The journey of the resurrection did not end on Easter Sunday

THE JOURNEY OF THE RESURRECTION DID NOT END ON EASTER SUNDAY

WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES

According to scripture Jesus fellowship and gave his chosen followers final instructions as he promised. Remember, he said in three days he would return, keeping his promise.  Easter day is a time of celebration, but do we continue the celebration according to the pattern of Jesus, do we strive to follow in his foot-steps by observing how he shared final acts of love until he returns.

Jesus didn’t leave the same day he resurrected; after his death, he presented himself alive to his disciples in many different settings over a period of forty days. He talked to them face-to-face about things concerning the kingdom of God. So, the journey is not ended with Easter Sunday,we are given hope and encouragement to continue the same mission required of his disciples and other followers.

As they sat and talked he told them to “wait” for the promise, the Holy Spirit and when it comes they would be filled with power to accomplish even greater things. These were his last words. As they watched, he was taken up and disappeared in the clouds. Standing there gazing into the sky two men appeared–in white robes, they asked “why do you stand there looking up at an empty sky? This very Jesus who was taken up from among you to heaven will come as certainly–and mysterious –as he left.” (Acts 1:1-14)

Christians every-where who’ve taken time to study, learn and listen, are quiet familiar with what occurred following Jesus’ ascent to the Father. The point is that as we study we come to the knowledge and understanding that Jesus didn’t leave the same day he resurrected. There was a promise to fulfill and that promise would come to be known as the “Upper Room Experience.” The disciples and women who had been close followers of Jesus agreed that they were in this for good, completely in prayer, united, all on one accord.

The “Upper Room Experience” occurred while every-one had gathered in prayer in one place. Scripture describes it as such; without warning there was a sound like a strong wind, a gale force–no one could tell where it came from. Stop and think for a moment, when-ever you experience presence of wind, I’ll say on a windy day, look around, feel the breeze of the wind as it moves from one point to another, you’re not able to distinguish it’s pattern.  In the “upper room experience, as the force surrounded those gathered, it filled the whole building , then like a wild fire, the Holy Spirit touched each person there and they were so filled (the energy force) that they started speaking in many different languages as the Spirit prompted them.

The promise had arrived with joy, anointing and high praise just as Jesus had promised.

Jesus didn’t leave the same day he resurrected because there were finishing touches to be added and reaffirmation of love to be shared that would seal the final moments of his earthly journey. We continue on in that journey with assurance that he watches over us and has given the Holy Spirit to strengthen and encourage our hearts as we continue to blend his pattern by following his instructions in living. Our journey continues until he comes back to claim his own. Let us all consider the “upper room experience” and we will soon understand that “power” surrounds us at all times.

TIME TO CELEBRATE MAUNDY THURSDAY

Tomorrow we will begin to celebrate Maundy Thursday together.  Maundy Thursday is also called Holy Thursday; it is the beginning of the three day celebration of EASTER the most important time in the year for Christians. This period (‘The Triduum‘) is one big celebration, remembering the last supper, the crucifixion and the death of Jesus, and the Resurrection to new life.

Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles.  It is the day before Good Friday, and it is the lesser known days of the Christian calendar.  On this day, Christians remember the Last Supper. During the meal Jesus took bread and wine and shared them with his disciples.

Christians from around the world will continue to share bread and wine as part of their worship services in their individual local church.  We share this message with you in order to help you prepare for your day of celebration.  When we all join together in these moments of great celebration, it enables us to remember just how much we truly are one in Christ.  He gave His life that we may live, love and share with each other.  Know that on this day, you are truly BLESSED and HIGHLY FAVORED, because GOD said you were.

Let me remind you and encourage you to think globally and work locally, reaching out to your brothers and sisters and giving of yourself that others may live, lifting up our Holy Hands towards heaven in prayer.

Good morning children of God, and indeed what a great morning this really is. For the Lord our God has awaken us and provided us with a brand-new opportunity to lift him up in high praises. For this reason, we ought to lift up holy hands where ever we are and just begin to praise his holy name. For he is worthy to be praised and today’s Devotional Service is designed to concentrate our minds on praising the Lord, after a very long week of being in the secular world.  Now join with me and let us together focus our attention away from the world and upon God and the things of Heaven.

