Good morning children of God this is truly a blessed day in our lives.

We were awakened this morning and provided with the opportunity of living in the future, with great hopes and the aspirations of achieving greatness in our season. For God shows us things that we may not always understand or even comprehend within our limited thinking, but he gave us this day as a very special holiday to honor, and celebrate the life and legacy of one of the world’s greatest visionaries who had a dream and a vision and dared to live out that dream. That person was none other than the Hon. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

SCRIPTURE: And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by. (Habakkuk 2:2-3 KJV) this is what Dr. King did for us in his day and time, he wrote the vision, and he wrote it upon each one of our hearts, that wherever we are that we may be able to see it, read it, and live it in our day and time.

SCRIPTURE: For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. (Jeremiah 29:11 AMP) and this part of the Scriptures we can see the journey be in birth as God gave it to one of his great prophets, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. followed in the footsteps of this prophet.

We are called into action this day to do our part to keep the dream alive. How each one of us uses this day will bear heavily on our own individual futures. A dream a vision a future is alive in each one of us, what will we do this day to birth it into reality?

There are many people in this world that are living in denial of this legacy and the many great contributions that Dr. King made to this world. Their denial is based on ignorant and stupidity, but Dr. King’s dream will live on in eternity. Because of Dr. King’s dream and a vision he birth hope for a brighter future in the lives of many young people from all around the world, and people of all races creeds, colors, and religious backgrounds were awakened to the reality that they too, would be able to achieve greatness within themselves.

In Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream and vision he followed the pathway of another great servant of God, and asked God to guide his heart and give him understanding on how to lead his people. That’s servant was King Solomon who led the nation of Israel for many generations before the birth of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. King Solomon had a dream and he went before God, and he said to God,” give therefore thy servant and understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? (1 King 3:9 KJV)

We as the CHILDREN OF GOD are all called to dream great dreams, then dare to live out those dreams. We must be about the business of God each and every day, doing his will as we walk in the path of righteousness for his name sake. Yes my brothers and sisters, let us use this day as a day of action, that we as children of God who seek God’s guidance and understanding to live together as one people, not separated by race or the color of our skin, but truly recognize in each other the content of our characters, and live in peace with love in our hearts for one another.

Now may the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, be upon each one of you to walk out your purpose and live in his will and seek his blessings over your life and the lives of all those who come into your presence this day.

In America today, our nation seems to be at a cross road.  We the people elected our individual Representatives from districts in which we live in and sent them to the Nation Capital to join hands with other Representatives from all around the country to become a team of one and lead our Nation in all areas of life as the people’s Representative.  Now we see that theses Representatives have become a body of separative individuals during their own thing with no concern about the people they were elected to represent.

Leadership takes real courage and it takes the strength of ones’ convention to be a bold, strong and courageous leader in difficult times.  Now the question I will ask is simply this, “Where are our elected leaders today?”

I understand that Leadership is hard work, and in order for any leader to lead a great nation such as this one, he are she  must be strong, have a sound moral character, and develop the courage and strength of their conviction to do what’s right and show themselves to be the leader the people deserve.  A great number of today’s business leaders, government leaders as well as our spiritual leaders seem to be morally corrupt and are standing in opposition of what is truly needed in a leader to lead the people out of the wilderness that we now find ourselves in.  Now pause for a moment and watch this short video clip of a true story of courage, compassion and real leadership.

We live in the greatest country on the face of this universe, however, we find ourselves falling behind many smaller nations in the way they are developing their young people to become great leaders in their own right.  Our education system, the system that is designed to develop the leadership that can truly accomplish great task is falling apart due mainly to our current crop of leaders that are lacking in their strength of courage, to properly fund and develop the type of education system that is now needed in times of trials and tribulation to help develop a new generation of leadership.

Real leaders need real courage to make the tough decisions they will faced every day.  They need to stand on the word of God, and stop being like the motion of the ocean, always going back and forth.  They need to learn how to trust and stand on the word of God.  Know in their hearts that God’s word will never fail them.  Learn to believe without any doubt that they can be assured of good success when they fill their hearts and minds with God’s Word and obey it.

Now listen to how God gave his word to his servant Joshua.  He said to Joshua, “Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”  (Joshua 1:9 NIV)  These are the words that every leader or wanted to be leader should study and meditate on day and night.

