LET US PRAY AND CONSIDER LIFE

LET US PRAY AND CONSIDER LIFE

WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES

A Proverb 31 woman is a Woman of Prayer

A Proverb 31 woman is a Woman of Prayer

Today is the first day of the rest of your life, so why not pause your busy body and mind, you’re going and coming; go into your prayer closet and pour your heart out before God as you consider your life and where you are in it this day.  God is in the prayer answering busy and He wants to answer your prayers and show you how you can live a joyful, peaceful, and prosper in all you do.

Let’s consider life and how we may see it.

Every individual is entitled to their own opinion and or belief; no matter what, we all believe in something or someone. The Holy Bible, the written Word of God is studied and shared throughout the world. In it you find instructions for living life filled with hopes and dreams for all humanity, as well as wisdom teachings.

Let’s consider life:

When we take time to explore scripture, pray first and ask for revelation and understanding; you’ll find that when you do so in a quiet place the Word opens up and you’re able to grasp the true meaning of how life is a blessing from God, a blessing to be enjoyed and shared.  Remember Jesus’ teaching about the value and importance of love for each other. Once we are able to grasp the true definition of how that love operates we come into a deeper understanding about life.

Let’s consider life:

The book of Ecclesiastes provides us with a glimpse into the reality of this earthly journey. Once you’ve immerse yourself into the reading you’ll soon gain an understanding of our delicate nature. We are encouraged to make the most of what God gives; Life.  Advice such as, take care of yourself, have a good time and make the most of  whatever life you are privileged to share. We should make the most of what God gives, both the bounty and the capacity to enjoy it, accepting what’s given and delighting in the work. It is “God’s” gift in the present, the now. It’s useless to brood over how long we might live. Jesus says he came so that we might have life, an abundant life. When we consider life, are we ourselves restricting the flow of God’s blessings designed especially for each one of us in due season?  We work to feed our appetites; meanwhile our souls go hungry.

Let’s consider life:

We are reminded in scripture; don’t fret or worry; instead pray–let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayer, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life (Philippians 4:5-7 MGS).

So when we consider life and become familiar with the process of how faith works we are able to experience growth in all areas of our lives, because we have a true friend in Jesus who promised to meet all our needs. He even lets us know how to approach the process, “Ask, and it shall be given; seek and you shall find; knock and the door will open for you”(Matthew 7:7 KJV). Unlock your door, open wide and receive the promise  by opening the Word of God and applying the teachings found there as you journey and live in your purpose. Let’s consider life and become a part of the pattern laid out by our Master Jesus.

WE ARE MARVELOUSLY MADE

WE ARE MARVELOUSLY MADE

FORMED BY THE MOST AWESOME GOD IN OUR MOTHER’S WOMB

CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

“Oh yes, glory Halleluiah, thank you Heavenly Father; you shaped me first inside, then out; YOU FORMED ME IN MY MOTHER’S WOMB. I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am MARVELOUSLY MADE! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; you know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, the days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.” Psalm 139:13-14 (MSG)

All that I am and all that I will ever be, God is. God created me in his own image, and likeness. Everything about me God knew before I was even formed in my mother’s womb. I know, without a shadow of doubt, that I am MARVELOUSLY MADE.

Now when we look in our Bibles, we see a picture of just how God begin the process in Genesis chapter 1 verse 2. In the (a) verse the Bible says this “let us make man in our own image, according to our likeness.” This is a very important statement, because God spoke with His team before we were created in our mother’s womb, how he would design His most important creature, and then bring them into the physical realm of life.  How awesome, a God this is, that we now serve.

When I think about how MARVELOUSLY MADE you and I really are, I see a picture of a newborn baby, in my mind’s eye. This baby is in his mother’s womb. In a speck of watery material smaller than that over the dot of this i, all the future characteristics of this child are programmed, the color of his skin, eyes and hair, the shape of his facial features, the natural abilities he will have. All that the child will be physically and mentally is contained the in germ form in that fertilized egg. From it will develop: …60 trillion cells, 100,000 miles of nerve fiber, 60,000 miles of vessels carrying blood around the body, 250 bones, to say nothing of joints, ligaments and muscles.

Lord I thank you because you formed my inward parts; you covered me while I was still in my mother’s womb. Today Lord I give you the praise, the glory, and the entire honor, because without you there will be no me. All glory belongs to you and you alone, thank you Lord, thank you, thank you, thank you, for you deserve all the praise and glory that my mind can muster up. I am just a small part of this great universe.

Today, as I look towards the heels, from which all my blessings flow, a think of the marvelous creation that you accomplished in my mother’s womb. While I was in my mother’s womb, you formed my inward parts; each one a marvel of divine engineering. I think of my brain, for instance, with its capacity for recording facts, sounds, odors, sites, touch, pain; with its ability to recall; with its power to make computations; with its seemingly endless flair for making decisions and solving problems.

When I think of who I am and what I am in this vast universal, I know without a shadow of doubt that I am a marvelous created man. Sometimes I stop and think of God’s careful planning in the creation of my spirit, my soul, and body. How precious, are his thoughts, his attention to the minutest detail. Each cell almost without exception knows its role in carrying out design a purpose for which the welfare of the body as a whole is so marvelous made.

Now in conclusion, I refer you to Psalms 66 verses one through five, which reads as follow. Make a joyful shout to God, all the Earth! Sing out the honor of his name; make His praise glorious. Say to God, how awesome is your works! Through the greatness of your power, your enemies shall submit themselves to you. All the Earth shall worship you and sing praises to you; they shall sing praises to your name. And see the works of God; he is awesome in his doing towards the sons of man.

Truly I say to you, these powerful words that keep rolling around in my head; what an AWESOME GOD we serve, thank you Heavenly Father for I know that I AM MARVELOUSLY MADE!

RISE AND SHINE PRAISE GOD AND RECEIVE YOUR BLESSING

RISE AND SHINE PRAISE GOD AND RECEIVE YOUR BLESSING

TODAY IS YOUR DAY TO PRAISE GOD!

God’s Marvelous Light (Photo by Pastor Davis)

In the context of the above statement, there are some of you who might have the odyssey to ask the question, why?  Then I will respond in kind with these words, because your life today is a blessing to be cherished, although you might not see it this way.  However, just being alive is a humbling experience that most of us take for granted.  Nothing in this life is guaranteed, even our awaken this day.  Therefore, if we learn to look on our lives as a blessing and the opportunity to praise God for all he has done for us, then we should be able to shout Hallelujah, God is good, and I am going to praise him no matter how difficult things may seem at this moment in my life.  No one are no circumstances are beyond my ability to give God all my praises, for he has truly been good to me.

Now listen to how the Bible teaches us how we should praise God.  It says,“ Hallelujah! You, who serve God, praise God! Just to speak his name is praise! Just to remember God is a blessing— now and tomorrow and always.  From east to west, from dawn to dusk, keep lifting all your praises to God!

God is higher than anything and anyone, outshining everything you can see in the skies. Who can compare with God, our God, so majestically enthroned, Surveying his magnificent heavens and earth?  He picks up the poor from out of the dirt, rescues the wretched who’ve been thrown out with the trash, Seats them among the honored guests, a place of honor among the brightest and best.  He gives childless couples a family, gives them joy as the parents of childrenHallelujah(Psalm 113:1-9 MSG).

