WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU FEEL AS IF YOU ARE ALL ALONE?

WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES

Let us begin this day by understanding that we are never alone when we learn to lean and depend on Jesus.  Now think deeply on this, when you are feeling loneliness in your life, because learning to lean and depend on Jesus requires you to turn away from the things of this world, which include your worldly thoughts.  Now listen to how Jesus teaches us to lean and depend on Him, He says, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. (John 15:16 ESV)”

What happens when you feel as if you are all alone?

What happened to those friends who walked by your side and interacted with you, saying they have your back? Through-out a life time you are apt to encounter such friends as these. As you grow and mature you are likely to experience situations where you’ll have moments of joy as well as disappointment.

It is a time of reflection and a  reminder as to how God is able to lift you  above moments of disappointment  and encourage your heart to let you know that all is not lost, for in him is where your strength lies.

When you feel as if you are all alone?  God says, “If you will hold on to me for dear life, I’ll get you out of trouble. I’ll give you the best care if you only get to know me. Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times. I’ll rescue you, I’ll give you long life, give you a long drink of salvation.” (Psalm 91: 1-16, MGS)

When you realize that the very people you considered to be friends will go to any level to cause you harm or pain you must have a spirit of forgiveness even when you are alone.

It is when you are alone that you ask God to help you understand why things happen the way they do and don’t carry the burden of heaviness alone. Unforgiveness can destroy friendships, take away your joy in life and can even damage your health. So, the best thing you can do is release those feelings and repeat to yourself, “I am choosing to forgive those who have stolen from me, broken my heart or caused any physical or emotional damage.  Lord thank you for giving me the ability to release, and for peace and joy to journey on in faith. Fill my heart with love greater than I’ve ever had for all of my friends, you are my peace. Thank you.”

What happens when you feel as if you are all alone, you’re at a crossroad in life? There comes a point in time when you must choose, you must make decisions, those type things that guide you towards your assigned destination. Those friends you once thought you could not do with-out is no longer a part of what or who you seek to be, that only means that you are coming into your  own, beginning to realize the value of life. Many go through life never reaching this point, but when you connect to the source, you’ve connected to the One that will always be there, no matter the season.

What happens when you feel as if you are alone?  Once you’ve tapped into the source you have gained a friend for life. For Jesus says, “I will never leave, nor forsake you,” those words reassures us that beyond our worldly thoughts, our spiritual connection brings us into a whole new dimension of life, we are now new creatures in Christ Jesus, who is our friend and provider, always watching over us and listening to our cry for help. He is not like man; he hears and will acknowledge our requests at the time appointed. So, rest assured my friends, you are never alone.

We pray that this message has been a blessing to your soul, and you will begin your daily walk with God lifting Him up as He picks you up and takes you to that high place that He desires for all His Children to be.

Thursday Scriptures of Encouragement (Proclaim God’s Truth)

PROCLAIMING GODS CLEAR TRUTH EVERYDAY

Created by Faith (Photo by Pastor Davis)

Created by Faith (Photo by Pastor Davis)

Go after a life of love as if your life depended on it—because it does. Give yourselves to the gifts God gives you. Most of all, try to proclaim his truth everyday. If you praise him in the private language of tongues, God understands you but no one else does, for you are sharing intimacies just between you and him. But when you proclaim his truth in everyday speech, you’re letting others in on the truth so that they can grow and be strong and experience his presence with you.

The one who prays using a private prayer language” certainly gets a lot out of it, but proclaiming God’s truth to the church in its common language brings the whole church into growth and strength. I want all of you to develop intimacies with God in prayer, but please don’t stop with that. Go on and proclaim his clear truth to others. It’s more important that everyone have access to the knowledge and love of God in language everyone understands than that you go off and cultivate God’s presence in a mysterious prayer language—unless, of course, there is someone who can interpret what you are saying for the benefit of all.

Think, friends: If I come to you and all I do is pray privately to God in a way only he can understand, what are you going to get out of that? If I don’t address you plainly with some insight or truth or proclamation or teaching, what help am I to you? If musical instruments—flutes, say, or harps—aren’t played so that each note is distinct and in tune, how will anyone be able to catch the melody and enjoy the music? If the trumpet call can’t be distinguished, will anyone show up for the battle?

So if you speak in a way no one can understand, what’s the point of opening your mouth? There are many languages in the world and they all mean something to someone. But if I don’t understand the language, it’s not going to do me much good. It’s no different with you. Since you’re so eager to participate in what God is doing, why don’t you concentrate on doing what helps everyone in the church?

