OVERCOMING SIN THE SWEET PERFUMES OF PENITENCE

OVERCOMING SIN THE SWEET PERFUMES OF PENITENCE

THURSDAY SCRIPTURES OF ENCOURAGEMENT IN TRUTH

My dear brothers and sisters as we enter into the 4th of July weekend celebrations, I encourage you to pay close attention to our message for this day.  It is one designed to encourage you in your walk with the Lord and move you away from the evils of sin and allow you to smell the Sweet Perfumes of Penitence.

In this Psalms Alexander Maclaren once said, “The alchemy of divine love can extract sweet perfumes of pentence and praise out of the filth of sin.”  We have an illustration of this in Psalms 51. As the heading explains it was written by David, after Nathan the prophet had boldly exposed him for committing adultery with Bathsheba and for murdering Uriah.  Utterly convicted of his sin David pours out this torrent of penitence from his broken and contrite heart.

Now let us listen to the word of God from this Psalms from my brother in Christ Jesus from the Harvest House family ministry.

  1. Brother Psalms 51 is a very special Psalm indeed. What a blessing it is for each of us to be reminded of it’s importance for each one of us. May we all follow David’s great example of penitence due to the sin that was in his life.

Thanks brother for this great reminder. You are consistently presenting important messages of which we should all benefit. Lord bless you.