Let me share with you the true leadership and success of Joshua, God’s Servant as he chose to obey God, trust God, lean and depend on God and God created in him one of the world’s great military leaders of all times.  You too can become a Joshua.

Joshua faced crisis in his leadership role, just like many of the crisis we face in our leadership roles today.  Not only did he have to contend with the military powers rooted in the Promised Land, but he also had to face them with an untrained band of nomadic shepherds.

God realized Joshua’s need for courage and gave him guidance that would strengthen his faith.

First, he reminded Joshua of his faithfulness to keep all of his promises.  God had pledged to give the land to his people and he would fulfill that pledge.  Joshua’s success did not rest on a military strategy or well trained army, but on the faithfulness of God.

Second, God commanded Joshua to meditate on his words that Moses recorded in the five books of the Pentateuch.  The “Book of the Law” would give the wisdom and encouragement Joshua would need to courageously lead the nation.

Third, God promised to be personally present with Joshua.  No matter how intimidating the enemy or how rebellious the people, Joshua would not have to face them alone.  God would always be at his side.

The same sources of courage that empowered Joshua are available today for any leader who will accept them.  When faced with a risky business decision, the godly leader will look to God in prayer and to God’s revealed Word for the perspective and courage needed to make the right choice.  What situation are you now facing that requires courageous leadership and risk taking?  Let God’s words to Joshua supply you with the courage you need.

Now as we conclude this lesson for today, it is our hope that it will ignite the spark needed for you as a leader to be strong and courageous, take the word of God on leadership serious and do what’s right and pleasing in God sight.  We as the children of God and America need strong and courageous leadersLeaders who are willing to put Country first and come boldly before the throne of grace and speak truth to power, be a real leader by developing the strength of courage and the conviction of your character and lead this country in the right direction.

We minister to you today from a position of peace, purpose, power and prosperity.  I remain your brother in CHRIST JESUS, PASTOR DAVIS/MASTER TEACHER!

Today, I speak to you as a woman of GodAnointed by the Holy Spirit and guided by the truth of the

word of our God.  We are all children of God, living as free people in the greatest country in the Universe.  The message I bring to you today is one seeking unity and healing for our nation.  We at Vine and Branch World Ministries congratulate our President and His team for their victory.  Now let the healing of our wombs and spirit begins as we ask the following questions:

Will there come a time when all people; all nations, except the challenge of healing the wombs of its citizens and leading their people in a godly manner and come together as one? Will there ever be a world where we are all seen as brothers and sisters, a world filled with love instead of hate and bigotry? We as a nation has elected our chosen political leaders into office for another four years, let us pray that they uphold the value system upon which this country has been built. Let us be a nation that holds firm the words, “In God We Trust” and strive to get along with each other by laying aside differences that separates us as a nation.

We can see this as a new beginning, a fresh start, a time of renewal and healing working together for “all people”; it is a time of renewed hope, optimism and possibilities. Let us remember to keep God in the equation and pray that our leaders will govern guided by the Holy Spirit. The hand of the Lord is upon this nation and he watches each of us and patiently waits for us to acknowledge him in all things, we must be obedient to his call and the nation will be a recipient of many blessings.

Jehovah is my name, call me and I will answer and show you great and hidden things which you know not (Jeremiah 33:3 KJV).  The Lord declares, “ Call on me, come and pray to me, I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13). I know the plans I have for you plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV).

The call has gone out to all nations (people) will we be obedient?

“The Lord will roar from on high; he will thunder from his holy dwelling and roar mightily against the land. He will shout like those who tread grapes, shout against all who live on the earth. The tumult will resound to the ends of the earth, for the Lord will bring charges against the nations; he will bring judgment on all mankind and put the wicked to the sword, “‘ declares the Lord. This is what the Almighty says: “Look! Disaster is spreading from nation to nation; a mighty storm is rising from the ends of the earth.”(Jeremiah 25: 30-32 NIV).

All kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him. His name shall endure forever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed (Psalm 72: 11, 17 KJV)

This Book, the Holy Book, on every line, marked with the seal of high divinity,

On every leaf bedewed with drops of love Divine, and with eternal heraldry and signature of God Almighty stamped from first to last: this ray of sacred light, this lamp, from off the everlasting throne, mercy took down, and in the night of time stood, casting on the dark her gracious bow; and evermore beseeching men with tears and earnest sighs, to read, believe and live—Pollok.

