BEING THANKFUL FOR THE LIFE YOU LIVE:
WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES:
God in his entire splendor gives us seasons to enjoy and embrace the bounty of love and beauty. We share fresh fragrance of spring flowers through the scent of a budding rose. Rain drops fall to cleanse the air and supply seedlings and roots needed nutrients for growth. What seemed dead and dominant a few months ago has fully sprung to life, the air is filled with sounds of wonder and growth—God’s gift. Amidst all of the uneventful changes, you should be encouraged and strengthened because God does just what he says he will do.
He sends the spring into the valleys: they flow among the hills. They give drink to every beast of the field…he causes grass to grow for the cattle, and vegetation for the service of man that he may bring forth food from the earth…he appointed the moon for seasons, the sun knows it’s going down; you make darkness, and it is night…man goes out to his work and to his labor until evening. O Lord…in wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your possessions…these all wait for you, that you may give them their food in due season. Psalms 104: 1-35; NKJV)
Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! For his mercy endures forever (Psalms 106: 1).
