JESUS IS ALIVE AND WELL WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?
Good Morning to all of you, and a happy and joyful Easter Sunday Morning, Jesus is alive and well this Easter Sunday, and we are here to tell the world about how great He really is and all the good things He has done for us. We will begin this message today from the GOOD NEWS BIBLE. We will teach this morning from John 6:27-35. Now let us begin with our topic for discussion title: JESUS IS ALIVE AND WELL, WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?
Here is what the scriptures tell us, it says, “Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval. Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires? Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” So they asked him, “What miraculous sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? Our forefathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written: He gave them bread from heaven to eat.”
Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
“Sir,” they said, “from now on give us this bread.” Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.
There is a lot going on today in science and technology. The recent discovery of what some say is the tomb of Jesus with his bones and the bones of other family members, the cracking of the DNA code, which can now clone life and prove or disprove what anything is or is not. We have to be excited about what science and technology is doing and not be frighten about the great discoveries it is making.
We must always remember that we have the mind of God. That is, God created us in his on image and likeness. The Bible tells us that if we seek we shall find. So man is seeking answers to his own existing, forgetting what God has told him about his existing.
So no matter what man’s discoveries may be or what DNA testing may prove or disapprove the questions that Jesus is asking you right now are, “what do you believe.”
Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God?
Do believe that Jesus can give you eternal life?
Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and your sins?
Do you believe that Jesus was put in a tomb and after three days he got up walking like a natural man?
Do you believe that Jesus lives today and he is directing the affairs of the world from heaven?
What do you really believe?
Now allow me pause my questions right here in a non believer’s village for a moment.
Look with me for a moment in verse 29.
It says this, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
Jesus came into this world, born of a virgin, do you believe?
He spent his life teaching us about his father who could do all things but fail, do you believe?
He heal the sick and raised the dead, do you believe?
He feed the hungry and gave sight to the blind, do you believe?
Turn to your neighbor right now, and say to your neighbor, “Neighbor; do you believe?
Now let’s pause once again and look with me for a moment at verse 30;
It says, so they asked him, “What miraculous sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do?
Aren’t some of us in here this morning just like that, always asking Jesus to give us a miraculous sign before we will believe the miracles he is showing us every day right before our eyes?
After the Lord has shown us time and time again that he is who he says he is and he will do just what he says he will do, along comes Satan with all his glitter and glamour flashing breaking news reports how Jesus never went to heaven to be with his father and our minds become cloudy and disbelief sets in.
Who do you believe?
Turn once again to your neighbor, and say to your neighbor, neighbor, who do you believe?
Now look at verse 31 and you can see further evidence of their disbelief:
Here’s what they said, “Our forefathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written: “He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
Now let’s look at how Jesus answers them in verse 32.
Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God, is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
What do you believe?
Do you believe that Jesus came down from heaven and gave life to the world?Do you believe that you now have eternal life through the death and resurrection of Jesus?
Do you believe that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God?
Do you believe that Jesus lives this morning and he lives in each believer’s heart?
Now look at your neighbor and say to your neighbor, neighbor, “I am a believer.”
Say it one more time, neighbor, “I am a believer.”
Jesus declared in verse 35, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.
Do you believe today church that he is who he says he is?
Do you believe that he can feed the hungry with two sardines and three packs of saltine crackers?
Do you believe that he can create in you a brand new creature?
Do you believe that he can provide you with prosperity beyond that which your bank account will not be able to contain?
Now look at your neighbor and say to your neighbor, neighbor, I believe, I believe. Do you believe?
And finally my brothers and sisters listen to what Jesus had to say over there in Isaiah 55:1.
He said, “Hey there! All who are thirsty come to the water! Are you penniless? Come anyway, buy and eat! Come, buy your drinks, and buy wine and your milk.
Buy without money, because today everything is free!
Why do you spend your money on junk food, your hard earned cash on cigarettes, liquor and drugs?
Listen to me, and listen well: Eat only the best fill yourselves with only the finest. Pay attention, come close now, and listen carefully to my life giving, life nourishing words.
I’m making a lasting covenant commitment with you, the same that I made with David: sure, solid, enduring love.
I set him up as a witness to the nations, made him a prince and leader of the nations, and now I’m doing it to you:
You’ll summon nations you’ve never heard of, and nations who’ve never heard of you will come running to you because of me, you’re God, because The Holy of Israel has honored you.”
Seek God while he’s here to be found, pray to him while he’s close at hand. Let the wicked abandon their way of life and the evil their way of thinking. Let them come back to God, who is merciful, come back to our God, who is lavish with forgiveness.
Do you believe he is holy and merciful?
Do you believe he is lavish and filled with forgiveness?
If you believe this you ought to be on your feet praising God.
You should be screaming, I believe, I believe, I believe, do you believe?
Thank you Jesus for this message, I am now and forever a believer. You delivered me from my sins, my depression, my unforgiving spirit, my sickness, my weakness, my lack, my limitations and you gave me eternal life. I stand before the world today and declare, you are alive and you are living in me. No more heartache, no more pain, or sorrow. I stand filled with a heart of gold, love, pure joy and happiness. I can declare this day that I am redeemed and I believe.
This message has been ministered to you this day from God’s Throne of Grace, filled with his love, peace, power, purpose and prosperity. I am and will always remain your brother in Jesus Christ, Pastor Davis/Master Teacher!
