You are perfect right now

By Pastor Davis M. Byars, Jr.

You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. (Matthew 5:48 ESV)

The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.  (Luke 6:40 KJV)

You are perfect right now, because you are right where you are suppose to be.  If you were not, God would have placed you in a different place and a higher level of consciousness for this moment and time.  Therefore, you are who you are, where you are right this very moment because of your own individual thoughts.

My brothers and sisters, I present this lesson to you today that you may be fully equipped by the grace of God, filled with the Holy Spirit and His wisdom and knowledge will empower you to understand that “YOU ARE TRULY PERFECT RIGHT NOW!”  I do however; recognize that everyone that reads this message will not understand it and some of you will even criticize me for writing it.  But I say to you what the bible says, and that is “GET UNDERSTANDING!”  Know the truth and the truth will set you FREE.

I am constantly reminded by people that nobody is perfect. When I ask them to explain their thoughts, they mostly draw a blank and then say that only God is perfect. To here Christians make such a broad statement only shows ignorant to the word of God because the scripture is full of reference of the perfect individual.  The word of God says, “You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”  (Matthew 5:48 ESV)

Every time I hear someone say these words, “But nobody is perfect!” I cringe.  Why?  Because most of the time, they are looking at the imperfect lives of others and using the weaknesses of others to excuse some sin or issue in their own life.  We need to stop comparing ourselves to one another, and begin to compare ourselves to the one that we are to be conformed to His image…that is Jesus Christ… who set an example of what He wants to see in us.

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (Romans 8:29 NIV)

Saying that nobody is perfect puts a serious damper on God’s ability to transform us. “Be ye therefore transformed by the renewing of your mind. (Romans 12:2)  When we deny what God can do, it turns a positive (our ability to become perfect) into a negative (we’ll never be perfect).

You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, [reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect.  (Matthew 5:48 AMP)

“Gen 6:9 — Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. 22Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.”

Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?” The Word of God says that Job has not committed sin. “Job1:22 In all this Job sinned not,—”

Gen 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect”.Abraham fulfilled what God has required of him and received the testimony even from Jesus Christ. “John 8:39They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.”

2 King 20:3 I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight.” King Hezekiah had asked God to extend his life when he was sick and God favored him and gave him and additional 15 years.

We see in the book of Philippians that the Apostle Paul was speaking to those who were already perfect in the Church of Philippians. This proves that there were perfect people in the Church. “Phil 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in anything ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.” The Apostle rebukes the Corinthian Church for its sins. However, in the middle of the rebuke, he recognizes that there are perfect people in the Church and speaks in spiritual wisdom to those perfect ones. “1 Cor 2:6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among themthat are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world.”

It is truly unfortunately that too many of our Churches teach a false doctrine to the Children of God which allows them to think wrongly about Becoming that perfect individual.  They teach an evasive false doctrine saying that it is impossible for man to become perfect.  How can that possibly be when Jesus teaches and leads by example that nothing is impossible?  The Word of God teaches us that all things are possible to those who believe.  This leads the members to repeat such a false doctrine to others and the teaching is carried on by the members as they spread this false doctrine deep into the world.  However, God’s purpose for the Church is to perfect believers even to the measure of the perfection of Jesus Christ.

Now let’s see what the word of God has to say concerning the Church’s teaching on this matter as we open the book of Ephesians 4:11-14 AMP)  11 And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers.

12 His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ’s body (the church),

13 [That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [[a]full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ’s own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him.

14 So then, we may no longer be children, tossed [like ships] to and fro between chance gusts of teaching and wavering with every changing wind of doctrine, [the prey of] the cunning and cleverness of [b]unscrupulous men, [gamblers engaged] in every shifting form of trickery in inventing errors to mislead.

In the Ministry of Teaching, Jesus appointed the apostles to be special massagers to present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.  Therefore, when we look in the book of Colossians 1:28-29 AMP)  28 Him we preach and proclaim, warning and admonishing everyone and instructing everyone in all wisdom ([a]comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God), that we may present every person mature (full-grown, fully initiated, complete, and perfect) in Christ (the Anointed One).

29 For this I labor [[b]unto weariness], striving with all the [c]superhuman energy which He so mightily enkindles and works within me.

The vine and the branch connects you to that real perfection in Christ Jesus, by abiding in him you will receive the same power as the sap from the vine to become powerful and produce an abundant harvest, because the bible says it this way, “I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.

If a person does not dwell in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken-off] branch, and withers; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and they are burned.

If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in youand continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.

When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.  (John 15:5-8 AMP)

The universe is always operating in perfection and harmony. When we align ourselves with it, we will experience the same perfection and harmony for ourselves. That is how living the perfect life is possible. It is an illusion that the world tries to pull over our eyes about what the perfect life is about and how it is supposed to look. The truth is that the perfect life for every individual is different and unique according to the special purpose and life path that the universe has for them. All they have to do is to go for it.

When you are connected with your true self, you know what is it you are being guided to do and you will be doing it. You will know that it is the best thing in the world for you to be doing in that moment and therefore you are perfectly satisfied about doing it. You are totally presence to the moment and are truly living life in the now. You are following the spirit always. You are connected to the essence of who you really are which is the power and the presence of God that is expressing itself through you.

You never have to worry about whether you can be what you want to be, do what you want to do or have what you want to have. Because whatever that you are meant to be, do or have has already been chosen by the larger you as the universe for the smaller you that is living in this world. What you are meant to be, do and have is the best choice that you could ever experience because it is that which fully satisfies the innermost desires of your heart. Your deepest heart desires are also given by the universe.

Godliness with contentment is great gain.

A devout life does bring wealth, but it’s the rich simplicity of being yourself before God. Since we entered the world penniless and will leave it penniless, if we have bread on the table and shoes on our feet, that’s enough.  (1Timothy 6:6 MSG)

Those who know they have enough are truly wealthy. What you have and what you are getting now is enough. Where you are is perfect because it is exactly where you need to be. Perfection is not something that you have to wait for until one day when it comes. Perfection exists in every moment. It is because every step of the way is part of the process. The process does not exist without the steps. Every step is perfection itself and when you are in it, you are perfect.

The universe operates all things in such perfect precision and harmony that you will only be presented with a situation at the right time and when you are ready for it. Everything occurs as part of the universal plan. You will always be provided with the resources you need in the moment, not before or after. When you know the divine power that is always taking care of you, and have the awareness of all things happening in DIVINE ORDER and DIVINE TIMING, you will be perfectly contented in every moment.

Yes, that is correct, perfectly contented in every moment.  You don’t have to try and allow this moment, for this moment is already allowed to be exactly as it is.  You don’t even have to except this moment, for this moment has already been accepted.  Acceptance is not something that you “do” it’s what you are.
