How to experience Humility as a way of Life

How to experience Humility as a way of Life

THE TOWER OF STRENGTH (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

THE TOWER OF STRENGTH (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, do you really understand who you are when you look into the mirror and see that face looking back at you?  Do you ever ask the question, Oh God, who am I?  What I want you to understand in this lesson and the many lessons we teach here is How Humility works to bring you into the knowledge and power of  just who you are, who God is, and who you are in God.  Re-read and comprehend this last statement because it holds more power than an atom bomb.

The reward for HUMILITY and fear of the LORD is RICHES and HONOR and LIFE. (Proverbs 22:4 ESV) Now I ask you, how many of you do not want to experience these blessings in your life. God is teaching us how to live as that new person in this season and experience a true abundant lifestyle, BY LEARNING HOW TO EXPERIENCE HUMILITY AS A WAY OF LIFE!

In this, we are given a choice, we can befriend God are we can befriend the world. Some of us may say that we will befriend both God and the world, but in practice, we can only choose one way. The more we give ourselves to the world, the stronger will be our allegiance to the world. The more we give ourselves to God, the stronger will be our bond with him. This is what Jesus says, “Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be. (Matthew 6:21)

We have to remember, that we can find strength in the Lord, to live a humble lifestyle and receive all the lords abundant BLESSINGS. Although the world may consider us weak, when we show HUMILITY, this is because the world wants us to be filled with pride, and God sets himself against the proud, because pride makes us self-centered and leads us to conclude that we deserve all we can see, touch, or imagine. It creates greedy appetites far more than we need. Pride can subtly cause us to no longer see our sins or our need for forgiveness.

But remember this one great truth, HUMILITY opens the way for God’s grace to flow into our lives; thus, God shows favor to the HUMBLE.

Do not get so caught up in the ways of the world and the people that surrounds you, that you lose sight of who you are, who God is, who you are in God, that your heart becomes so hearten that you cannot HUMBLE yourselves in the presence of the Lord.

Understand this fact, “HUMILITY is not weakness; instead, it is the only place that believers gain courage to face all their temptations and sins with God’s strength.” As God gives us more grace, we realize that this world’s seductive attractions are only cheap substitutes for what God has to offer. It is our choice we can HUMBLE ourselves and receive God’s grace, or we can continue in our pride and self-sufficiency and experience his anger.

Now let me conclude this by leaving you with these two questions; (1). How do we, so prone to pride at the very moment when we think we might be approaching humility, discover true humility? (2). How do we become the kind of humble people who find the overflowing grace that God promises?

Well, listen to how Scripture teaches us to do it; “Let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet.” (James 4:7-10 MSG)

May the grace of God fill your lives with His overflowing blessings, and bring you much joy and peace now and forever, in Jesus name, AMEN!

FAITH BRINGS ABOUT REWARDS

FAITH BRINGS ABOUT REWARDS TO ENDURE THE RACE:

PINK ROSE PHOTO BY SHIRLEY RHODES

PINK ROSE PHOTO BY SHIRLEY RHODES

WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES:

FAITH and TRUST IS: A perfected combination for Christian growth. The question is do you really trust God if not are you able to say why?  The following virtues should help in understanding just how much power lies within your physical body powered by the spiritual.

Endurance:

Endurance requires determination to follow the plan Jesus laid out for each of you before he departed this earthly realm. His care, compassion and concern were that each of you listen carefully and be obedient to his call on your life. Therefore, in this world you are encouraged to lay aside every weight and sin which so easily ensnares us and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us looking unto Jesus…who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross…consider him who endured hostility…lest you become weary and discouraged… (Hebrews 12: 1-7; NKJV).

Patience:

We all experience moments in life that patience is a virtue we must tap into. Patience usually brings you to that place you’ve discovered that life does not go according to “your” plans, but in all actuality according to the plan of God. It is here we become frustrated, impatient, and sometimes even angry due to lack of patience. What you must remember is that patience is what Jesus displayed in dealing with this world and those who challenged him, we are no different. When you are able to come to the mindset that godliness and contentment is great gain…pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on to eternal life to which you are called… (1Timothy: 6:6-11). Therefore my friends, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience; but let patience have its perfect work that you may be perfect and complete (James 1:2-4).

Humility:

Meekness, absence of self, overcoming pride, arrogance

When you become self –absorbed, you become blinded to the needs of others. What is most important in this Christian walk is that you must remember, it’s not about you, but about the lives you touch in such a way change is experienced. We are all a part of something greater than we are as mere humans, so grab hold of the source of power that leads you to heights you’ve never experienced. Take on the attitude of “love” for one another while understanding that the Holy Spirit is directing your every move, thought and action. There is no greater joy to reach for or to become a part of because the scriptures reminds you, that “greater is he that’s in you than he that is in the world.”

Strength:

Your strength to overcome, endure and run the race lies in your relationship with God who inspires hope through faith and grace. God is salvation, refuge, helper, and mighty in power for those who chose to follow his plan; all things come from him, we are his instruments and can live life in expectancy for a greater day. The Lord is my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27: 1-2)

When troubles come remember that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1)

He gives power to the weak, and those who have no might he increases strength. Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength (Isiah 40: 29-31)

Strengthen your brother (Luke 22:32)

Integrity:

Reading through scripture opens the mind to all avenues of this earthly life; therefore, you are encouraged to seek knowledge and understanding that will guide you to and through your purpose. Titus chapter 2 describes character and how to encourage as well as apply those principles to ones’ own life journey.  As for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine (Titus 2: 1; NKJV). First addressed: guide older men in virtues as temperance, dignity, wisdom, faith, love and endurance. They are in return to guide younger men to live discipline lives; build up their courage; discipline them if they get out of line; do this your- self and lead by example.