Hallelujah! Praise God in his holy house of worshippraise him under the open skies;
Praise him for his acts of powerpraise him for his magnificent greatness; Praise with a blast on the trumpetpraise by strumming soft stringsPraise him with castanets and dancepraise him with banjo and flutePraise him with cymbals and a big bass drumpraise him with fiddles and mandolin. Let every living, breathing creature praise GodHallelujah(Psalm 150 MSG).

Now if you are one of those people who are wondering why your life and the life of your family is in such poor condition, think on this message of praise, and if you are not giving God all your praises day by day then the answer should be quite simple, and the solution to being able to get God to bless your life and lift you up out of poverty is to begin praising God for whatsoever condition you might find yourself in.  Just open your mouth and praise him even if you are facing eviction from your home are apartment, no food to eat, no job to go to, your marriage are relationship has fallen apart, you have been stricken with a crippling decease, you ought to look towards heaven and say, thank you Jesus for this opportunity to praise you, because I know that the conditions that I find myself in today, shall be no more.  Thank you for allowing me to experience your marvelous light of this day.  From this moment forward, I am going to praise you, HALLELUJAH!

MY MAXIMIZE PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY:

Today, heavenly father, I lift you up with all praises and thanksgiving as I give you all the glory for all that you have done in my life and the lives of the people that you have allowed the words of this ministry to touch throughout the world.  For you are God and there is no other greater than you. I thank you Father for the supernatural power that is working in the lives of your children throughout the world. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!  My brothers and sisters, I minister to you from a position of peace, power, purpose and prosperity.  I reamin your brother in CHRIST, PASTOR DAVIS/MASTER TEACHER!

TODAY YOU ARE TRULY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED

TODAY YOU ARE TRULY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED

The Beautiful Trees of Nature (Photo by Pastor Davis)

Truly I say to you this day, in all that you do, lift up your eyes towards heaven and learn to thank God, honor God and to praise God daily, and watch Him fill you with knowledge and power, as He lifts you out of darkness and into His Marvelous light with the understanding that, “TODAY YOU ARE TRULY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED,” and you will begin to experience his blessing and His anointing favor over your entire life.

Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! (Psalms 150 ESV)

How is this possible, because the Bible speaks clearly and says this, “Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments?  His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.  Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous. It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice. For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever.

He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries. He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever his horn is exalted in honor. The wicked man sees it and is angry; he gnashes his teeth and melts away; the desire of the wicked will perish! (Psalms 112 ESV)

Yes my friends, when you awaken this morning, you were truly blessed and highly favored.  For God allowed you to open your eyes and absolve all the beauty and grace that your mind could comprehend.  Nothing was off limits to you.  Whatever choice you made this day was yours and yours alone. For the Bible clearly tells us, “choose this day who you will serve.” But for me and my family, I choose to serve and follow Jesus.

You must taste the happiness, and know by personal experience the blessedness of having Jesus in your heart.  Then His Spirit of holiness and humility, of love and self-sacrifice, and of courage and power will become as natural as your own spirit.

Your life this day is a blessing to God, to your family, to your friends, to your community, to your church and all those that God has placed in your pathway.  You are the head and not the tail, your life is flowing like a mighty river as its waters flow towards the sea, you are blossoming and becoming more beautiful, loving and kind heart, like the most beautiful roses that blossoms and spreads its beauty and aromas for the world to partake off.  Your family, friends and co-workers see you in a brand new light. You have tasted the spirit of freedom, and the Holy Spirit is now dwelling and stirring deep within your soul. Your true nature and limitless spirit now sours high above the clouds like a giant eagle when he has mastered the freedom of flight.  Now you know without a shadow of doubt that it was no one but God that shook you, awaken you, opened your eyes, lifted you out of that bed, and spoke these words to you in a crystal clear voice as He said, TODAY YOU ARE TRULY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED!”

HOW YOU CAN ENJOY ETERNAL LIFE

HOW YOU CAN ENJOY ETERNAL LIFE

THE HEART OF THE CROSS IS KING JESUS HE DIED UPON THE CROSS THAT WE MAY HAVE ETERNAL LIFE (Photo by Pastor Davis)

THE HEART OF THE CROSS IS KING JESUS HE DIED UPON THE CROSS THAT WE MAY HAVE ETERNAL LIFE (Photo by Pastor Davis)

The word “eternal” means without beginning and without end, denoting a continual existence including past, present, and future. As applied to human existence, the Bible indicates that the spirit or soul is indestructible and eventually returns to God who gave it (Eccl. 12:7). This thought is expressed by Paul who attests to God’s overall plan whereby God is “all in all” (I Cor. 15:24-28). Thus, one might well say that eternal life includes the present, or “Today is the first day of the rest of your eternal life.”

Just as there are rewards for followers of Christ, there are judgments of the works of both believers and nonbelievers. Jesus said that all authority to judge the living and the dead is his (John 5:22;17:2; Acts 10:42;I Peter 4:5). In a sense, failure to receive blessings because of failure to ask, asking wrongly, or continued anxiety and fear by not heeding the teachings of the Sermon on the Mount are all indicative of a present judgment. As the proverbs say, “The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion” (Prov. 28:1) and “the way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble” (Prov. 4:16). As we have seen, Jesus assured his listeners that a follower of his and a doer of his words is assured of having his or her needs met and eternal life, including the glories of the resurrection-life (Mk. 10:28-30).

The New Testament sets out a concept of a gradation of regard for believers based upon their Christian good works (Matt. 16:27), their works being tested as by fire (I Cor. 3:13-15). In this respect, the epistles frequently warn believers against backsliding and the loss of reward.  [Note the six warnings in the book of Hebrews 3:7-13;4:1-11; 5:11-14; 6:1-9; 10:26-39; 12; also II Peter 2:20-22] A righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward (Matt. 10:41), and one who shows compassion in Jesus’name will not lose his or her reward (Matt. 10:42;Mk. 9:41). Those who reject the Father and the Son will be judged, and punishment will be meted out for the wrongs which they have committed (Col. 3:25). They are as “cast into outer darkness where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matt. 22:13;24:51; 25:30).   Those who seek after the plaudits of men have their reward (Matt. 6:2). One should enter in by the “narrow gate” to life, for “broad is the way which leads to destruction” (Matt. 7:13-14). Therefore, one should not lay up for himself or herself material treasures on earth, but should lay up treasures in heaven, for “where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Matt. 6:19-21).

God is merciful, and Jesus stands at the door and knocks. If anyone hears his voice and opens the door, he will enter and they shall dine together. But there is a reckoning, and the son of man will separate the “sheep” from the “goats. “Those who have helped the less fortunate and have done it for Jesus shall inherit the kingdom. Those who have not helped others have failed Jesus and will receive punishment (Matt. 25:31-46). The meting out of judgment is portrayed in Revelation depicting God as sitting on a great white throne judging the dead according to their works. The books are opened including the book of life. Anyone whose name is not found in the book of life is subject to punishment. It is decreed that the enemies of God and mankind be cast into the “lake of fire.” These include Satan, the false prophet, and the beast who has opposed God, death, Hades, and “whoever was not found written in the book of life” (Rev. 20:10-15). There is also described a new heaven, a new earth, and a new Jerusalem in which there reside only those who are over comers and those who are “athirst of the fountain.” These are given the water of life freely (Rev. 21:1-27). “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last” (Rev. 22:12-13).

WHO PREPARED THE PASSOVER MEAL IN THE UPPER ROOM?

WHO PREPARED THE PASSOVER MEAL IN THE UPPER ROOM?

