FRIDAY 3/28/14

PREPARE YOUR MIND FOR WARFARE

THE THINKEREvery true child of God soon learns that the Christian life is warfare.  The hosts of Satan are committed to hinder and obstruct the work of Christ and to knock the individual solider out of combat.  The more effective a believer is for the Lord, the more he will experience the savage attacks of the enemy: the devil does not waste his ammunition on nominal Christians.  In our own strength we are no match for the devil.  So the first preparatory command is that we should be continually strengthened in the Lord and in the boundless resources of His might.

THURSDAY 3/27/14

PATIENCE IS A PARTNER OF FAITH

Patience is shown when “you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6:12 NKJ) Patience is an active force of perseverance, endurance, fortitude, and persistence. Patience is a force of action that does not distract you from your corresponding action but under girds it.  With the force of patience, you possess a greater tenacity to succeed.  “By your steadfastness and patient endurance you shall win the true life of your souls.” (Luke 21:19 AMP)

BIRTH AND DEATH OCCUR SIMULTANEOUSLY

When we look deeply and recognize the causes and conditions that allow birth and death to be, we realize that birth and death are only notions.  The manifestation of something is not the beginning of its existence, and when something is not manifesting, this does not mean that it does not exist.  Before a phenomenon manifests, it is already there in the conditions.  Birth is made of death, and death is made of birth.  Birth and death occur simultaneously in each moment.  Before you were born, you were already there.  When you die, you do not become nothing.  You go back to the wholeness, to the base, in order to manifest again.

TUESDAY 3/25/14

HOW ORDERLY PEOPLE CONSERVE THEIR TIME

Orderly people conserve both their time and energy by never losing anything and therefore never having to find anything.  Everything is in its place, and the hand can be at once placed upon it, though it be in the dark.  They can well afford to be cool and deliberate, and so use their mental energies in something more profitable than irritation, bad temper, and accusing others for their own lack of order.

SATURDAY 3/22/14

SUPPLEMENT YOUR FAITH WITH VIRTUE

The WORD OF GOD speaks to us and says, “For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.” (2 Peter 1:5-7 ESV)

A PIECE OF PAPER TRANSCENDS BIRTH AND DEATH

Let us understand this one truth, something cannot become nothing; it cannot completely disappear and cease to exist. When we burn a piece of paper, the paper does not cease to exist; it becomes heat, ashes, and smoke. Heat penetrates the cosmos. Smoke and other gases rise into the air and form clouds, which give rise to rain. Ashes fall down to the Earth and nurture the soil. Rain and soil are two of the conditions necessary for trees to grow. Later, the tree may become a piece of paper again. Looking in this way, we can see that even a piece of paper transcends birth and death.

ACQUIRING KNOWLEDGE

Acquiring knowledge is like climbing a ladder: in order to step up to a higher rung we have to let go of the one we are standing on. If we believe that the step we are standing on is the highest, then we can climb no higher.

HUMANITY IS ESSENTIALLY DIVINE

Every precept of Jesus rest upon this truth. If a man were not defined, the precepts would be both worthless and meaningless, as there would be nothing within him, no divine spirit, to which they could appeal. The very fact that man is capable of loving his enemies  and of returning good for evil is an attestation  of his inward and essential divinity.

THURSDAY 3/20/14

FAITH IS THE SUBSTANCE OF THINGS HOPE FOR:

Faith is the beginning of the triumphant life, but knowledge is its consummation. Faith reveals the way, but knowledge is the goal. Faith suffers many afflictions; knowledge has transcended affliction. Faith endures; knowledge loves. Faith walks in darkness, but believes; knowledge acts in light, and knows. Faith inspires to affect; knowledge crowns effort with success. Faith is the substance of things hoped for; knowledge is the substance of things processed. Faith is the helpful staff of the Pilgrim; knowledge is the city of refugee at his journeys end. Without faith there will be no knowledge, but when knowledge is acquired, the work of faith is finished.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?  For many people, their thoughts and actions are the jailers of their own Fate.  They imprison them, being base they are also the angels of FREEDOM, they liberate, being noble.  Now what a person wishes and prays for does that person get, but what that person justly earns.  Your wishes and prayers are only gratified and answered when you are harmonize with your thoughts and actions.