Let us use this day as a day to pray for the healing of our nation, pray for President Obama and his family, pray for Candidate Mitt Romney and his family and all our leaders.  Allow the Holy Spirit to enter into their present and guide them to do what’s right and pleasing in the sight of God.

We at Vine and Branch World Ministries congratulate our President on his victory in winning a second term as President of the greatest country on this earth, and the leader of the free world.

Today is the first day in the life of every American Citizen to make a change.  You were blessed with awesome powers from the beginning of time.  You may not have always known how to exercise what was given to you, but on this day, that opportunity has presented itself in a very unique way for each of you to stand up, come forth and show the world the great power that God gave you.

The power is in your vote.  It becomes awesome in its nature when you exercise it by casting your ballot

to vote.  A great number of people have already exercised their power including this writer.  If you are an American Citizen that is reading this article, and if you have not voted, let me encourage you to go out and do so.  The polls in your area are open, and you must take advantage of this opportunity right now.  Don’t be a slacker, be a proud American Citizen.  There is no excuse that you can offer, for not using the power God gave you.

Our democracy depends upon each of its citizens being well informed and then doing what’s right in the sight of God by exercising the power God gave them and vote.  Now is the time for each one of us to make a difference and help our country to stir its ship of State onto the right course for the next decade.

Many of our parents have fought and died for our right to vote.  Today, the struggle still continues, and there are those who are fighting just as hard to block our access to the polls, and the right as an American Citizen to use the power God gave to us.  You must not allow that to happen.

Let us not forget, although God gave us power to do what is right, God is still in charge of all that takes place in this country and the universe.  We operate under the authority of God and that includes each one of our leaders.  At some point each one of them will have to answer to God for their actions over their Citizens and the power God placed in their hands.  But on this day, each one of you will determine whose hand you are willing to give the power to rule over the greatest country in the world.  The choice is yours providing you exercise your God given power and vote.

My Maximized Prayeris that God will strengthen your physical body, enlighten your spiritual mind, and

Giving God all the praises for His Marvelous Light (Photo by Pastor Davis)

fill you with the Holy Spirit in such a way that His Marvelous light will shine through  and His glory will be on display in all that you do this day.   You are a child of the King of all Kings, and how you act and what you do when faced with the many challenges that could present themselves when you go out and exercise your right and power to vote is my prayer for God to cover you with His grace and it will protect you from all evil spirits that may come upon you this day.  In the name of Jesus, I pray, AMEN!”

Are you a person of faith?  Do you believe in miracles?  Do you believe in the bible, when the word says, “all things are possible if you believe?”  Do you believe in anything?  For the rest of this day and tomorrow, you now have the opportunity to test your belief system.  God created each one of us in His own image and likes.  He gave us His Character, and He allowed us to live in the greatest country on earth.  What a great joy this is to be given the opportunity to participate in the democracy of the country that God has placed each one of us in.  Our democracy means freedom for all people, and each one of us now have the opportunity to decide on just how we are going to continue to live free and make decisions about our lives that will keep us free and moving forward as a nation.

Over the next 48 hours each one of us will have to look into the mirror and face our other self.  When we do, we will be facing reality of just who we are.  The mirror will not lie, but we can lie to ourselves and deny our real self.  Who is that person that I am looking at in the mirror, and how is that person going to vote?  Not if that person is going to vote, because the choice is crystal clear, that person must vote if that person wants to continue to live free and have the freedom to make his own choices over the next decade.  The choice that this person that I am looking at in this mirror, must make the right choice for the future of himself, his family’s future and the future of his country.  No one else can vote for the person in the mirror, he must get out and vote for himself.

I am a believer, I believe in the magic and integrity of my vote.  Therefore, I am going to step out on faith and make my vote count.  Because all that I have seen and heard, teaches me to trust in God for all that I have not seen.  Nothing or anyone can turn me away from doing what is right for this country.  I believe that God is still in control of all things and the things that I believe in, God will make them possible.

Now in light of the current crisis that our country is facing, from our government being brought to the brink of a shut down, our credit rating being downgraded, one side of our political spectrum advocating getting rid of the safe nets that are set up to take care of the poor and less fortunate among us, and just a few days ago, an earthquake rumbles through the North Eastern part of the United States, and now this weekend that same section of the United States is facing devastation from Hurricane Irene.