 (Mark 14:12-17 Amplified Bible

Today is Maundy Thursday and it commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles.  It is the day before Good Friday, and it is the lesser known days of the Christian calendar.  On this day, Christians remember the Last Supper. During the meal Jesus took bread and wine and shared them with his disciples.

DINNER IN THE UPPER ROOM (Photo by PASTOR DAVIS/MASTER TEACHER)

However, In order for the Passover meal, [THE LAST SUPPER] to be ready when Jesus and HIS DISCIPLES arrived and ready to be served and eaten, someone had to have knowledge of the this moment and gotten things ready for an event that not one of the disciples knew of.  Who was that someone and how did they get the word to get things ready for this historical event?  Here is an opportunity for each of you as Bible Scholars to put on your thinking hats, dig deep into the scriptures and come up with some concrete answers.  We encourage each of you to share your thoughts and research with all of us here on this WORLD STAGE.

Now listen to how Jesus set the stage for this historical moment to unfold in a moment and time that the world will never forget.  It begins, 12On the first day [of the Feast] of Unleavened Bread, when [as was customary] they killed the Passover lamb, [Jesus'] disciples said to Him, Where do You wish us to go [and] prepare the Passover [supper] for You to eat?  13And He sent two of His disciples and said to them, Go into the city, and a man carrying an [earthen] jar or pitcher of water will meet you; follow him.  In this case Jesus sent Peter and John (Luke 22:8).   14And whatever [house] he enters, say to the master of the house, The Teacher says: Where is My guest room, where I may eat the Passover [supper] with My disciples?  15And he will [himself] show you a large upper room, furnished [with carpets and with dining couches properly spread] and ready; there prepare for us.  In this case we do not know whether Jesus had supernatural knowledge in this instance or if he had made arrangements in advance is unclear (as in the incident with his Triumphal Entry.  It seems that in this instance this room had been reserved previously and kept secret, none of the disciples knew where they would eat this meal.

However, Jesus already knew that Judas would be looking for an opportunity to betray him without crowds around, so Jesus may have made these arrangements and kept them secret.

16Then the disciples set out and came to the city and found [everything] just as He had told them; and they prepared the Passover.  The house where the Passover meal was to be eaten probably was one of Jesus followers, because he knew exactly who the Teacher was and probably knew the disciples by sight.  Tradition says this may have been Mark’s home so this would have been Mark’s father.  Many homes had upstairs rooms large enough to accommodate Jesus and his twelve disciples.  As before, when two disciples went to get the donkey for Jesus to ride into Jerusalem, these two disciples found everything just as Jesus had said.  The preparations for the Passover would have included setting the table, buying and roasting the Passover lamb, making the unleavened bread, sauces, and other ceremonial food and drink that were a traditional part of every Passover meal.

Now that all the special ingredients have been gather into one place, the killing and roasting of the lamb is complete, who do you think it was that prepared this historical meal, and how would they know the time in which to have everything ready?  Now click on this video clip and let us pray together!

We encourage you to think deeply upon this matter and share your thoughts in our comment section.  We minister to you on this MAUNDY THURSDAY from a position of PEACE, POWER, PURPOSE and PROSPERITY.  I remain your brother in JESUS CHRIST, PASTOR DAVIS/MASTER TEACHER!

INTRODUCTION TO THE LORD’S SUPPER

WRITTEN BY HAROLD RUSSWURM

Much has been written concerning the Lord’s Supper and its observation. It is suggested that you carefully examine all that is contained in this writing and then study the Bible to get a complete study of what inspired writers had to say about the Lord’s Supper. This writing will address such matters as the institution of the supper by our Lord, the practice of early Christians, some of the written teachings to local congregations by the writers of the New Testament, and what is expected of those of us participating in the partaking of the Supper. We should remember that the teachings of the Bible must always take place over what man may write or say. God‘s Word is truth and we must follow it to be pleasing to Him. Quotations contained in this booklet are taken from the New American Standard version of the Holy Bible.

INSTITUTION OF THE LORD’S SUPPER

Jesus, nearing his death upon the cross for the sins of all men, saw the necessity to provide a way whereby individual Christians could look back to the cross and remember Him. This was not the first time that some type of remembrance was used to help man recall a past event. After God had destroyed the world by water, He told Noah that He would make a covenant with man to never again destroy the world by water. To keep this firmly in the mind of man, God placed a rainbow in the sky and each time that man looked and saw the rainbow he would be reminded that God had made a promise to man. Today, many of us vividly call to our mind the occasion of the flood when we see a rainbow in the sky. You can read fully about this event in Genesis chapter 9 beginning with verse 8.

Just prior to the departure of the children of Israel from Egypt, God had sent a plague to take the life of every first born unless a lamb had been killed and eaten, then a portion of the blood placed upon the two side posts and the upper post of the door in which the lamb had been eaten (Exodus 12:3-14). The lives of the children of those who fully obeyed the Lord’s command were spared, as were the first born of the animals. Moses had been very careful in his instructions to the children of Israel. As a result, all those that faithfully followed his instructions did not see death come to their households. Many did lose their children and animals since theyrefused to obey God. As the people of that day looked upon the blood that had been placed on the post, they recalled that the Lord had passed over the house since they had obeyed Him. This became a remembrance to them as to how God had been with them.

Very specific instructions were given to the priests under the law of Moses in the offering of sacrifices as to how each sacrifice was to be offered and the purpose for which it was being offered. God was not pleased unless the priest fully obeyed His instructions. Read about Nadab and Abihu and what happened to them for offering strange fire upon the alter (Lev 10:1,2).

A reading of the entire book of Leviticus gives a good background on the expectations of the priest under the law of Moses. As the lamb without spot or blemish was the sacrifice under the Old Law, Jesus Christ become sour sacrifice under the New Covenant which is the law under which we live today. Jesus was totally aware of all that had happened in times past since He was “from the beginning” (John 1: 1) and had known that He would eventually give His life for the sins of man. With His understanding, He instituted the Lord’s Supper as something that would be helpful to man in remembrance of His cross, suffering and death, as well as His resurrection. See Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke 22:14- 23 and I Corinthians 11:23-29.

In the three gospel accounts, we find that Jesus took bread, blessed it, broke it and gave it to the disciples and told them to “take and eat; this is My body.” Jesus blessed or prayed over the bread before it was broken. This was symbolic of His body as being whole and unblemished as it was offered as a sacrifice upon the cross. It was a perfect sacrifice and would provide many benefits for His disciples of that day and future generations as well as beneficial to all of those that had been followers in times past.

Today we are to express to our Father, through His Son, our thanks for the giving of His Son upon the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, prior to breaking the bread. This should help us to remember the perfect sacrifice of Christ’s body as it was offered upon the cross. As He underwent great suffering even so we today must be willing to suffer as His disciples. The breaking of the bread will strengthen us to be willing and prepared to undergo the suffering that may come into our lives as we live for Him. Jesus also took the cup and after having given thanks, gave it to His disciples and told them to drink of it, stating that it was to be done in remembrance of Him.

Some today misunderstand the matter of “the cup.” In eating the bread, we do not eat the dish on which it is served and in drinking the cup we do not drink the container. We drink the contents of the cup. It is the contents that Christ is setting forth as the memorial of His blood and not the container. Jesus tells the disciples on this occasion that His blood is given for the forgiveness of sins. He tells them that He will not participate with them in this Supper until He “drinks it new with you in My Father’s Kingdom.”

This signifies that today as we partake of the bread and drink of the fruit of the vine, we are communing with the Lord. In order for us to receive the benefits, we must be in His Kingdom.

