HOW TO BECOME A DISCIPLE

Discipleship in the VINE AND BRANCH WORLD MINISTRIES is easy, and it is a choice you must make, because you have been called.  All you need to do is send us an email with your full name, city, state and country where you reside.  State in your email these words; “I want to become a Disciple of Jesus Christ.” That’s it.  Upon receipt of your email, we will send you a certificate of acknowledgement excepting you as a full Disciple in the VINE AND BRANCH WORLD MINISTRIES.  Now before going any further we want you to pause your thinking and listen closely to the teachings of one of our great teachers, [Pastor Dennis R. Everett]  as he instructs us on what we must do as we were instructed by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20. This is called the Great Commission, and it is clearly what Jesus has laid out as your purpose in this life.  Will you take up your cross and follow after Jesus?  Please read all instructions carefully and listen to the videos to the end.

WHO ARE THE DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST

Our Disciples are BELIEVERS just like you, who have made the commitment to become a Disciple of Jesus Christ, and they are from every corner of the world, every walk of life, every race creed and color.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST

In one sense we might call it a radical Christian living experience.  You will be joining thousands of others who are living this Spiritual Odyssey by following the words of Jesus concerning the life of a true disciple.

Now ask yourself these questions, “Is my life challenging? Exciting? Does it have purpose and direction?

If words like “exciting” and “challenging” do not describe your walk with God, if your Christian experience is dull, unfulfilling, or even boring, then it is time to seriously examine your walk in this life and begin to fulfill your purpose of becoming a Disciple of Jesus Christ.

HOW DO YOU GROW AS A DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST

To grow as a Disciple is a day by day process.  Jesus said, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him…take up his cross daily, and follow Me” (Luke 9:23). Here at Vine and Branch World Ministries there is a cross for you to pick-up and follow the path that Jesus lay out for you in the great Commission which is, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you, and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20).

WILL YOU PICK-UP YOUR CROSS AND FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST

Now if you decide that you want to pick-up your cross and follow Jesus, you may have to radically alter the way you think about your relationship with God.  If you are ready to make that change and become a part of this movement for Christ, here are the three steps you need to take, which you will find in the Book of John.

STEP 1. You must bear fruit, this result is found in John 15:7-8, if you abide in Me, and my Words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.  By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, so you will be My Disciples.  If you are a true disciple, you will continue to bear fruit.  This means your life will display practical results as you follow Jesus.

STEP 2. You will study and obey God’s word.  The second characteristic of a disciple is found in John 8:31, where Jesus says, “If you abide [continue] in My Word, you are My Disciples indeed.”  Disciples of Jesus will be students of Scripture and will walk according to its teaching.

STEP 3. You will love one another.  A third trademark of a disciple is found in John 13:35, where Jesus says, “By this all will know that you are My Disciples, if you have love for one  another.”  As a true Disciple, your life will not only be characterized by practical results and a hunger for Scripture, but you will also have love for others especially those who are fellow Christians.  Without all three of these characteristics you cannot really claim to be His Disciple.  Now if you are still undecided if you should become a disciple, please click on this next video clip.