As I sit in prayer and meditation seeking God’s guidance on the message for this weekend, many different signals past through my thought process, and all day long the message that I wanted to share with you all, God kept saying no, stay focus on the people and how they are dealing with their fears and the leaders are handling the major task that they have been assigned, which is to take care of my people, help to keep them out of harm’s way.  It wasn’t until after 9 pm tonight that God spoke clearly to me and said the word, ‘COMPASSION,’ and you shall find it in the good news message that My Son delivered to the people in Matthew 9th chapter.

From that point on my eyes were open and the message God wanted me to share with you is now set before you as a precept to guide you in your purpose and move you swiftly towards your destination.  But first I encourage you to watch this video and think deeply on the words and images that it is sending into your mind, then continue to read and study this message of the Lord’s compassion for His people.

IN discussing this subject, I propose-

I. To consider to whom this precept is addressed,

II. What it means;

III. What is implied in the prayer required?

IV. Show that the state of mind which constitutes obedience to this precept is an indispensable condition of salvation.

In order for me to provide you with the foundation of this message so that it may be grounded in truth, this is the scripture that the Lord gave me to share with you, “But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith He unto His disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are fewPray ye, therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest.”-(Matthew 9: 36-38).

I. To whom this precept is addressed, Beyond question, the precept is addressed to all who are under the obligation to be benevolent; therefore, to all classes and all beings upon whom the law of love is imposed. Consequently, it is addressed to all human beings, for all who are human bear moral responsibility — ought to care for the souls of their fellows, and of course fall under the broad sweep of this requisition.

Note the occasion of Christ‘s remark. He was traversing the cities and villages of His country, “teaching in their synagogues and preaching the Gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.” He saw multitudes before Him, mostly in great ignorance of God and salvation; and His deeply compassionate heart was moved,” because He saw them fainting and scattered abroad as sheep without a shepherd.” Alas! they were perishing for lack of the bread of heaven, and who should go and break it to their needy souls?

His feelings were the more affected because He saw that they felt hungry. They not only were famishing for the bread of life, but they seemed to have some consciousness of the fact. They were just then in the condition of a harvest-field, the white grain of which is ready for the sickle, and waits the coming of the reapers. So the multitudes were ready to be gathered into the granary of the great Lord of the harvest. No wonder this sight should touch the deepest compassions of His benevolent heart.

II. What is really intended in the precept, Pray ye the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into His harvest?”

Every precept relating to external conduct has its spirit and also its letter, the letter referring to the external, but the spirit to the internal; yet both involved in real obedience. In the present case, the letter of the precept requires prayer; but let no one suppose that merely using the words of prayer is real obedience. Besides the words there must be a praying state of mind. The precept does not require us to lie and play the hypocrite before God. No one can for a moment suppose this to be the case. Therefore, it must be admitted that the precept requires the spirit of prayer as well as the letter. It requires first in value a praying state of mind, and then also its due expression in the forms of prayer.

What, then, is the true spirit of this precept? answer, love for souls. Certainly it does not require us to pray for men without any heart in our prayer; but that we should pray with a sincere heart, full of real love for human welfare — a love for immortal souls and a deep concern for their salvation. It doubtless requires the same compassion that Jesus Himself had for souls. His heart was gushing with real compassion for dying souls, and He was conscious that His own was a right state of mind. Therefore, He could not do less than require the same state of mind of all His people. Hence, He requires that we should have real and deep compassion for souls, such compassion as really moves the heart, for such most obviously was His.

This involves a Lull committal of the soul to this object. Christ had committed His soul to the great labor of saving men; for this He labored and toiled; for this His heart agonized; for this His life was ready to be offered; therefore, He could do no less than require the same
of His people.

Again, an honest offering of this prayer implies a willingness on our part that God should use us in His harvest-field in any capacity He pleases. When the farmer gathers his harvest, many things are to be done, and often be needs many hands to do them. Some he sends in to cut the grain, others to bind it; some gather into the barn, and others glean the field, that nothing be lost. So Christ will have a variety of labors for His servants in the great harvest-field; and no men can be of real use to Him unless they are willing to work in any department of their Master’s service, thankful for the privilege of doing the humblest service for such a Master and in such a cause.

Hence, it is implied in honest prayer for this object that we are really committed to the work, and that we have given ourselves up most sincerely and entirely to do all we can for Christ and His cause on earth. We are always on hand, ready for any labor or any suffering. For, plainly, if we have not this mind,we need not think to pray for any good purpose. It would be but a sorry and insulting prayer to say, “Lord, send somebody else to do all the hard work, and let me do little or
nothing.” Everybody knows that such a prayer would only affront God and curse the offered.