EARLY CHRISTIANS PARTAKE OF THE LORD’S SUPPER

“And on the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to depart the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight” (Acts 20:7). From this reading, we find that Paul, along with other followers of Jesus, met together upon the first day (Sunday) of the week. Some would try and confuse us as to the day we are to meet, but Paul had no doubt about the meeting day and since he was inspired of God and full of the Spirit let’s look to him as to when we are to come together.

It would appear that since the text does not deal with Paul having to teach them about the Lord’s Supper, that they were already aware of when to observe it from previous teaching since they had come together for this purpose. Each week has a first day, and this being the case, we are to partake of this memorial upon the first day of every week. There are no other teachings in the Scriptures that set out any other day or regularity other than upon the first day.

PAUL’S TEACHING TO THE CORINTHIANS

In I Corinthians 11, we find that even during the first century the Christians were misusing the Lord’s Supper; confusing it with a common meal. Paul rather severely admonishes them in this regard. In fact, in verse 20, he tells them that “when you meet together, it is not to eat of the Lord’s Supper.” Some were eating and leaving others hungry and others were becoming drunk. This was clearly a misuse of the Lord’s Supper according to the inspired Apostle Paul. Therefore, he issues a strong statement condemning this practice, “What! Do you not have houses in which to eat and drink? Or do you despise the church of God, and shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I will not praise you” (I Corinthians 11:22).

After Paul has pointed out their unacceptable practice of using the Lord’s Supper, he then proceeded in the next verses of this chapter to teach them the proper way to observe this memorial supper. First of all, he tells them that he received of the Lord what he has delivered to them. This is so they might not have any question as to where this practice had its origin. This was from the Lord. Here again, Paul relates the institution of the Supper by the Lord. He tells them that after having given thanks, He broke the bread and told them to partake of the bread and eat it in remembrance of Him. Likewise, He took the cup in the same manner, and then told them that as often as they drank of it they were to do this in remembrance of Him. Then in verse 26, He tells them that “as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.” To proclaim is to make known publicly. Therefore, we show forth the Lord’s death as we partake of the Lord’s Supper upon the first day of the week. This is not for physical fulfillment but is for spiritual nourishment. How long are we to proclaim the Lord’s death? Paul tells us that it is “until He comes.” Since He has already come one time, this refers to His second coming.

Paul goes on to tell them that it is possible to partake in an unworthy manner and therefore, be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. How would one be found guilty of the body and blood of the Lord? By eating and drinking in an unworthy manner. Examination is to be made by each of us each time we partake of this memorial. We are to guard our thoughts so as to partake of these representative emblems remembering Jesus and His death upon the cross for our sin. Paul in his writing states that many are weak and sickly in this matter, therefore, we today need to give heed so that we will not become such when we partake of the Lord’s Supper.

CHRIST vs. SATAN

After having spent some time in looking at the suffering of Christ and all that He has done for us, we should now ask ourselves what has Satan done for us? First of all, he lied to the first humans, Adam and Eve, in the garden and caused them to be driven from a perfect place to live. He has caused misery, suffering, pain, anguish, heartbreak, and all such bad things to happen to men throughout history. He continues today to try and place stumbling blocks in our pathway to cause us to leave the Way of the Lord. His appeal is based upon lies about happiness, joy, peace and all good things that man is seeking. God, Christ and the Holy Spirit base their appeal to us upon a great love that has been and continues to be manifested toward us daily. In view of the contrast should we not choose to remember Jesus and follow Him?

SOME PRACTICAL SUGGESTIONS

We should guard our minds and the thoughts that enter them in such a way as to allow us to remember Jesus as we partake of the Lord’s Supper. We may have difficulty in controlling what thoughts enter our minds but we can readily control what remains in our meditations.

Either memorize the scriptures pertaining to the observation of the Lord’s Supper and use this as a time to reflect upon them or open your Bible and read from these sections of scripture. Many people have find this to be very beneficial in helping to remember Jesus.

Many very good songs have been written that can be used to help us properly reflect as we observe this feast by thinking about the words and their meanings.

In I Corinthians 10:16, we find that the cup is a sharing in the blood of Christ. From this we find that we do share with Christ as we partake of His Supper. This gives us sufficient motive to be willing to suffer physically or mentally and we signify this each time that we engage in the observation of this supper. How more readily could you and I draw nearer to Jesus than to be given a memorial in which we can remember His suffering and death upon the cross for us. It was out of love for each of us that Jesus was willing to be used as the perfect sacrifice upon the cross, therefore, we today need to remember Him and in so doing we will be drawn to Him. Love is the strongest motive that is possessed by man and to be Christ-like, we are to love. No motive will move us to obedience, service, or worship of God like love. Love is a lasting motivation and will bind us together with those of like faith.

CONCLUSION:

It is our hope and prayer that this short booklet will be of help to some in their weekly observance of partaking of the Lord’s Supper. If this is accomplished then this has been time well spent. Since this study is not presented in great detail, it will be necessary for you to go to the Word of God and meditate upon it to become fully aware of His teachings.

God’s Word will stand the test of time as it will be used to judge man in the last day. The Bible is true and following it will prepare us to meet our Savior.

Paul felt strongly enough to correct those at Corinth when they had begun to observe the Lord’s Supper in an improper manner. We must be careful today that we properly participate in this communion service. The partaking is for each individual Christian. Spiritual strength will be gained by proper observation of the Lord’s Supper. This strength can be used to help us live daily for Jesus. Therefore, we should look forward to communing with the Lord in His Supper on each first day of the week.

SIMON OF CYRENE WAS THE BLACK HANDS THAT HELP TO CARRY THE CROSS

SIMON OF CYRENE WAS THE BLACK HANDS THAT HELP TO CARRY THE CROSS

Simon of Cyrene the black hands that helped carry the cross (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Simon of Cyrene the black hands that helped carry the cross (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

And when they had [finished] making sport of Him, they took the purple [robe] off Him and put His own clothes on Him. And they led Him out [of the city] to crucify Him.

And they forced a passerby, Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, who was coming in from the field (country), to carry His cross.

And they led Him to Golgotha [in Latin: Calvary], meaning The Place of a Skull.  (Mark 15:20-22 AMP).

In verse 21, Mark tells us that Simon of Cyrene, was coming into the city from the countryside into the city of Jerusalem, but the Lord was traveling out of the city.  These two men were traveling in opposite directions.  Simon was coming in and the Lord was going out being led by the Roman Soldiers and a large crowd of haters.  Simon suddenly found himself turned around at the instructions of the Centurion and finds his life walking in exactly the opposite direction from where he was first headed.  Meeting Christ at this point and being forced to place his hands on the cross and carry it would be a life changing experience for him.

Now some of you might ask, “why would he ever mention Simon of Cyrene as the Black Hands on the cross, and how would he even know that Simon of Cyrene was a Black Man?  For those of you who are truth seekers, these would be legitimate questions to ask.  For me as a Minister of the Gospel, called and ordained to come boldly before the throne of grace, and speak truth to power, convince, rebuke, exhort and teach, it is my job to empower you with knowledge in order that you may know the truth and the truth will truly set you free.  (John 8:32)

For me to state here with absolute certain that Simon of Cyrene was a Black Man is impossible.  This is a question that has been debated by Scholars worldwide for hundreds of years.  However, I should start by pointing out it is difficult to determine with accuracy black men and women in the Bible because the Bible is color-neutral. There is never any reference to race or racial features. The main distinction throughout the Bible is between those that serve God and those that do not, whether as individuals or as nations. It is not definite that everyone from Ethiopia or Cyrene was black, but certainly you could reasonably assume that it was a good possibility. So this study will have to be considered reasonable speculation.

