THE KEYS TO JOY IN LIFE:
WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES:
Are you fully engaged in life as you experience each day in its own and what it has to offer? Life is to be lived with meaning in which you learn to embrace what is in the moment, the present; some may say that’s easier said than done. Every day brings many challenges large and small that tend to side track the process of peace we all seek. Once you are able to open your heart to the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you’ve discovered the key. The three keys that guarantee joy in this life; wisdom, grace and prayer, also enhances your quality of life. Before beginning to absorbed the true meaning and purpose of who you, are you must have faith, believe and confess Jesus is the Son of God.
As you strive for the prize remember the value of:
The instructions of a father: My father taught me and said to me, “Let your heart retain my words, keep my commands, and live. Get wisdom and understanding, do not forget or turn away from the words of my mouth. About wisdom: do not forsake her and she will preserve you; love her, and she will keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom and in all your getting, get understanding.” (Proverbs 4: 1-7; NKJV) Wisdom is a virtue many seek to understand because it taps into the inner being and life experience. Throughout the process of one’s lifetime what is learned, experienced and shared touch the life of other human beings. The process is continuous because that is the plan of God and by his design.
Grace is the free and unmerited favor of God as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings. God’s grace abounds through all avenues of your life when he favors you. As you open the door and let him into your life the very struggles you thought would not go away suddenly become manageable, because he gives grace in times of weakness. Ask God to give you strength by his spirit that Christ will live in you as you open the door to invite him in. Become learners and doers of his word so that you will be able to experience the extravagant dimensions of the love of Jesus as you choose to follower him. As the scripture reveal, the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. (2 Corinthians 13:14).
Jesus was praying in a certain place when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us how to pray…” he said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins. For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” (Luke 11:1-4) Life lived without prayer is no life at all because prayer is what connects you to the source of your strength, power and joy. Prayer is a way of releasing to God cares and concerns for yourself as well as everyone else. There is a magical and mysterious connection when you learn to live in faith and rely on God to hear your prayers from the heart. He patiently waits for each of you to tap into the fountain that constantly runs freely.
Listen to me you who follow after righteousness…lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath…my salvation will be forever and my righteousness will not be abolished. (Isaiah 51: 4-6; NKJV)
Understanding the keys to joy in life brings you in line with the promises of God, so, be content with such things as you have; for he himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13: 5) Remember to add wisdom, grace and prayer to your character as you seek to live out your intended purpose.