As for older women, they should be reverence, non-gossipers, nor drunkards but models pf goodness. They are to teach young women to love their husbands and children; be virtuous and pure; keep a good house and be good wives. The older women are to lead by example as well.

You may ask the question why?

Demonstrating how to turn their backs on a godless indulgent life and how to take on a God filled, God honoring life, for the glorious day when our great God and Savior Jesus Christ appear; he offered himself as a sacrifice to free you. Your have a hope in knowing that whatever comes you will experience growth that often come when least expected.

WEDNESDAY INSPIRATIONAL AND MOTIVATIONAL SERVICE 009 POWER TO OVERCOME

WEDNESDAY INSPIRATIONAL AND MOTIVATIONAL SERVICE 009 POWER TO OVERCOME

Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]. (Romans 12:2 AMP)

BE AN OVERCOMER and value yourself because God sees value in you; therefore, be diligent in service with a willingness to work for what you need. When you’re moving forth in your purpose, he has promised to supply what you need to accomplish your goals. You are encouraged to be anxious for nothing but in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God (Philippians 4:6). Again I say, God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory and by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

OVERCOMING LIFE’S MANY OBSTACLES

ANCHOR YOURSELF IN GOD’S PROMISE:

WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES:

BE AN OVERCOMER:

Don’t allow worry to be the choice for your life, the decisions you make and the goals you inspire to reach. For Jesus says, “Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in me (John 14:1; NKJV). With all of your passion, suffering and tears learn to release and trust God for all your needs.

BE AN OVERCOMER by developing faith and waiting on God. Make a decision to get to know him personally because he lives within you. While you’re aiming for perfection, set spiritual goals, see opportunity and then the obstacles. Become a faith warrior and decide that living as such brings you into the presence of God because you depend on him, he will supply you with all substances necessary for a life well lived.

BE AN OVERCOMER by not being careless, apathetic and indifferent; learn the meaning of living in a calm state. In choosing to do so you will make better decision and choices. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God (2Corinthians 3:5).

Today if you find yourself struggling with situations that seems far reached remember this, worry will not change your situation. Determine to accept where you are and keep moving towards your goal because life is filled with possibilities, BE AN OVERCOMER.

LIVING FOR CHRIST TRUTH MEETS REALITY

LIVING FOR CHRIST TRUTH MEETS REALITY

WHEN TRUTH AND REALITY MEETS (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

WHEN TRUTH AND REALITY MEETS (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

This week we will be studying Romans 12:1-2, learning how we can live for Christ when Truth meets Reality.  The Bible tells us to know the Truth and the Truth will set us Free.  How we get to that truth will be the basics of our teaching this week.  Here is what Romans 12:1-2 says, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.  This is the reality of the truth we must come to know if we are to live for Christ.

Now let me share this truth with you as we begin this week in the newness of the Holy Spirit working through us.  There is but one religion, and that religion is the religion of Truth.  There is also but one error, and that error is of self.  Sometimes we allow self to get in the way of Truth.  Where self is, we will not find Truth, where Truth is self is not.  Therefore, let us discover Truth within ourselves about ourselves and move self out of the way and learn to live each day for Christ.  Jesus declared that if any man wishes to be His Disciple, he must deny himself daily.

Finally, let us learn that self is the denial of Truth.  Truth is the denial of self.  As you let self die, you will be reborn in Truth.  As you cling to self, truth will be hidden from you.  Now know this,  “LIVING FOR CHRIST TRUTH WILL MEET REALITY!

GOD IS THE LIGHT OF THE UNIVERSE

As we begin this study of Living in the light as light, we begin with two precepts.  First we begin with light as the substance that illuminates the world.  Second we come into the knowledge and understanding as to whom and what this substance that illuminates the world is.  In this study we will use pictures and video clips to help us take you into a deeper and more profound understanding of who God is, who we are and who we are in God.  So as you explore this subject “GOD AS THE LIGHT OF THE UNIVERSE”  pause and meditate on what is being conceived in your mind. Now allow your mind to take you deep into the mind of God as He created you in His image to be a reflector of this light.  Click on this video clip and let us begin our studies.Let me give you a working definition of the word light; it is something that makes things visible are affords illuminations.  In Physics it is also called, luminous energy, radiant energy.electromagnetic radiation to which the organs of sight react, ranging in wavelength from about 400 to 700 nm and propagated at a speed of 186,282 mi./sec (299,972 km/sec), considered variously as a wave, corpuscular, or quantum phenomenon.

Please be encouraged to click on the link below for a complete detail study of this subject matter and leave your comments. Thank you and may the Lord bless you abundantly.

WHEN LIFE CHANGE

YOUR LIFE IS ALWAYS A WORK IN PROGRESS

WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES

Life is an evolutionary process and how you process the flow comes through strength and obedience to endure events in time as they unfold. You may find that your way of dealing with and processing information is not necessarily a need to impress others, but to be pleasing in the sight of God. You may at some moment in time find yourself wounded by the very “things” or “people” you placed your hope in and then experience disappointment. Be sure of one thing, it is God’s hand that catches the falling soul; he casts it to the wind and commands it to fly again (that’s complete control).