We know very little about Simon. We see from this Mark’s writing that he had come from the country to Jerusalem on this occasion, perhaps on business. He must have been a strong man. I don’t think the soldiers would have picked a weakling. God had appointed him to be there, not to help Jesus with the cross, but to encounter the one who was to be crucified for his sins. Except for Mark’s obscure reference to Rufus and Alexander we would have no more information about Simon.

What we do know about Simon called Niger is his name.  Simon is a Jewish name and Niger comes from the Latin word for “black”.  It’s safe to say he was Jewish and may have been called “Black” simply because of his looks.

Research shows that Simon of Cyrene was from a country in ancient northern Africa (bordering Egypt) called Libya. According to Spirit of English Magazine Vol. 10, pg. 286; in ancient times Libya contained two countries Cyrenaica and Marmarica.  Wikipedia [the on line encyclopedia], shares that Libya was until recent times, the home of one the oldest Jewish communities in the world, dating back to at least 300 BC. In the 1st century, the Jewish historian for the Roman Empire, Josephus Flavius, noted 500,000 Jews lived in Libya. By today’s standards, people from North Africa may or may not be classified as Black. The New Testament, let’s us in on the fact that Joseph, Mary and Jesus spent time in Egypt, This raises an equally intriguing question as to whether or not Simon’s friend, Joseph of Marmarica (a.k.a. Joseph of Marmore, Joseph of Arimathea, brother of Jesus’ grandmother) from the neighboring district of Marmonica/Marmarica, should also be classified as African or Black. –Satchell Intell.

We find here in (Matthew 27:32 NKJV).  Simon of Cyrene was from Ethiopia, and this text and the identity of this man clearly reminds us all of us today that all cultures were represented at Calvary and in the church.  This further reminds us that wise men of all ages would be honored to be allowed to perform the task that was conferred upon Simon of Cyrene, the Ethiopia from northwestern Africa.  Whether it was voluntary or by force, in any case, black hands were extended to help the Savior bear His cross.  The Ethiopian eunuch from Africa (Acts 8:26) was the first Gentile convert mentioned by name in the Book of Acts.  History reports that he returned to Ethiopia to found the Abyssinian Christian Church, which exists until this day.

May God’s saving grace, be with each one of you whose hands, regardless of their color, feel obligated to pick-up your cross and carry it this day be blessed with love, peace and power.  Only because Jesus loved all of us and died for our sins do we have the opportunity to celebrate his life, death and resurrection on this EASTER weekend.  I remain your brother in Jesus Christ, Pastor Davis/Master Teacher!

IS THERE LIFE FOR MANKIND AFTER DEATH PART 2

IS THERE LIFE FOR MANKIND AFTER DEATH THE NEXT LESSON

THE TOMB COULD NOT CONTAIN HIM (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

THE TOMB COULD NOT CONTAIN HIM (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

In our last lesson we concluded with this last paragraph, “Our hope of deliverance from sin in this world (see Romans 6:4, 11, 12) and the reality of life in the next (1 Corinthians 15:17-23) are dependent upon the resurrection of Jesus. The incarnation of God’s Son, His sinless life and vicarious death, would have availed nothing if He had been kept a prisoner of death. The saints of all ages would remain in their graves, sealed forever, if Christ had not broken the power of death and come forth to immortal life. And Christians would have been “false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised” (1 Corinthians 15:15)!”

Do we understand what this mean for our new life?  Now I encourage you to pause your reading right here.  Go back and read this paragraph again, meditate on it, then pick up your Bible, read, study and meditate on these three scriptures before plowing deeper into this lesson.  We want you to fully understand and comprehend the depth and scope of these words and the fact that our new life depends totally on the resurrection of Jesus.

Now that you have read, studied and meditated on these scriptures, let’s move on and see how we are going to fit into OUR NEW SPIRITUAL BODY.  This should excite you greatly; it sends chills up my spine just to think how God has seen everything in the future and made plans for our eternal life cycle.

The Bible provides us with much hope for a future life, and Paul shares that hope with us, that there is truly LIFE AFTER DEATH in (2 Corinthians 5:1-2).  In these two beautiful verses we find these very important words: “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven.”

In the fifteenth chapter of I Corinthians, Paul again preaches to those who have no faith in the LIFE AFTER DEATH. This wonderful chapter is used by the majority of MINISTERS to bring comfort and faith to those who have been bereaved by the loss of their loved ones. “It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.”  This should get you excited and make you want to shout and thank God for all he has done to plan for your continuation of LIFE AFTER DEATH.  If you truly believe in the word of God, there should be no doubt whatsoever in your mind about what God can and will do.

However, we discover in the days of old, man had no such hope for a LIFE AFTER DEATH.    During the old dispensation and all through the Old Testament, to him the grave ended all. We find such discouragement when we read the ninth chapter of Ecclesiastes, the fifth verse, where the statement is made, “For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.”  As we have moved forward into the teachings of Jesus and understanding his DEATH and RESURRECTION, we now know and can rejoice in a future hope of LIFE AFTER DEATH.

Let us pause this lesson right here and pick it up on the other side of midnight.  You must return again and again to truly understand just how greatly the DEATH and RESSURECTION of JESUS CHRIST affects us all in a very profound way.

I encourage you to think deeply on the Scriptures because there you will find the truth of God’s word and what he wants you to know and understand about his son’s LIFE, DEATH and RESSURECTION.  I have ministered to you on this day from a position of PEACE, POWER, PURPOSE and PROSPERITY.  I remain your brother in JESUS CHRIST, PASTOR DAVIS/MASTER TEACHER.

THERE IS ONLY ONE GOSPEL AND JESUS PREACHED IT

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber to be an example of a charismatic religious leader. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

THERE IS ONLY ONE GOSPEL

THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND AND JESUS PREACHED IT

Now let us understand this one truth, and that there is, “ONLY ONE GOSPEL;” Jesus preached it, transmitted it to His disciples, and has committed it to His church.  Paul warned us against ever receiving any other gospel. “Any other” may be either a message of outright error or an argument for a diluted message, devoid of power though nominally Christian.  Judeurges us always to contend for the original, “the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.”  Hold to the full “gospel of the kingdom,” and expect the Lord to confirm that “word” with the signs He promised.

Therefore, after John was put in prison Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand, Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

It is clear to all of us that the early church proclaimed the same message Jesus preached, that is, “the gospel of the kingdom of God.”  Also they experienced the same confirming evidences that were present in His ministry.

You truly must know without a doubt that Jesus‘ministry did not begin until He received His “anointing” as the Messiah, the empowering that came through the descent of the Holy Spirit upon Him.  Though conceived and born by the Spirit’s power, He insisted that John baptize Him, not for repentance, but because He knew the Holy Spirit would come upon Him at that time.  From that moment forward, He is led by the Spirit and moves into the ministry declaring the presence of God’s kingdom and manifesting its miracles, signs, and wonders.

This pathway points each believer to the need for power, if kingdom ministry is to be advanced through us, His church. Like Him, we, too, are “born of the Spirit.” Though obviously, our spiritual birth is not as His biological virgin birth, the point remains.

