Monday’s Word of Encouragement (Trouble don’t last always)

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (MSG)

All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.

There is power in the Word of God

Written by: Shirley Rhodes

This question may seem strange to some; Do You Have What it takes to Stand Firm with Power? In all actuality it is a defining question if your goal is to live out your created purpose. The Christian journey is an opportunity to share life’s teachings, so don’t waste time needlessly because your journey is God given, your destination is where you’ll spend eternity.

When you make the decision to follow Jesus your life takes on a different meaning, there will be life changes that often seem unbearable, you lose many “friends” and often members of your own family may withdraw because they have not yet been able to grasp the entire picture.

A servant, a follower of Jesus can expect hard times, tough times, hard work and dedication, but learn to take it all in joy knowing the purpose of their calling.  The servant or follower is encouraged to reach out to the lost and those seeking to know more about this wonderful relationship so graciously offered.

Remember the Great Commission as Jesus instructed: “Go into the entire world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15) We are to familiarize ourselves with this thought; “to every creature” so that everyone may know their freedom has been brought and paid for in full by a resurrected Savior.

Once you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit the question, Do You Have What it takes to Stand Firm with Power should become a part of who you are in Christ.  Remember when Jesus called the Twelve together, how he gave them power and authority and to proclaim the kingdom of God? (Luke 9:1-7 NIV) that same power lives today in true believers because it is God given.

In order to work under the anointing of the Holy Spirit your character must be that of clear thinking, gentleness, holiness, and honest love. We are called to work, as believers we become one body in Christ and all power was given to Jesus by God for Jesus so stated: “His Father have given him power over all flesh “(John 17:2) through his sacrifice we are able to share in that gift. Through him we are encouraged to use our gifts as instruments of peace sharing his gospel with others. Do you have what it takes to stand firm with power?

Stand Firm

For we are many members in one body, and all members have not the same office (Romans 12:4), knowing this gives each of us the opportunity to develop and enhance whatever that gift is to draw the lost, it may be a gift of  prophecy, ministry, or  teaching, whatever your calling is prepare your hearts and spirit for opposition. Always remember God has created and assigned you with purpose; therefore, as long as you’re in Christ Jesus nothing or no one can tear you down, but the attempt will be made. In your weakest moments, trials and struggles, do you have what it takes to stand firm with power?

Jesus is your Master, salvation comes through him, in obedience and faith embrace his teachings, follow his pattern for life and you’ll never regret one moment because your destination is not earthly but heavenly (eternal). Dedicate your entire being before God, and watch how he changes you from inside out, how he is able to bring the very best in you to the surface. Put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:11-18),  when you’re confronted with discouragement and find yourself wondering, do you have what it takes to stand firm with power, you’ll know the answer at the appointed time.

Today My Brothers and Sisters, I thank God for each of you who take the time to visit with us, read and study and share the important lessons with your followers, families and friends. May the Lord bless you and your ministries abundantly in Jesus name, Amen!

Monday’s Word of Encouragement (God will never give up on you)

Below is a letter sent from Paul an Apostle of Jesus Christ to believers everywhere?  It is a letter of encouragement with a promise from God just to remind us in case we forget just how much God really loves us and that he will never give up on us.  This is truly a great reminder of just how much God loves all of His Children, and this is one fact we should never ever forget. Now listen to what Paul tells us:

He says, “I send this letter to you in God’s church at Corinth; believers cleaned up by Jesus and set apart for a God-filled life. I include in my greeting all who call out to Jesus, wherever they live. He’s their Master as well as ours!”

May all the gifts and benefits that come from God our Father, and the Master, Jesus Christ, be yours;

Every time I think of you—and I think of you often!—I thank God for your lives of free and open access to God, given by Jesus. There’s no end to what has happened in you—it’s beyond speech, beyond knowledge. The evidence of Christ has been clearly verified in your lives.

Just think—you don’t need a thing, you’ve got it all! All God’s gifts are right in front of you as you wait expectantly for our Master Jesus to arrive on the scene for the Finale. And not only that, but God himself is right alongside to keep you steady and on track until things are all wrapped up by Jesus. God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that.  (1 Corinthian 1:1-9 MSG)

Therefore, Children of God, let me Encourage you today, to stand still, look towards the hills from which all your blessings are flowing, calm your mind, allow Jesus to open your spiritual eyes that you may see His blessings flowing all around you. Allow Him to open your spiritual ears that you may here Jesus voice speak to you as he says these words, “MY DEAR CHILDREN, BE ENCOURAGED, GOD WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU ARE FORSAKE YOU!