Hence, sincere prayer for Christ‘s cause implies that you are willing to do anything you can do to promote its interests, in the actual and absolute devotion of all your powers and resources for this object. You may not withhold even your own children. Nothing shall be too dear for you to offer on God‘s altar.

Suppose a man should give nothing — should withhold all his means and suppress all efforts, only he says he will Pray. He professes indeed to pray. But do you suppose that his prayer has any heart in it? Does he mean what he says? Does he love the object more than all things else? Nay, verily. You never could say that a young man does all he can for Christ‘s harvest if he refuses to go into the field to work, nor that an aged, but wealthy, man is doing all he can if he refuses to give anything to help sustain the field-laborers.

This will conclude Lesson One of this very important lesson. Pass this on to your family, friends and business associates, then stop by tomorrow read and study lesson 2 and we will continue with part III titled, “What, then is implied in really obeying this precept?”   Until we meet again, I say to you, think globally and work locally. We minister to you today from a position of peace, purpose, power and prosperity.  I remain your brother in Christ, Pastor Davis/Master Teacher.

The time is now, to begin shedding our racial hatred and prejudice and putting on the whole armor of God’s pure unadulterated love.

Now let us begin this discussion by first sharing with you how the Wikipedia describes this subject matter.  It says “Ethnic hatred, inter-ethnic hatred, racial hatred, or ethnic tension refers to feelings and acts of prejudice and hostility towards an ethnic group in various degrees.  There are multiple origins for ethnic hatred and the resulting ethnic conflicts. In some societies it is rooted in tribalism, while in others it originates from a history of non-peaceful co-existence and the resulting actual disputed issues.”

Often ethnic conflict is enhanced by nationalism and feeling of national superiority. For which reason inter-ethnic hatred borders with racism, and often the two terms are conflated.

On the opposite side, ethnic conflict may stem from the feeling of real or perceived discrimination by another ethnic group,  Ethnic hatred has often been exploited and even fueled by some political leaders to serve their agenda of seeking to consolidate the nation or gain electorate by calling for a united struggle against a common real or imaginary enemy. In many countries incitement to ethnic or racial hatred is a criminal offense.

Here in our own country, we elected a Black Man for the very first time in the history of the United States of America as our President.  He is now facing unprecedented attacks against him for having some African American blood running through his veins even though he is of a mixed raced.  No other President in history has ever had to face the kind of racial prejudice and hatred and insults as this President has had to face.

Writing in The Miami Herald, columnist Leonard Pitts says this about the Tea Party: “Their stated fears — socialism, communism, liberalism — are just proxies for the one fear most of them no longer dare speak … it insults intelligence to deny that race is in the mix.”

Just this past week a well know celebrity named Brigitte Bardot was convicted on Tuesday of provoking discrimination and racial hatred for writing that Muslims are destroying France.  French anti-racism laws prevent inciting hatred and discrimination on racial or religious or racial grounds. Bardot had been convicted four times previously for inciting racial hatred.

Here again is another racial hatred trial that just open, it is the trial of a West Australian man who posted a video on YouTube accusing Judaism of being a “religion of racism, hate, homicide and ethnic cleansing” opened in Perth.  The man named Brendon Lee O’Connell reported is charged with saying these words, “You are a racist, homicidal maniac,” he said, adding that “I will put you in the camps with the rest of them.”

The time has come for us to shed our racial hatred and prejudice for each other and put on God’s whole armor of love.  Whether black or white, those who feel that skin pigmentation is to be ridiculed are doing nothing other than calling God a fool and saying that He did not know what He was doing when He caused people to adapt to environmental changes and develop different color hues.  Probably one of the deepest throes a person can endure is to slowly die a spiritual death and not know it.  Many are there among us who have allowed bigotry and racial prejudice to separate them from the eternal light of God.

No attitude of mind is further from the spirit of Christ than that of racial hatred. No, I am not thinking in terms of degree of sin, I simply mean that racial hatred and prejudices are totally antagonistic to and opposite of the “mind of Christ” that caused Him to give up His equality with God and come to earth for the specific purpose of dying for all men. In this lesson we will look at some thoughts concerning the focus of racial hatred, the root cause of racial hatred, fruits of racial hatred, and conclude by considering racial hatred compared to the spirit of Christ and God-likeness.