MONDAY 7/23/12

A human being is part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest. A kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. The true value of a human being is determined by the measure and the sense in which they have obtained liberation from the self. …
We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if humanity is to survive. (Albert Einstein, 1954)

MONDAY 6/25/12

Nature is none other than God in things… Animals and plants are living effects of Nature; Whence all of God is in all things. … All things are in the Universe, and the universe is in all things: we in it, and it in us; in this way everything concurs in a perfect unity. … Before anything else the One must exist eternally; from his power derives everything that always is or will ever be. (Giordano Bruno, 1585)

UNDERSTANDING THE REAL BATTLES IN OUR LIVES

The Thinking Man sculpture at Musée Rodin in Paris

The real battle of life is one of ideas; it is being fought out by the few against the many, on the one side is the constructive and creative thought, on the other side the destructive and negative thought; the creative thought is dominated by an ideal, the passive thought is dominated by appearance.  On both sides are men and women of science, of letters, and of affairs. On the creative side are men and women who spend their time in laboratories, or over microscopes and telescopes, side by side with the one’s who dominate the commercial, political, and scientific world; on the negative side or men and women who spend their time investigating law and precedent, who mistake theology for religion, statesmen who mistake might for right, and all the millions who seem to prefer precedent to progress, who are eternally looking backward instead of forward, who see only the world without, but know nothing of the world within.

SATURDAY 5/19/12

OUR PREDOMINANT THOUGHTS CREATE OUR PERSONALITY

This mental attitude is our personality and it is composed of the thoughts which we have been creating in our own mind; therefore, if we wish a change in conditions all that is necessary is to change our thoughts; this will in turn change our mental attitude, which will in turn change our personality, which will in turn change the persons, things and conditions, or, the experiences with which we meet in life.

THURSDAY 5/17/12

TRANSFORM YOUR THINKING

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.  (Romans 12:2 ESV)

WEDNESDAY 5/16/12

DARE TO LIVE!

Far  better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though chequered by failure, than to take rank with those poor souls who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat. By Theodore Roosevelt

TUESDAY 5/15/12

THE MAN THAT FALLS IN LOVE WITH HIS MONEY!

A man may love his money, but he must part with it before he can receive the material comforts of life.  Likewise a man may love his selfish gratifications, but he must give them up before he can receive the spiritual comforts of religion.

MONDAY 5/14/12

TO LIVE TO THINK!

To live is to think and act, and to think and act is to change.  While man is ignorant of the nature of thought, he continues to change for better or worse, but, being acquainted with the nature of thought, he intelligently accelerates and directs the process of change, and only for the better.

MONDAY 5/07/12

THERE IS NO FEAR IN LOVE

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 1 John 4:18 ESV

MONDAY 5/07/12

THE POWERS OF THE MIND

When the powers of the mind are diverted from speculative theorizing to practical doing, whether in material or moral directions, skill, power, knowledge, and prosperity increase.

SUNDAY 5/06/12

HOW A PERSON‘S PROSPERITY IS MEASURED

A man’s prosperity is measured by his usefulness to the community, and a man is useful in accordance with what he does, and not because of the theories which he entertains.

WEDNESDAY 5/02/12

CAN YOU WRAP YOUR MIND AROUND THE FLAMES OF ALL-EMBRACING LOVE?

The Divine Order cannot be perceived until passion and self are transcended; the Faultless Justice cannot be apprehended until all sense of injury and wrong is consumed in the pure flames of the all-embracing Love.

TUESDAY 5/01/12

ARE YOU BLINDED BY SELF?

The person who thinks, “I have been slighted, I have been injured, I have been insulted, I have been treated unjustly,” cannot know what justice is; blinded by self, that person cannot perceive the pure Principles of Truth, and brooding upon their wrongs,  he are she will live in continual misery.

MONDAY 4/30/12

GETTING HEALTHY AND STAYING HEALTHY

If the state of our health is not all that could be desired, let us examine our method of thinking; let us remember that every thought produces an impression on the mind; every impression is a seed which will sink into the subconscious and form a tendency; the tendency will be to attract other similar thoughts and before we know it we shall have a crop which must be harvested.  For additional info on this subject click on this link:

SATURDAY 4/28/12

DID YOU FORGET THAT LIKE ATTRACTS LIKE?

Book of Knowledge

Book of Knowledge (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

We frequently hear it said, “A very distressing situation came into my life, which could not have been the result of my thought, as I certainly never entertained any thought which could have such a result.”  What we fail to remember is that like attracts like in the mental world, and that the thought which we entertain brings to us certain friendships, companion-ships of a particular kind, and these in turn bring about conditions and environment, which in turn are responsible for the conditions of which we complain.