You need to know about the masterful plan of God, how he has planned your life; after all, it is he who birthed you into existence, He gave you all you will ever need to maneuver the straights of life’s ever unfolding events. He is able to lift you above life’s circumstances, he is strong and mighty, “no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17; NKJV), because you are his creation the devil has no say. “For weapons of warfare are not carnal but mighty in God pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (1 Corinthians: 10: 4-6).”

Jesus is our rest, hope and peace, for we are saved by grace through faith not by our works, the good things we do (Ephesians: 2: 8, 9; NKJV). He has paid the price of redemption for all who choose to accept him as their life giving spirit, a spirit no mortal man can give. Therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans: 5:1).

So when you come face to face with life change; remember that “when life is heavy and hard to take, go off by yourself, enter the silence; bow in prayer, don’t ask questions wait for hope to appear (Lamentation: 3: 28-30; MGS).”

Most Holy and all wise God, our Heavenly Father, In the name of Jesus, the name that stands high above all other names, I lift you up in praise and honor this day for your mighty works and awesome power of love, giving freely of yourself that a dying world living in sin and dishonoring all that you have provided for us through the gift of Jesus Christ may live on through all eternity.  Father, how many ways can I say thank you, how many ways can I teach your children how to say thank you?  Sometimes in my spirit I feel lost for words when I think of all the suffering that your son Jesus had to endure for my sins and the sins of this world. I thank you Heavenly Father for allowing each of us to experience the reality of being a part of the resurrection this Easter Sunday Morning. My heart, and I am sure so many of your children’s hearts are heavy this morning, but as we come into the full knowledge and power of the truth of the wonderful teaching of Jesus Christ when he told us, that if you tear this house down, he would rebuild it in three days, this is the third day and he was truthful to his word when he rose up out of that tomb and this day, we as believers can truly say, Jesus is alive and He lives in us.  Thank you Father, for your marvelous gift of love to the world, for you are worthy to be praised, in Jesus name, Amen!

IN THE RESURRECTION MARY MAGDALENE WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO SEE JESUS

IN THE RESURRECTION MARY MAGDALENE WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO SEE JESUS

Jesus resurrected and Mary Magdalene

Jesus resurrected and Mary Magdalene (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Jesus was born of a woman, and in the resurrection it was a woman who Jesus first showed himself too.  This woman was one who loved Jesus very much.  Her name was Mary MagdaleneWe see Jesus humility in his resurrection, as well as in his crucifixionJesus did not rise and then march into the Temple to confront the religious leaders or Caiaphas; he did not dash to the Praetorium to say to Pilate, “I told you so!”; he did not go stand in the center of Jerusalem to impress the crowd.  Instead, Jesus revealed himself only to believers.  The first person to see him was a woman who had been healed and forgiven and who tearfully stayed at the cross and followed his body to the tomb.  As Jesus demonstrated throughout his life, he responded to those who waited attentively and faithfully.  Jesus dissolved the perplexities of the disciples.  He dried their tears.  He dispelled their doubts.  Jesus knows how similar we are to his original disciples, and he does not overpower us either.  Even though our faithfulness wavers, Jesus faithfully stays with us.

How did Mary become the first person to see Jesus?  Mary apparently followed Peter and John back to the tomb.  When the two disciples left, she was there alone, still crying, still hoping that somehow she could discover where Jesus’ body had been taken, but fearing the worst.  Then she saw two white-robed angels.  The angels actually looked like humans-not beings with halos and wings.  The angels had appeared to the women and then sent them to spread the good news that Jesus was alive, but apparently they were not in the tomb when Peter and John arrived.  Yet they are here again to speak to Mary.

They said to her, “Woman, why do you weep?”  Under normal circumstances this would seem to be an odd question.  People might be expected to be crying beside the tomb of a loved one.  However, the angels knew why the tomb was empty.  They also knew that if these people had listened to Jesus words about his resurrection while he was alive, they would not be sad and confused; instead, they would be leaping for joy.  So the angels question was not odd, but obvious.  It was not meant as a rebuke, but as a reminder of heaven’s perspective.  Mary simply answered the angels question with her fears, “They took my Master,” she said, “and I don’t know where they put him.” After she said this, she turned away and saw Jesus standing there. But she didn’t recognize him.

Jesus spoke to her, “Woman, why do you weep? Who are you looking for?”

She, thinking that he was the gardener, said, “Mister, if you took him, tell me where you put him so I can care for him.”

Jesus said, “Mary.” Suddenly, to her amazement, she stood face to face with her living Lord.  Jesus spoke her name, and immediately she recognized him.  Imagine the love that flooded Mary’s heart when she heard her Savior saying her name!

Turning to face him, she said in Hebrew, “Rabboni!” meaning “Teacher!”  Mary’s immediate response was to touch Jesus and cling to him.  But Jesus stopped her.

Jesus said, “Don’t cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I ascend to my Father and your Father, my God and your God.'”

Mary Magdalene went, telling the news to the disciples: “I saw the Master!” And she told them everything he said to her.  “John 20:11-18 The Message (MSG)

Jesus sent Mary Magdalene to them with the first post-resurrection testimony.  Though it may be that Mary was formerly a woman of ill-repute, this did not keep Jesus from commissioning her to bring the gospel message to the apostles.  Mary was well qualified to be the messenger that Jesus chose to do the work of the Kingdom.  Today, women are in leading roles that have been chosen for them by our resurrected Lord.  It is time that all of us recognize their roles and let the work that Mary Magdalene was doing be an example of how the women of the world have been called by Jesus.

