GOD IS THE LIGHT OF THE UNIVERSE

As we begin this study of Living in the light as light, we begin with two precepts.  First we begin with light as the substance that illuminates the world.  Second we come into the knowledge and understanding as to whom and what this substance that illuminates the world is.  In this study we will use pictures and video clips to help us take you into a deeper and more profound understanding of who God is, who we are and who we are in God.  So as you explore this subject “GOD AS THE LIGHT OF THE UNIVERSE”  pause and meditate on what is being conceived in your mind. Now allow your mind to take you deep into the mind of God as He created you in His image to be a reflector of this light.  Click on this video clip and let us begin our studies.

Growing up into Christ (YOU ARE TRULY DIVINE)

The change of heart by which we become children of God is in the Bible spoken of as birth. Again, it is compared to the germination of the good seed sown by the husbandman. In like manner those who are just converted to Christ are,” as newborn babies,” to grow up” to the stature of the men and women in Christ Jesus1 Peter 2:2; Ephesians 4:15. Or like the good seed sown in the field, they ought to grow up and bring forth fruit. Isaiah says that they shall” be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3. Therefore, from natural life, illustrations are drawn, to help us better understand the mysterious truths of spiritual life.

Not all the wisdom and skill of command can produce life in the smallest object in nature. It is only through the life which God himself has imparted, that either plant or animal can live. Therefore, it is only through the life from God that spiritual life is begotten in the hearts of man. Unless a man is “born from above,” he cannot become a partaker of the life, which Christ came to give. John 3:3.

As with life, so it is with growth. It is God, who brings the bud to bloom and the flower to fruit. It is by his power that the seed develops,” first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.” Mark 4:28. Moreover, the prophet Hosea says to Israel, that “he shall grow as the Lily.”  “They shall revise as the corn, and grow as the vine.” Hosea 14:5, 7.  And Jesus bids us” consider the lilies how they grow.” Luke 12:27. The plants and flowers grow not by their own care, anxiety, or effort, but by receiving that which God has furnished to minister to their life. The child cannot by any anxiety or power of its own, add to its own stature. No more can you, by anxiety or effort of yourself, secure spiritual growth. The plant, the child, grows by receiving from its surroundings that which ministers to its life – air, sunshine, and food. What these gifts of nature are to animal and plant, such is Christ to those who trust in him. He is there” everlasting light,”  “a sun and shield.”  Isaiah 60:19; Psalms 84:11, he shall be as ” the dew unto Israel.” “He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass.” Hosea 14:5; it Psalms 72:6. He is the living water,” the bread of God… Which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.” John 6:33.

Now in the Maecenas give of his son, God has in store call the whole world with an atmosphere of grace as real as the air which circulates around the globe. All who choose to breathe this life given atmosphere will live and grow up to the stature of men and women in Christ Jesus.

As the flower turns to the sun, that the bright beams of may aid in perfecting its beauty and symmetry, so should we turn to the Sun of righteousness, that heavens light may shine upon us, that our character may be developed into the likeness of Christ.

Jesus teaches the same thing when he says, “abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abides in the vine; no more can ye, except he abide in me… Without me you can do nothing.” John 15:4, 5. You are just as dependent upon Christ, in order to live a holy life, as is the branch upon the parent stock for growth and fruitfulness. Apart From Him, you have no life. You have no power to resist temptation or to grow in grace and holiness. Abiding in him, you may flourish. Drawing your life from him, you will not wither nor be fruitless. You will be like a tree, planted by the rivers of water.

Many have an idea that they must do some part of the work alone. They have trusted in Christ’s for the forgiveness of sin, but now they seek by their own efforts to live aright. However, every such effort must fail. Jesus says,” Without me ye can do nothing.” Our growth in grace, our joy, our usefulness, all depend upon our union with Christ. It is by communion with him, daily, hourly, by abiding in him, that we are to grow in grace. He is not only the author, but the finisher of our faith. It is Christ’s first, last, and always. He is to be with us, not only at the beginning and the end of our course, but at every step of the way.” I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” Psalms 16:8.

Do you ask,” how is I to abide in Christ?” In the same way as you received him at first.” As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk you in him.”  ” The just shall live by faith.” Colossians 2:6; Hebrews 10:38. You gave yourself to God, to be his holy, to serve and obey him, and you took Christ as your Savior. You could not yourself atone for your sins are changing your heart; but having given yourself to God, you believe that He for Christ sake did all this for you.

By faith, you became Christ’s, and by faith, you are to grow up in him, by giving and taking. You are to give all, your heart, you will, your service, give yourself to him to obey all his requirements; and you must take all, Christ, the fullness of all blessings, to abide in your heart, to be your strength, your righteousness, your everlasting helper, to give you power to obey.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW JESUS CHRIST DAILY LIVES HIS LIFE IN YOU?

OUR BLESSINGS AND FAVOR ARE IN THE RISING OF THE SUN JESUS IS THAT LIGHT WHICH LIVES IN US (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

Now before you continue reading and studying this lesson push the pause button on your thoughts and think deeply on this question, “DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW JESUS CHRIST DAILY LIVES HIS LIFE IN YOU?”  The question is not an idle one and it is certainly not one that is meant to trip you up.  We just want you to understand without an ounce of doubt just how Jesus lives and functions in your life daily doing all the things you are capable of doing without you ever having to think about how He is operating within you.

