.  We have a King that roars like a might lion who is our protector.  He does not know or accept defeat.  We must believe that we as a chosen disciple of the one living God has been given the power to change the course of our destiny by changing the way we view the people that are committing the evil crimes within our communities.  We should never forget that evil survives because we choose to let it rule over us.  We must resist it on every hand, using the power that God gives us, and believe me, we do have the power to stand up and take the fight to the enemy.  God has given us that power if we choose to use it.  All we have to do is call on him.  He said that he would never leave us or forsake us.  He will always be right there with us even until the end of time.

Standing up to the enemy may not be the way you would view your mission in this world, but if you don’t, who will?  Sometimes we have to just say no to the enemy, and do what is unpopular at the time even if our life depends on it.  If we stand up for Christ we are most certain to lose our life, but what are we living for any way.  This world is not our home; we are just passing through on our way to our eternal home.  We must be prepared to face the enemy with all our strength and might.  Then and only then will the enemy have a sense of who we are.  The enemy will always feel that he is the biggest and baldest bully in town as long as we allow him to back us down.  There comes a time in our lives when we must say no backing away or running away from a situation that I can no longer tolerate.  This enemy is threaten my family, my community, my way of life, and if I don’t do something about it right now, I will no longer have a family or community to live in, because he is taken it all away.  It is up to me to end this right here and now.

It is time to take the battle to the enemy…

As we have discovered, Satan is a very potent enemy.  His aim is to destroy our communities, our schools, our families, our churches and ultimately, God’s kingdom.  We have a choice in whether or not Satan gets his way.  We can through our hands up and walk away from everything we have work so hard to build, or we can take it to God and ask Him for help in defeating the old devil himself.  It is either our way or God’s way.  One thing we know for certain, our way is headed for failure.  However, if we take it to God and leave it in his hands, He will show us just how to take the battle to Satan and win.

Now listen to what Paul tells us about how to protect ourselves as we prepare to take the fight to the enemy.  Paul says, “Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly reams.  Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.  With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.  (Ephesians 6:11-18)

MY MAXIMIZE PRAYER TO BE A GOOD LISTENER

Father I thank you for the power of your word.

Father anoint your word today as a seed in my life and in the life of all those who pray this prayer.  For I know that all truths resides in your word, and your word will bring life changing experiences, destiny accelerating and revelations of you.

You gave us the word that it may guide us, instruct us, protect us as well as discipline us.

Now Father, grant me the wisdom to do your will before man that he may see your good works as I become a doer of your word in Jesus Christ.

Father, I am claiming the victory over all evil thoughts, over all evil spirits, and the power of Satan to keep me in bondage.  In Jesus Name, Amen.

HOW LEADERS BUILD SUCCESSFUL TEAMS

In 2 Samuel 23:8-17, we discover how David built one of the most successful fighting teams, because he knew what it took as a leader to
mold and shape the talents of men that had the spirit of God in them. David knew that the mark of a great leader is how many great people will join his or her team.  David’s team was comprised of “mighty
men.” Because David attempted mighty things, only the mighty could keep up with him.  Those who could not keep pace could not join the team.

Don Bennett was the first amputee to climb Mt. Rainier.  His testimony is simple—if you try such a feat with only one leg, “you can’t do it alone.”  That makes a lot of sense!  However, what is not immediately obvious is that not just anyone can help.  Bennett did not recruit his helpers in a nursing home.  He built a team of people who wanted to climb a 14,410-foot peak and who
could climb a 14,410-foot peak.  One who attempts mighty feats had better be capable of recruiting a mighty team.

David did that.  His was one of the most celebrated teams in the entire Old Testament.  This group was the all-star team of his battle-hardened warriors.  Several things stand out as we consider how David pulled his team together.

First, he spent time with them in battle.  These men were welded to David by the hot fires of battle.  His inner circle consisted of those men who had fought alongside him.  He knew their capabilities, because he had seen what they could do with his own eyes.

Second, he sacrificed for them.  When three of his mighty men risked their lives to obtain drinking water for him during a battle, David refused to drink it, choosing instead to pour it out onto the ground.  That act of sacrifice communicated a depth of devotion and love that had to have impressed those warriors.

Third, they enjoyed victory together.  Time and again David and his mighty men faced
seemingly insurmountable odds and saw God deliver them

Finally, David honored them.  These men were well known throughout the land as “David’s Mighty Men.”  That phrase served as a banner that set them apart as extraordinary.

As you read this account, one thing becomes clear;  David knew he couldn’t do it alone.  A team is capable of accomplishing things that no individual, no matter how multi-talented, could do alone.  To function well, a team must be committed to a common vision and purpose, and it must be willing to work in unity for the improvement of the whole rather than the advancement of any one member.