We have ministered this EASTER MESSAGE to you today from the THRONE of GRACE.  I leave you with My Hope that you have had the opportunity to experience the abundance of Jesus love, strength and patience that He shared with all of us this EASTER WEEKEND.  In JESUS CHRIST, I remain your brother PASTOR DAVIS/MASTER TEACHER!

May each one of you receive a special blessing that is filled with an abundance of peace, love and joy this weekend.  Come back for our Easter Resurrection Praise and Worship Service which I will be preaching beginning at 0400.  The subject of our Resurrection message will be, “I BELIEVE!”

GOOD FRIDAY IS OUR HOLY DAY FOR REFLECTION

GOOD FRIDAY OUR HOLY DAY FOR REFLECTION

Today, we as Christians celebrate this day as Good Friday; It is truly OUR HOLY DAY FOR REFLECTION.  For many farmers it is the day for planting their seeds for fruit bearing.  It is truly a very unusual day when you think deeply upon it.  And of course yes, we will ask the question, what is Good Friday?  Good Friday is observed on the Friday before Easter Sunday. On this day Christians commemorate the passion, or suffering, and death on the cross of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Pastor Davis is spending theses moments before God in prayer, meditation and deep reflections on the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ

Pastor Davis is spending theses moments before God in prayer, meditation and deep reflections on the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

How will you spend your GOOD FRIDAY?

We at VINE AND BRANCH WORLD MINISTRIES along with millions of BELIEVERS from all around the world will observe this day as a day of REFLECTION.  Reflecting on the life, death and resurrection of JESUS CHRIST as well as our own individual lives.  Let us pause and meditate on the life and death of Jesus as we experience the pain and anguish that Jesus felt as He hung on the Cross and bore our sins and the sins of the World.   Now let us watch this short Video Clip and reflect upon what this day really means to us.

As Jesus hung there on the cross, nails in his hands, feet and side.  Thrones on his head, bleeding from head to toe, he was teaching us the lessons of LOVE, COURAGE, PATIENCE, UNDERSTANDING, FAITH, and FORGIVENESS.  He showed us that Strength is made perfect in weakness.  This next video clip is a short version of all that Jesus did for us.  Now reflect upon this.

In closing, let me make this one thing very clear, and that is this, “we are citizens of a city of God which we did not build and can never destroy, and that city stands on this day taller than anything that we can ever image in our small minds.”   Before His death, Jesus told us that if this temple was ever destroyed, he would rise up and rebuild it within three days.  No one at the time could imagine what He was talking about, because of the resurrection of CHRIST, we now live in that city of God that no man can destroy.  On this GOOD FRIDAY, let us reflect upon what Jesus did for us, and now what we can do for others.  This video clip will help take you to that special place that allows your heart to be filled with peace, joy, and love. Now watch and pray.

This is our day of PRAYER, MEDITATION AND REFLECTION, let us pray for each other, then reach out and express our love for each other.  I pray for you and you pray for me.  I remain your brother in JESUS CHRIST, PASTOR DAVIS/MASTER TEACHER!

WHO PREPARED THE PASSOVER MEAL IN THE UPPER ROOM?

WHO PREPARED THE PASSOVER MEAL IN THE UPPER ROOM?

 (Mark 14:12-17 Amplified Bible

Today is Maundy Thursday and it commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles.  It is the day before Good Friday, and it is the lesser known days of the Christian calendar.  On this day, Christians remember the Last Supper. During the meal Jesus took bread and wine and shared them with his disciples.

DINNER IN THE UPPER ROOM (Photo by PASTOR DAVIS/MASTER TEACHER)

However, In order for the Passover meal, [THE LAST SUPPER] to be ready when Jesus and HIS DISCIPLES arrived and ready to be served and eaten, someone had to have knowledge of the this moment and gotten things ready for an event that not one of the disciples knew of.  Who was that someone and how did they get the word to get things ready for this historical event?  Here is an opportunity for each of you as Bible Scholars to put on your thinking hats, dig deep into the scriptures and come up with some concrete answers.  We encourage each of you to share your thoughts and research with all of us here on this WORLD STAGE.

Now listen to how Jesus set the stage for this historical moment to unfold in a moment and time that the world will never forget.  It begins, 12On the first day [of the Feast] of Unleavened Bread, when [as was customary] they killed the Passover lamb, [Jesus'] disciples said to Him, Where do You wish us to go [and] prepare the Passover [supper] for You to eat?  13And He sent two of His disciples and said to them, Go into the city, and a man carrying an [earthen] jar or pitcher of water will meet you; follow him.  In this case Jesus sent Peter and John (Luke 22:8).   14And whatever [house] he enters, say to the master of the house, The Teacher says: Where is My guest room, where I may eat the Passover [supper] with My disciples?  15And he will [himself] show you a large upper room, furnished [with carpets and with dining couches properly spread] and ready; there prepare for us.  In this case we do not know whether Jesus had supernatural knowledge in this instance or if he had made arrangements in advance is unclear (as in the incident with his Triumphal Entry.  It seems that in this instance this room had been reserved previously and kept secret, none of the disciples knew where they would eat this meal.