To understand this clearly you must comprehend the meaning of the VINE AND BRANCH.  What is the VINE and BRANCH?  Listen to how Jesus explains it’s meaning, He says, “I am the VINE; you are the

JESUS IS THE VINE AND WE ARE THE BRANCHES

JESUS IS THE VINE AND WE ARE THE BRANCHES

BRANCHES. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bear much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.  (John 15:5 ESV).  Here once again I ask you to pause your thoughts, and think deeply on this passage, because sometimes we read it and move onto the next passage without considering just what Jesus is attempting to teach us.

Now that you understand it, come with me on this journey and allow me to share with you a deeper meaning of WHAT IT MEANS TO UNDERSTAND HOW JESUS CHRIST DAILY LIVES HIS LIFE IN YOU.  It is often difficult to believe that we who are on this earth can really know ourselves to be always, without interruption, in His hands and under His power.  How much clearer and more glorious the truth becomes when the Spirit reveals to us that Jesus Christ is in us.  He is in us, not only as a tenant in a house or water in a glass, but rather like the soul is in the body moving every part and never separated from each other.

Yes, Jesus Christ dwells in us, penetrating our whole nature with His nature.  The Holy Spirit came for the purpose of making Jesus deeply present within us.  The sun is high in the firmament above me and yet, by its heat, penetrates my bones and marrow and quickens my whole life.

Likewise, the Lord Jesus, who is exalted high in heaven, penetrates my whole nature by His Spirit until all my willing, thinking, and feeling are moved by Him.

Once this fact is fully grasped, we no longer think of an external keeping through a person outside of us in heaven.  We become convinced that our life is quickened by One who, in a divine manner, occupies the heart.  Then we see how natural, how certain, and how blessed it is that the indwelling Jesus keeps the blessing and always maintains the fullness of the Spirit.

My Brothers and Sisters, I ask you today, is there anyone among you who is longing for this life in the fullness of blessing, yet is afraid to enter into it because he does not know how to persevere?  Jesus will make this blessing continuous and sure.  Is there any one of you who longs for it and cannot understand wherein the secret lies?  The blessing is this, as Jesus Christ was with His disciples daily in bodily fashion, so He will, by His Spirit, daily live His life in you.  No one can fully understand how things look on the top of a mountain until he himself has been there.

Although you do not understand everything, believe that the Lord Jesus has sent His Spirit with no other object in view than to keep you in His divine power.  Trust Him for this.  Let all burdens be laid aside to receive this blessing from Him as a fountain which He Himself will cause to spring up in you unto everlasting life.

Now as we pause at an unknown station on this journey for a moment in time, it is my hope that you have thought deeply on this question, “DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW JESUS CHRIST DAILY LIVES HIS LIFE IN YOU?”  Your thought process has allowed you to comprehend what it means to have Jesus living daily in your life, blessing you as you go about doing his will.  Know that we have ministered this message to you and taken you on this journey today from the position of God’ PURPOSE that He has given to each of us, sent us on this journey to discover the truth that the truth will set us free and he done this in PEACE with all POWER centered in his hand because he told us that He was the true VINE and we are the BRANCES, Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bear much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.  By abiding in Jesus and He living inside of you, and you are truly committed to doing His will, you will enjoy real PROSPERITY.  I remain your brother in Jesus Christ, Pastor Davis/Master Teacher!

FREE WILL BAPTIST CHURCH BEAULAVILLE, N.C. (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS) Christ is the head of the Church, and we are the members of His Body expressing ourselves as an unlimited and infinite Human Being.

The universe is unlimited and infinite. When you know that you are the universe, you will know that your true nature is unlimited and infinite. Therefore, we come into the full knowledge and understandings, that we have no choice other than to except the powers God has provided to us, and begin to embrace and explore our true and unlimited nature.  We only experience limitation and lack when we separate ourselves from ourselves.  Let us understand this one fact that the Bible makes crystal clear to us, and that is this; “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  (2 Timothy 1:7 KJVGod then took an extra step in the process, and this is what God has done for us; GOD HAS PROVIDED ALL THINGS IN THE UNIVERSE FOR OUR ENJOYMENT!”

A branch that is cut off from the vine loses its source of supply and therefore it withers and dies.  However, Jesus makes it plain when He tells us this, He says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bear much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.  (John 15:5-7 ESV)

Now know this, you are only limited by your thoughts. Godliness with contentment is great gain. Those who know they have enough are truly wealthy. What you have and what you are getting now is enough. Where you are is perfect because it is exactly where you need to be. Perfection is not something that you have to wait for until one day when it comes. Perfection exists in every moment. It is because every step of the way is part of the process. The process does not exist without the steps. Every step is perfection itself and when you are in it, you are perfect.

The universe operates all things in such perfect precision and harmony that you will only be presented with a situation at the right time and when you are ready for it. Everything occurs as part of the universal plan. You will always be provided with the resources you need in the moment, not before or after. When you know the divine power that is always taking care of you, and have the awareness of all things happening in divine order and divine timing, you will be perfectly contented in every moment.  WHY?  Because, “GOD HAS PROVIDED ALL THINGS IN THE UNIVERSE FOR OUR ENJOYMENT!”

Now let us lift up Holy Hands and thank God, Praise God for He is truly worthy.  We bless this message to you today in hopes that you will receive it, embrace it and begin to you it to be moved to that high place that God is taking you.  Stay in the flow of the process and you will arrive at your destination right on time.  Before leaving click on this short video clip of the Secret of the Universe and be blessed with additional knowledge and power.