So, when you pray in your private prayer language, don’t hoard the experience for yourself. Pray for the insight and ability to bring others into that intimacy. If I pray in tongues, my spirit prays but my mind lies fallow, and all that intelligence is wasted. So what’s the solution? The answer is simple enough. Do both. I should be spiritually free and expressive as I pray, but I should also be thoughtful and mindful as I pray. I should sing with my spirit, and sing with my mind. If you give a blessing using your private prayer language, which no one else understands, how can some outsider who has just shown up and has no idea what’s going on know when to say Amen“? Your blessing might be beautiful, but you have very effectively cut that person out of it.

I’m grateful to God for the gift of praying in tongues that he gives us for praising him, which leads to wonderful intimacies we enjoy with him. I enter into this as much or more than any of you. But when I’m in a church assembled for worship, I’d rather say five words that everyone can understand and learn from than say ten thousand that sound to others like gibberish.

Therefore, I say to each of you, go on and proclaim God’s clear truth to others everyday, and allow everyone to have complete access to the love and knowledge of God.

Now may God’s love, truth and peace, rest and abide in each of you, in Jesus name, AMEN!

Saturday Morning Devotional Prayer and Praise Services (Blessings over your life)

HOW TO GET GOD TO BLESS YOUR LIFE

praise 26

When praises go up, blessing come down; Now if you are one of those people who are wondering why your life and the life of your family is in such poor condition, think on  this message of praise, and if you are not giving God all your praises day by day then the answer should be quite simple, and the solution to being able TO GET GOD TO BLESS YOUR LIFE, and lift you up out of poverty is to begin praising God for whatever condition you might find yourself in.  Just open your mouth and praise him even if you are facing eviction from your home are apartment, no food to eat, no job to go to, your marriage are relationship has fallen apart, you have been stricken with a crippling decease, you ought to look towards heaven and say, thank you Jesus for this opportunity to praise you, because I know that the conditions that I find myself in today, shall be no more.  Thank you for allowing me to experience your marvelous light of this day.  From this moment forward, I am going to praise you, HALLELUJAH!

BEAUTY OF LOVE (Photo by Pastor Davis)

BEAUTY OF LOVE (Photo by Pastor Davis)

Hallelujah! Praise God in his holy house of worship, praise him under the open skies;
Praise him for his acts of power, praise him for his magnificent greatness; Praise with a blast on the trumpet, praise by strumming soft strings; Praise him with castanets and dance, praise him with banjo and flute; Praise him with cymbals and a big bass drum, praise him with fiddles and mandolin. Let every living, breathing creature praise God!  Hallelujah!  (Psalm 150 MSG).

When your life becomes filled with praises, he will put a smile on your face, new words on your lips, new clothes on your back, new strut in your walk, your rent is paid, your car note paid, plenty of fresh food to eat, pain and heartaches gone, stress and worries gone.  When you come into the full knowledge and power of these changes taking place in your life, then you will know, “HOW TO GET GOD TO BLESS YOUR LIFE!”

MY MAXIMIZE PRAYER OF PRAISE

Father in the name of Jesus, I pause all of my actions this very moment, lift my head towards the sky and say thank you for allowing the sun to shine on me this day.  I praise you Heavenly Father; I glorify you, for you are worthy to be praised. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah.  Nothing can stop me from praising you, giving you the glory and honor for all that you have done in my life and the lives of all the people that you have placed in my care.   Thank you Heavenly Father, and may you forever allow all my deeds, my words, my actions and my thoughts always be nothing but one of praise.  In Jesus name, AMEN!

HOW TO RECEIVE THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE

What must I do to be saved? This question was first asked by a jailer at Ephesus, who witnessed an earthquake that freed Paul and Silas. Paul and Silas were the Church’s first official evangelists, who had been falsely arrested and beaten and left in his charge. The earthquake came as the climax to a midnight prison cell prayer and praise meeting and it spurred the jailer to consider the condition of his soul.  What must I do to be saved, you asked?  If you truly want to be saved, listen to what the Lord says you must do, “you should first go to God in prayer.  When praying to Him you should tell Him you are sorry for the sinful things that you have done against Him and how you want to do the right thing from now on (1 John 1:9Acts 20:21). Next you should ask Him to forgive your sins through His death payment on the cross (Colossians 2:10-14). Last, make a commitment to God that you will wholly follow His commandments and believe on Him and His Word, with the help of His Holy Spirit (John 14:15).  Congratulations, you are SAVED (John 8:32)! You have become a new person, and you will be able to live a life that is pleasing to God (2 Corinthians 5:14-17 ). Now, God will come into your heart and live with you (Revelation 3:20). This is so you can be close to Him, receive His power, and understand His Word (1 John 3:16Acts1:8John14:26).