Teams are comprised of positional specialists.  These individuals have been recruited on the
basis of individual ability and expected contribution.  But they arent’t a solid team until their
individual strengths combine to produce an outcome which no single member alone could have produced.  High performance teams are tough to build.  So we look to the Master Teacher for a demonstration of how to recruit and mold a world-class team.

Every competent leader knows the importance of building a team.  But how is this accomplished?  Strong teams functioning at their best reflect similarities to the relationship that exists within the divine Trinity.  When a team works together in an order-centered manner, it mirrors the creativity and mutual regard that is derived from God himself.

LEADERS MUST CULTIVATE A PERSONAL VISION

Few things are more important to effective leadership than a vision.  Good leaders foresee something out there, vague as it might appear from the distance that others do not see.  Godly leaders who are followers of Christ must first have a vision of who God is and the future he holds for them.  They must also have a sense of what God has called them to do.

What is the focus of your life?  Are you a person of passion for the things of God, or is that passion just a sporadic experience for you?  If you had to describe the compelling treasure in your life, what would it look like?

It is crucial for a leader to know how to identify and cultivate a personal vision.  However, where do such visions originate?  Burt Nanus provides us with a good definition of the word vision, and Jesus demonstrates how to keep our vision in line with God’s purposes.

In his book Visionary Leadership, Burt Nanus defines a vision as “a realistic, credible, attractive future for your organization.  It is your articulation of a destination toward which your organization should aim, a future that is better, more successful, or more desirable for your organization than is the present.”  Nanus contends that the right vision “Is an idea so energizing that it in effect jump-starts the future by calling forth the skills, talents, and resources to make it happen.”

Over the course of his ministry, Jesus consistently cast an energizing vision of the coming kingdom of God.  He repeatedly described the character and conduct that would define
citizens of that kingdom.  The Lord’s vision was so compelling that the twelve disciples left everything to follow his lead.  Thousands of others also took their direction from him.

Yet, in spite of the Lord’s consistent message, the disciples had a hard time grasping the fact that ushering in the kingdom of God would require suffering.  When Jesus clearly explained his impending death, Peter rebuked him for making such an assertion.  He was probably shocked when the Lord abruptly turned the tables and said, “Get behind me, Satan!”  Peter’s problem was that he allowed his personal and self-centered agenda to box in God’s plan.  Ultimately, such self-serving visions are satanically inspired.

Leaders need to be sure their vision is consistent with God’s purposes.  Moreover, when cross currents threaten to sweep the vision into another channel, they must work to keep it heading in the right direction.  They cannot allow self-serving interests—their own or someone else’s—to distort their vision of the future and prevent God’s purposes from being fulfilled.

I ENCOURAGE YOU TO BE STRONG

Know that this day you are a child of the King, and as such you are precious in His sight. Nothing in life is ever promised to be easy, but the joy of it all is being able to experience the pain without feeling the hurt. No pain, no gain. What we come to understand about this life is that God will never put on us more than we can bear. He also promised that He would never leave us are forsake us, and that is one check you can take to the bank and it forever pay you more than enough dividends to live on for the rest of your earthy life.

I have been there. I have experienced some of what you are now experiencing, but today I am encouraging you to remain strong, the devil wants to destroy your mind by taking you down the road of negativity, and if you give him half a chance he will defeat you.

Let me share with you some thoughts I hope that can encourage you and lift you up and fill your heart with peace.

Years ago, I learned an invaluable lesson; Whatever we focus on, we become. That simple statement taught me a great deal. Wherever we put our energies or our attention, those things will develop. Another way I like to say it is, “Where the mind goes, the mind follows!”
If I begin to think about ice cream, I will soon find myself in my car pursuing ice cream. My thought will stir my desires and emotions, and I will make the decision to follow them.
If we focus only on the negative things in our lives, we become negative people. Everything, including our conversation, becomes negative. We soon lose our joy and live miserable lives and it all started with our own thinking.

You might be experiencing some problems in life not realizing that you are creating them yourself by what you’re choosing to think about. I challenge you to think about what you’re thinking about!
You might be discouraged and even depressed and wonder what caused it. Yet if you will examine your thought life, you will find that you are feeding the negative emotions you are feeling. Negative thoughts are fuel for discouragement, depression, and many other unpleasant emotions.
We should choose our thoughts carefully. We can think about what is wrong with our lives or about what is right with them. We can think about what is wrong with all the people we are in relationship with or we see the good and meditate on that. The Bible teaches us to always believe the best. When we do that, it makes our own lives happier and more peaceful.

I have a great life, I have wonderful children and many beautiful loving grand children. I have been blessed and am privileged to be used by God to bless millions of people around the world through the wonderful ministry He has given me. But life isn’t perfect, and if I had allowed the devil to fill my mind with negative thoughts as he once did long ago, I would have been defeated.
I want to focus on God’s grace and give thanks for all the good things in my life. I don’t want to focus on what I don’t have.

