SOME THOUGHTS ON BEING AND EXISTENCE
Written by Shirley Rhodes
I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praise to my God while I have my being (Psalm 104:33)
God made the World and everything in it, the Master of sky and land. Starting from scratch he made the earth hospitable with plenty of time and space for living, so we could seek after God, and not grope around in the dark, but actually find him. He doesn’t hide, he’s near. We live and move in him, we can’t get away from him (Acts 17:28)
God told Samuel, “Looks aren’t everything. Don’t be impressed with his looks and stature. I’ve already eliminated him. God judges’ persons differently than humans do. Men and women look at the face, God looks into the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)
God has given the entire world the greatest gift of all, his Son (Eternal life). A major part of that eternal life is “peace” (Philippians 4:7); the peace that comes to those who trust in Jesus Christ for salvation (which is free) who paid the price so that we may share in the victory.
Today we live in a world that demands a great portion of our energy just to survive and many find it difficult to adapt. The gloom (darkness) of sin and impending judgment lingers within our thoughts, but we must never forget, Jesus is the “Light” that overcame darkness.
In spite of the tiredness we may feel as the world attempts to drain the very peace from our existence (being) we must journey above the physical and material aspects of this worldly life and determine to joyfully live in the spiritual realm where we learn the meaning of true fellowship with other believers.
When the feeling of emptiness threatens to drain our lives and we attempt to make peace within ourselves we only find our own efforts lead to the emptiness we already feel. That is why God has given the “Church” (which is not necessarily a building) where we are able to fellowship one with another; which encourages and lift the spirits of one another and this in return magnifies a peace God has already given for our benefit.
Jesus Christ is the greatest source of peace for those who know and place their trust completely in him; for those who do not know him it’s impossible to know the special peace he gives; for he is our peace (Ephesians 2:14).
If you have never had the opportunity to get to know him and experience the joy of His saving grace, just go to the top of this page and click on “SALVATION IS FREE,” read it and except Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Then find you a local bible teaching church and become a part of the community of believers. We are a Bible teaching ministry, and if it is your desire, you can return back here and study the word daily. May you find peace and joy as you experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ!