However, Jesus already knew that Judas would be looking for an opportunity to betray him without crowds around, so Jesus may have made these arrangements and kept them secret.

16Then the disciples set out and came to the city and found [everything] just as He had told them; and they prepared the Passover.  The house where the Passover meal was to be eaten probably was one of Jesus followers, because he knew exactly who the Teacher was and probably knew the disciples by sight.  Tradition says this may have been Mark’s home so this would have been Mark’s father.  Many homes had upstairs rooms large enough to accommodate Jesus and his twelve disciples.  As before, when two disciples went to get the donkey for Jesus to ride into Jerusalem, these two disciples found everything just as Jesus had said.  The preparations for the Passover would have included setting the table, buying and roasting the Passover lamb, making the unleavened bread, sauces, and other ceremonial food and drink that were a traditional part of every Passover meal.

Now that all the special ingredients have been gather into one place, the killing and roasting of the lamb is complete, who do you think it was that prepared this historical meal, and how would they know the time in which to have everything ready?  Now click on this video clip and let us pray together!

We encourage you to think deeply upon this matter and share your thoughts in our comment section.  We minister to you on this MAUNDY THURSDAY from a position of PEACE, POWER, PURPOSE and PROSPERITY.  I remain your brother in JESUS CHRIST, PASTOR DAVIS/MASTER TEACHER!

THE CROSS WAS THE WAY BACK TO THE KINGDOM

THE CROSS WAS THE WAY BACK TO THE KINGDOM (MARK 15:25-27)

The King of the Jews Crucifixion (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

And it was the third hour (about nine o’clock in the morning) when they crucified Him.  And the inscription of the accusation against Him was written above,

The King of the Jews.

And with Him they crucified two robbers, one on [His] right hand and one on His left.  And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, He was counted among the transgressors.

Jesus was placed on the cross at nine o’clock in the morning.  A signboard stating as a warning.  Because Jesus was never found guilty, the only accusation placed on his sign was the “crime” of calling himself King of the Jews.  This sign was meant to be ironic.  A king, stripped and executed in public view, had obviously lost his kingdom forever.  But Jesus, who turns the world’s wisdom upside down, was just coming into his kingdom.  His death and resurrection would strike the deathblow to Satan’s rule and would establish Christ’s eternal authority over the earth.  Few people reading the sign that bleak day understood its real meaning but the sign was absolutely true.  Jesus is king of the Jews, and the Gentiles, and the whole universe.

When James and John had asked Jesus for the places of honor next to him in his kingdom, Jesus had told them that they did not know what they were asking (Mark 10:35-39).  Here, as Jesus was preparing to inaugurate his kingdom through his death, the places on his right and on his left were taken by two criminals.

A person who wants to be close to Jesus must be prepared to suffer and die as he himself was doing.  The way to the kingdom is the way of the cross.  If we want the glory of the kingdom, we must be willing to be united with the crucified Christ.

IS GOD REALLY WHITE?

IS GOD REALLY WHITE? This is a question that one of our readers asked me this morning in response to our lesson yesterday title: “SIMON OF CYRENE WAS THE BLACK HANDS THAT HELP CARRY THE CROSS.” You can read his questions and my answers to his questions under the comment section at the bottom of this lesson.  Click this link and stroll down to the bottom of the page:  http://wp.me/pf75v-33x

THE SPIRIT OF GOD IS IN ALL THINGS (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

THE SPIRIT OF GOD IS IN ALL THINGS (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

My friend, your question that you asked this morning, “Is God really White is in truth a really simple to answer.  However, I will not just give you a simplicity answer.  I will begin by answering it this way.  God is neither White nor Black; God is spirit.  We worship God in truth and in Spirit, because God is all there is.  God is everything and everything is God.  Before the world was created, God existed and He created everything out of Himself.  There is nothing are no where God is not.  Therefore, the beautiful colors that we all are, God created them all to represent himself in his beautiful natural self.  The bible says in Genesis 1:27 that God created us in His own image and likeness.   Therefore, what color are we?  Did God not create the rainbow?  Does not the rainbow have many different colors?  Since we all are Gods’ children, do we not represent the rainbow of the Universe?

Your next question would probably be, what about Jesus, is  Jesus himself God, was He not a white man with long stringy hair and blue eyes?  Well that is the image that the white man in America has created to represent Jesus.  That is not the real Jesus who is the son of God and who is our Lord and Savior.  There is nowhere in the New Testament that includes a physical description of Jesus before His death.  That being the case, how can we come up with a picture of Jesus being a white man with blue eyes?  I am a black man and I have blue eyes.   Various theories about the race of Jesus has been advanced and debated for centuries, but there is no clear evidence of what color is Jesus.  The one thing that we can say for certain is that Jesus is God and He has said so Himself and God is neither white nor Black.