An old friend used to quote this saying: “As you wander on through life, brother, whatever be your goal, keep your eye upon the donut and not upon the hole.” Too many people focus on what’s not here and what’s not right.

All of this is to say that our thoughts largely determine our destiny. Our thoughts also determine our happiness. Proverbs 23:7 is one of my favorite verses. Thoughts are powerful. They aren’t just words that flow through our minds. So it is very important for us to decide what we will allow to rest inside our minds.

We must not forget that the mind is a battlefield. We must always remember that our adversary will use it in any way he possibly can to trap us. To put it another way, we can’t have a positive life and a negative mind. Our thoughts, our focus are what determine where we end up.
Jesus, our friend and Savior, wants our minds to be filled with positive, beautiful, and healthy thoughts. The more we focus on those things, the more readily we defeat Satan’s attacks.
My Maximized Prayer for you today is this; our most high, ever loving and patient God, I ask You to forgive me for focusing my thoughts on things that are not pleasing to You. I pray that You will help me fill my mind with thoughts that are clean and pure and uplifting. Strengthen me in my time of weakness; lift me up so that I may continue to see the beauty in all things that are before me. In Jesus name, Amen.

Peace, power, purpose and prosperity will fill your day, this I bless to you with all my love.

You Can Be Healed by your Faith

First Things First.

God is love, (1 John 4:16), full of compassion and mercy, (Ps. 86:15), no respecter of persons, (Acts 10:34), and does ONLY good, Luke 18:19)! God DID NOT put sickness on you! It IS Gods’ will to heal… YOU! (He is just waiting for you to catch up). Will God heal you? Yes, it is His will, if it is your will. The ball is in your court.

What about faith?

[Mat. 17:20] …If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
How many of us have tried this one out on one of our local mountains to no avail?
I always thought this scripture to be a little odd, seemingly rubbing our noses in how little faith we have. What is it? Where does it come from? Do we have ANY faith?

What is it?

(Heb 11:1) Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Where does it come from?

(Rom 10:17) Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Do we have ANY faith?

(Rom. 12:3) For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith

If we believe the word of God and have accepted the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and are reading and hearing that word, then we DO HAVE at least the faith of the mustard seed! Yes, even if our measure of faith is tiny, we do have enough! So then, why does the mountain not move!? Because, this scripture is an analogy… a very important analogy. I had been going to church and a student of the bible for over 25 years before I understood this!

What a revelation to realize that ‘this mountain’ is analogous and symbolic of whatever seemingly huge, immovable problem, (or even some terrible illness), that is blocking our way in life! And, this wonderful scripture tells us exactly what to do! We are to step up and face ‘this mountainous problem,’ and SAY to it “Get out of my way… and Go jump in the lake!” Using language similar to casting out a demon, and to do this by the power and authority of the name of Jesus.

(Mark 11:23) “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall SAY unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall BELIEVE that those things which he SAITH shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he SAITH.
Mark 11:24: Therefore I say unto you, what things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, BELIEVE that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

Have what? You shall have whatever you SAID

Faith, is not your “religion” or a state of mind. Faith is more than believing IN God and Jesus. Faith is more than belief that God or Jesus can or even will do something! Faith is the BELIEVING, that we ALREADY HAVE, what we SAID, we were asking for! (And the SAYING is just as important as the BELIEVING). Faith is belief that God has ALREADY done something because his word said he would! Because, faith is BELIEVING God, and then ACTING on it. When I learned this, I immediately got better, but still kept having symptoms. I was sure that I was still missing something, so I kept looking until I found the answers.

You see, faith is not just something that you have. It is something that you have to use! (James 2:14-26

You vs. The devil.

Jesus stripped, (spoiled or disarmed), the devil and his demons of all their weapons, all their armor, all their power and authority, (Col 2:14,15). Jesus then humiliated all of them, (vs. 15), and even took the devils’ keys! (Rev 1:18

On the other hand, Jesus has given us the authority to use His Name in authority over “all things”. He gave us “Power of Attorney”, to use his name to do all that he did. That Name, the name of JESUS is above ALL other names, (Eph 1:21 & Phil 2:9). (Note: Christ is NOT Jesus’ last name. But that is a whole other subject. Just remember that Jesus is the name.) ALL other names must bow, (i.e., submit), to the NAME of JESUS. (Remember: Everything has a name. i.e., cancer, the devil, etc..) His name, “JESUS”, has power! This authority, gives our words power.

The devil no longer has any power or authority of his own, it’s only a bluff, like a bully on the school yard. He has to use YOUR own authority against YOU, by using your own, negative words. If you refuse to allow the devil to talk you out of your healing, then there is not any way that he can cause you not to be healed.