Racial hatred focuses on outward appearances rather than the inner man. The first thing a prejudiced person notices is skin color. Perhaps we all, consciously or subconsciously, notice whether the person we just met is white, black, Hispanic or oriental. However, some not only notice skin color but immediately formulate attitudes of acceptance or rejection based solely on one’s color of skin. In the 1800’s and even into the 1900’s many Caucasians believed that black people did not have souls. All blacks were considered at one time to be good only as slaves. Our Supreme Court even concluded that Black people were only considered to be two fifth of a human being.

When God rejected Saul as king over Israel due to his disobedience, He sent Samuel to the household of Jesse to anoint the one He had chosen to become the new king. I Samuel 16:6-7 says that Samuel looked at Eliab and thought, surely the Lord’s anointed is before Him. But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’

Acts 13:22 tells us what God was interested in concerning who would be king over Israel. …I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who will do all My will.God looked into David’s heart and saw a man who had a love for Him and was willing to submit totally to His will. There are so many passages of scripture we could quote to show that God is not concerned with outward appearances but with what is found in men’s hearts. Does God care whether one is black, white, brown or any other color? No, He cares if we are humble, merciful and obedient, “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God (Micah 6:8).

Outward appearances can be deceiving and often have nothing to do with one’s true self. Jesus severely chastised the Pharisees for putting on a show of exterior piety but inwardly they were full of hatred and hypocrisy. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness (Matthew 23:27). Jesus died for all men and His love was expressed toward all men.

It is my conviction that no one can be pleasing to God who bases his acceptance or rejection of others according to outward appearances. Even as racial hatred focuses on outward appearances, it is rooted (finds its origin) in an attitude of superiority. Racial hatred is demonstrated when people refer to someone in terms of derision according to their race or nationality. The account of the Pharisee and the publican who went into the Temple to pray illustrates how hatred for others most often is rooted in an attitude of self-superiority. In Romans 12:3 the apostle Paul warned, “...not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think, but to think so as to have sound judgment..,

Time and again Jesus taught His disciples to not think in terms of personal superiority, but to be humble, willing to serve others. He demonstrated this in the most forceful of ways by washing His own disciples’ feet even though He was the very Son of God. How grieved our Lord must be as He looks upon His people for whom He died and hears them use ugly words of racial hatred. Brethren, be honest with yourself; no one loves God and Jesus Christ who refers to another human being in vile and ugly terms (I John 4:20-21).

Racial hatred produces division rather than unity. At the time Jesus lived among men, the Jews, more specifically the Pharisees, had totally separated themselves from anyone they considered unclean. Thus, they had absolutely nothing to do with the Gentiles. This attitude of prejudice made it difficult to bring about the unity in Christ between Jew and Gentile that God desired. John 17:20-22 contains a portion of Christ’s prayer for unity among believers. We should be impressed with how important unity is to God by the fact this prayer came in the shadow of the cross. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28).

I believe God would have His children work together to show the world by example that true racial equality and racial harmony are to be found only in Jesus Christ. The Constitution and various laws of mankind can be and are well-meaning but will never accomplish racial peace and love as does conversion to Jesus Christ. If we follow in the footsteps of Jesus as we are supposed to (I Peter 2:20-22), we will love all men, showing partiality to none and being prejudiced against no one merely due to race. I once heard a dear sister in Christ say of a black friend, “She’s as white as I am in God’s sight.” I am confident she did not mean the comment to be a racial slur, yet it demonstrates how easily we can have an attitude of racial prejudice.

There is no room in heaven for anyone who hates or considers another inferior simply due to race or skin color. Very little progress has been made in our nation in overcoming racial prejudices, injustices, and hatreds. I pray the Lord’s people will show the way of love for all and equality among all in Jesus Christ. May we never shame His precious name by being guilty of racial hatred.

Now let me close with this final thought for each one of you who have taken the time to read this entire lesson and the many lessons we teach here daily, “Think globally, and work locally. Looking beyond ourselves in the real and on line world, to reach out to others who might be in need, for we all are truly our Brothers Keeper, salvation is FREE for the asking. Take a moment wherever you may be, and ask the Lord to come into your heart. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins, and if you have spoken these few simple words in truth, you are saved, and now have eternal life.