GROWING UP IN THE GRACE OF JESUS CHRIST

GROWING UP IN THE GRACE OF JESUS CHRIST

We were created in the image of God and given His Character that we may grow up in His grace.  We can do nothing of our own.  Our growth is totally depended upon the actions of God.  Everything in the Universe was created by God and for God that it may grow and flourish in the manner God has chosen it to be.  Therefore, as a newborn creature in this life, our mission is to grow up in the grace of Jesus Christ.

Now the question becomes, how do we accomplish our mission that God has given us?  As with all life, so it is with growth.  We must learn to lean and depend on the maker and giver of all life.  Know that it is only God, who brings the bud to bloom and the flower to fruit. It is by his power that the seed develops,” first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.” Mark 4:28.

The plants and flowers grow not by their own care, anxiety, or effort, but by receiving that which God has furnished to minister to their life. The child cannot by any anxiety or power of its own, add to its own stature. No more can you, by anxiety or effort of yourself, secure spiritual growth.  No, all life is the mystery and work of God provided to us through His power and grace.

GOD IS THE LIGHT OF THE UNIVERSE

The Universe Source of Power (Photo by Shirley Rhodes)

In today’s lesson we are focusing our attention on God as the light of the Universe.  Throughout all of our studies, God is the center of all that we do.  Therefore, we invite you to click on the link to our home page and study this subject with intense care and patience, with an eye to understanding the true source of the light that reflects who we are, the energy and power that drives our life and provides us with eternal life.

God is light; He is the light of the world.  For so many of us, we have taken this light for granted.  When we awaken each day, we believe that this light will always be there without ever giving it a second thought of how it got there and how it remains there for our lives to exist from.

Light produces growth in our Crops (Photo by Shirley Rhodes)

Let us reflect upon this thought for a moment; Light enables people to do their work.  It produces growth in crops; it reveals beauty and provides safety.  Light represents what is good, pure, true, holy, and reliable.  Light reveals; light shines.  God is so completely “light” that there is no darkness in him at all.  “Darkness” represents what is sinful and evil.  God is untainted by any evil or sin.  Thus “God is light” means that God is perfectly holy and true and that he alone can guide people out of the darkness of sin.

THE VINE AND THE BRANCH GARDNER

THE VINE AND THE BRANCH GARDNER

GOD MUST DISCIPLINE US TO STRENGTHEN OUR CHARACTER AND FAITH

Successful gardeners know that pruning, cutting back the branches, increases fruit bearing.  Each spring

The Successful Gardner (Photo by Pastor Davis)

vinedressers cut back each vine to its rootstock to enhance its fruitfulness.  Sincere believers, the fruitful branches, will be “pruned,” meaning that God must sometimes discipline us to strengthen our character and faith.  However, branches that do not bear fruit are “cut off” at the trunk and are completely discarded because they are worthless and often infect the rest of the plant.  People who will not bear fruit for God or who try to block the efforts of God’s followers will be cut off from his life-giving power.

The grapevine is a prolific plant; a single vine bears many grapes.  In the Old Testament, grapes symbolized Israel’s fruitfulness in doing God’s work on earth.  The prophets had written of Israel as God’s vine, carefully planted and cared for.  However, the vine was a disappointment because it yielded only rotten fruit; that is, they refused to give him love and obedience.

Jesus, with all believers “abiding” in him, is the true vine, the true fulfillment of God’s plan for his people.  The new society of God’s people, Christians – originates from Christ and is united to him as branches to a vineGod is the gardener, the cultivator of the vine and the branches.  Believers, both sincere and false, are pictured here as the branches.

The fruitful branches are true believers who, by their living union with Christ, produce much fruit.  Nevertheless, this union can be broken.  The Father cuts off every branch that does not produce fruit.  Those who become unproductive – those who turn back from following Christ after making a superficial commitment – will be separated from the vine.  Unproductive followers are as good as dead and will be cut off and tossed aside.  Jesus said, “I AM THE VINE, YOU ARE THE BRANCHES!” Now click on this video clip and watch for a moment.

Believers are to remain in Jesus, the vine, and he will remain in us.  A vine branch can survive and produce foliage for a while after it has been severed, but it cannot produce fruit unless it is connected to a rootstock.  As Jesus had a living dependence on the Father, so believers in Jesus need to have a living dependence on him; “Remaining,” for the disciples and for all believers today, means to make a constant, and moment-by-moment decision to follow Christ.

In addition, we must not be passive-believers; we must not just sit and “remain” until we die.  Instead, we must be active-we have a lot to do. “THE VINE AND THE BRANCH GARDNER KNOWS THAT GOD MUST DISCIPLINE US TO STRENGTHEN OUR CHARACTER AND FAITH!”  “To be continued!”

PROCLAIMING THE I AM

PROCLAIMING THE I AM

The Lion is of the tribe of Judah (Photo by Pastor Davis)

TODAY WE ARE PROCLAIMING THE I AM THAT LIVES IN EACH ONE OF US

The Lord has spoken to us, and He has proclaimed, that He is, the, “I AM!”

He said, “I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness (Isaiah 42:6a ESV)

I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. (John 10:9 ESV)

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 ESV)

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.” (John 11:25c,d ESV)

“I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. (John 6:35 ESV).

