Monday’s Word of Encouragement (Get up and get going)

Let me begin this morning by asking you a question; “What are you waiting on?” The journey through this life waits for no one.  Yet you continue to procrastinate by putting off what you can do today for tomorrow, as though there is going to be a tomorrow.  For it is not promised and if you do not begin the task that has been set before you, how do you ever expect to accomplish them?

God has given each one of us a purpose in which to accomplish in this life time, and He has assigned us a specific task to carry out.  Do you know or even understand what you are assigned to do daily in this life as you work towards accomplishing what has been assigned to you?

This is the day and the moment in time for each of you to, “GET UP AND GET GOING!”  Stop wasting valuable time thinking about what you have to do, instead just “GET UP” and, “DO IT!”

In your heart of hearts, you may say to yourself, know body knows the pain and frustrations I am feeling day to day.  It is easy for you to say, Pastor, “GET UP AND GET GOING!”  But let me tell you, it’s easier said than done.

I say to you my friends, sometimes we’re hurting, and we feel very isolated and lonely.  Maybe there’s been a death in the family, a divorce, maybe we’ve gotten fired, and we start to think, “Nobody understands the way I feel, nobody can tell the way I feel, nobody feels the pain.”

Now know this, God knows your feelings and frustrations.  He’s seen the crisis in your soul.  There’s no hurt that goes unnoticed by God.  Psalm 56:6 says, “You know how troubled I am you have kept a record of my tears” (Good News)

Yes, I say to you, God knows all things; none of your troubles are above His caring and understanding.  You must learn to lean and depend upon Him.  Cast all your troubles and concerns upon His shoulders.  The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.” Psalms 103:13 NLT

  1. The past few months I feel God telling me to “get up and get going”, His messages are getting more powerful. Time for me to stop procrastinating and stop making my to do lists and just follow our Lord from the moment I wake in the morning till I rest at night. Thank you for being one of God’s instruments to get me motivated again – in serving Him!

You are so welcome my friend; just remember that obedience to the Lord is the key to your success. He is there waiting for you to start right from where you are. William Clement Stone, the successful insurance executive made famous these words, “DO IT NOW!” Yes my friend, Be Encouraged in your walk with the Lord, for the journey through this life is not to the one who can run the fastest, nor to the one who can carry the heaviest load, but God provides the directions, makes the pathway clear to the one who is willing to get up and get going when He prompts them and have the patience to endure the trials and tribulations they are going to encounter alone the way. Have a blessed and prospers day on your journey.

      • And I did it today – I am exercising again and turning off the tv or computer more! God has already blessed my efforts.

Yes, yes, yes! He is always working it out for His servants that have an obedient heart. Thank you for sharing your testimony and blessings with all God’s Children. What He has done for you, He will do the same for others. Let me encourage you to stay focus, keep your eye on the prize, never give up and never give in, your victory is in Jesus and know that the work you are doing will not only help you but it will also help those who know you and others that come into your present.

      • I should have said, obedience to God telling to turn tv and computer off….God is so awesome!

He truly is an awesome God. Thank you for sharing your thoughts my friend.