Spiritual rebirth saves, but spiritual inducement is needed for ministering in kingdom power.  Similarly, our justification in Christ-being declared sinless (2 Cor. 5:21)-does not qualify for kingdom power in ministry.  In His incarnation Jesus’ Person and perfection exceeded ours in every way, yet Jesus still acknowledged the need for His own receiving of the power of the Holy Spirit to pursue His ministry.  What more needs to be said?  Let each of us personally hear His command: “Receive the Holy Spirit!” (John 20:22).

Now let us conclude with this thought, by encouraging you to think deeply on the Kingdom of God and its meaning in your life. Today I minister to you from a position of peace, power, purpose and prosperity. Always encouraging you to think globally and work locally.  I remain your brother in ChristPastor Davis/Master Teacher.

FINDING OUR WAY OUT OF DARKNESS

FINDING OUR WAY OUT OF DARKNESS

WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES

FINDING OUR WAY OUT OF DARKNESS THROUGH THE THICK FOG OF LIFE (PHOTO BY SHIRLEY RHODES)

FINDING OUR WAY OUT OF DARKNESS THROUGH THE THICK FOG OF LIFE (PHOTO BY SHIRLEY RHODES)

Finding Our Way out of Darkness is like entering a maze, at every junction you’re apt to encounter a stumbling block in the path but you know that unless you regroup and keep searching for the exit you’re apt to wander about for a mighty long time unless intervention (someone else) becomes part of the process. The same is with our earthly lives as we are about our journey each moment in time as purposed by God. In order to find our way out of darkness we must follow the process and grab hold of the eternal message and promise of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice that is able to set us free.

THE PROCESS:

Hear the message, believe through faith, and accept the invitation to become a part of the intricate weaving of the pattern, by doing so a world of light opens which is the key to finding your way out of darkness. Jesus has given us the key to Finding Our Way out of Darkness, all we have to do is be willing and obedient to his call and follow his light into life.

Many might ask, “How does the process work, especially when we don’t know the way? How do we gain access to the key for finding our way out of darkness?”

The massager sent by God is chosen:  Hear the message, believe, confess and accept the teachings of the Holy Scriptures. God has a plan for all his children and it is not his desire that any should be left out of all he has to offer. God is all strength for his people, ample refuge for his chosen leaders (Psalms 28:8 MGS).

Finding Our Way out of Darkness requires us to humble ourselves in the presence of God and totally surrender those things that hinder a relationship with him. The scriptures gives us this part of the plan; how to make the approach to become whole.

How can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? How can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? How can they hear if nobody tells them? How is anyone going to tell them unless someone is sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. The word of faith is that; if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart God have raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For the scripture says that whoever believes on him shall not be ashamed, anyone that calls on the Lord shall be saved.

The word of faith is the key given for finding our way out of darkness because the word of faith that saves is near you; as near as the tongue in your mouth; as close as the heart in your chest. The word of God welcomes God to go to work and set things right for us (Romans 10:8-17 KJV/MGS).

Listen to what Isaiah says; “Listen to me, all of you who are serious about right living, look to the rock from which you were cut, and to the hole of the pit from which you were dug.

Revelations flows from me, my decisions light up the world. I’ll bring justice to the people, my salvation will last forever”(Isaiah 51:1-6).

As we journey through this earthly realm let us be reminded that there is hope even when finding Our Way out of Darkness.

Now let remember, that God is light and in Him there is no Darkness.  Let us learn to live in the light, and always let the light that is in us shine through to the outside, so that those we meet daily will see that bright shinning light all around us.  When we are full of light, the devil will flee from us because he loves Darkness and in all he does, he try’s to keep us in Darkness.  Click on this short video clip and experience God’s marvelous light as it shines daily and lights up the Universe.

May God’s peace and blessings be yours to enjoy this day and throughout your life, in Jesus name, AMEN!

GOD’S PROMISE WAS A GIFT FULFILLED

GOD’S PROMISE WAS A GIFT FULFILLED

WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES

GOD'S PROMISE WAS A GIFT FULFILLED THAT WE MIGHT ENTER A LIFE FILLED WITH LIGHT (PHOTO BY SHIRLEY RHODES

GOD’S PROMISE WAS A GIFT FULFILLED THAT WE MIGHT ENTER A LIFE FILLED WITH LIGHT (PHOTO BY SHIRLEY RHODES

God‘s Promise Was a Gift Fulfilled and that promise was the gift of his Son in order that we might enter a life filled with His light. We are given the opportunity to share in fulfillment of God’ promise in which we must learn to depend and trust God and his way, by embracing him and what he does for each of us.

Jesus came into the world and was yet rejected, the scriptures addresses it this way: He came unto his own, and his own received him not (John1:11) But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become the sons  of God, even those who believed on his name (12), he was the Word made flesh, lived among man full of grace and truth(14)(KJV) through this kind act of God,  we  know that God’s Promise Was a Gift Fulfilled.

We are all God’s creation, when some see a person as nothing, God sees that person as something, he sees the possibilities, we only have to dare and trust in him for what he has promised.

When things seem hopeless, do not focus on what seems impossible because with God all things are possible.  Faith is the key to opening up and allowing our minds to grasp the greatness of the One who is able to give us what we need,” the just shall live by faith” (Habakkuk 2:4).

In order to share in what the promise offers we must decide to devote time and energy into getting to know the source, that is done through studying and sharing knowledge and understanding of how it is all purposed to come together in our lives. When we deeply plant the Word of promise in our hearts and focus on how the Holy Spirit (that which Jesus promised would come) works, we set aside time in prayer, believing in faith. Allowing our thoughts to be reminded that God’s Promise Was a Gift Fulfilled; we center ourselves in such a way that when all is complete;  we  come up strong and ready, sure that God will do just what he’s promised.

What we find in life is that if we trust in people we set ourselves up for disappointment by the very one(s) we trust who failed to follow through on what they promised. People are skeptical especially of things or people who seem too good to be true. One major fact is this, people like to have more than one form of evidence in order to believe something that would in the ordinary seem unreal.

When Jesus told his followers it was really him, in the flesh after his resurrection, they didn’t believe him at first; in all actually what they were truly seeing was that, God’s Promise Was a Gift Fulfilled.

When Jesus shared his last meal with his chosen followers after his resurrection, He opened their understanding and instructed them to be his witnesses and to wait for further instructions from God. The Power they were to receive, the Holy Spirit, so that they could be witnesses of the resurrected Savior.

God gave his Word and kept his promise; he sacrificed his only Son to save mankind, God’s Promise Was a Gift Fulfilled. We owe him worship and praise continually.   And in Roman’s 12:1, Paul teaches us that we must be obedient to the word of God, he starts out by saying, “Brothers and sisters, in light of all I have shared with you about God’s mercies, I urge you to offer your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice to God, a sacred offering that brings Him pleasure; this is your reasonable, essential worship.”

GOD CALLED MOSES TO GO AND RESCUSE HIS PEOPLE FROM SLAVERY (PART 5 OF 5)

Strike Ten: Death and the Passover (Exodus 11:1-10)

God said to Moses: “I’m going to hit Pharaoh and Egypt one final time, and then he’ll let you go. When he releases you that will be the end of Egypt for you; he won’t be able to get rid of you fast enough.

“So here’s what you do. Tell the people to ask, each man from his neighbor and each woman from her neighbor, for things made of silver and gold.” God saw to it that the Egyptians liked the people. Also, Moses was greatly admired by the Egyptians, a respected public figure among both Pharaoh’s servants and the people at large.