Stand on the Word

God sent His Word to heal you, and His word works! He keeps His word. So (this is important), don’t let lingering symptoms discourage you. Your healing may be instant, but if not, don’t let doubts arise just because you do not see immediate results. It may take time for you to feel completely healed. So what do we do in the mean time?

  1. God’s word is the final authority.
The Word says: that by His stripes you were healed! [1 Peter 2:24], (past tense), (quoted from [Isa 53:4-5], future tense). Receive your healing as already taken place.

2. Refuse doubt and unbelief.
When the devil pokes and jabs you to make you think you are still having
symptoms or when the devil whispers words of doubt and unbelief into your mind, deal with it immediately. Cast them (and the devil), down, rebuke and bind them, in Jesus name, (Mat 16:19) (Mat 18:18), praise God for your healing. Don’t dwell on them, don’t accept his arguments, deception and lies. Anything that is a stumbling block to your faith, is darkness and of the devil. They may come through your own body and mind, family, friends, doctors or even pastors, I do not care where you hear or see them, do not accept them. (Rom 14:1) Receive him that is weak in the faith, but NOT to doubtful disputations.

3. Refuse to believe what you see and feel.
If what you see or feel contradicts the Word, Only believe the Word. What you see and feel are not always real, but may be manifestations of the devil, to cause fear, doubt and unbelief.

4. Meditate God’s Word.
Concentrate on the Word, not on the illness. Immerse yourself in the Word, reading out loud, particularly the healing scriptures. Even listen to tapes of the word as much as possible.
Do you need faith? (Rom 10:17) Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Fill yourself through the eyes and ears with the Word of God until it fills you up, and overflows out of your mouth. This will release faith, and faith releases grace and healing. (Luke 6:45) …for, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

5. Do Not Fear!
What did Jesus repeatedly say? “Fear not!”, “Do not fear!”, (Luke 8:50). What do the angels say, every time they appear? “Fear not!”. If you ask for Gods’ protection, He will place a hedge about you. But, fear is a gateway in that hedge, that allows the devil to get to you. This is because ‘fear’ is the devils counterfeit of faith and is part of darkness. Light, (faith), cannot coexist with darkness, (fear). The devil will use every trick, lie, and deception, to cause you to fear and to open the gate. He is ever watchful of that gate. Therefore, keep it closed and locked, by consistently, renewing and increasing your faith!
(Rom 8:15) …you have not received the spirit of bondage, again to fear…
(1 John 4:18) …perfect love casts out fear…

6. Praise God for your healing.
Praising God for your healing, before you see a manifestation, is the highest form of faith. (This IS the shield of faith!) And afterwards, thank God every day that you are healed.

7. Do Not Waiver!  (James 1:6). James said that the person who waivers in his faith should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. (1 Tim 6:12) …fight the good fight of faith…
{Eph 6:12-) …For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness.
(Eph. 6:13) Therefore put on the whole armor of God and stand your ground. And having done all to stand… STAND!
In this context: Salvation. Righteousness, Truth and The preparation of the Gospel will provide you with protection; The Word of God, (“It is written: …”), is to offensively rebuke the devil, (your sword).; and Faith is to defend against the manifestations of the devil. Once the manifestation has been rebuked, and then it ‘seems’ to return, begin to praise God. (Father, I praise You, and thank You, that I no longer have to believe what I see or feel.) This kind of Praise is your defense, (your shield), and seems to be even more effective against darkness, than using your sword.

8. Speak only the positive!
Speak only words that are in agreement with God’s will for your healing. You have to BELIEVE you are healed, and it is difficult if you are constantly talking about your sickness. (If Jesus bore your sickness, then your sickness is gone! What is on you now, does not belong to you! Do not lay claim to it! Remember, your words have power to do both good and evil! The devil uses your negative words against you! That sickness belongs to the devil!.) Therefore, every day let God, the devil, and your body know , by what you SAY, that you believe that you have received your healing, (Mark 11:23). What you SAY is important!
(Mat 12:36) In the day of judgment, men shall give account of EVERY idle word they have spoken!

If you are not sure how to pray for healing, you might recite or pray something like the following:

“Heavenly Father,
I thank You for Your Word that says that by the stripes of Jesus I am healed. I choose to believe that Your healing power went to work in my body the very instant that I believed Your Word.
Jesus Christ is Lord over my life – spirit, soul and body. I have received the power of God to make me sound, whole, delivered, saved and healed.

Sickness, disease, pain,
I resist you in the Name of Jesus. You are not the will of God.
I enforce the Word of God on you. I will not tolerate you in my life.
My days of sickness and disease are over!
Jesus bore my sickness, weakness and pain, and I am forever free!

Father,
thank You for watching over Your Word to perform it in my behalf. I thank You and praise You in Jesus’ Name!