The Prophet Isaiah spoke of Jesus some 700 years before Jesus came to earth.  This is what he said, “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God.”  (Isaiah 44:6 AMP)

In the book of John the bible says this, “In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  (John 1:1 AMP)  Then in verse 14, John further says, “And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth.” When we move to the book of Revelations the bible says this:  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord God, He Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty (the Ruler of all).  (Revelation 1:8 AMP) During His time here on this earth Jesus said many things about Himself here are a few:

  1. I am Divine
  2. I am the son of man
  3. I am Alpha and Omega
  4. I am the light of the world

Wow, think about that last one, “I am the light of the world!”  What color is light?  Nobody knows the race are color of Jesus, but what we do know is that his message is about God and love, that makes his race and the color of his skin irrelevant. Our calling is to love God with all our being and be conformed to the image of Christ.  He came here to teach us how to live, love and be obedient to the word of God and offer us eternal life.  He was beaten and suffered a horrific death on the cross for our sins that is all the people of the world, not just white people, or black people nor any other race of people.  He did this for all of us and in this day and time, we should be living as one people, being of the same mind as Jesus had, when he said let this mind that is in me be also in you. (Philippians 2:5). Let us celebrate this Easter with the love of Christ in our hearts, and think not of his color or even our own skin color, but love each other, because God first loved us and he has commanded that we love each other.

NICODEMUS QUESTION JESUS ON HOW A PERSON CAN BE BORN AGAIN

NICODEMUS QUESTION JESUS ON HOW A PERSON CAN BE BORN AGAIN

Good Morning my brothers and sisters, today we continue our teaching on Nicodemus visit with Jesus in the cover of dark and as a teacher finds himself being taught by the Master Teacher. I love this story and I hope you do also.  Now listen up as the truth speaks to your soul.

Nicodemus as a teacher in his own right found himself in an odd position of being taught when he asked Jesus this question: “How can anyone,” said Nicodemus, “Be born who has already been born and grown up? You can’t re-enter your mother’s womb and be born again. What are you saying with this ‘born-from-above’ talk?”  By his own lack of knowledge, Nicodemus was now in for a rude awaken, and Jesus was about to teach him and all of us a lesson in how to be born again that neither he nor we would ever soon forget.

Now as we have studied the scriptures and heard many sermons preached that Jesus was known for his skills as a Master Teacher, and of course Nicodemus was a respected teacher of IsraelNicodemus was part of a group whose prestige had suffered the most because of Jesus popularity.  The Pharisees were the conservatives in Israel.  They held all the Scriptures in high regard.  They believed in eternal life.  They were the ones most people thought would be able to identify the long-awaited Messiah and announce Him to the people.

Unfortunately, the Pharisees had begun to think of the coming Messiah as one who would elevate and honor them when He came.  But Jesus showed no inclination to do this.  Instead, He called all to repentance, even the Pharisees.  He made it painfully clear to the Pharisees that their devotion to Scripture was undermined by their tendency to apply it wrongly and to exalt themselves over others.  Although they had diligently studied the Scriptures, they had not learned the central truths of Scripture: Justice, mercy, and faith (Matt. 23:23).

In this lesson, we understand that Jesus and Nicodemus had a private conversation late one night.  We do not know whether Nicodemus had an appointment.  We do not know what he wanted to say.  Nicodemus came to Jesus, but Jesus guided the conversation from the start.  In effect, Nicodemus took a step in the right direction, and Jesus met him more than halfway.

Nicodemus said to Jesus, “Rabbi, we all know you’re a teacher straight from God. No one could do all the God-pointing, God-revealing acts you do if God weren’t in on it.”

Jesus said, “You’re absolutely right. Take it from me: Unless a person is born from above, it’s not possible to see what I’m pointing to—to God’s kingdom.”  If Nicodemus purpose was to find out for himself whether Jesus was really a teacher from God, he did not have to wait long.  Instead of defending His own credentials, Jesus offered Nicodemus an eternal lesson.

How can anyone,” said Nicodemus, “be born who has already been born and grown up? You can’t re-enter your mother’s womb and be born again. What are you saying with this ‘born-from-above’ talk?”

Jesus said, “You’re not listening. Let me say it again. Unless a person submits to this original creation—the ‘wind-hovering-over-the-water’ creation, the invisible moving the visible, a baptism into a new life—it’s not possible to enter God’s kingdom. When you look at a baby, it’s just that: a body you can look at and touch. “But the person who takes shape within is formed by something you can’t see and touch—the Spirit—and becomes a living spirit.”

Jesus take no prisoner’s way of teaching had to one of the toughest teachers Nicodemus had ever had to encounter. He allowed Jesus to challenge his understanding.  He did not shrink from revealing his ignorance about the second birth.  He listened.  In spite of the fact that he was a teacher, he was willing to be taught.  Jesus did not disappoint.

Now I ask of you, to join Nicodemus here this night and listen to how a Master Teacher teaches the lesson of our New Birth.  He says, “So don’t be so surprised when I tell you that you have to be ‘born from above’—out of this world, so to speak. You know well enough how the wind blows this way and that. You hear it rustling through the trees, but you have no idea where it comes from or where it’s headed next. That’s the way it is with everyone ‘born from above’ by the wind of God, the Spirit of God.”

Nicodemus asked, “What do you mean by this? How does this happen?”

Jesus said, “You’re a respected teacher of Israel and you don’t know these basics? Listen carefully. I’m speaking sober truth to you. I speak only of what I know by experience; I give witness only to what I have seen with my own eyes. There is nothing secondhand here, no hearsay. Yet instead of facing the evidence and accepting it, you procrastinate with questions. If I tell you things that are plain as the hand before your face and you don’t believe me, what use is there in telling you of things you can’t see, the things of God?

“No one has ever gone up into the presence of God except the One who came down from that Presence, the Son of Man. In the same way that Moses lifted the serpent in the desert so people could have something to see and then believe, it is necessary for the Son of Man to be lifted up—and everyone who looks up to him, trusting and expectant, will gain a real life, eternal life.