See how God works through His Chosen People

You are a chosen vessel for the will of God…

God works through you when in obedience and humility you surrender and totally submit to his will. You are filled with purpose and there are goals set and designed especially for you simply because you are an intricate part of the pattern. Think of a pattern, a design, it is drawn out according to a specific plan and when followed that plan is perfected. Here are examples of the movement of God through his chosen people who surrendered and allowed him to perform miracles in and through them.

Moses and the burning bush:

…God called Moses from the mist of the burning bush… “Moses, Moses!” Moses responded, “Here am I.” God said, “Do not draw near this place, for the place where you stand is holy ground. Take your sandals off your feet.”(Exodus 3:4-5; NKJV) There was a reason and purpose for this command, God was about to send Moses on a mission in which he could not yet comprehend, yet he was obedient, he was created in the mind of God with a purpose to carry out his plan.

Joshua and the wall of Jericho:

Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshipped…the Commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy.” (Joshua 5:13-15) Joshua was chosen by God for his leadership abilities and obedience. After the Death of Moses, God assured him that he was keeping his promise in giving them every square inch of the land they set their foot on. He said to Joshua, “Go, all your life no one will be able to hold out against you; I’ll be with you, I won’t give up on you, I won’t leave you…you are going to lead the people to inherit the land that I promised to their ancestors (Joshua 1:1-9; MGS). Through divine intervention, Joshua went on lead the people through many successful battles, God’s promise. We too are partakers of such a greater promise when we are obedient followers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; not mere words of expression, but a “promise.”

Paul on the road to Damarcus:

…a light shorn around him from heaven, he fell to the ground and heard a voice… “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” He said, “Who are you Lord?” The Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting…arise and go… (Acts 9: 4-6; NKJV). For I will show him (Paul) many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.” (Verse: 16). ‘Make haste and get out… depart, for I will send you… (22:17), be of good cheer, Paul… (23:11); for Jesus says, “…be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John: 16:33)

Paul accepts his assignment and follows Jesus amidst many trials and tribulations and he reassures us in this way, “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected, but I press on…forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize…let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.” (Philippians 3:12-15)

My friends when you are given a command to follow God’s plan for your life, take the step, not knowing what’s ahead nor be concerned about what’s behind. God does not need to recreate any of you, because what he has created lives within you waiting to be activated. It is the prayer of this ministry that your journey, your assignment be one of endurance, patience, obedience, love, joy and peace; all to the glory of God. Be blessed!

My brothers and sisters we pray that this lesson has been a blessing to your soul, thank you for reading and sharing it with all the people the Lord has brought into your presence.

Monday’s Word of Encouragement (Stand strong in the midst of Adversity)

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD (Photo by Shirley)

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD (Photo by Shirley)

Scripture open doors to knowledge and understanding, everything that pertains to life now and eternal can be found there. If you never take the time to sit down in quietness and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you, that blessing you are expecting may have already passed you by. How inspiring it is to vision the awesome power of knowing Jesus and the price he has paid for each of us to be free created beings, able to live in the promise.

Jesus’ ministry was about instilling hope in people lives and what he set in place he appointed others to carry out, you are encouraged to remain diligent and obedient as leaders, teachers and followers of the master plan. Jesus instructions and encouraging words strengthen you for the journey set before you. …the Lord appointed and sent…he himself was about to go…he said, “go your way, I give you authority…over all the power of the enemy…nothing by any means shall hurt you…nevertheless, do not rejoice in this that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven (Luke: 10: 1-3; NKJV). You are to be sincere in how you accept God’s plan for your life, for it is then you become prosperous.

Jesus went on to say, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see…many have desired to see what you see and have not seen it and to hear what you hear and not heard it…blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” (Luke: 11: 28) God’s blessings are in steady supply for those courageous enough to become learners and doers of what thus says the Lord.

When you reach a point in life where God has been there in your time of need, when he’s lifted you out of un-foreseen circumstances, glorify him with praise and thanksgiving and keep pressing forward. Remember, the race is neither to the swift, nor the battle the strong… (Ecclesiastes: 9:11), but to those who endure to the end. If you are obedient and willing to humble yourself unto the Lord, and you get to the point that you quit defending yourself and attacking others, you open a door for the Lord to fight for you.

Focus on these words; THE LORD IS MY SHEPARD, enjoy the journey.
