There is no time greater than this day that we all must kneel before God and pray.  When one of God’s Children is hurting, all of His Children feel the pain.  Although many of us are far removed from the actual scene of the crime, we are connected to all the victims through our spiritual minds.  Therefore, let us all take some time and focus our minds upon them as we seek God to bring comfort and healing into their physical bodies, spiritual minds and communities.  For God knows our needs and He is prepared to meet all of them providing we seek him out, be obedient to His commands, then lean and depend on Him to bring peace and comfort to all who believe.

Now listen to what He said we must do, “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14ESV).”

There is trouble in our land and in the hearts of some of our people.  Through the lack of knowledge and the ignorance of a few disturbed and deranged minds, these people feel they have a God given right to take out a gun walk into a place where God’s children have gather and open fire on totally innocence people, shoot and kill them.  This is troubling and not acceptable in the sight of God.

He is not pleased with these types of crimes being raged upon his children.  Nor is he please with us so called Christians and Politicians who are hiding behind our second amendment rights to bear arms and just allow these deranged minded people the right to obtain weapons and carry out these violent crimes.  Now don’t get me wrong, I am not against owning guns because I own a few guns myself.  It is not the guns that kill people, but it is the guns that destroy the lives of many.  The people that are allowed to buy these guns with complete easy and little to no accountability are the ones that are doing the shooting and killing, along with the laws and restrictions that allow them to obtain these weapons with such ease.

The two recent massive shooting, the one in Aurora, Colorado and now this one in Wisconsin, the gunman were able to purchase their guns and ammunition legally.  There are three very important points to consider here; (1) is we need to re-examine our own thinking and convictions on the gun laws we now have in place. (2) We need to establish and enact some sensible gun laws that will effect, and eliminate people such as the two that just committed mass murder of God’s children, and (3) we are in great need of strong leadership from our politicians. It is time for the people’s voices to not only be heard but listen too.  Our current crop of politicians is beholden to the all mighty dollar and the special interest. The people they serve and this great country of ours that they are sworn to represent is no longer their primary concern.  Yet we all are suffering from their lack of concern, and it is now time to make a change.

People of God, think deeply on what is happening in your own communities on a daily basis with gun violence.  Have things gotten so bad that each one of us need to arm ourselves with AK47 to protect our homes and families?  At what point do we all become so angry that we take our weapons, step out into the streets and start shooting and murdering each others?  God created us better than this, He created us out of love and He placed in us a loving heart.  One that says we are to love each other. Love our neighbor as ourselves.  Children of God need to take responsibility for what is happening, and say to our elected officials, enough is enough.

God gave us the power to make a change.  Now is the time for each one of us to use our power at the ballot box this November.  Stop being a one issue voter.  Look at the big picture and make your vote count according to the needs of the majority.  No matter how we look at it, God is still in control of our lives, and He is taking note on how we take care of what He has put us in charge of.  The time is now for each one of us to do what is right and pleasing in God’s sight.

Prayer is the order of the day, you pray for me and I will pray for you.  Today we can use our powers to pray for these victims that they will find comfort in knowing that their love ones are in the present of God.  Their grief is real and their pain is our pain.  But joy will come in the morning.  We are all one people in the sight of God, let us walk by faith and not by sight and know in our hearts that God will hear our cries and He will answer our prayers, in the name of Jesus, AMEN!

I agree with you Pastor. We need to pray. Evil is overtaking this land, and it is fueled by hateful rhetoric uttered by certain politicians, talk show hosts and unscrupulous bloggers and Preachers. Words do matter! These people need to be more careful about what they say.

Thank you so much for sharing. God blesses.

Brother Williams, you are so right on in what you have stated here. Words have power to heal and power to kill. They are like a loaded gun when they are in the hands of the wrong person. And as you have pointed out here, some of our politicians, talk show hosts, unscrupulous bloggers and Preachers are using these words to ignite the flames of hatred in this country. It is so unfortunately that we find ourselves at a cross road of living a Godly life and being confronted by the evil spirit of gun toting thugs. The people that are using these loaded words as well as coded words are doing it delivered, in order to satisfy some crooked desire and or to further their own careers. What makes it so difficulty for all of us is the fact that a lot of these people are our so call leaders, they are in the eye of the public and our children are watching them set such bad examples for them to follow. That is why I say, let us pray, then go out and vote. God has given us the power to make a change, let us do it NOW! Again, thank you My Brother for sharing your thoughts of wisdom and knowledge with all of us this day.

  3. “Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Prayer is the only thing we can do. Let God intervene.
I hope that the government do something about the Gun Law. So many people had died and so many people are risking their lives.
I’d like to request. Please pray for my country the Philippines. Some towns and cities were already declared to be under the state of calamity due to the continuous rains. It had rained non-stop for like 2weeks now and a lot homes and buildings were devastated. A lot of people had already died. We’re praying for this to stop. Please include us in your prayer. Thanks and God bless you and your ministry.

Now just let me repeat your very first statement that we all may take note of and keep it in the forefront of our minds. “Pray without ceasing,” 1 Thessalonians 5:17. This we all must learn how to do. This is truly our weapon of choice, and we can use it to protect us from all the evil that surrounds us everyday. We can also use it to bring healing and comfort to those that are in need. I am a living witness that it truly does work. I had a loaded gun placed at the temple of my head at one time. At that very moment I sent up my prayer to God and asked the Lord to take care of me. The person pull the trigger twice and the gun misfired before I was able to knock it from their hands and escape from the scene. God answered my prayer and I am here to tell you that prayer really does work. God is an on time God and he never makes a mistake. Let us all remember, that what he did for me he will also do for you. Thank you my friend for sharing your thoughts with us. And of course, we will be in prayer for your country and its people. We post a link yesterday from Christian Blessings for a prayer request and we have received a large number of responses. We will continue to keep the prayer lines open and our prayers going up. Be Blessed this day My Friend.

I’ve listened to these words before and if we stop and think, they really make sense: No prayer, no peace; Know prayer, know peace. From the point of dimissing prayer from our schools to interference in how we worship, we as a nation are working against the plan of God. We see people growing colder and more, and more immune to violence. We by pass people lying in the street, turn the channel on our tvs’ when there are pleas for help with starvation/famine and we must add to the list the many movies we watch filled with violence. Now just think how far we have separated from the pattern Jesus have given us to follow: Love one another. My prayers are sent to those who exprienced this senseless act and to mankind everywhere. My thoughts.

Thank you My Sister for sharing your wisdom and the power of your thoughts. Enough said, your words speak mountains in themselves. I will say this, just keep on praying, God has a way of changing things in His own way and His own time. May His blessings be yours to enjoy this day.