When we know the truth, the truth will set us free, and here we can see clearly that Jesus provided Nicodemus with the gospel truth, and Nicodemus was able to see the light that night and experience God’s love from the Master Teacher because Nicodemus character was changed that very night.  What about you, have you seen the light and excepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior?

IS THERE LIFE FOR MANKIND AFTER DEATH (PART 2)

IS THERE LIFE FOR MANKIND AFTER DEATH THE NEXT LESSON

THE TOMB COULD NOT CONTAIN HIM (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

THE TOMB COULD NOT CONTAIN HIM (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

In our last lesson we concluded with this last paragraph, “Our hope of deliverance from sin in this world (see Romans 6:4, 11, 12) and the reality of life in the next (1 Corinthians 15:17-23) are dependent upon the resurrection of Jesus. The incarnation of God’s Son, His sinless life and vicarious death, would have availed nothing if He had been kept a prisoner of death. The saints of all ages would remain in their graves, sealed forever, if Christ had not broken the power of death and come forth to immortal life. And Christians would have been “false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised” (1 Corinthians 15:15)!”

Do we understand what this mean for our new life?  Now I encourage you to pause your reading right here.  Go back and read this paragraph again, meditate on it, then pick up your Bible, read, study and meditate on these three scriptures before plowing deeper into this lesson.  We want you to fully understand and comprehend the depth and scope of these words and the fact that our new life depends totally on the resurrection of Jesus.

Now that you have read, studied and meditated on these scriptures, let’s move on and see how we are going to fit into OUR NEW SPIRITUAL BODY.  This should excite you greatly; it sends chills up my spine just to think how God has seen everything in the future and made plans for our eternal life cycle.

The Bible provides us with much hope for a future life, and Paul shares that hope with us, that there is truly LIFE AFTER DEATH in (2 Corinthians 5:1-2).  In these two beautiful verses we find these very important words: “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven.”

In the fifteenth chapter of I Corinthians, Paul again preaches to those who have no faith in the LIFE AFTER DEATH. This wonderful chapter is used by the majority of MINISTERS to bring comfort and faith to those who have been bereaved by the loss of their loved ones. “It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.”  This should get you excited and make you want to shout and thank God for all he has done to plan for your continuation of LIFE AFTER DEATH.  If you truly believe in the word of God, there should be no doubt whatsoever in your mind about what God can and will do.

However, we discover in the days of old, man had no such hope for a LIFE AFTER DEATH.    During the old dispensation and all through the Old Testament, to him the grave ended all. We find such discouragement when we read the ninth chapter of Ecclesiastes, the fifth verse, where the statement is made, “For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.”  As we have moved forward into the teachings of Jesus and understanding his DEATH and RESURRECTION, we now know and can rejoice in a future hope of LIFE AFTER DEATH.

Let us pause this lesson right here and pick it up on the other side of midnight.  You must return again and again to truly understand just how greatly the DEATH and RESSURECTION of JESUS CHRIST affects us all in a very profound way.

I encourage you to think deeply on the Scriptures because there you will find the truth of God’s word and what he wants you to know and understand about his son’s LIFE, DEATH and RESSURECTION.  I have ministered to you on this day from a position of PEACE, POWER, PURPOSE and PROSPERITY.  I remain your brother in JESUS CHRIST, PASTOR DAVIS/MASTER TEACHER.

IS THERE LIFE FOR MANKIND AFTER DEATH?

THE LIGHT THAT LEADS US FROM DARKNESS TO THE BRIGHTNESS OF GOD'S GLORY THE TUNNEL (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

THE LIGHT THAT LEADS US FROM DARKNESS TO THE BRIGHTNESS OF GOD’S GLORY                       (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

We begin today’s lesson not with one question, but two. The first question is this,  “IS THERE LIFE FOR MANKIND AFTER DEATH?”  The second question is, “IS YOUR FAITH BASED ON THE WORD OF GOD ARE SOMETHING ELSE?”  I consider both questions important for the overall discussion of the Death and Resurrection of JESUS CHRIST.

Therefore, as we begin our forward look towards Easter and the celebration of the life, death and resurrections of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I find that there is no better time than now to ask these two very important questions, and have you the reader to examine your soul for the answer to a question that so many of us refuse to even consider bringing up in our family discussions.  I find this to be a sad commentary especially for believers.

Now as I was doing research for my book on “LIFE AFTER DEATH,” I came across this quote from another great writer, and it said, “Christianity,” “is a religion of the open tomb.” Keep that thought in mind as you study this lesson on the resurrection. The founder of Christianity could not be kept in the prison house of death. An angel rolled the great stone from the door of Joseph’s new tomb, and the Son of God came forth triumphant over death. “I am the resurrection and the life,” He said (John 11:25).

The apostle Paul argues that the Christian faith stands or falls upon the fact of the resurrection of Christ.

“If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised, and if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith” (1 Corinthians 15:13, 14).

Now let us understand this one very important truth, and that is this; Jesus came to this Earth to teach mankind a particular lesson; and if He was destined to become the Savior of mankind, then the greatest lesson which He could have taught man was that of faith; faith in his God and faith in a life after death.