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.  He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. (John 10:11-13 ESV)

I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.  (John 10:14 ESV).

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.  Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.  (John 15:1-4 ESV)

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bear much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

I am the Vine and you are the Branches.  When you learn the truth of who the “I AM,” that lives in you and come into the full and complete knowledge and understanding that, “In him was life, and the life was the light of men (John 1:4a ESV,”) then you will know the truth of these final words spoken by Jesus when he said, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my DISCIPLES. (John 15:7-8 ESV).

We bless this word to you that it may stir up the Holy Spirit that is alive inside of you and seeking the release of its full and unlimited powers that will propel you to any place or heights that you may desire.  The choice is yours, what do you believe?

I AM THE TRUE VINE

I AM THE TRUE VINE

Pastor Davis Before the Throne of Grace

These are the words of Jesus, as he spoke to his disciples a most valuable lesson as he sent them out into the world to bring salvation to the lost sheep. He begins instructing them in this manner as he said, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. I AM THE TRUE VINE; you are the BRANCHES. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. (John 15:1-8 ESV)

The question that is before you today my brothers and sisters, is this, “Will you except Jesus invitation to ABIDE IN HIM, and become a fruit bearing soul winner?  He spoke clearly and said to each of you, “I AM,” Jesus is, the “I AM” that lives within each of you. Remember when Moses asked God who do he tell Pharaoh that it was who sent him. God simply said, tell him, “I AM,” sent you.  Here again, Jesus speaks truth to power when he says, “I AM THE TRUE VINE, you are the BRANCHES. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bear much fruit.

Just as a branch derives life from the VINE, so the believer derives life from Jesus.  The Lord not only calls his followers to carry out a great mission and live a godly life, but he also gives them the power to do both.  All they must do is remain close to him, and Jesus will infuse them with his life.  In a very real sense, Jesus branched out through his followers.

However, in order to teach his followers how to abide in the VINE, he often used nature as a tool to illustrate Spiritual Truth, and the organic metaphor in this passage speaks of reproductive life.  The VINE, BRANCHES and FRUIT constitute an integrated biological system in which the Fruit is the abundant product of life that is derived from the nutrients in the soil.

Just as the branch must receive its life from the VINE, so BELIEVERS must depend upon and look to the life of Christ within them to find their Spiritual Vitality.  And just as the fruit nourishes others and contains within itself the seeds of its own reproduction, so the outward manifestation of the life of Christ in us nourishes and reproduces his life in others.  If any part of the system malfunctions, the byproduct of fruit will fail to appear.  This is the real reason that you must understand, comprehend, pray on, and finally meditate on what Jesus meant when he said, “I AM THE TRUE VINE; you are the BRANCHES. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bear much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”  “AMEN!”  THANK YOU JESUS FOR THE TRUTH OF YOUR WORD!

I AM THE VINE YOU ARE THE BRANCHES

WHO ARE WE?

JESUS SHOWS COMPASSION FOR THE PEOPLE (PART 5 of 5)

THE HARVEST IS RIPE BUT THE LABORS ARE FEW (MATTHEW 9:36-38)

We have shared with you a deep and clear path for you to follow if you are truly committed to being that one disciple who will pick up his cross and follow the path that Jesus has laid out for those who truly do love him.  I encourage each of you to go back and study each one of these lessons in its entirety, watch the videos and allow your mind to be taken on a journey as they prepare you to go into the vineyard and retrieve the harvest that has become ripen and ready for you to bring into God’s market place.

Now understand clearly what Jesus is saying to you when he says these words, “I am the Vine, you are the branches.  When you ‘rejoined with me and I with you, the relationship is intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant.  Separate, you can’t produce a thing.  Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire.  But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon.  This is how my Father shows who he is when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples.”  Through the study of this lesson, I am certain that each one of you has matured as one of Jesus Disciples and you are now ready to be obedient to his word because your state of mind is now one of maturity.

Therefore, allow me to conclude this lesson with the following remarks:

1. This state of mind that we have been discussing is as obligatory upon sinners as upon saints. All men ought to feel this compassion for souls. Why not? Can any reason be named why a sinner should not feel as much compassion for souls as a Christian? Or why he ought not to love God and man as ardently?

2. Professors of religion who do not obey the true spirit of these precepts are hypocrites, without one exception. They profess to be truly religious, but are they? Certainly not, unless they are on the altar, devoted to God‘s work and in heart sincerely sympathizing in it. Without this, every one of them is a hypocrite. You profess to have the spirit of Christ; but when you see the multitudes as He saw them, perishing for lack of Gospel light, do you cry out in mighty prayer with compassion for their souls? If you have not this spirit, write yourself down a hypocrite.

3. Many do not pray that God would send forth laborers because they are afraid He will send them. I can recollect when religion was repulsive to me because I feared that if I should be convertedGod would send me to preach the Gospel. But I thought further on this subject. God, said I, have a right to dispose of me as He pleases, and I have no right to resist. If I do resist, He will put me in hell. If God wants me to be a minister of His Gospel and I resist and rebel, He surely ought to put me in hell, and doubtless He will.

But there are many young men in religious colleges today who never give themselves to prayer for the conversion of the world, lest God should send them into this work. You would blush to pray, “Lord, send forth laborers, but don’t send me.” If the reason you don’t want to go is that you have no heart for it, you may write yourself down a hypocrite, and that is no mistake.

