IN HORNOR OF THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER:
WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES:
Heavenly Father, it is with humble hearts and thirsty spirits we approach your throne of grace and mercy on this NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER. We lift our eyes toward you with prayers for many things in which your people are in need of. We know that you already know each of us because you breathe the breath of life into us; we place before you our prayer this day:
We pray for restoration (spiritual growth) for ailing spirits who are weak in the faith, those who may have strayed away, and for those seeking you with their whole heart that they may experience a time of renewal and refreshing.
We seek intervention on behalf of family, friends, this country and the world at large, praying that they lay aside the many differences that affect others in some way that they will realize you are a God of deliverance and you never fail. Teach us all heavenly Father the principle of love for one another, not malice, hatred and discord. We pray for peace and protection for those who are caught up in the ravages of war that they are able to someday experience a time of freedom.
As your chosen people we desire to live in harmony and peace with one another, so we ask that you strengthen those who are weak, build us up where we’re torn down and so that we can be a light to the world as we strive to carry out the mission you Son gave his life for.
For those who are sick (physically, mentally and/or spiritually) we ask that you bind the presence of evil and instill in them a spirit of wellness. We know that all power comes from you and if we learn to rely on you to meet our needs we can and will be made whole. It is with hearts of thanksgiving and praise we humbly submit our partition to you Heavenly Father.
Blessed be his glorious name forever!
And let the whole earth be filled with his glory.
Amen and Amen