THE TOMB OF DEATH COULD NOT CONTAIN HIM (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

THE TOMB OF DEATH COULD NOT CONTAIN HIM (PHOTO BY PASTOR DAVIS)

By His very own death, Christ Jesus must bring to man faith, and the belief in a LIFE AFTER DEATH. He preached immortality, and to further impress this fact upon humanity, He must go through the throes of death in order to return to life and bring to man proof of an after death life. To accomplish this He appeared to His beloved disciples in His  spiritual body. In I Corinthians, 15:6, Paul says, “After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once: of whom the greater part remains unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.” He walked and talked to them so that they might believe that what He had preached, the immortality of the soul, was a fact and that after man has laid aside his physical body, he still lives in a finer and more ethereal body.

Our hope of deliverance from sin in this world (see Romans 6:4, 11, 12) and the reality of life in the next (see 1 Corinthians 15:17-23) are dependent upon the resurrection of Jesus.

We encourage you to open your mind and think deeply upon this lesson and the ones to come.  Our hope is that you who have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior find some comfort in these words as you continue to study with us here at VINE AND BRANCH WORLD MINISTRIES.  If you want SALVATION for your soul, you can have it right here and now.  Just stroll to the top of this page and click on SALVATION IS FREE, read it, accept it, and come to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior. There is HOPE in a continuous life beyond this life when you accept Jesus as the only one that can provide you with it.  We have presented this lesson to you today from a position of peace, power, purpose and prosperity.  I remain your brother in Jesus Christ, PASTOR DAVIS/MASTER TEACHER!

Now let us end this lesson for today with this short video clip.  Please return tomorrow for another great lesson on LIFE AFTER DEATH!

MIND REALITY THOUGHTS

FRIDAY 3/28/14

PREPARE YOUR MIND FOR WARFARE

Every true child of God soon learns that the Christian life is warfare.  The hosts of Satan are committed to hinder and obstruct the work of Christ and to knock the individual solider out of combat.  The more effective a believer is for the Lord, the more he will experience the savage attacks of the enemy: the devil does not waste his ammunition on nominal Christians.  In our own strength we are no match for the devil.  So the first preparatory command is that we should be continually strengthened in the Lord and in the boundless resources of His might

.THURSDAY 3/27/14

PATIENCE IS A PARTNER OF FAITH

Patience is shown when “you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6:12 NKJ) Patience is an active force of perseverance, endurance, fortitude, and persistence. Patience is a force of action that does not distract you from your corresponding action but under girds it.  With the force of patience, you possess a greater tenacity to succeed.  ”By your steadfastness and patient endurance you shall win the true life of your souls.” (Luke 21:19 AMP)

BIRTH AND DEATH OCCUR SIMULTANEOUSLY

When we look deeply and recognize the causes and conditions that allow birth and death to be, we realize that birth and death are only notions.  The manifestation of something is not the beginning of its existence, and when something is not manifesting, this does not mean that it does not exist.  Before a phenomenon manifests, it is already there in the conditions.  Birth is made of death, and death is made of birth.  Birth and death occur simultaneously in each moment.  Before you were born, you were already there.  When you die, you do not become nothing.  You go back to the wholeness, to the base, in order to manifest again.

TUESDAY 3/25/14

HOW ORDERLY PEOPLE CONSERVE THEIR TIME

Orderly people conserve both their time and energy by never losing anything and therefore never having to find anything.  Everything is in its place, and the hand can be at once placed upon it, though it be in the dark.  They can well afford to be cool and deliberate, and so use their mental energies in something more profitable than irritation, bad temper, and accusing others for their own lack of order.

SATURDAY 3/22/14

SUPPLEMENT YOUR FAITH WITH VIRTUE

The WORD OF GOD speaks to us and says, “For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.” (2 Peter 1:5-7 ESV)

THE CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD LIVES WITHIN YOU

THE CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD LIVES WITHIN YOU

bible-Sunlight.jpg 001

My brothers and sisters let us get a crystal clear understanding as to what and who is the church of the living God. Too many believers have a misconception that the church is a physical building. Now let me help you to understand who the church is according to the word of God. This is what the word of the living God says to us: “Do you not discern and understand that you [the whole church at Corinth] are God’s temple (His sanctuary), and that God’s Spirit has His permanent dwelling in you [to be at home in you, collectively as a church and also individually]?” 1 Corinthians 3:16 AMP

In this Scripture this “church” does not refer to any particular physical building; rather, it is a collection of all believers and, by extension, across the entire world. These believers, each serving and worship in their individual churches, are the pillar of and support of God’s truth. The church is not the source of this truth; rather, it functions as the custodian of and the witness to the truth. The people who believe God’s truth has the power to change the entire world.

In the book of John 8:32, the bible says, “Know the truth and the truth will set you FREE!”Let there be no doubt that the household of the living God is, “THE CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD THAT LIVES IN YOU!” What agreement [can there be between] a temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in and with and among them and will walk in and with and among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 2 Corinthians 6:16 AMP

You are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus Himself the chief Cornerstone.  In Him the whole structure is joined (bound, welded) together harmoniously, and it continues to rise (grow, increase) into a holy temple in the Lord [a sanctuary dedicated, consecrated, and sacred to the presence of the Lord].

In Him [and in fellowship with one another] you yourselves also are being built up [into this structure] with the rest, to form a fixed abode (dwelling place) of God in (by, through) the Spirit.  (Ephesians 2:20-22 AMP)  THE CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD LIVES WITHIN YOU!”
