LET US MAGIFY THE LORD for he is the greatest gift of all as you celebrate this holiday season. This gift does not come contained in a box or wrapped expensively. There is no variation in the price of this gift because the price has been paid in full, which is why God gave to each of us the greatest gift of all, his Son. “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a Son and they shall call his name Immanuel, which is translated, “God with us” (Matthew 1:23; NKJV).
When you decorate that tree, sing those carols filled with laughter and joy, remember the reason for it all. Jesus, a tiny newborn baby born in a stable, wrapped in pieces of cloth and laid in a feeding trough, just for you. So great was the gift, “… after Jesus was born in Bethlehem…wise men from the East came…asking, “Where is he who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the East, and have come to worship him” (Matthew 2:1-2). “…, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy…when they saw the young child… and fell down and worshiped him…they presented gifts to him…”(Matthew 2:9-11). It’s Christmas a joyous time of the year; so, LET US MAGNIFY THE LORD for he is worthy.
Christmas tradition has been shared from one generation to the next, celebrated culturally expressing gratitude for the gift of a Savior, a King. When you kneel in prayer, remember the children around the world that the true meaning of Christmas will never lose its’ meaning and be replaced by the cares of this world. Pray that they will learn to recognize the value of such a gift as the baby Jesus. Join hands with family and love ones, set aside differences and LET US MAGNIFY THE LORD this holiday season.