Then Moses confronted Pharaoh: “God’s Message: ‘At midnight I will go through Egypt and every firstborn child in Egypt will die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sits on his throne, to the firstborn of the slave girl working at her hand mill. Also the firstborn of animals, widespread wailing will erupt all over the country, lament such as has never been and never will be again. But against the Israelites—man, woman, or animal—there won’t be so much as a dog’s bark, so that you’ll know that God makes a clear distinction between Egypt and Israel.’

“Then all these servants of yours will go to their knees, begging me to leave, ‘Leave! You and all the people who follow you!’ And I will most certainly leave.”

Moses, seething with anger, left Pharaoh.

God said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s not going to listen to a thing you say so that the signs of my presence and work are going to multiply in the land of Egypt.”

Moses and Aaron had performed all these signs in Pharaoh’s presence, but God turned Pharaoh more stubborn than ever—yet again he refused to release the Israelites from his land.

God said to Moses and Aaron while still in Egypt, “This month is to be the first month of the year for you. Address the whole community of Israel; tell them that on the tenth of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one lamb to a house. If the family is too small for a lamb, then share it with a close neighbor, depending on the number of persons involved. Be mindful of how much each person will eat. Your lamb must be a healthy male, one year old; you can select it from either the sheep or the goats. Keep it penned until the fourteenth day of this month and then slaughter it—the entire community of Israel will do this—at dusk. Then take some of the blood and smear it on the two doorposts and the lintel of the houses in which you will eat it. You are to eat the meat, roasted in the fire, that night, along with bread, made without yeast, and bitter herbs. Don’t eat any of it raw or boiled in water; make sure it’s roasted—the whole animal, head, legs, and innards. Don’t leave any of it until morning; if there are leftovers, burn them in the fire.

“And here is how you are to eat it: Be fully dressed with your sandals on and your stick in your hand. Eat in a hurry; it’s the Passover to God.

“I will go through the land of Egypt on this night and strike down every firstborn in the land of Egypt, whether human or animal, and bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am God. The blood will serve as a sign on the houses where you live. When I see the blood I will pass over you—no disaster will touch you when I strike the land of Egypt.

“This will be a memorial day for you; you will celebrate it as a festival to God down through the generations, a fixed festival celebration to be observed always. You will eat un-raised bread (matzoth) for seven days: On the first day get rid of all yeast from your houses—anyone who eats anything with yeast from the first day to the seventh day will be cut off from Israel. The first and the seventh days are set aside as holy; do no work on those days. Only what you have to do for meals; each person can do that.

“Keep the Festival of Un-raised Bread! This marks the exact day I brought you out in force from the land of Egypt. Honor the day down through your generations, a fixed festival to be observed always. In the first month, beginning on the fourteenth day at evening until the twenty-first day at evening, you are to eat un-raised bread. For those seven days not a trace of yeast is to be found in your houses. Anyone, whether a visitor or a native of the land, who eats anything raised shall be cut off from the community of Israel. Don’t eat anything raised. Only matzoth.”

Moses assembled all the elders of Israel. He said, “Select a lamb for your families and slaughter the Passover lamb. Take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the bowl of blood and smear it on the lintel and on the two doorposts. No one is to leave the house until morning. God will pass through to strike Egypt down. When he sees the blood on the lintel and the two doorposts, God will pass over the doorway; he won’t let the destroyer enter your house to strike you down with ruin.

“Keep this word. It’s the law for you and your children, forever. When you enter the land which God will give you as he promised, keep doing this. And when your children say to you, ‘Why are we doing this?’ tell them: ‘It’s the Passover-sacrifice to God who passed over the homes of the Israelites in Egypt when he hit Egypt with death but rescued us.’”

The people bowed and worshiped.

The Israelites then went and did what God had commanded Moses and Aaron. They did it all.

THE PASSOVER

At midnight God struck every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sits on his throne, right down to the firstborn of the prisoner locked up in jail, also the firstborn of the animals.

Pharaoh got up that night, he and all his servants and everyone else in Egypt—what wild wailing and lament in Egypt! There wasn’t a house in which someone wasn’t dead.

Pharaoh called in Moses and Aaron that very night and said, “Get out of here and be done with you—you and your Israelites! Go worship God on your own terms. And yes, take your sheep and cattle as you’ve insisted, but go. And bless me.”

The Egyptians couldn’t wait to get rid of them; they pushed them to hurry up, saying, “We’re all as good as dead.”

The people grabbed their bread dough before it had risen, bundled their bread bowls in their cloaks and threw them over their shoulders. The Israelites had already done what Moses had told them; they had asked the Egyptians for silver and gold things and clothing. God saw to it that the Egyptians liked the people and so readily gave them what they asked for. Oh yes! They picked those Egyptians clean.

The Israelites moved on from Rameses to Succoth, about 600,000 on foot, besides their dependents. There was also a crowd of riffraff tagging along, not to mention the large flocks and herds of livestock. They baked un-raised cakes with the bread dough they had brought out of Egypt; it hadn’t raised—they’d been rushed out of Egypt and hadn’t time to fix food for the journey.

This is the final lesson in this series.  Our next lesson will focus our attention on the final days of Jesus life, death and resurrection.  May God bless you as you continue to study His Word and moved into action as you apply your knowledge to help others see the light?  I remain your brother in CHRIST JESUS, PASTOR DAVIS/MASTER TEACHER!

LIVING IN THE LIGHT OF GOD (PHOTO BY SHIRLEY RHODES)

LIVING IN THE LIGHT OF GOD (PHOTO BY SHIRLEY RHODES)

We welcome all of you into our Sunday Morning Praise and Worship Service.  Let us begin by reading from the book of Psalms 150 in obedience to the word of God.  This is what the book of Psalms teaches us, “Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the tumbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.  Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

This message of praise is one that should be branded on our hearts, and we should wear it on our chest daily as a badge of honor, free from the fears of the world.  We are His children, and we should be proud to lift up our hands, open our mouths and shout out praises to the one that woke us up this morning and every morning that we are on this earth.

In our message today, I will be speaking to you from the Book of (2 Timothy 1:6-7).  Now here is what the Scriptures teaches us about overcoming our fears and standing up in the face of the devil and giving God all your praises in order that He may take you to that High Place in which He desires you to be: Now listen up, as the Bible speaks to you, it says, “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind, 2Timothy 1:6-7 KJV!”

Now click on this video and listen to a live video broadcast of today’s message by Pastor Davis at the Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Now let us conclude our service today with Pastor William Murphy singing Praise is what I do.

This is an aged old question that at some point in our spiritual journey we all have paused and asked ourselves.  Today as I sit and read the scriptures the lesson that I provide for you today provides the answers you need to know.  What I present to you today, are not my words, but the words that the message of God teaches us.  Take some time read and meditate on the true meaning of what scripture is teaching us when we ask the question, “CAN WE AS A PEOPLE BE SAVED?”  Now listen up:

Since before time began, no one has ever imagined; no ear heard, no eye seen, a God like you, who works for those who wait for him, you meet those who happily do what is right, who keep good memory of the way you work. But how angry you’ve been with us! We’ve sinned and kept at it so long! Is there any hope for us? Can we be saved? We’re all sin-infected, sin contaminated. Our best efforts are grease-stained rags. We dry up like autumn leaves sin-dried, we’re blown off by the wind.  Isaiah 64:3-6 MSG

I’ve made myself available to those who haven’t bothered to ask. I’m here; ready to be found by those who haven’t bothered to look. I kept saying ‘I’m here, I’m right here’ to a nation that ignored me. I reached out day after day to a people who turned their backs on me, People who make wrong turns, who insist on doing things their own way. They get on my nerves, are rude to my face day after day, Make up their own kitchen religion, a potluck religious stew.