If you say, “I have a heart for the work, but I am not qualified to go,” then you may consider that God will not call you unless you are, or can be qualified. He does not want unfit men in the service.

4. The ministry for the last quarter of a century has fallen into disgrace for this reason; many young men have entered it that never should have entered. Their hearts are not fixed, and they shrink from making sacrifices for Christ and His cause. Hence, they do not go straight forward, true to the right, firm for the oppressed, and strong for every good word and work. By whole platoons, they back out from the position which they have sworn to maintain. The hearts of multitudes of lay brethren and sisters are in great distress, crying out over this fearful defection. To a minister who was complaining of the public reproach cast on his order, a layman of Boston replied,
“I am sorry there is so many occasions for it; God means to rebuke the ministry, and He ought to rebuke them since they so richly deserve it.” Do not understand me to say that this vacillation of the ministry is universal; no, indeed; I am glad to know there are exceptions; but still the painful fact is that many have relapsed, and, consequently, as a class, they have lost character, and this has discouraged many young men from entering the ministry.

Let this be so no longer. Let the young men now preparing for the ministry come up to the spirit of their Master and rush to the front line of the battle. Let them toil for the good of souls, and love this toil as their great Lord has done before them. Thus by their fidelity let them redeem the character of this class of men from the reproach under which it now lies. Let them rally in their strength and lay themselves with one heart on the altar of God. So doing, not one generation should pass away ere it will be said — Mark the faithful men; note the men whose heart is in and on their work; the ministry is redeemed!

5. With sorrow I am compelled to say — Many don’t care whether the work is done or not. They are all swallowed up with ambitious a springs. Who does not know that they do not sympathize with JesusChrist?

Beloved, let me ask you if you are honestly conscious of sympathizing with your great Leader? I never can read the passage before us without being affected by the manifestation it makes of Christ‘s tenderness and love. There were the thronging multitudes before Him. To the merely external eye, all might have been fair; but to one who thought of their spiritual state, there was enough to move the deep fountains of compassionChrist saw them scattered abroad as sheep that have no shepherd. They had no teachers or guides in whom they could repose confidence. They were in darkness and moral deathChrist wept over them, and called on His disciples to sympathize in their case, and unite with Him in mighty prayer to the Lord of the harvest that He would send forth laborers. Such was His spirit. And now, dear young men, do you care whether or not this work is done?

6. Many seem determined to shirk this labor and leave it all for others to do. Indeed, they will hardly entertain the question what part God wants them to take and perform.

Now let me ask you – Will such as they be welcomed and applauded at last by the herald of judgment destiny, crying. Out, “Well done, good and faithful servants, enter ye into the joy of your Lord?” Never; no never!

7. Many say — I am not called, but really they are not devoted to this work so as to whether they are called or not. They do not want to be called — not they!

Now the very fact that you have the requisite qualifications, means, and facilities for preparation, indicates God‘s call. These constitute the voice of His providence, saying, Go forth, and prepare for labor in my vineyard! There is your scholarship; use it: there the classes for you to enter; go in and occupy till you are ready to enter the great white fields of the Savior‘s harvest. If providential indications favor, you must strive to keep up with their summons; pray for the baptisms of the Holy Ghostseek the divine anointing, and give yourself no rest till you are in all things furnished for the work God assigns you.

It is painful to see that many are committing themselves in some way or other against the work. They are putting themselves in a position which of itself forbids their engaging in it. But do let me ask you, young men, can you expect ever to be saved if, when you have the power and the means to engage in this work, you have no heart for it? No, indeed! You knock in vain at the gate of the blessed! You may go there and knock, but what will be the answer? Are ye my faithful servants? Were ye among the few, faithful among the faithless – quick and ready at your Master’s call? O no, no; you studied how you could shun the labor and shirk the self-denial! I know you not! Your portion lies without the city walls!

Let no one excuse himself, as not called, for God calls all too some sort of labor in the great harvest field. You never need, therefore, to excuse yourself as one not called to some service for your Lord and Master. And let no one excuse himself from the ministry unless his heart is on the altar and he himself praying and longing to go, and only held back by an obvious call of God, through His providence, to some other part of the great labor.

Many will be sent to hell at last for treating this subject as they have, with so much selfishness at heart! I know the young man who for a long time struggled between a strong conviction that God called him to the ministry and a great repellency against
engaging in this work. I know what this feeling is, for I felt it a long time myself. A
long time I had a secret conviction that I should be a minister, though my heart repelled it. In fact, my conversion turned very much upon my giving up this contest with God, and subduing this repellency of feeling against God‘s call.

8. You can see what it is to be a Christian, and what God demands of men at conversion. The turning point is — Will you really and honestly serve God? With students especially the question is wont to be — Will you abandon all your ambitious schemes and devote yourself to the humble, un-ambitious toil of preaching Christ‘s Gospel to the poor? Most of this class are ambitious and aspiring; they have schemes of self-elevation, which it were a trial to renounce altogether. Hence with you, your being a Christian and being saved at last will turn much, perhaps altogether, on your giving yourself up to this work in the true self- denial of the Gospel spirit.

9. Many have been called to this work, which afterwards backslide and abandon it. They begin well, but backslide; get into a state of great perplexity about their duty; perhaps, like Balaam, they are so unwilling to see their duty and so anxious to evade it, that God will not struggle with them any longer, but gives them up to their covetousness, or their ambition.