Thank you for reading and studying with us today, and may the grace of the Lord rest and abide in each of you now and forever, Amen!

Memorial Day Blessing for the Men and Women of our Armed forces

Armed and ready for battle (Photo by Pastor Davis)

Armed and ready for battle (Photo by Pastor Davis)

“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1; NKJV) A time of war and a time of peace (verse 8).

In remembrance of our arm forces, today is set aside to say we appreciate how you give of yourself unselfishly in your efforts to secure freedom and peace around the world. You accept your calling with dignity, courage and strength and move without hesitation when called. It is with utmost respect we say thank-you. We say thank you to your spouses, families and communities for sharing your gifts and talents in time of war and peace.

So we offer this prayer:

Most Holy and all wise God, we approach your throne (presence) with thanksgiving on the tip of our tongue and praise in our hearts. We know that war shatters many lives as our soldiers go into battle. We thank you for giving them courage and respect for the career which they have chosen in the name of freedom. Father we know that there are many battle scares to be dealt with, we ask that you touch each and every-one of them in a special way so that they’re able to live whole and productive lives. Give families strength and a sense of duty in time of need and encouragement. We pray that those whom have given their lives for the cause of freedom will always be remembered in the hearts and minds of our people.  This day set aside to pay respect is an honor and our way of saying thank you for the freedom we have because of so many sacrifices.

Amen, Amen.

As families gather, parades represent is grand stand, and the American Flag waves freely, let us lift up our eyes toward glory and thank God for being free. We are most thankful for all who have freely given of themselves with hearts of courage and sacrifice. Thank all of you for a job well done, and GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Monday’s Word of Encouragement (Attitude)

YOU SHOULD BEGIN THIS WEEK WITH THE RIGHT MENTAL ATTITUDE

CHOOSE TO BECOME ONE WITH GOD (Photo by Pastor Davis)

CHOOSE TO BECOME ONE WITH GOD (Photo by Pastor Davis)

My dear brothers and sisters as you begin this week I am encouraging each of you to challenge yourselves to become one with God.  In order to do so you must have the right mental attitude.  Center your thoughts on the things above and not the things of this world.  The Bible tells us in Romans 12:2 to be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your minds.  Your dominant thoughts will determine your success or failure as you journey throughout this week on your way towards your divine destiny.

Remember you are the thinker of your thoughts and as such you are the maker of your own conditions in this life.  We want you to learn how to have good thoughts therefore being able to enjoy the peace and contentment that comes with the positive side of the equation of your thought process.

Know this, Ii your dominant mental attitude is peaceable and lovable, bliss and blessedness will follow you; if it be resistant and hateful, trouble and distress will cloud your pathway.  Out of ill will, will come grief and disaster; out of good will, healing and reparation will flow to you.  Nothing appears without adequate cause.  Everything that happens is just.  Nothing is fated, everything is formed.

Now listen carefully to my closing words in this lesson today; as you think you travel, as you love, you attract. You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you. You cannot escape the result of your thoughts, but you can endure and learn, you can accept and be glad.

You can alter your thoughts, and so alter your condition. Strive to perceive the vastness and grandeur of your responsibility. You are powerful, not powerless. You are as powerful to obey as you are to disobey, as strong to be pure, as you are to be impure, you are as ready for wisdom as you are for ignorance.  You can learn what you will, and can remain as ignorant as you choose.

Finally, if you love knowledge you will obtain it, if you love wisdom you will secure it, if you love purity you will realize it. All things await your acceptance, and you choose by the thoughts which you entertain. Therefore my brothers and sisters began this week with the right mental attitude, choose well your thoughts, and thank on the goodness of the Lord and where he has brought you from and where he  is taking you to. “Choose to become one with Him!”

