LOVE BOUNTIFUL IN FRUITS FROM THE SOUL:
WRITTEN BY SHIRLEY RHODES:
Love suffers long and is kind, love does not envy…parade itself…is not puffed up, does not behave rudely, does not seek its own; it is not provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in iniquity; but, rejoices in the truth. Love bears all things, hopes all things, endures all things; Love never fails (1 Corinthians: 13:4-8; NKJV). What is it about these tributes that make it hard for people to get along in the world? How often do you take a moment and examine your attitude, can you say it’s one of love? For Jesus has taught and shown the world how to love, for which without, no man will see God.
If you pause and look around, you can plainly see that people are growing colder, more immune to violence and despair. Would you reach out to people you don’t know, those who desperately need to know they matter. Homeless people, those incarcerated, gang members, teenage mothers, runaways, battered women and children, junkies—people who are lost and have given up hope; have you made an attempt to let them know that there are angles among us.
Jesus says, “…my commandment is that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love have no man than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friend (John: 15: 12-13). So, do you pick and choose your friends or do you pray and ask the Master to give you a spirit of discernment instead of prejudice? You will find that we are eager to admit love for one another and that’s great; but, just think how that same spirit of love can influence the attitude of others helping to shape a better world.
Just for today reverse negative thinking to positive, when you encounter something as simple as saying thank you with a smile you begin a cycle, which will flow from you, through you to others and back to yourself.
We are everything, yet we are nothing, we all are one and that process is comprised of Love, Agape Love, the kind of love Jesus shared throughout his ministry and passed on to all people. “So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well…appropriately…sincere and intelligent not a sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life…Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God (Philippians: 1: 9-11; MGS).” Glory belongs to God always!
