IS GOD REALLY WHITE?

IS GOD REALLY WHITE? This is a question that one of our readers asked me this morning in response to our lesson yesterday title: “SIMON OF CYRENE WAS THE BLACK HANDS THAT HELP CARRY THE CROSS.” You can read his questions and my answers to his questions under the comment section at the bottom of this lesson.  Click this link and stroll down to the bottom of the page:  http://wp.me/pf75v-33x

My friend, your question that you asked this morning, “Is God really White is in truth a really simple to answer.  However, I will not just give you a simplicity answer.  I will begin by answering it this way.  God is neither White nor Black; God is spirit.  We worship God in truth and in Spirit, because God is all there is.  God is everything and everything is God.  Before the world was created, God existed and He created everything out of Himself.  There is nothing are no where God is not.  Therefore, the beautiful colors that we all are, God created them all to represent himself in his beautiful natural self.  The bible says in Genesis 1:27 that God created us in His own image and likeness.   Therefore, what color are we?  Did God not create the rainbow?  Does not the rainbow have many different colors?  Since we all are Gods’ children, do we not represent the rainbow of the Universe?

Your next question would probably be, what about Jesus, is  Jesus himself God, was He not a white man with long stringy hair and blue eyes?  Well that is the image that the white man in America has created to represent Jesus.  That is not the real Jesus who is the son of God and who is our Lord and Savior.  There is nowhere in the New Testament that includes a physical description of Jesus before His death.  That being the case, how can we come up with a picture of Jesus being a white man with blue eyes?  I am a black man and I have blue eyes.   Various theories about the race of Jesus has been advanced and debated for centuries, but there is no clear evidence of what color is Jesus.  The one thing that we can say for certain is that Jesus is God and He has said so Himself and God is neither white nor Black.

The Prophet Isaiah spoke of Jesus some 700 years before Jesus came to earth.  This is what he said, “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God.”  (Isaiah 44:6 AMP)

In the book of John the bible says this, “In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  (John 1:1 AMP)  Then in verse 14, John further says, “And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth.” When we move to the book of Revelations the bible says this:  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord God, He Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty (the Ruler of all).  (Revelation 1:8 AMP) During His time here on this earth Jesus said many things about Himself here are a few:

  1. I am Divine
  2. I am the son of man
  3. I am Alpha and Omega
  4. I am the light of the world

Wow, think about that last one, “I am the light of the world!”  What color is light?  Nobody knows the race are color of Jesus, but what we do know is that his message is about God and love, that makes his race and the color of his skin irrelevant. Our calling is to love God with all our being and be conformed to the image of Christ.  He came here to teach us how to live, love and be obedient to the word of God and offer us eternal life.  He was beaten and suffered a horrific death on the cross for our sins that is all the people of the world, not just white people, or black people nor any other race of people.  He did this for all of us and in this day and time, we should be living as one people, being of the same mind as Jesus had, when he said let this mind that is in me be also in you. (Philippians 2:5). Let us celebrate this Easter with the love of Christ in our hearts, and think not of his color or even our own skin color, but love each other, because God first loved us and he has commanded that we love each other.

  2. Reblogged this on M GRIFFIN MINISTRY and commented:
Pastor Master Teacher Davis has provided us with a wise teaching on the issue of the color of God. Please, listen as he shared with us his answer to such question that was asked by one of his readers. Today I have learned from him how to answer the question “Is God really White?” Thank you and may God bless you Pastor Master Teacher Davis.

  3. Very well explained. The images of Jesus that are in common use today are very very misleading. As you have said there is no proof of what Jesus did look like. Perhaps, based upon Jesus lineage as a Jewish male, He may have had the physical characteristics found in the Jewish race. Lord bless you my brother. Thank you so much for clarifying this very interesting question.

Thank you my brother for adding your voice to a subject that to many leaders in the ministry will not touch with a 10 feet pole. May the Lord bless you abundantly this day.