SATURDAY 4/28/12

EVERY EFFECT IS THE RESULT OF A CAUSE

It is well, however, to remember that while every effect is the result of a cause, the effect in turn becomes a cause, which creates other effects, which in turn create still other causes; so that when you put the Law of Attraction into operation you must remember that you are starting a train of causation for good or otherwise which may have endless possibilities.

FRIDAY 4/27/12

THE CREATIVE POWERS OF YOUR THOUGHT

Knowledge, observation and reality

Knowledge, observation and reality (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

A student wrote and asked this question: In what does the creative power of thought consist?  My answer to this question is very simple; It consists in creating ideas, and these in turn objectify themselves by appropriating, inventing, observing, discerning, discovering, analyzing, ruling, governing, combining, and applying matter and force.  It can do this because it is an intelligent creative power, and that my friend is the reality of The Creative Powers of Your Thought.

THURSDAY 4/26/12

THE FATHER AND I ARE ONE

The old orthodox way of thinking was to be “a worm,” to be satisfied with our portion whatever it is; but the modern idea is to know that we are entitled to the best of everything, that the “Father and I are truly one” and that the “Father” is the Universal Mind, the Creator, the Original Substance from which all things proceed.

Everything anyone wants to know about God and his purposes in the world is answered in the person of Christ.  The secret is revealed because it is Christ in whom lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.  True wisdom is found only in Christ; true knowledge is found only in Christ. Knowledge is often described as good judgment, wisdom as application of that good judgment in the form of actions.

THURSDAY 4/19/12

SUCCESS COMES BY DISCIPLINING YOURSELF

There can be no marked success apart from a love of regularity and discipline, and the avoidance of friction, along with the restfulness and efficiency of mind which spring from such regularity.  People who abhor discipline, whose minds are ungoverned and anarchic, and who are careless and irregular in their thinking, their habits, and the management of their affairs, cannot be highly successful and prosperous, and they fill their lives with numerous worries, troubles, difficulties, and petty annoyances, all of which would disappear under a proper regulation of their lives.

TUESDAY 4/17/12

FREE YOUR MIND OF ALL FEARS AND THEN LIVE FREE

If we fear our fellow-men, fear opinion, poverty, the withdrawal of friends and influence, then we are bound indeed, and cannot know the inward happiness of the enlightened, the freedom of the just; but if in our thoughts we are pure and free, if we see in life’s reactions and reverses nothing to cause us trouble or fear, but everything to aid us in our progress, nothing remains that can prevent us from accomplishing the aims of our life, for then we are free indeed.  LIVE FREE, LIVE FREE, LIVE FREE NOW!

UNDERSTANDING OUR TWO WORLDS

The Power of Thought - NARA - 534178

Image via Wikipedia

Now let us understand this very important fact, there is a world within each of us—a world of thought and feeling and power; of light and life and beauty and, although invisible, its forces are mighty.

This world that is within us is governed by our mind.  When we discover this world we shall find the solution for every problem, the cause for every effect; and since the world within is subject to our control, and all laws of power and possession are also within our control.

However, our world that is without is a reflection of the world within.  What appears without is what has been found within.  In the world within may be found infinite Wisdom, infinite Power, and infinite Supply of all that is necessary, waiting for enfoldment, development, and expression.  If we recognize these potentialities in the world within they will take form in the world without.

TUESDAY 3/13/12

Your Thought Power is Limitless: There is a single, intelligent Consciousness that pervades the entire Universe, which is all powerful, all knowing, all creative and present everywhere at the same time – the Universal Mind. Your mind is part of this One Universal Mind and since your thoughts are a product of your mind, it follows that your thought power too is limitless. Once you truly understand that your mind is one with the Single Source of All Power and that this power is within you, you will have found the only true source of infinite power for which nothing is impossible and impossible is nothing. Know that thought power comes from within. Accessing the source of All Power starts by looking inwards.   by Tania Kotsos of Mind Reality Thoughts Blog

SUNDAY 3/11/12

For Every Outside Effect There is an Inner Cause: Every effect you see in your outside or physical world has a specific cause which has its origin in your inner or mental world. This is the essence of thought power. Put another way, the conditions and circumstances of your life are as a result of your collective thoughts and beliefs. James Allen said it best when he said “circumstances do not make a man, they reveal him”. Every aspect of your life, from the state of your finances to the state of your health and your relationships, is accurately revealing your thoughts and your beliefs.

