HOW TO APPROACH GOD TO GET YOUR PRAYERS ANSWERED
Children of God know that our God is truly in the prayer answering business, and today we want to speak to you briefly on the subject of, “HOW TO APPROACH GOD TO GET YOUR PRAYERS ANSWERED!”
The first and most important thing that you must clearly understand is this, “there are conditions that each one of us must meet to get God to listen to us and then get Him to answer our Prayer’s.” First you must learn to approach God “HIS WAY,” not your own. You need to know how to pray, when to pray, how often to pray, where to pray and what to pray for. The answers can be founded in God’s Word, and that is your BIBLE.
Let us look at some of the “conditions to answered prayer.” The following is not an exhaustive list; this is just an introduction to get you to the point of learning the importance of prayer in your life.
Why? Because “he who comes to God must BELIEVE that He is”—that God exists—“and that He will reward those who diligently seek Him” (same verse). If you want God to answer your prayers, you must first believe that He exists and that He will hear you. That takes faith.
CHRIST SAID, “And all things, whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive” (Matthew 21:22).
JAMES ADDED, “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man thinks that he shall receive any thing of the Lord” (James 1:6-7).
BUT WHAT IS FAITH? Here is the Bible’s definition: “…faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (HEBREW 11:1). Faith is you’re PROOF that God will deliver His promises—it is your GUARANTEE that He will come through for you.
HE CANNOT LIE, (Hebrew 6:18). He always fulfills His promises. And He promises that if you faithfully turn to Him, He will turn to you (Zech 1:3)—God will answer your prayers.
Now I encourage you to take these scriptures, study them, meditate on them and seek God’s wisdom for understanding. I close this lesson with the final words that Paul spoke to the Philippians and I speak the same words to you today. “Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus!”