May God continue to bless each one of you? Today I minister to you from a position of peace, power, purpose and prosperity in Jesus name. I remain Pastor Davis/Master Teacher.

The ENS did a great job reporting about the opening of the High-level Conference on World Food Security: the Challenges of Climate Change and Bioenergy. In my opinion, the most noteworthy part is when Dr. Jacques Diouf, the director of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, pointed out the shameful contrast between what we waste and how relatively little it would take to eradicate world hunger. After pointing out the trillions spent yearly on militarism and the billions of dollars worth of food wasted, Dr. Diouf asked, “How can we explain to people of good sense and good faith that it was not possible to find US$30 billion a year to enable 862 million hungry people to enjoy the most fundamental of human rights: the right to food and thus the right to life?” Resources that could go towards feeding the hungry and eradicating poverty are spent on expensive and needlessly destructive endeavors such as the occupation of Iraq and the war on drugs like marijuana. I could never describe how intensely that upsets me.

www.chrf.org By Erin Fitzgerald Four children of different backgrounds stand in a line clasping hands and smiling. In this carefree scene filled with lush green grass and blooming flowers, these children don’t have to worry about equal opportunities in life. Their futures are shining brightly, and their dreams are well within their grasp. But this perfect society is only an illusion. A dream that 16-year-old Wilda Vasquez Ibanez, a sponsored youth, portrays in her mural titled “Right to Equality.” The reality is much harsher for children in impoverished countries. Here in Guatemala, where Wilda lives, some families can’t even afford to buy nutritional food, let alone help their children pursue an education. Their children’s futures are dim, shadowed by a lack of knowledge and a society where the poor often can’t break free of poverty. Wilda completed her “Right to Equality” painting as part of a contest organized by social organizations. Painting has helped her overcome her shyness, and she hopes to attend college. In the meantime, she wants people to learn from and understand one another through her paintings. “Age, color, gender and race are not important,” Wilda said. “We are all human and should receive the same opportunities.”

Visual messages serve as an important tool of communication in Latin America, where reading isn’t stressed as much as it is in the United States, said Vickie Coromac, Children International’s regional director for Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean. “Some of the adolescents in our program in Latin America found that a good way to reach others was using visual art,” Coromac said. “You retain an image better. It stays in your brain.” While impoverished families may still struggle to find work and send their children to school, sponsorship – and paintings like Wilda’s – give them a reason to dream. Wellington Gonzalez and Astrid Salazar of United International’s Guatemala City project office contributed this report to Children International’s web site.

Can We Overcome Race Hatred And Do What’s Right?

We truly have come a very long ways in America.  Today we have one party who has chosen for the very first time in history, a Black Man for their Presidential Nominee, and another who has chosen the first woman for it’s vice presidential nominee. Great leaps for mankind as we have reached for a new dimension in governing the free world.

What an opportunity there is for the Churches of the World to prove the power of God’s love to change race-hatred into brotherly love?  The question now is, will they do it?  Will the leaders that God has chosen to lead His people begin to preach brotherly love to their followers to show that we all are truly created equally in the kingdom of God, or will they continue to allow the color of a person skin and gender to divide us?

Titus 3:3 reminds us that, “we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.”  We all have fallen short of God’s glory, but as believers we are suppose to treat others the way God in His grace has treated us.  A born again Christian is supposed to be able to put away his hatred, envy and evil thinking of his brother or sister, and love each other as God has loved all of us.

Let’s examine this text for a minute, because it paints a dark picture of the state of our human nature.  What causes such a sad condition?  The answer is “Adam’s fall.”  Think for a moment just how Cain, the first child born of the man God created, shed the blood of his brother Abel.  The first child born on earth came under the power of the devil, who “was a murderer from the beginning, a liar and the father of lies.  (John 8:44)  Because of the evil Satan perpetrated upon Adam and Eve we have allowed that evil to continue to be a part of our lives today.

Humanity’s love of their own people, implanted in their hearts by nature, soon changed to hatred of other peoples.  Love of country became the source of race-hatred and bloodshed.  Note how God has placed the races side by side to see if our Christianity will enable us to overcome race-hatred.  Will we, in the power of Christ’s love, prove that “In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, black or white, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free.  Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us” (Colossians 3:11)?

How wonderful it would be if at this moment in history, we could put away our race hatred and gender bias and do what’s right, love one another as Christ has so loved us, and if our Churches and Church leaders could be an example of Christ’s love for all mankind.
