YOU ARE CHOSEN AS KEEPERS OF THE PROMISE:
by Shirley Rhodes:
Jesus was a promised fulfilled by God and in keeping with his plans you are a promise created for kingdom building. As a chosen follower of Christ there comes the realization that you are responsible for one another; really, it’s not about you at all. In order to follow in the footsteps Jesus laid you are to lay aside any forms of malice, hatred, jealously, envy, and any character that’s not of God. It is selfishness to claim the victory while your brothers or sisters wander in darkness; after-all, you have been set free and now see light.
While searching for knowledge and understanding, study the scriptures for it is there God reveals his will for you. Jesus worked so diligently while here on earth to spread the good news of hope for all. For the scriptures says, Jesus said, “I am the door, if anyone one enters by me he shall be saved…the thief does not come except to steal, kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10: 9-10; NKJV). I am the good shepherd and I know my sheep, and am known by my own.” (Verse 14) Therefore, pray for wisdom and understanding by opening your heart to God and live life in expectant obedience for it is his desire to provide you with strength and insight while sojourning here.
When you are able to find the source of discomfort in your life and deal with it in a positive manner, God gives you strength and power to make wise choices and decisions simply because you’re not focused on doing things on your own. Once you confront the issues you’re in far better position to challenge the lies the devil will try to speak into your mind when he tells you, “You’ll never make it.” For the scriptures says, “We are more than conquerors through him who loved us (Romans 8: 37; NKJV),” and so it is.
When you finally decide to follow Jesus there is nothing to lose, yet your reward will be eternally stored. Since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same…therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers, love one another. (1 Peter 1:1-8) Live with hope for all mankind and pray for peace throughout the world.