Wednesday Inspirational and Motional Service (Overcoming the Impossible)

FAITH AND DOUBT CANNOT DWELL IN THE SAME HOUSE

Pilot Mountain, N.C. (Photo by Pastor Davis)

We begin this lesson today with Jesus teaching us how we can overcome the ABSOLUTE IMPOSSIBLE.  Now listen to how Jesus teaches us to overcome the IMPOSSIBLE.  He says, “Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”  (Mark 11:23-24 ESV)

Jesus then moved swiftly in teaching them a lesson about answers to prayer.  Jesus had cursed the fig tree; the fig tree had died; the disciples had expressed surprise.  Then Jesus explained that they could ask anything of God and receive an answer.  This mountain (referring to the Mount of Olives on which they stood) could be sent into the sea (the Dead Sea that could be seen from the Mount).  Jesus point was that in their petitions to God they must believe and not doubt (that is, without wavering in their confidence in God).  Remember, “FAITH AND DOUBT CANNOT DWELL IN THE SAME HOUSE.”  The kind of prayer Jesus meant was not the arbitrary wish to move a mountain; instead, he was referring to prayers that the disciples would need to endlessly pray as they faced mountains of opposition to their gospel message in the years to come.  Their prayers for the advancement of God’s Kingdom would always be answered positively in God’s timing.

However, as we look at the straight forward teaching of Jesus concerning the character of God and that God’s character never changes, Jesus told them that there was no guarantee that simply by asking him anything they wanted and believing they could get it.  Now don’t you become discourage in what Jesus is saying to the disciples, but listen how he instructs them on the moral high ground of God.  He says to them, “God does not grant request that violate his own nature or will.  Jesus statement was not a blank check.  To be fulfilled, requests made to God in prayer must be in harmony with the principles of God’s Kingdom.  They must be made in Jesus name.

Now turn with me for a moment in your Bibles to (John 14:13-14).  Listen to what it says, “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. The stronger our faith, the more likely our prayers will be in union with Christ and in line with God’s will; then God would be happy to grant them.  God can accomplish anything, even if it seems humanly impossible.

Impossibility is not a word that should be used in our lexicon.  In understanding this text we should be moved into action.  Know that in our minds we can do anything in the name of Jesus.  There is no mountain to high that we cannot climb, no valley to low that we cannot walk through.

We should not become like the motions of the ocean.  Always going back and forth, but we should be so rooted and grounded in our faith that no matter what comes after us we will always be able to with stand it.  We are built of strong timber, the timber of Jesus Christ.  When God says that nothing is impossible, we must learn to trust God in his word.  Knowing that God can never tell a lie, if he does he will deny himself.  God never makes a promise that he does not fulfill.  Our faith must be rooted and grounded in the word of God.  Our spirit must be one of can do.  Having a can do spirit will remove the mountains of impossibility from your life.

When the doctors says to you that you only have six months to live, and there is nothing else they can do for you.  Your attitude must be one of faith.  Faith in Jesus, Faith that if Jesus said it, it is a done deal; Jesus said that if you believe in God without doubt in your mind, nothing is impossible.

Change your thinking and you will change your life.  Tell the doctor that my God said not until he says it is time for me to go, that I will leave this world.  I can overcome this, I will overcome this because I am leaning and depending on my God.  I am an over comer, I am born in the Spirit of the living God.  For me nothing is impossible.  Today not only do I talk the talk, but I am walking the walk.  I am walking out my faith in the name of Jesus.  I know that my God did not bring me this far to leave me.  He promised me that He would never put on me more than I could bear.  I am standing on that promise, because I know that this check that my God has given to me, I can deposit it into my bank account and it will never bounce.  Faith, Faith, Faith, it is my faith that will always see me through.  Come on now let’s walk it out, talk it out.  Let’s tell the devil, devil get thee behind me, because I am holding onto My God’s unchanging hands.

Faith, Faith, Faith, there is nothing that is impossible in my world.  Step by step I am moving closer to where My God is trying to take me. It was nothing but Grace that brought me through the tribulations of this life.  It was nothing but God’s grace that brought me up on the rough side of the mountain and planted my feet right here where I am standing today.

Now sing this hymn with me, “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me!  I once was lost but now I am found, I was blind but now I see.  Taws grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved; how precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed!”

It was God’s grace that gave me the opportunity to change my thinking, It is my faith that has sustained me, it is my faith that has healed me, and I know that it is my faith that will move any mountain in my life, because I believe in the true and living God and I know without a doubt that “FAITH AND DOUBT CANNOT DWELL IN THE SAME HOUSE.” What about you?