TUESDAY 2/28/12

Self-pity gets you nowhere.  One must have the adventurous daring to accept oneself as a bundle of possibilities and undertake the most interesting game in the world, making the most of one’s best. By: Harry Emerson Fosdick

MONDAY 2/27/12

Had it not been for seeing and hearing, light and sound would have been naught but confusion and pulsations in space.  Likewise, had it not been for the heart you love, you would have been a fine dust blown and scattered by the wind.  Kahlil Gibran

SUNDAY 2/26/12

Aspiration, meditation, devotion-these are the chief means which men in all ages employ to reach up to higher modes of thought, wide airs of peace, vaster realms of knowledge, for “as he thinketh in his heart, so is he;” he is saved from himself-from his own folly and suffering-by creating within new habits of thoughts, by  becoming a new thinker, a new man.  James Allen

WEDNESDAY 2/22/12

Nature is none other than God in things… Animals and plants are living effects of Nature; Whence all of God is in all things. … All things are in the Universe, and the universe is in all things: we in it, and it in us; in this way everything concurs in a perfect unity. … Before anything else the One must exist eternally; from his power derives everything that always is or will ever be. (Giordano Bruno, 1585)

SUNDAY 2/19/12

(Gottfried Leibniz, Philosophical Writings, 1670) Reality cannot be found except in One single source, because of the interconnection of all things with one another. … I do not conceive of any reality at all as without genuine unity. … I maintain also that substances, whether material or immaterial, cannot be conceived in their bare essence without any activity, activity being of the essence of substance in general. … It follows from what we have just said, that the natural changes of monads come from an internal principle, and that change is continual in each one. … Now this connection of all created things with each, and of each with all the rest, means that each simple substance has relations which express all the others, each created monad represents the whole universe.’

SATURDAY 2/18/12

(Heraclitus, 500 B.C.) ‘All things come out of the One and the One out of all things. … I see nothing but Becoming. Be not deceived! It is the fault of your limited outlook and not the fault of the essence of things if you believe that you see firm land anywhere in the ocean of Becoming and Passing. You need names for things, just as if they had a rigid permanence, but the very river in which you bathe a second time is no longer the same one which you entered before.’

THURSDAY 2/9/12

Thought is the plastic material with which we build images of our growing conception of life.  Use determines its existence.  As in all other things our ability to recognize it and use it properly is the necessary condition for attainment.

FRIDAY 2/3/12

It is in the nature of mind to create its own conditions, and to choose the states in which it shall dwell.  It also has the power to alter any condition and to abandon any state, and this it is continually doing as it gathers knowledge of state after state by repeated choice and exhaustive experience.

THURSDAY 2/2/12

When I am pure, I shall have solved the mystery of life, I shall be sure. When I am free from hatred, lust and strife, I am in Truth, and Truth abides in me. I shall be safe and sane and wholly free.  When I am pure.

THURSDAY 2/2/12

Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law and the Prophets hangs from them.”  (Matthew 22:37-40 MSG)

The national mental status in the U.S. appears to be shaky. Depression, despair, stress, anxiety, anger, revenge, prolonged grief, jealousy, and apathy abound. Many others could be listed. These can be powerful disease triggers. The results of a national survey by the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare indicated that 25 percent of the population admitted to being under a major degree of stress. One source estimated that perhaps one-third of Americans could be considered mentally healthy.

If a partial list were to be composed of physical diseases with apparent psychological components, it would look something like this: allergies, asthma, angina, arthritis, back pain, cancer, hair and scalp problems, headaches, heart disease, hypertension, insomnia, impotence, irritable bowel syndrome, skin problems, and ulcers. It has been estimated that 75 percent of all complaints that patients present are stress related.

How does our mind contribute to disease? Negative emotions trigger the release of certain hormones and stimulate the nervous system in such a way as to put stress on the various organs in the body. As these organs are subjected to this stress over long periods of time they become weakened. Once weakened they are more susceptible to disease processes invading from without or being triggered from within. Which organs are affected first, and to what degree, depends upon the person’s heredity, constitution, environment, and lifestyle. By the time symptoms of disease occur it is often difficult to trace them from cause to effect and to know for sure which risk factors played the primary role in the disease process.