Young man, are you earnestly crying out, “Lord, what wilt Thou have me do?” Be assured, God wants you in His field somewhere; He has not abandoned His harvest to perish; He wants you in it, but He wants you first to repent and prepare your heart for the Gospel ministry. You need not enter it till you have done this.

Many are waiting for a miraculous call. This is a great mistake. God does not call men in any miraculous way. The finger of His providence points out the path, and the fitness He gives you indicates the work for you to do. You need not fear that God will call you wrong. He will point out the work He would have you do. Therefore, ask Him to guide you to the right spot in the great field. He will surely do it.

Young men, will you deal kindly and truly with my Master in this matter? Do you say, “O my God, I am on hand, ready for any part of the work Thou hast for me to do?’

What say you? Are you prepared to take this ground? Will you consecrate your education to this work? Are you ready and panting to consecrate your all to the work of your Lord? Do you say, “Yes, God shall have all my powers, entirely and forever?”I do beseech you, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” The altar of God is before you. A whole sacrifice is the thing required. Are you ready to fore go all your selfish schemes? Ye who have talents fitting you for the ministry, will you devote them with all your soul to this work? Say, will you deal honestly and truly with my Master? Say, do you love His cause, and count it your highest glory to be a laborer together with God, in gathering in the nations of lost men to the fold of your Redeemer?

Now, I ask you to please take note of Jesus final words to you, he says, “I’ve told you these things for a purpose: that my joy might be your joy, and your joy wholly mature.  This is my command:  Love one another the way I loved you.  This is the very best way to love.  Put your life on the line for your friends.  You are my friends when you do the things I command you.  I’m no longer calling you servants because servants don’t understand what their master is thinking and planning.  No, I’ve named you friends because I’ve let you in on everything I’ve heard from the Father.

“You didn’t choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil.  As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you.

“But remember the root command:  Love one another.

Our hope is that you have received this message in the Spirit that it was meant to be given, and now you are in a unique position to accept the challenges that are provided to you in this very special lesson and grow with us as we will with you and together we can bring about a much needed change in lives of the people of this world.  Working to lift them up out of poverty, to the possibilities of all things that are new in Jesus Christ, because we all are our brother’ keeper.

The VINE AND BRANCH WORLD MINISTRIES is taking the GOSPEL to the world and taking the WORLD one soul at a time.  Pause for a moment, and say, “BLESSED.” Because, you are truly BLESSED, and we minister to you from a position of PEACEPOWER, PURPOSE AND PROSPERITY!!!  Jesus is the true Vine and we are His branches and together we become, “THE VINE AND BRANCH WORLD MINISTRIES.”

OUR MISSION is to reach the world through the Word of God, with truth and power.  Allow the branches of this ministry tree to grow and spread to every corner of the world, and sow a seed of salvation in one soul at a time, in doing so; we will transform the world and the lives of each person into a brand new flower in Jesus Christ and one of us will bear much fruit as Jesus has commanded us to do.  Our purpose in this world is to live fruitful lives and to become fruit-bears.

OUR VISION:  is for every person to encounter the supernatural life changing power of Jesus Christ.  This is the gospel I share with you that you may accept it, grab hold of it and take it into the world and share it with others.  I remain your brother in Christ, Pastor Davis/Master Teacher.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS

DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORD THAT CONCEIVED YOUR LIFE?

In the world today we find that people are filled with anxious desires to overcome their present lot in life.  Anxieties are running deep in their veins, being faced with much lack of everything that this world has to offer and in their heart of hearts not being able to have the basics necessaries that God has promised to them that love and believe in the Lord.  Nevertheless, I say to all the people, know that God never makes a promise that he will not fulfill.  Just hold onto God’s unchanging hands and your storehouse will never be bare.  You see, God has provided the world with all the necessaries things for man’s survival in this world.  Remember, there are three basics things that we need for our survival and they are; the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat.  These three basics necessities, God provides them in great abundances’ and they are free and without germs are dieses.

But then you would say, I need a job and without a job how can I have food on my table for me and my family to eat, clothes for my children to wear, money to pay my mortgage and car note, money to keep the lights and gas on in my house, money to send my kids to college and of course your list will go on and on.  It is true, that working on a job and receiving a paycheck is one way of providing you with money to help offset these burdens.  However, do you remember what Jesus teaches us concerning these things with his word, how the world was created with his word, how you and I was conceived with his word? If not, please allow the following passage of scripture to remind you of Jesus’ teaching.

Therefore I tell you, stop being [a]perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing?

Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?

And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the [b]span of his life?

And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field and[c]learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin.

Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his [d]magnificence (excellence, dignity, and grace) was not arrayed like one of these. [I Kings 10:4-7.]

But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and green and tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will He not much more surely clothe you, O you of little faith?

Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, what are we going to have to eat? Or, what are we going to have to drink? Or, what are we going to have to wear?

For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.

But seek ([e]aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness ([f]His way of doing and being right), and then all these things [g]taken together will be given you besides.