They spend the night in tombs to get messages from the dead, Eat forbidden foods and drink a witch’s brew of potions and charms. They say, ‘Keep your distance. Don’t touch me. I’m holier than thou.’ These people gag me. I can’t stand their stench.

Look at this! Their sins are all written out I have the list before me. I’m not putting up with this any longer. I’ll pay them the wages they have coming for their sins, and for the sins of their parents lumped in, a bonus.” God says so.  “Because they’ve practiced their blasphemous worship, mocking me at their hillside shrines, I’ll let loose the consequences and pay them in full for their actions.”  Isaiah 65:1-7 MSG

Pay close attention now: I’m creating new heavens and a new earth.  All the earlier troubles, chaos, and pain are things of the past, to be forgotten.  Look ahead with joy. Anticipate what I’m creating: I’ll create Jerusalem as sheer joy, create my people as pure delight. I’ll take joy in Jerusalem, take delight in my people: No more sounds of weeping in the city, no cries of anguish; No more babies dying in the cradle, or old people who don’t enjoy a full lifetime;
One-hundredth birthdays will be considered normal anything less will seem like a cheat. They’ll build houses and move in. They’ll plant fields and eat what they grow. No more building a house that some outsider takes over, No more planting fields that some enemy confiscates,
For my people will be as long-lived as trees, my chosen ones will have satisfaction in their work.
They won’t work and have nothing come of it, they won’t have children snatched out from under them. For they themselves are plantings blessed by God, with their children and grandchildren likewise God-blessed. Before they call out, I’ll answer. Before they’ve finished speaking, I’ll have heard. Wolf and lamb will graze the same meadow, lion and ox eat straw from the same trough, but snakes—they’ll get a diet of dirt! Neither animal nor human will hurt or kill
anywhere on my Holy Mountain,” says God.  Isaiah 65:-17-25 MSG

SUNRISE BREAKS THROUGH THE DARKNESS FOR GOOD PEOPLE

Sunrise Breaks Through the Darkness (Photo by Pastor Davis)

Blessed man, blessed woman, who fear God,
Who cherish and relish his commandments,
Their children robust on the earth,
And the homes of the upright—how blessed!
Their houses brim with wealth
And a generosity that never runs dry.
Sunrise breaks through the darkness for good people—
God’s grace and mercy and justice!
The good person is generous and lends lavishly;
No shuffling or stumbling around for this one,
But a sterling and solid and lasting reputation.
Unfazed by rumor and gossip,
Heart ready, trusting in God,
Spirit firm, unperturbed,
Ever blessed, relaxed among enemies,
They lavish gifts on the poor—
A generosity that goes on, and on, and on.
An honored life! A beautiful life!
Someone wicked takes one look and rages,
Blusters away but ends up speechless.
There’s nothing to the dreams of the wicked. Nothing! (Psalm 112 MSG)

THE LORD WATCHES OVER YOU

THE LORD WATCHES OVER YOU

THE LORD WATCHES OVER YOU AND HE IS YOUR CARETAKER: Psalm 121

If you are willing to surrender to the Lord, he will abide in you and you in him. With him living in you, your life become one of peace, harmony, joy and complete trust.  When faced with many trials and tribulations lift up your eyes to the mountains where the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth patiently awaits your request, your response.  Jesus rescued us from this evil world by offering himself as a sacrifice for our sins; therefore we are blessed through grace and peace that enhance who we truly are.

In Psalm 121 the Bible teaches us that THE LORD WATCHES OVER YOU, AND HE IS THE CARETAKER.  It further says this, “I lift up my eyes to the mountains where does my help come from?  My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.  He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you—the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. (Psalms 121 NIV)

The Lord Watches over You because he already had everything planned from the very beginning. A reminder in the book of JeremiahI know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall you call me, I will listen to you. If you seek me and find me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

Building intimacy with the Lord,   require effort and determination to walk and live in his presence as

Let us pray (Photo by Photo Bucket)

Let us pray (Photo by Photo Bucket)

we live out our purpose here on earth.  That process include taking time  to study God‘s word, to develop a prayer life, communicating with the Holy Spirit  making our request personal, and releasing those things that hinder our walk  by trusting that God will do what he said he would do. Your life should be one of obedience and total  surrender in order to build a solid foundation and remain connected to the Source that gives all;  always remember that The Lord Watches Over You.

Do you ever find yourself wondering why it seems so difficult to make the right connection? Consider  these words from the book Of Isaiah, “Behold the Lord’s hand is not shortened (amputated) he can still save; neither is his ears stopped up–he can still hear: there’s nothing wrong with God, the wrong is you, your sins got between you and God and caused a split so he doesn’t hear (Isaiah 59:1-2).

Jesus has cleared a way to mend the separation and beckons you to come and taste of the Living Water, surrender to the Caretaker of your soul. When you are willing and with an obedient attitude of thankfulness your blessings flow directly from the Lord, he knows what you need because as stated, The Lord Watches over You. Live life in expectancy by preparing your mind, heart and spirit for all God has promised to those who diligently seek him.

GOD HAS PROVIDED ALL THINGS IN THE UNIVERSE FOR OUR ENJOYMENT

FREE WILL BAPTIST CHURCH BEAULAVILLE, N.C. (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS) Christ is the head of the Church, and we are the members of His Body expressing ourselves as an unlimited and infinite Human Being.

The universe is unlimited and infinite. When you know that you are the universe, you will know that your true nature is unlimited and infinite. Therefore, we come into the full knowledge and understandings, that we have no choice other than to except the powers God has provided to us, and begin to embrace and explore our true and unlimited nature.  We only experience limitation and lack when we separate ourselves from ourselves.  Let us understand this one fact that the Bible makes crystal clear to us, and that is this; “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  (2 Timothy 1:7 KJVGod then took an extra step in the process, and this is what God has done for us; GOD HAS PROVIDED ALL THINGS IN THE UNIVERSE FOR OUR ENJOYMENT!”

A branch that is cut off from the vine loses its source of supply and therefore it withers and dies.  However, Jesus makes it plain when He tells us this, He says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bear much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.  (John 15:5-7 ESV)

Now know this, you are only limited by your thoughts. Godliness with contentment is great gain. Those who know they have enough are truly wealthy. What you have and what you are getting now is enough. Where you are is perfect because it is exactly where you need to be. Perfection is not something that you have to wait for until one day when it comes. Perfection exists in every moment. It is because every step of the way is part of the process. The process does not exist without the steps. Every step is perfection itself and when you are in it, you are perfect.

The universe operates all things in such perfect precision and harmony that you will only be presented with a situation at the right time and when you are ready for it. Everything occurs as part of the universal plan. You will always be provided with the resources you need in the moment, not before or after. When you know the divine power that is always taking care of you, and have the awareness of all things happening in divine order and divine timing, you will be perfectly contented in every moment.  WHY?  Because, “GOD HAS PROVIDED ALL THINGS IN THE UNIVERSE FOR OUR ENJOYMENT!”

Now let us lift up Holy Hands and thank God, Praise God for He is truly worthy.  We bless this message to you today in hopes that you will receive it, embrace it and begin to you it to be moved to that high place that God is taking you.  Stay in the flow of the process and you will arrive at your destination right on time.  Before leaving click on this short video clip of the Secret of the Universe and be blessed with additional knowledge and power.
