Time is your most precious asset, stop wasting it and start using it wisely. There are 1,440 minutes in each day. Manage your time wisely and you will be successful. The Apostle Paul advocated “redeeming” or buying back every precious wasted minute. He understood that God has made us stewards over our most irreplaceable possession-time. We are to be good stewards of our time using it wisely, constructively, and in the worship and service of our Lord.
Throughout OT and NT scripture, we see that God condemns idleness particularly, saying, “an idle person will suffer hunger” (Proverbs 19:15). Now in Proverbs 31:27, the virtuous woman is described as a busy woman, who “does not eat the bread of idleness.” The wise king declares in Eccl. 10:18 that the man who does not take the time to work in general maintenance will find his house crumbling around him. Similarly, Ezekiel stated that the foundation of Sodom’s destruction consisted of pride, gluttony, and to much idle time (Ezek. 16:49). Our Lord in His parable of the laborers in the vineyard illustrated that God wants our time to be spent in some worthy endeavor, specifically working in His Vineyard (Matt. 20:1-16).