So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.  (Matthew 6:25-34 AMP)

You see, in this passage Jesus is trying to bring you into the realization that you are free of all yokes and bondage of man’s rule over you.  It is not man that is going to provide you with the necessities of this life, but it is God who provides all of those who believe.
The first prerequisite of having the great abundances of this life is to be set free.  Your mind has to be free of the bondage that is keeping you from having all the things that you desire in this world.  It is not that man is not providing you with a job to meet your basics needs that is hindering you from having.  It is your own thought process that is keeping you from having; your dependences upon another man to provide you with a job that God has already told you to use your own thought process and you can have anything that you may desire.  Free your mind and be free indeed.  If the Son of God Sets You Free, you must realize the greatest news of all and that is, “You are truly FREE.”  At a time when Jesus was speaking truth to power, this is what he said to the Jews and what he is saying to you and I right here and now, “Then Jesus turned to the Jews who had claimed to believe in him. “If you stick with this, living out what I tell you, you are my disciples for sure. Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will FREE you.” (John 8:31-32 MSG)

These are the words of truth that were birthed in you from the beginning of time.  They are the words that will allow you to create that job that you are concern about in order to be in a position to meet your basic worldly needs.  They are the words that will bring about that change from the old man to the new.  They are the words that you can take to the cashier at your bank, present them with a check with whatever amount you desire at the time and be guaranteed it will be cashed with no questions asked.  You are the ruler of your life, the power given to you by the maker and creator of this world.  No man holds power over you but the one you give to hold such power.  And when you are ready to make the change and your determination is so great that you are willing to do whatever is necessary to be the true ruler of your life, the new person in you will show up and nothing can stop you from rising to take your place in this world of great abundance.

Remember, in the past you have allowed yourself to live in captive, drug down, step on, and the invisible yoke of bondage put around your neck, and the heavy bondage of life worries placed upon your back.  The thief came in the front door and stole all the love and joy away from you.  You were unable to hold onto your job, and therefore all your earthly goods and everything that you had perceived as good was stolen away from you.  Now you are suffering from a lack of determination, no energy and fight left in you to be able to take back what was stolen.  Jesus has warned you that the thief was going to do this.  However, you allowed your mind to set idle, doing nothing good for yourself, becoming a couch potato with the T.V. remote pointing and flicking from channel to channel and the cell phone constantly dialing and gossiping about who is sleeping with who. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORD THAT CONCEIVED YOUR LIFE?

Now listen to the truth of Jesus words as he was warning the people, “Jesus told this simple story, but the people had no idea what he was talking about. So he tried again. “I’ll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep. All those others are up to no good—sheep stealers, every one of them. But the sheep didn’t listen to them. I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for—will freely go in and out, and find pasture. A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.”

“I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd puts the sheep before himself, sacrifices himself if necessary. A hired man is not a real shepherd. The sheep mean nothing to him. He sees a wolf come and runs for it, leaving the sheep to be ravaged and scattered by the wolf. He’s only in it for the money. The sheep don’t matter to him.  (John 10:10-12 MSG).

Your life is worth more to Jesus than a job with the money you will earn to pay your bills.  Jesus is the Good Shepherd.  He is the one that will preserve your mind from the idle thoughts that allows the thief to enter in and still and kill you.  Haven’t you allowed him to do enough damage to you?  DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORD THAT CONCEIVED YOUR LIFE

Now as we conclude this word of truth, it is my hope that this word has stirred up a passion in your soul and given you new life to begin a new way of thinking and living, allow Jesus to have the final word that can make you whole and bring truth and salvation to your soul.  Here then are the words of Jesus.   “Now that you’ve cleaned up your lives by following the truth, love one another as if your lives depended on it. Your new life is not like your old life. Your old birth came from mortal sperm; your new birth comes from God’s living Word. Just think: a life conceived by God himself! That’s why the prophet said,

The old life is a grass life,
its beauty as short-lived as wildflowers;
Grass dries up, flowers droop,
God’s Word goes on and on forever.
This is the Word that conceived the new life in you.  (1 Peter 1:22-25 MSG)

After this Jesus spoke and then gave us the greatest commandment of all, and this is what he said, “And you shall love the Lord your God [a]out of and with your whole heart and out of and with all your soul (your [b]life) and out of and with all your mind (with [c]your faculty of thought and your moral understanding) and out of and with all your strength. [d]This is the first and principal commandment.

The second is like it and is this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these. (Mark 12:30-31 AMP)

Now my brothers and sisters, it is with great joy that I am thrill beyond my own imagination that you have comprehended what has been taught here and you will use it to your benefit to rise above where you are right now to the level God is trying to push you to be.  I urge you to think globally and work locally.  I minister to you today from a position of peace, power, purpose and prosperity because, This is the Word that conceived the new life in you.   I remain your brother in Christ, Pastor Davis/Master Teacher.

UNDERSTANDING THE MYSTERIOUS TRUTHS OF SPIRITUAL LIFE (LESSON 1)

HOW TO BE A SUCCESSFUL GARDNER (LESSON 2)

THE VINE AND BRANCHES THAT PRODUCE MUCH FRUIT GLORIFIES GOD

We live and work in a hostile world.  Everything seems to be against us, and the plans God has set down for all His children.  However, we must not fear because our God is the same today and will be the same tomorrow.  What He has for you is for you and no one can ever take that away.  Although, he clearly tells us that we must abide in Him and He will abide in us.  We must be obedient to the word and stand firm on it, know matter how difficult the situation in the world become.  God is the gardener, the cultivator of the vine and the branches.  In order for the branches to produce much fruit, the branches must remain connected to the vine.  In other words, you must always abide in the vine.