OUR SCRIPTURE READING IS PSALM 136 by Pastor Davis

Today my brothers and sisters, we are a blessed people. We are a free people we can lift up the name of Jesus, praise and worship him without fear of persecution, and when we do not take advantage of this blessed opportunity and shower him with praising and serving him in his holiness, we are cursing our blessing and we are not deserving of the Lords grace that he has showered upon us. Let us at this very moment, not cut off our blessing, but lift up the Lord our God in high praises and Thanksgiving.

Over coming the Evil Spirits that surrounds us

Wednesday Inspirational and Motivational Service

DEEP IN THE FOREST (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

DEEP IN THE FOREST (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Have you ever stopped to observe what was around you?  For most of us we are so busy trying to earn a living to support our families and life style, it makes it very hard for us to see the forest because we are always looking straight ahead into the trees.  Nevertheless, if we ever took the time to observe what was around us, we would then realize that the battlefield is wherever we are.  It does not matter if we are at our homes, school, job, library, concert hall or church, the battlefield will always be where we are.  Satan is and will always be an enemy of God.  His job is to recruit, recruit and recruit, and believe me; he does his job very well.  Satan does not discriminate on the basics of race, creed, color or national origin.  He is out to destroy God’s kingdom, and that means anyone who is a believer of God is a target of Satan.

Now let us here the word of truth how we can over come this great evil that surrounds us by Pastor Davis…

Thank you my brothers and sisters for listening, reading and studying the word of truth with us, and may the Lord our God bless and multiply your blessings many times over as you walk out your purpose doing the will of the Lord…

MONDAY’S WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT

I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].  (Philippians 4:13 AMP)

My dear brothers and sisters, it is my hope and prayer that the Word for this day and week has encouraged you in some small way not to allow the devil to steal your joy and keep you from reaching your destination which the Lord has determined for you.  Make this a day of sharing and caring and being kind by showing that brotherly love and affection towards one another, always with a song and a prayer in your heart.  Thank you for being a part of this ministry and sharing the word of God with those who have ears to hear and a open mind to receive.  May the Lord our God bless you abundantly this week as you walk out your purpose.

GOD IS THE LIGHT OF THE UNIVERSE

As we begin this study of Living in the light as light, we begin with two precepts.  First we begin with light as the substance that illuminates the world.  Second we come into the knowledge and understanding as to whom and what this substance that illuminates the world is.  In this study we will use pictures and video clips to help us take you into a deeper and more profound understanding of who God is, who we are and who we are in God.  So as you explore this subject “GOD AS THE LIGHT OF THE UNIVERSE”  pause and meditate on what is being conceived in your mind. Now allow your mind to take you deep into the mind of God as He created you in His image to be a reflector of this light.  Click on this video clip and let us begin our studies.Let me give you a working definition of the word light; it is something that makes things visible are affords illuminations.  In Physics it is also called, luminous energy, radiant energy.electromagnetic radiation to which the organs of sight react, ranging in wavelength from about 400 to 700 nm and propagated at a speed of 186,282 mi./sec (299,972 km/sec), considered variously as a wave, corpuscular, or quantum phenomenon.

Please be encouraged to click on the link below for a complete detail study of this subject matter and leave your comments. Thank you and may the Lord bless you abundantly.

LET US PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER AND SHOUT FOR JOY JESUS IS RISEN (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

LET US PRAY:  Most Holy and all wise God our Heavenly Father, it is in the name of Jesus that we humbly enter into your presence this morning and seek your blessings over this service and the lives of all your children who have come in to worship you this day.  Father, open the eyes of those that are blind from spiritual insight and the ears of those who have not heard the truth of your word that they may receive a divine blessing this day. May the truth of what is said and done here in this service today reach out into all corners of the world and the lost souls in Jesus Christ will be prompted to change their ways and except the divine blessing of eternal life being offered up to them this day.  Let your will be done this day in the name of Jesus, who said if I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me.  In Jesus name we pray, AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!

OUR PRAISE SERVICE:

Because of the many different time zones that are taking in the service from all over the world, which includes over 175 different countries, we are now presenting our praise service a day earlier to meet the needs of those that are in time zones that are more than eight hours ahead of us here.  This portion of our service will now be listed as: “SATURDAY/SUNDAY DEVOTIONAL PRAISE SERVICE!”  You can get it simply by clicking on this link:
