A VOICE IN TIME OF STILLNESS
SETTLE YOURSELF FOR GOD LIVES IN YOU:
WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES:
It is high time to realize that as the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed from almost any corner of the globe, that God’s Word has enduring power and is there to strengthen the weakest of the weakest. Centered in Christ the Holy Spirit moves in stillness and you are therefore assured of a helper in your darkest hours.
There may be times that you realize (if you haven’t already) circumstances will challenge the deepest part of your inner being; it is then you SETTLE YOURSELF FOR GOD LIVES IN YOU. God is the source of your connection; therefore, finding time to quite your thoughts and calm your inner spirit allows for moments of refreshing and reassurance that nothing or no one can hinder the process once it is set in motion.
Understanding the difference between carnal and spirit helps one to gain a greater appreciation of who God is and how he has molded and shaped each of you for his purpose. For scripture reminds us this way, “Oh, yes, you shaped me in my mother’s womb…you know me inside and out, every bone in my body. You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculptured from nothing to something. You watched me grow from conception to birth, all the stages of my life were spread out before you, the days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day (Psalm 139:13-18: MGS).”
So, SETTLE YOURSELF FOR GOD LIVES IN YOU, because you are his unique creation. Once and for all your freedom has been purchased and paid in full through the sacrificial blood of Jesus; therefore, you are free beings with opportunity to approach the throne of grace in time of need. Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1; NKJV). You are a blessed people in which God’s grace and love centers you as you are while allowing room for expansion and growth in glorious living, you are “royalty,” a child of the King.
SETTLE YOURSELF FOR GOD LIVES IN YOU, for the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those who are being saved it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1: 18); but as it is written “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard; nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love him (1 Corinthians 2: 9).” Settle yourself in the Lord, for he is enduring strength.