The fruitful branches are true believers.  They abide in the vine.  To abide means to stay where you are as a Christian, Christ has placed you in that position.  In your daily walk, you must stay in an intimate fellowship with the Lord.  A branch abides in a vine by drawing all its life and nourishment from the vine.  So we abide in Christ by spending time in prayer, reading and obeying His Word, fellowshipping with His people, and being continually conscious of our union with Him.  As we thus maintain constant contact with Him, we are conscious of His abiding in us and supplying us with spiritual strength and resources.  The branch can only bear fruit as it abides in the vine.  The only way believers can bear the fruit of a Christ-like character is by living in touch with Christ moment by moment.

Each branch that continues to remain in the vine will produce much fruit.  This fruit could be new converts, or the fruit of the Spirit.  The fruit of the Spirit displayed in our lives should attract people to Jesus and thereby make them new members of God’s vine and branches.

When a believer remains in Christ and Christ’s words remain in him, that person may go to God and ask anything in the name of Jesus and their prayers will be answered.  An essential part of being a disciple requires bearing fruit for the Lord.  And in order to pray for results, a person must remain in Christ.  For when we remain in him, our thoughts and desires conform to his, and we can pray in his name, knowing that our requests please God.  We can then be assured that whatever we ask will be done.

A vine that produces much fruit glorifies God, for daily he sends the sunshine and rain to make the crops grow, and he constantly nurtures each plant and prepares it to blossom.  What a moment of glory for the Lord of the harvest when the harvest is brought into the barns, mature and ready for use.  He made it all happen!  This farming analogy shows how God is glorified when we come into a right relationship with him and begin to “bear much fruit” in our lives.

Abiding is the secret of a successful prayer life.  The closer we get to the Lord, the more we will learn to think His thoughts after Him.  The more we get to know Him through His Word, the more we will understand His will.  The more our will agrees with His, the more we can be sure of having our prayers answered.  When God answer our prayers, we know that we are in the right standing with God.  We become like the tree that is planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither and whatever we do, we shall prosper.  (Psalm 1:3), because God is Glorified.

HOW YOU CAN BECOME A SUCCESSFUL GARDNER (LESSON 1)

Successful gardeners know that pruning, cutting back the branches, increases fruit bearing.  Each spring vinedressers cut back each vine to its rootstock to enhance its fruitfulness.

The new society of God’s people, Christians – originates from Christ and is united to him as branches to a vine.  God is the gardener, the cultivator of the vine and the branches.

Believers are to remain in Jesus, the vine, and he will remain in us.  A vine branch can survive and produce foliage for a while after it has been severed, but it cannot produce fruit unless it is connected to a rootstock.  As Jesus had a living dependence on the Father, so believers in Jesus need to have a living dependence on him.  “Remaining,” for the disciples and for all believers today, means to make a constant, moment-by-moment decision to follow Christ.  In addition, we must not be passive-believers, we must not just sit and “remain” until they die.  Instead, we must be active-we have a lot to do.  We have to learn how to be successful Gardeners’!

30 BILLION A YEAR WOULD ERADICATE WORLD HUNGER

The ENS did a great job reporting about the opening of the High-level Conference on World Food Security: the Challenges of Climate Change and Bioenergy. In my opinion, the most noteworthy part is when Dr. Jacques Diouf, the director of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, pointed out the shameful contrast between what we waste and how relatively little it would take to eradicate world hunger. After pointing out the trillions spent yearly on militarism and the billions of dollars worth of food wasted, Dr. Diouf asked, “How can we explain to people of good sense and good faith that it was not possible to find US$30 billion a year to enable 862 million hungry people to enjoy the most fundamental of human rights: the right to food and thus the right to life?” Resources that could go towards feeding the hungry and eradicating poverty are spent on expensive and needlessly destructive endeavors such as the occupation of Iraq and the war on drugs like marijuana. I could never describe how intensely that upsets me.

www.chrf.org By Erin Fitzgerald Four children of different backgrounds stand in a line clasping hands and smiling. In this carefree scene filled with lush green grass and blooming flowers, these children don’t have to worry about equal opportunities in life. Their futures are shining brightly, and their dreams are well within their grasp. But this perfect society is only an illusion. A dream that 16-year-old Wilda Vasquez Ibanez, a sponsored youth, portrays in her mural titled “Right to Equality.” The reality is much harsher for children in impoverished countries. Here in Guatemala, where Wilda lives, some families can’t even afford to buy nutritional food, let alone help their children pursue an education. Their children’s futures are dim, shadowed by a lack of knowledge and a society where the poor often can’t break free of poverty. Wilda completed her “Right to Equality” painting as part of a contest organized by social organizations. Painting has helped her overcome her shyness, and she hopes to attend college. In the meantime, she wants people to learn from and understand one another through her paintings. “Age, color, gender and race are not important,” Wilda said. “We are all human and should receive the same opportunities.”

Visual messages serve as an important tool of communication in Latin America, where reading isn’t stressed as much as it is in the United States, said Vickie Coromac, Children International’s regional director for Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean. “Some of the adolescents in our program in Latin America found that a good way to reach others was using visual art,” Coromac said. “You retain an image better. It stays in your brain.” While impoverished families may still struggle to find work and send their children to school, sponsorship – and paintings like Wilda’s – give them a reason to dream. Wellington Gonzalez and Astrid Salazar of United International’s Guatemala City project office contributed this report to Children International’s web site.
